Predefine Partner Function Usage

We have added a couple of new partner functions in R3, which I want to send over to CRM.  I have figured enough out so that I can either create a new partner function or assign a standard partner function for the information that is coming from R3.  So I am trying to decide to either use standard or create new partner functions.  But I have not found how the standard partner functions should be used.  Is there any document that will list how partner function should be used for.  We are starting a new sales model where we have people on the road talking to customer, we have main person in the office to maintain the customer relationships, and another person who does the data entry/ order taking.  I current got Key Account Manager for the first role, Sales Representative for the second and Sales Assistant for the last.  But if there is a better mapping that would be great.  But I am just trying to understand what SAP is thinking with each of the partner functions.
Thanks.

Hi Kapil. Thanks for your fast answer.
I have been checking both messages but I still have some questions. What happens if I have more than one plant for ordering in the same company code/sale organization of destination? Must I create more than one customer for delivering company code/sale organization?
SAP lets you to assign different customers for different plants in IMG/ material management/ Purchasing/ Purchase order/ Set up stock transport order/ define shipping data for plants
Here you can define a different customer per plant. Obviously you can assign the same customer for more than one plants, although we create and assign one different customer per plant.
If we introduce a customer per sale organization in "Menu Path: IMG/ SD / Billing/ Intercompany Billing/ Define Internal Customer Number By Sales Organization" which one has got priority?
Best regards.

  • Data determination for partner function usage

    Hi all.
I am confused about a test I made, maybe you could help about the system behaviour.
In a destination country our company have many plants (created in other company code) where we can sell intercompany. We want to decide now  how to manage these destination plants as customers.
We must create every plant as customers (for intercompany flow) and find out to have different partners (different sold-to party) but the same payer because all the plant belong to the same company code. This would mean to have:
    plant A=> sold-to party: 2
                    Payer: 1
                    Bill-to party: 1
                    Ship-to party: 2
    plant B=> sold-to party: 3
                    Payer: 1
                    Bill-to party: 1
                    Ship-to party: 3...
In this way we will have only one Payer for all the plants which would centralize the payments and invoice receiving.
Our requierement is also not to create sold-to party in company code or blocked them at company code level to avoid posting any invoice because all the invoices should be managed using an unique payer (1).
But when making tests system is giving me an error trying to post the invoice. The error is related to to sold-to party that is not created at company code level. I thought that the only party important to be updated at FI level was the payer. Is it normal this behaviour? Is there any way to avoid it?
Many thanks in advance and best regards.

  • New Partner Function in CRM (Solution Manager Service Desk)

    Hi CRM Gurus!,
Even if this problem is present in my Solution Manager Service Desk I'm creating this thread here in CRM Forum because I thin'k I need the experience of one CRM Expert. Í´ve created this question in Solution Manager Forum also but I hadn´t solved my problem yet.
We add the partner function called "Additional Partner", but I don't know why in the tab "Partners" in the CRM transaction we want to add a new partner but in the partners combo the new one does not appear in the list.
The procedure that I did was: I created a new business partner function and I added this new function to my partner determination procedure, then in SPRO: "Define Partner Determination Procedures" -> I set the option "Only Functions Assigned in Procedure".
These are the values. fro my new function:
    Function: ZSLFN004
    Text: Additional Processor
    Abbrev.: ZAMS
    Function Cat.: 0008 Person Responsible
    Usage: CRM Customer Relationship Managem.
Relatshp Cat: CRMH06 Is Responsible BP For
The partner functions in my procedure are:
    00000001 Sold-To Party (CRM)
    00000046 Approved by (CRM)
    SLFN0001 System Administrator (CRM)
    SLFN0002 Reported by (CRM)
    SLFN0003 Support Team (CRM)
    SLFN0004 Message Processor (CRM)
    ZSLFN004 Additional Processor (CRM)
But in the transactions when I try to add a new partner in the partners tab only the follow functions appears in the combo:
    00000001 Sold-To Party (CRM)
    00000046 Approved by (CRM)
    SLFN0001 System Administrator (CRM)
    SLFN0002 Reported by (CRM)
    SLFN0003 Support Team (CRM)
    SLFN0004 Message Processor (CRM)
I don't know why my ZSLFN004 is not listed in the combo.
By the way, my function was created as a copy of SLFN0004.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Gustavo Balboa

