Pre-purchase thoughts on EA6500 Router

I am looking at buying the EA6500 router. However, before I make the investment into buying this router, I need to know some basic information first.
1. I want to setup the EA6500 to accept FTP requests to my Windows Home Server. Yes or No?
2. Remote access to the EA6500, Yes or No? i am aware of the security risks
3. I need to setup Port forwarding on the EA6500. I assume I can?
4. Manage a Kindle Fire and other wireless devices?
5. I am looking for a good tutorial on this particular router? By tutorial, I want to know about alll of the features this router has to offer.

The EA6500 is a worthy investment. FTP access should be possible for any server behind this router. You can even connect a network drive to one of the USB ports and have FTP access enabled. The Linksys Smart Wifi software allows you to create an account making remote access to router possible whenever, wherever. This software allows you to manage your network remotely or locally to add or restrict client devices as you please. Port forwarding rules can be created to allow special applications to run behind the router's firewall.

Can I move EA6500 router out of basement to 2nd floor of my house for better wireless range?

I am having issue with EA6500 wireless range from one end of house to other. Currently, the EA6500 router is in the basement connected to my SB6141 cable modem.
Would it be possible to move EA6500 out of basement and to the 2nd floor of my home while keeping modem in the basement.
I was wondering if I could purchase a switch to place between cable modem and router which would allow me to place the router in closer proximity to my wireless devices.
I've already tried changing wireless channels and using inSSID but that has not resolved my problem.

It is possible to change the EA6500 router’s location from the basement to the 2nd floor. You need to have a long cable but it should not be 100 meters long since it will cause the connection to drop. It is also advisable to have a wireless AC adapter on our wireless devices/computers to optimize the wireless features of the EA6500 router.
For your Connected Home, you may use the 2.4 GHz network to connect your wireless devices to surf the Internet and email, share files and print. The 5 GHz network is best for heavy applications including Voice over IP (VoIP) calls, online gaming, and streaming high-definition videos.

Tigon's already got you covered here. But I'll chime in with some English localisation advice.
There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

Did you have the instructions that came with your Airport Extreme? Are you sure you have it setup properly? Here is the setup guide:

Installing pre-purchased/pre-installed Photoshop CS6 CD without a CD Drive

How do I install my pre-purchased and pre-installed (on my primary desktop) Photoshop CS6 CD and Lightroom 4 CD onto my new MacBook Pro without a CD Drive? I just installed the Creative Cloud Installer per Adobe website instructions, but cannot find a link to download Photoshop or Lightroom using my Adobe ID/Password and my Product Key/Serial Number, etc.

Unfortunately, I don't see Lightroom 4 on that CS6 download list, and if I go to: "If you don't see the product you're looking for, check our Downloads page" I end up going in circles with no link to download if you already own and have serial # etc. Any ideas where this link may be?

Pre-purchase Q's - Pagemaker features and font "problems"

I am running a PB G4 17" 1.5 gig memory with B/W Postscript printers and a Brother Inkjet. I have not purchased Pages but i have been following this forum for several days.
Two pre-purchase questions.
I have used Pagemaker for a long, long time (my serial number is 02-201-xxxxx) going back to Mac SE's and II ci's. Pagemaker 7 will not run under 10.4.x even in classic (believe me I've tried, Adobe has tried and Apple has tried - but no luck). It will run classic under 10.3.x but I've come to the conclusion that it just ain't worth having a seperate FW start-up disk just for a decades old product.
I used Pagemaker primarily for marketing material, white papers, proposals and other documents that are mainly text with a few charts, graphs, callouts and some simple graphics. Some of the things that I liked was the "master" page concept (that is you could format and place text/objects on the master pages and they would appear on every page), that I had complete control of how the text "flowed" on a page (over, around, through and even over a graphic if I wasn't careful), and that I could "write" different parts of the document in a word processor and then "import" the text into Pagemaker making it flow wherever I wanted, even over multiple, non-contiguous pages.
Can I do this with Pages?
Second, since I've never used Pages i am not sure what the font/WYSIWYG discussions are all about. It seems that Pages does not display the text in the font/size/style selected. Am I correct or am I missing something?

