Pre stuck in Loop mode...

My Palm Pre is stuck in a rebooting loop.  When I install the battery and power up, i keep seeing the "palm" logo then it flickers and shows back up "palm"...
I've taken the battery out and fired it up again and same thing...
I plugged in the USB cable while it was booting and it won't read it...
Any help?
I've put on 1.4 already.

@mikeydbrain:
Have you tried the reset suggested earlier? Also, try removing the battery and holding down the power button for approximately 10 seconds, then release the power button and reconnect the battery.
If this still does not resolve the issue, I would recommend visiting www.palm.com/rom and running the webOS Doctor.
Hope this helps,

  • HUGE BUG: Pre stuck on headphone mode! help

I was listening to music on my Pre and had my earplugs plugged then I got call so I unplugged them and now I can only make calls using the speaker mode or a bluetooth headset and the internal speaker doesn't work anymore. During a call if I look at the icons at the bottom of the dial pad screen, the bottom left icon to switch to speaker mode is now a headphone icon and if i press it, it goes to speaker mode. I CAN'T switch back to normal mode. I've restarted my phone several times, tried everything I could , it's been 2 days and still cannot make a normal call!
Please help, and no I don't want to reformat my phone

Maybe the lubricant works and maybe just plugging and unplugging a few times works. Sprint was aware of the problem but had no solution so processed a replacement phone for me. I solved the problem and cancelled the replacement.
Problem: Phone stuck in "headset plugged in" mode (can't hear anything on phone calls)
Cause: Unplugging headphone while playing music
Solution: Run Audio tests as follows
Select Device Info | Preferences | Tests | Interactive Tests... | Audio.
Select these tests: Phone, Headset jack, Headset microphone.
    Start | Continue
On the Phone test, press Play, answer No, even though you hear the sound
Same on the Record part of this test, Record something, Play it back and answer No, even though you can hear yourself.
On the Headset Jack test, plug in a headset, click No Response
On the Headset Microphone test, click Yes
I'm guessing the calling VoiceMail with a headset plugged in, muting it, then unplugging the headset solution would work to reset it too, but this one worked for me.

  • My iPhone 3Gs is stuck in Recovery Mode. My phone has never been jailbroken. What can I do to get it out of the Recovery Mode loop?

My iPhone 3Gs went into Recovery Mode yesterday when I got home. When I plug it into my computer iTunes opens and gives me this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." I click the "Restore iPhone" button and wait while iTunes reinstalls the software on the iPhone. As soon as the install is done, I get the same message again "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." I'm stuck in a Recovery Mode loop. How do I get out?
This iPhone has never been jailbroken. After a litte research on line I saw some people got stuck in Recovery Mode after a jailbreak, but this is not the case here. Please help.

  • Iphone 3G stuck in recovery mode loop

okay...i'm sure there a lot of topics on this, but i can't find anything is fixing the issue. i traded my 32gb ipod for a 16gb iphone 3G. i traded it mainly because i wanted to unlock it to t-mobile. i wanted to updated it to ios4 so i wouldn't have to keep unlocking it after each iphone/ipod update. so i updated it, and it went into recovery mode. i tried putting it into dfu mode, and it's stuck in recovery mode. i've tried restoring it and it just loops back into recovery mode. i've tried the whole "hold down the both buttons and release the sleep button but hold the home button until this happens" thing. i'm starting to get really frustrated. i tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling itunes and the same thing happens. NOW.... i'm getting an error that says that itunes cannot recognize this iphone because of an unknown error. do i need to downgrade os? how do i do that? i just need to be able to get it out of recovery mode so i can unlock it. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance!

I had the same issue. After updating to the new OS4, my iphone failed on a restore. It was stuck in recovery mode. You have to hold down the home key for 7-10 secs, connect to PC(if that's what you are using) and plug into iTunes. Keep holding the button down until iTunes recognizes the phone. You will be given an option to restore to old or update and restore as a new phone. I did the update and restore as my old backup file was corrupted somehow. Unfortunately, I lost everything since my last sync. Still trying to figure out how to extract contact and pic data from an old backup i had saved on a thumbdrive. Good luck!

  • IPhone 5c won't restore, stuck between recovery mode & apple logo loop

    Hello all,
I got a lovely little iphone 5c secondhand. The only problem is that it will not cooperate with me.
At first, it was stuck in recovery mode, but I can switch it out of that, and into the apple logo loop or dfu.
No matter what I do though, (recovery mode, dfu, loop), it will NOT restore.
It gives me an error code of 3014 every time.
Once in awhile it also loads a screen of script, that ends in "panic, we're hanging here" or some such.
I HAVE seen it load to the lock screen twice now, but only for a split second. And while it did that, iTunes told me it couldn't connect to "Jessica's iPhone" due to the passcode. So I know something in there still works. Just not sure about what ISN'T working.
I'm REALLY hoping someone on here can help!
And sorry if I don't have all the info you need/posted in the wrong area. First time here.
    Thanks in advance!!