    Hi Vishant,
Thanks for your answer, but some one in the Solution Manager forum gave me the answer few minutes ago :). The problem was that in some transaction types (I don't know wich ones or if it aplies to all) the category 0008 - Person Responsible can only appear once, my partner function was a copy of the function SLFN0004 - Message Processor and that function is defined with the category 0008, so I had 2 partner functions defined in the category 0008.
To solve the problem I just adjust my Z function and put the category 0016 - Service Team and let the relationship empty. Then the partner function is now showing in the combo at partners tab.
Again, thanks anyway for the time that you take to answer my question.
    Regards

  • Replication of Partner Function from CRM 5 to ECC6 Issue

    Hi experts
Is someone able to assist with pointing me in the correct direction to resolve a partner function replication issue please. We create all entities/BPs in CRM, and replicate them to ECC.
We have a custom partner function, ZF, that is held against Payer and Sold-to in ECC. This is a separate entity in CRM, but is sent according to relationship assignment to ECC. We have noticed that this partner function is not being updated correctly.
    Scenarios:
Ending a relationship between Account/Customer (Payer/sold-to in ECC) and the Farm (ZF partner function) - the ZF partner function is removed in ECC. This is correct behaviour.
New Account or Customer creation in ECC with ZF relationship assigned, ZF partner function is being created in ECC. This is correct behaviour.
HOWEVER, when adding a new ZF relationship in CRM to an existing Payer/Sold-to, the ZF partner function does not get created in ECC. This is incorrect behaviour - new valid relationship should trigger ZF partner function in ECC.
Also, name changes to the ZF maintained in CRM, is not being updated in ECC for existing relationships. Instead, the Partner Function tab, ZF type, displays the old name for the Farm.
BUPAREL bdocs are being created and sent to ECC, however something is happening on the receiver end. How do we trace this, and does anyone have any ideas on where to start to find out what is happening here?
    Many thanks
    Cara

Solved, internal issue usage tab not being completed correctly so not assigning partner function

  • What is the use of Source Partner function

    Dear Experts,
Can you please explain me the exact use of Source Partner Function in Partner Functions in procedures in Customizing.
Is it used to propose only sold to party partner function or any partner function from the master data of particular partner function.
I read SAP standard help but I got confused because of its example. It is as below.
    Source partner function
Partner function which serves as an alternative source for determining the sold-to party.
    Procedure
If you don't want the system to propose a partner from the sold-to party master record, enter another partner function here. The system will then propose the sold-to party from the master record of your partner function.
    Example
If you enter WE (ship-to party) in this field for the function VE (sales employee), when you create the sales document,  it determines the sold-to party from the VE partner function in the ship-to party's master document.
    kindly reply. thanks in advance
    sagar wagh

    Dear Sagar,
While determining the partner functions you can define that particular partner should be determined from the source partner functions master data.
For example you want to determine the Freight forwarder and you want to make sure that  this partner function should be proposed as per the ship to party then in customizing for freight forwarder partner function you will maintain the source as ship to party. Due to this customization when you will be creating the sales order for sold to party x and assume that for x you are having two different ship to party at two distinct locations. For these  two locations you have different freight forwarder  providing the services(one for each location). So to determine the right freight forwarder the above mentioned customizing will be required. Otherwise system will propose this partner function as per sold to and that will be same for all ship to.
Hope this example will help you to understand the usage of source in partner determination.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Partner function SP determine in the sales order

    Dear SD Gurus,
I want to determine the partner function SP in the sales order, when not entered anyvalue, the sales should give incopleteness check.
But what the client here wants is that, sometimes the client wont enter any value on the sales order,so he will deleted the automatcally determined part function on the partner tab of the sales order header.
Here the partner function should be not mandatory (because when the client wants to deleted the line ofn the header tab, system doesnt allow to do it). Also the partner function should not be not modifiable, because he may want to change it when sth wrong has been entered.
So to automatically determined the partner function on the sales order, either modifiable or mandatory should be selected as I know. But when both are selected, this is not a good way for usage.
Do you have any suggeston to make this partner functon automatically determine on the sales order and when wanted, deleted?
    Thanks
    Jack

    Hi,
Try this way and see whether it's what is require by the customer.
First of all what is this Partner function your talking about?
Can you maintain this Partner function for each customer? If possible you can try this method.
    Go to below IMG path:
Sales and Distribution / Basic Functions / Partner Determination / Set Up Partner Determination / Set Up Partner Determination for Customer Master
Then highlight the "Partner Determination Procedure"
Double click on "Partner Functions in Procedure" node
If you haven't maintained your partner function there, add it
Set it Mandatory if you want it to be set mandatory for each customer.
    Save
Then go to below IMG path:
Sales and Distribution / Basic Functions / Partner Determination / Set Up Partner Determination / Set Up Partner Determination for Sales Document Header
Highlight the relevant Partner Determination Procedure for Order Header
Double click on "Partner Functions in Procedure" node
Add If you haven't maintained your partner function there, add it
Don't Mark it as mandatory or not modifiable
    Save
Now go to you customer master from XD02 transaction.
System will ask you to add new partner function as it is Mandatory.
Now create a Sales order from that customer.
System will automatically copy that Partner function to you Order Header.
If user wants to delete it, he can delete it from there.
If user want to change it, he can change it from there.
    Hope this helps !
    Best regards,
    Anupa