To answer your last question first, I've been tempted to reply "OMG not this again!" to those who beat this old drum. It's a preconception from Appleworks and other programs, that you have to be able to run up all your fonts with the font name as a sample. Actually you can do this in Pages by piling all your fonts into a "favourites" collection; but frankly, why would you bother? Merely the font name is hardly sufficient sample to judge a font's usefulness, and if you're using fonts with any appreciation, you should really spend some time acquainting yourself with what you have before churning out fancified guff in them.
Sorry if you're of that ilk, but Pages does serious typography. Your access to fonts is - quickly, in actual use - via the Mac OsX font panel, immediately accessible from your tool bar or from Format / Font / Show Fonts in the menu. This does have the option to view a small sample of any selected font, but more importantly has an option in the cog-wheel box at the bottom right hand corner of it to "Manage Fonts." This brings up the Font Book, which has options to display an alpha-numeric sample of your font in any size you choose, the complete repertoire of your font to see all characters it has, or a custom option into which you can enter any text you choose to give a good view of your font in use: Like Ipso Lorum, or Caesar ad sum iam for te, whatever you prefer. There is also an option to view font info, and again you can bring up an alpha-numeric sample of reasonable, but not selectable, size by just double clicking on the font in Font Book; and there are other options back in the font panel to access any special features of the font, such as ligatures or alternative glyphs.
So anything you've heard about font deficiencies in Pages is nonsense. And Pages represents your typography, with all the right kerning details & etc on screen, as all too many programs don't. It takes a bit of detailed work, but you can also perform proper "leading" and kerning adjustment from the facilities that Pages provides. You've used what was a serious layout and publication program in Pagemaker. Pages is a new and worthy iteration of the same - for all the niggles you'll hear, that are endemic to software anyway.
So now to your first question. Of course it won't be easy to switch from anything you probably know like the back of your own hand. But you can, and the formula for success in this is to approach the new program afresh and on its own merits, and not befuddle your understanding of it with expectations of more of the same that you're used to. Pages provides many templates that may be useful on occasion, but might also primarily suggest the scope of what Pages can do. Once you've got the picture, and explored the menus, inspector panels and help, you'll find that the blank template will allow you a freedom that I doubt you'd find excelled much anywhere else at all.
As to the detail of that question. The answer really is that, although you will need to find new methods to do the same, you will find them readily enough to hand. I'd be inclined to recommend, though, that you first try these with new material, since reformatting a mixture of old and new will naturally enough require some fluency in the new environment to understand at a glance what needs to be done, and to recognise how to do it.
That said, it's a curiously sometimes intuitive, and at others an inscrutable interface. Do spend some time to savvy it before you begin to commit any serious project to it. Pages does to an extent rely on your setting up a basic page layout and other details from the outset. On the other hand, it does have a powerful "undo" facility, so there's no need to be afraid of messing about with it - which will generally show you more than all the help and manuals, and even overall these forums, which are really a consensus of our meddling with it too. It's also a program in its youth, and will ask you for some indulgence: and as yet the odd workaround you shouldn't really need.
But we don't all persevere with it for nothing. At root and core it's a beauty.

Locked out of pre purchased downloads

No where in the agreement does it state that I have to have money in my account in order to recieve pre-purchase books and tv programs from iTunes.
I paid for books via Audible.com but when I went to download them Itunes stated there was a problem with my credit card. But I paid for the Audible books a number of months ago, and I also paid for the season passes on my itunes. It is paid for! I looked up the iTunes agreement and nothing in it states that all purchase items are ransomed until my credit card is available.

and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. Note, however, that you aren't normally charged for a pre-order until the item is actually available, so if these pre-orders just now became available, that may be why you are now encountering difficulties if your card is no longer valid.

IPhone 4s - iTunes download error on pre-purchased songs

Hi,
I have annoying bug where I have songs stuck in the downloads section, under more... in the itunes store (iPhone app) which still show up in my song lists but don't play.
If I open up the itunes store app I have notifications for downloads (which is pre-purchased content under my account which was bought on my macbook). When I try to download them I get an error message "Unable to Download Song,"This song" could not be downloaded at this time, DONE or RETRY.
This isn't a massive problem cos I can manually add the LP from my mac, the bug is I have no way of canceling this proceedure on my iPhone and the songs are showing up in my songs list on my iPhone even though they haven't downloaded.
I've cleared all the music off my iPhone using my mac and manually re-added the LP now its showing duplicate songs but the songs from the app store on my iPhone play blank (obviously cos the download isn't complete)... how the **** do I cancel these downloads and clear the blank song duplicates? any ideas? Also these don't show up anywhere when I connect my iPhone to my mac in iTunes. Is this a cloud issue?
Any suggestions help would be fantastic.

