PRE7: Strange disappearing of Setup button in Welcome screen

Hi,
I am new to Premiere Elements 7.
I successfully created one video out of MP4 file from my Samsung HMX-H105 camcorder,
BUT on my second attempt I do not see Setup button in the Welcome Screen.
As far as I remember from the Setup button I can change the type of video that I am creating - right now every project I start is in 4:3 aspect ratio, and my videos from the camcorder are in 16:9 widescreen. And everything seems streetched to the left and and right.
Can somebody tell me how can I get back the Setup button in the Welcome screen.
Thanks.

It is difficult to choose the proper Preset, when the Presets go on holiday! This is an odd, though not unheard of issue. Glad that a reinstall brought them back. Bet they're all rested and tan by now.
We'll look for your other thread, and glad that you got this sorted,
Hunt

  • 10.6 server setup stuck on welcome screen

I have a Mac Pro Late 2009 that I'm installing 10.6 server on. After install I boot up to the Welcome screen with buttons greyed out and spinning icon in lower left of the screen. Tried connecting with SA tools from an iMac and I can select the server on the left under Ready for Setup, then select server from main window, then click Set Up... button but nothing happens. Any ideas?

  • My macbook pro keyboard has stopped working overnight. The DEL button, along with O and P are acting strange. The DEL button is adjusting screen brightness and the O isnt working at all. Is this hardware related? or a software issue?

The left side of the keyboard seems to be working fine but the DEL button and other buttons are doing strange commands. The DEL button is adjusting the brightness and other F commands.
The O is not working at all. Some other letters are coming up with other characters.

Try a different keyboard with your computer if possible. If it woks well, it's a hardware problem.

  • The toolbar with buttons (home, refresh, etc.) has disappeared from the top of my screen. How do I get it back?

All the buttons (home, refresh, abc, alignment, bold, etc.) have disappeared from the top of my screen. How do I get them back?

If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key, that should make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that all the toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
    * If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
    * If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
    * If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

    Hi,
    In IMG under
Logistics - General -> Material Master -> Configuring the Material Master -> Define Structure of Data Screens for Each Screen Sequence -> Choose Screen Sequence -> "Click on Data Screens" in the left pane of the window -> Choose "Quality Management" and click on "Subscreens" -> Make sure the entries are correct.
You can display QM View by clicking on "View Data Screen".

  • Where is the "setup" button on a canon printer MX 452

Where is the "setup" button on a canon printer MX 452. Does anybody know? I'm supposed to push it to align the print head.

    What OS are you running?
There is no hardware WPS button on the TC.. you can use it via the airport uitlity.
The latest utility has added it.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1628
It is also possible also in 5.6 utility.
Start the manual setup.. go to the top menu.. it is not in the main box. Add wireless clients.
That brings up a hidden page in the AU
Personally I have always done it manually via the printer wizard and simply setup wireless in the printer as infrastructure mode with the correct wireless name and password/security settings..
WPS is a security risk.. apple only initialise it when you bring up this menu.

If there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or Service arrangement and take or send to Apple for resolution with one year Warranty. Until you do so, you can use Virtural Power Button. Tap Settings App > General > Accessibiltiy > Assistive Touch > ON > tap the new small white screen button > Device > Lock. This can even be used to turn the iPhone OFF. To turn back ON, connect iPhone to power ie charger or USB of computer.

  • Xfinity button never works following holding of setup button

I have been trying to pair my new xfinity voice control remote for a while now, tried restarting the box multiple times... no matter I can NEVER get the 3 digit screen to show up following the holding of the setup button until it turns green. Every time I hit the xfinity button it just exits me back to the normal menu you get when you press the xfinity button. This is mind numbingly frustrating. Has anyone ran into this? Are there resolutions?

    Thanks for the star
I'd agree with what Tom said. If the external link opens in a new tab or window, that browser "window" doesn't have a history since you just created it.
As an example, this link [apple.com] will open in a new window. It's back button will be grayed out because of what was stated above. However when you click that link and then click the "Support" tab on Apple's webpage, the back button will now have a history to go back to (namely Apple's main website).

-Edit: just saw your post above - nevermind! Take note of it, as you mention, and post back here so we can get a better idea of what's going on.

  • Welcome screen and setup appeared out of nowhere!

I have G4 iMac, running 10.4.11. Upon logging out of my user, my iMac went to the welcome screen and the setup programme, as though I had just installed for the first time!
I decided to shut the machine down and now, when I restart, I get the gray screen and the apple shows up, but then it hangs and the fans start running.
    HELP!!! What should I do?

Whew, we've got at the very least some Disk Corruption, occasionally this will work...
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), if it eventually boots, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
    If not, "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Tiger Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

If the Diisk checks out but you cannot still boot up...
Reset OS X Password Without an OS X CD...
    http://theappleblog.com/2008/06/22/reset-os-x-password-without-an-os-x-cd/
Starts up like the first time you buy a new Mac, but after filling in all that info again, you should have access to the computer and the other Users & files will still be there... though I was just thinking, this new User probably shouldn't be the same name as an existing one.

  • IPod setup/welcome screen issue

    Hi Everyone,
this is probably simple but everytime I plug my iPod touch into my Mac and iTunes launches I get the setup/welcome" screen in my iPod window (clicking ok takes me to the iPod window)
I will note that this only started occuring since I used a different iPod cable to connect to my machine (I have one from and old iPod Nano)
Is there any way to stop this setup screen appearing everytime I plug the iPod in?
    Regards,
    Peter.

    Software update fixed this issue.

  • Installed Mavericks and now am stuck at welcome screen. Enter button does nothing. Help!

As my question says, I am stuck on the welcome screen for setting up mavericks. It won't let me select my country and move on. I tried rebooting with no effect.

    Hey,
Try first booting up in safe mode (hold down the shift key when you hear restart chimes). See if that gets you in. If it does, back up any important files and then verfiy your disk by going to Disk Uitility. Then try restarting.
If you still can't get in you'll need to boot up in recovery mode (command-R) and then click "re-install OSX". This literally took 6 hours, but I'm finally able to use my computer and Maverick is installed. Also, just a note, re-installing the operating system shoudn't delete everything on your hard drive, so don't panic if you haven't backed up. But always back up just to be safe!
    Good luck!

  • MBA Update 1.0 - Buttons and text on the Welcome screen are not localized

    Hi all!
I use Mac OS X 10.5.4 with French (Canada) localization on my MacBook Air, and it appears that after applying the 1.0 Update released on 2008.08.23 (which is said to resolve processor issues), the text on the Welcome screen now appears in English.
This must be related to this new update, since I did only text editing this morning and everything was OK when I started the computer for the first time.
Is it possible that the updated corrupted and/or removed the localization files, and is there a way to restore this? I hope it does not affect text elsewhere in the UI.
Note: I just done a PRAM reset and it does not solve the problem. Should I perform a SMC reset?
    Thanks for your help,
    Kind regards,
    Yannick

After a bit of search, I found a solution to my problem. It seems that the MacBook Air Update 1.0 indeed broke the Login window language on my system (I don't know how, but it did). This issue can be solved by using "TinkerToolSystem" from Bresink in Demo mode. This little app can restore the language upon login.
Please note that the "Enabling the root account & and change root language" did not work, for me at least. This method may not be possible anymore on Mac OS X Leopard (the tip mentions Mac OS X 10.3).
My Login Window is now back to normal
    Thanks,
    Yannick
