Pre-Sales Installation Questions on Adobe CS6

I am thinking about getting Adobe Creative Suite Design Web Premium CS6 from the local campus bookstore so I can use it with the web certificate program I am taking. They have a boxed version which I will probably get. Less expensive than the digital download card version. I had some pre-sales question before I commit to buying it. The person I talked to on the phone was not able to answer a few questions about the software, must have been a newbie and unfortunately the only one in the department at the time.
Since I will be purchasing the boxed version directly from the store, do I need to still e-mail some kind of student proof to Adobe or is a student e-mail sufficient? How does that work part of the installation work/what's involved? Is there a serial number in the box already or will it be sent by e-mail?
Also, my Mac may be on it's last leg but it seems to be hanging in there. Can't afford to buy a new computer just yet. What happens if the hard drive experiences some kind of data failure. If I need to reinstall on a new computer or replacement boot drive, do I have to repeat the whole process of verification of some kind prior to re-installing?
Once I graduate (and understand that will not be able to keep my student email address), how will this effect me in regards to the Adobe software? What if I need to reinstall or install it on a laptop (I heard you can install it on two computers)?

You only verify once. Acceptance makes you eligible for a serial number.
To re-install after that, you install the software and enter your serial number.
Ensure that your computer meets the minimum requirements to run CS6.
Once I graduate (and understand that will not be able to keep my student email address), how will this effect me in regards to the Adobe software?
You can still continue using your student software after you graduate.

You will pay normal retail price for other Adobe software or to upgrade or to join the Cloud.
What if I need to reinstall or install it on a laptop (I heard you can install it on two computers)?
Download the software installer (or use your disc), install it and enter your serial number.
Your license entitles you to activate the software on a maximum of two computers at the same time.
Note: the CS6 license is operating system specific i.e. works on 2 x Windows only or 2 x Mac only. You cannot mix and match. However you can mix and match Cloud (CC) software.

  • Pre-sale MacBooks question.

Hey - I know this Question is a Pre-sales question but there isn't a forum section for that - and apples contact us section haver replied after two days, so I'm posting here
I'm looking at buying either the new MacBook Pro 13" or the MacBook Air, however I can't decide which one to go for, I went to London last week and had a session on the old Pro and Air,  it helped - but it only helped by making me sure I wanted one of them...
I was wondering, would it be possible for me to purchase one MacBook and try it out for a few days, and then swap it and try the other?
    Eg:
Buy MacBook Air, use for two days, bring back, try out MacBook pro (and pay the extra amount)?
    Sorry if that sounds stupid,
    Cheers,
    Tom.

There is a restocking fee for open items. You might get away with the restocking fee if you do by another similar item

  • Two Questions about Adobe CS6

I've recently begun editing a film project and have two questions about Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 that I was hoping someone could answer.
    1. Is there any way to remove the lens edges in a video clip? (without comprimising the quality of it that much)
    2. Is there a way I can put a color filter over clips? (I'm looking for a kind of an old 70s gold-ish filter)
    Thanks

    1. Is there any way to remove the lens edges in a video clip? (without comprimising the quality of it that much)
    Yes.
It will depend on the degree of lens edge intrusion into the frame,
but an enlargement of 5-10% or so is not a big problem.
    2. Is there a way I can put a color filter over clips? (I'm looking for a kind of an old 70s gold-ish filter)
Oh, yeah...  lots of options (including many 3rd party plugins).

  • Question: using Adobe CS6 on Windows 8

I am about to purchase Adobe CS6 soon. Noticed that the specifcations say it needs at least Win XP or Win 7. I will be using Windows 8 & need clear clarification that Adobe CS6 will work perfectly and smoothly on Windows 8.  If there are serious setbacks or problems to using adobe cs6 on Win 8, what are the problems I can expect & why? thank you.

There's a 30-day fully functional trial download which you should install then immediately update to the current version (menu Help > Updates). Make sure the trial runs well on your computer before buying a licence.

  • Email Change, Pre-Sale ticket question

The email account I'd registered on iTunes with is no longer active. I had pre-ordered an album which came with pre-sale ticket information, but that email (presumably) went to my no longer valid email address. I was unaware that it had been deactivated until I tried to check it for this reason. I changed my email address to an active one, but I'm not sure how to get this information again. Since my help options appeared to be update my software and post in the forum, I chose the latter obviously, but if there is some tech person I can write to to ask about this, I'd appreciate it since the pre-sale starts soon. Thanks

  • Important licensing question for Adobe CS6 Production Premium (Student-Licensing)

    Hello dear Community!
I have a very small film production and live in a flat share with students as my roommates. One of my associates is a good friend of mine and is also very interested in movie- and film-editing.
He also asked me what softwares are available for editing movies properly so I told him about Adobe and its products especially because of the fact that I'm looking forward to purchase a licence in the future. For now I'm editing in LightWorks (Free-Version).
The fact is that we realized that we would be able to afford the CS6 ProductionPremium-Suite Student-Edition together. He as a student would buy the product and us it as well. (http://www.adobe.com/education/products/creativesuite/production.edu.html?showEduReq=no)
    But the question is:
Could I (as a small signed business) also use this purchased product for my commercial business and works?
I'm really honest with this question.
Thank you guys for your answers!