  • Mac stuck in safe mode start up loop

    Hi everyone,
it seems I have run into a problem and can't find answers online.
First off I have a MacBook intel core duo on the latest snow leopard and mac software is up to date.
It all started when I had to restore my iPhone and it had some problems and got stuck in dfu mode, so when I decided to reboot it I unpluged it and went to reboot and problems started. Finder kept crashing. When I started up in safe mode I decided to save some important files and when I was done the finder problems persisted even while in safe mode. When I rebooted it would start up in safe mode and the loading bar on the bottom would get about a fifth of the way and stop, it would try again and get the as far as before and then shut down.
I tried taking out and putting back in the HD and ram as well as verbose mode. It says
    Disk0s2: I/o error
    invalid node structure
    (8, 12827)
**the volume mac HD could not be verified completely.
/dev/rdisk0s2 (hfs) exited with signal 8
When I decided all was hopeless I tried reinstalling the os but it got stuck on examining additional disks.
If you need any info let me know. HUGE thanks ahead of time as I am writing this from my iPhone 2g and have a useless MacBook and dfu'd iPhone 4.

Restart from your installer disc. Do not run the installer. Instead, from the Utilities menu select Disk Utility & run its Repair Disk step. If it can repair the HD, try reinstalling the OS again. If it cannot, you can try a more powerful (& expensive) disk repair utility like Disk Warrior, which may or may not be able to repair the damage. Otherwise, you will need to reformat the HD (losing all its data) to recover.
You should always have a backup of your data. If you do not, it may be worth gambling on the price of Disk Warrior, but remember that there are no guarantees it can repair the damage.

    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
    Error 1603
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. Also, discard the .ipsw file, open iTunes and attempt to download the update again. • My iphone 5 is stuck in recovery mode after battery change?

my iphone 5 is stuck in recovery mode after battery change, I decided to change my faulty iphone 5 battery as i was out of warrenty, I managed to chance the battery with no problems (I Think), when i put the phone back together and tried to power on with the power button, nothing happened.!  i connected to itunes and it powered on, displaying the connect to itunes screen (recovery mode) all was going well, the phone was restoring, the image of the phone restoring and loading up was displayed on the screen, when it finished it restarted but to show the connect to itunes screen again, it is stuck in the recovery loop. i tried the steps with holding the power and home button etc, none worked.! now when i try to restore, it extracts software but then, ' the iphone could not be restored, an unknown error occured (3194)' comes up, any ideas out there???? and Happy Christmas to Everyone ,

    Hello Andyoneill9,
It sounds like you are trying to restore your phone but keep getting an errror message 3194. I want to recommend the troubleshooting steps from this article named:
Error 3194 or "This device isn't eligible for the requested build"
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4451
    Resolution
Important: If you see one of these messages and need help updating or restoring your iOS device, Install the latest version of iTunes and try to update or restore again. After that, follow these steps if you need more help.
    Check your "hosts" file
After you've updated iTunes to the latest version, you can check the hosts file to be sure your computer can contact the update server. Use the numbered steps below if you’re on a Mac.
If you’re using a Windows computer, follow steps in this Microsoft support article, noting that resetting the hosts file will affect software services that rely on hosts file redirects. If you're using Windows on a business computer, consult your IT department to be sure applications will still work correctly after resetting the hosts file.
In the Finder, choose Applications > Utilities.
    Open Terminal.
Enter this command and then press Return:
    sudo nano /private/etc/hosts
Enter the password you use to sign in to your computer and press Return. You won't see text appear in the Terminal window when you enter the password. Make sure you use a nonblank administrator password.
Terminal will display the hosts file. Navigate using the arrow keys and look for an entry containing “gs.apple.com”.
Add the # symbol and a space ("# ") to the beginning of the gs.apple.com entry.
Press Control-O to save the file. Then, press Enter when prompted for the filename and Control-X to exit the editor.
    Restart your computer.
Try to update or restore your iOS device again.
This is the first troublehsooting step to try, so there are additional things to try if needed you need them.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • IPhone 3GS stuck in recovery mode while updating to iOS 6.1

Hello there, I was updating my iPhone 3GS(New Bootrom) from iOS6.0 to iOS 6.1. While it was updating, iTunes suddenly ends up saying error and now my iPhone is stuck in recovery mode loop. I've tried DFU mode on my iPhone and try to kick it out by using TinyUmbrella but the computer doesn't reconize it. And when it was on recovery, iTunes doesn't reconize too, a window pops up and says i have to install 'Apple Mobile Device'. I've re-install and install iTunes a couple of times and nothing is working. Switching on and off the iPhone doesn't work too. Please, someone help me with this problem! I really do not know what to do! Please reply this As Soon As Possible!

Ok. I have spent the last 8 hours researching this problem and have the absolute 110% answer to everyone's problem with this issue.
Error 13 and 14 : Are checksum problems with the firmware image that is in the update package.
The update package is a .ipsw (IPod or IPhone SoftWare). This file is actually just a .zip renamed .ipsw.
The error is caused by a failure to download a crc-free version of the file. Not really sure why there are so many crc problems with the iphone updates, but Apple does not check the integrity of the update package before wiping your current version of IPhone software and that is why all IPhones that start an update with a bad update package end up in recovery mode. These errors are NOT related to the iTunes installation, antivirus software, or firewalls.
Recommendation : use a program like "Object Fix" (Freeware) to verify the integrity of the file prior to commencing with any new updates. You will have to keep trying to download it until you get a error free file. Once you have a CRC error free file this problem will go away. (I thought TCP/IP helped get rid of CRC errors.)
I had another problem and that was...
Error 1603 and 1604 : These are USB driver connectivity problems.
Recommendation : FULLY uninstall and re-install itunes software as stated in the Apple support documentation. Be sure to reboot between each step and these problems should clear themselves up. In addition, firewalls and anti-virus software may cause these errors as well.
Finally, shame on apple for not properly documenting their software so that end users do not have to decrypt their error messages with no true support to solve the issues. These are problems that enough people have had that there should be specific documentation on these problems.