I had the same problem. I erased apps I no longer used and freed up some space and tada, music started to download instantly.yay!

Why do pre-purchased songs show up in a separate album?

I pre-purchased an album and multiple songs were available for download early. When the album was released and the rest of the tracks were downloaded, iTunes created a separate album by the same name and artwork. How can I fix this? I want all of the tracks under one album and I think it's a little ridiculous to have to create a playlist to listen to a full album I purchased. Any help is appreciated.

If the songs your purchased were purchased under the same Apple ID that you have currently signed on to iTunes on your computer then your purchases will show up. Click on iTunes Store, and under Music Quick Links, click on Purchased>Songs>Not in My Library. All of your past purchases that are not on your current computer will show up with the cloud next to them. Click on the individual songs to download them selectively, or click on Download All at the bottom of the screen to download all of them.
You must be sure that:
The Computer is Authorized to the Apple ID that you made the purchases with
iTunes is signed on to the Apple ID that you made the purchases with
If your songs are all in the "All" Category, but none show in the Not in My Library category, are the songs that you believe are missing showing in the All list? If not, then one of the two items above is probably not as stated.

WD Onebook 2 TB external hard drive EA6500 router problems

Had a Western Digital 2 TB external HD loaded with music and photos. Wanted to put it on the EA6500 for wireless access. Connected the USB to the Router and attempted to connect. Would get the message no USB device found.
Gave up after several attempts. Plugged the USB back into the laptop (HP Envy Dv6 w/ Windows 8) and had nothing but crash and burn messages. Look like all the files had been wiped.
Stumped and bummed for sure.

You might have formatted the drive when it is connected through the router. Check though on the computer if there's a back up file created first.

HT4059 I pre purchased a book and now it won't let me open it to read. It say paused. I know it is available to read. Please advise.

I pre purchased a book from I books. I cannot open it to read. It is available to read on amazon and is published. It say paused in my library. When I try to open it says go to purchases and download. When I go to store to purchase it says already purchased.

IBooks pre-purchase don't work

I pre-purchased Guild Wars 2 Sea of Sorrows, and this morning I recieved an email that my pre-purchase was ready for download. The email provided a link to download my pre-purchase". I clicked the link. It opens up my iBooks app, purchased books screen and...nothing. I've tried closing all apps on my phone. Reclicking the link, which gives me the same results. I have tried going to the iBooks store and finding the book I pre-purchased, but it is only listed as a new purchase, meaning I can only buy it again. I click the price button just to see if it maybe will change to, "Oh, you've already bought this, so you can just download it.", but no. I've also ensured that ALL settings in iBooks are turned ON. Everything is up to date. Why is this so complicated/doesn't work? Why do I have to pay $20 dollars for technical support when the $200 device I purchased isn't functioning correctly?

Have you selected / ticked the box in the Inspector.... " Maximise on Tap or Click" ( last icon on right) ??

Trying to download pre purchase book that is stuck on "paused"

i am trying to download a pre purchased book on the ipad 2. it shows in my library as "paused"....the system tells me to go to "purchases" and tap download. do not see "purchases" and "purchased" does not download either. any help? please

Here are a few things that you can try. After each step, try to resume the download.
1. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
2. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
3. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to download the book again.

HT201272 Downloading pre purchased music in SnowLeopard land?

I'm on SnowLeopard. I purchased a music album as "pre purchase" on iTunes on my iMac. iMac at home.
Today, at work, I got the reciept, but I cannot download the music to my MacBookAir. This article (the one I read which led me to this forum, don't know if the link is in here somewhere) doesn't cover what happneds in Snow Leopard at all.
Acording to the article, I can go to iTunes store and click on "Purchased". However, it only shows "apps" and "Books". In the article, there were icons for music, movies and whatnot.
Country: Sweden (if that matters).
What to do?

You can only redownload in Sweden books and apps. Wait until iTunes in the Cloud extends to music in Sweden