Could I (as a small signed business) also use this purchased product for my commercial business and works?
No. But your room mate can.

I've successfully downloaded the .dmg file to install the Master Collection. After opening it, the "Initializing Installer" window pops up, then it gets stuck there. Attempting to cancel it freezes my Mac. Restarting hasn't helped. Any suggestions?

  • Pre-sales technical question for a HA MARS setup

My knowledge of MARS is very limited. I am considering buying two Cisco Security MARS 25 (CS-MARS-25-K9) units.
This is to allow each system to be installed in different data centers, same geographical location.
This will be in an active/standby configuration.
Is it correct that the license is cheaper for this type of setup ? Can anyone confirm this ?

    Kenneth;
CS-MARS does not have a concept of active/standby (high availability) operation - there is no data synchornization between the two units.  You can have two active CS-MARS with all reporting devices reporting to both.  However, when either/both of the two systems is unreachable it will not receive any events during that time and in turn not generate any incidents.  The 'standby' unit is used to restore archived data for 'offline' analysis.
Each CS-MARS will require its own license key.
You can reference the 'standby' operational process here:

  • Adobe cs6: extracting files, installer detects issues. Using Photoshop, the program crashes quickly.

I'm in the process of downloading Adobe cs6, and when I extract the downloaded files, installer detects a machine restart is pending, but even after restarting the computer, and retrying to extract the files the issue persists. So I tried ignoring the problem, (as that is one of the options) and completing the download, but then when I go ahead and use Photoshop, I only get to use it for less than 20 seconds and the program completely shuts down. I have no clue how to fix this problem.
I've tried unistalling Adobe cs6 and reistalling it multiple times, but no luck.
I've also downloaded the update published by adobe today (11/26/2012) but i still have this problem.
I don't know how to solve this issue, doesn anyone have any suggestions as how to fix it?
i'm using windows 7, and AMD Professional firepro graphics card
    Thanks Stef

Hi Stef. You’ve posted your question in a forum that is for beginners trying to learn the basics of Photoshop.  I'm moving your question to the Downloading, Installing, Setting Up forum for specialized attention to your situation.

  • Installation of Adobe CS6 in a Domain with User Folder Redirection

I am looking for a guide to install Adobe CS6 in a  Microsoft Domain. Best practice user rights and
    Redirected folders.

Nick if Photoshop CS6 came pre-installed on your system with a lenience it would have probably need to be Activated the first time you used it and you would have needed to provide the key provided to you by the pre-installer and during the activation process you would be registered with Adobe.  The system also should have come with a recovery package and perhaps a copy of CS6 installation files.  If you remember activating you CS6 and registering with Adobe call Adobe and see if they can help. If you have lost the materials that came with your system call your system manufacturer or builder.

Adobe cs6 master automatically installs in german instead of Dutch or english. How can I change that

Hi Jatin, sorry to have bothered you, it was a stupid question, as I later found out. When installing you can choose your language, but I didn't see that at first. Thanks for your reply anyway.

  • Adobe CS6 Installs x86 Software On Main Drive

I have a SSD where I only want my OS (Win7) to live on. I want all my other software and files to be on my other hard drives. I've modified my 64-bit and 32-bit default installation directory in my registry (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/how-do-you-cha nge-the-default-installation/73450b25-d794-4f18-9add-75253b893343).
Adobe CS6 comes bundled with software that are installed on both the 64-bit and 32-bit side. The 64-bit gets installed in the folder I specified in the registry but the 32-bit does not. Does anyone have any idea why this is?

You might want to try posting in the same page you linked to so that others there might be able to help you, or at least shed some light on why you are not getting the results you expect, or simply share in your problem.  It appears various issues come up from following the information on that page based on the many responses to it indicating it does not work as specified

  • Adobe CS6 installation is very slow if internet access is blocked

    Hi,
I noticed that our Adobe CS6 installations (using an AAMEE package) were surprisingly slow (as in five hours on a fast machine).  I've worked out the cause of the problem, and am posting it here in the hope that it will help someone else experiencing the same issue - also, if anyone from Adobe is reading this, it would be nice to get it fixed, at least for future releases. :-)
The problem is that our machines don't have direct access to web sites on the internet, i.e., port 80 traffic is blocked by the external firewall.  I discovered that the CS6 installer was repeatedly attempting to contact various web sites, including crl.verisign.net, presumably in order to validate digital certificates on files in the install package.  Each such attempt had to time out before the next was made.  Configuring Windows Firewall to block these attempts reduced the install time from five hours to thirty minutes.
On Windows 7, this command can be used to install a firewall rule that will block outgoing port 80 traffic:
    netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="block www" dir=out action=block protocol=tcp remoteport=80
Once installation is finished, this command will remove the rule:
netsh advfirewall firewall delete rule name="block www"

For later versions (Adobe CC and onwards) you need to block port 443 as well as port 80.