  • Partner functions (R/3- CRM) based on employee number (KNVP-PERNR) or CP

    Hi all gurus,
I am trying to replicate an partner-function base on personnel number/employee number for customers from R/3 to CRM.
For those partner-functions only the employee number is filled in KNVP-PERNR (the KNVP-KUNN2, KNVP-LIFNR and KNVP-PARNR are empty).
If I follow the replication process I don't see the employee number getting mapped to the "bapimtcs structure" (in function module COM_BUPA_MWX_CREATE_REL) and therefore those partnerfunctions are not replicated to CRM.
(all employees are entered in HR-R/3 and downloaded to CRM as business partners)
Basically this is exatly the same situation described in the following forum:
[Replicate partner functions (R/3->CRM) base on employee number (KNVP-PERNR)  |Replicate partner functions (R/3->CRM) base on employee number (KNVP-PERNR)]
What (function modules/configuration) is necessary to get those partner-functions being replicated to CRM?
Unfortunately I was pretty unable to collect valid solution track.
    Thanks in advance,
    AndreA

    Hi Andrea,
We were able to solve the exact same issue.
Here are steps used by us to fix the issue :
    IMG Settings in CRM :
SPRO>CRM>Basic Functions>Partner Processing> Date Transfer>Distribution of Partner Functions from SAP ECC into CRM>
    Partner Function = VE
Funciton = Employee  Responsible(00000014)   ( can be any other partner function which is a employee)
    Usage= CRM
Also make sure the following settings are also done
SPRO>CRM>Basic Functions>Partner Processing> Date Transfer-->Distribution of Partner Functions from CRM into SAP ECC
    Funciton = Employee  Responsible(00000014)
    Partner Function Cat = Employee
    Scenario = CRM
R/3 func = VE    ( even though you are using the PE partner function in ECCwe use VE here as you know VE is the german  version of PE)
    Type = MR master record
Also make sure that SAP Notes 1020514  and 1099363 have been applied in ECC.
Let me know if you have any issues. This should fix it.
    Thanks

  • Partner function not found

    Hi All,
We are getting an error as shown in the screenshot below for a particular user.
    - The user Id is also faulty and when we try to repair the user we get an error that there are open SC.
    - Even if we try to complete the GR using other user id which has Secretary Role (Purchase Assistant à GR/SE for other user), it shows the same error “Partner not found with partner type Goods Receipt".
Any pointers to this will be very useful.

  • Partner functions OA and IP missing for Vendor in Extended classic PO

As part of current Classic scenario, we have maintained OA (Ordering Address) and PI (Invoicing Party) for a vendor in R/3. We have also maintained different ordering addresses for multiple plants in the Vendor master: Partner functions screen --> Alternative data.

  • Contact persons not created with partner function in R/3

When we create a contact person in CRM and assign this to a business partner, and assign a sales area and partner function in the usage tab, the contact person is replicated to R/3 correctly. However in R/3 the corresponding partner function is not created. This also happens to other BP relationships (ship-to, bill-to etc.).
Does anyone have a solution for out issue?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Equipment partner function report

    Hi,
The users maintain the partner function using Personnel no from HCM module and assign it to the equipment master.
Whenever the equipment/Fleet is transferred to different location, its FL is dismantlled and new FL is Installed and correspondingly the Partner function is changed. Over a period of such transfer, business wants to view the period of the employee(partner) who operated it and the dates range indicating "From date" to "To date"....I checked in Equipment usage list, Multiple equipment selection  using T-code IE07 and IH08, but I am not getting the total record of all the partner who were driving this vehicle with the range of the period...
Please explain and guide me. how to achieve this business need...

    Thanks Riyaj,
I tried. It seems to work....The only query remains is the Changed date in the table IHPA against the respective Equipment Object Number...The Created date and the change date/Time remains same in the table against a particular record of Equipment object number and Partner combination. When we change the partner record, the change date field has to get changed and the date of change should be updated...Can you explain me the reason ?
Also I see the deletion mark in the table against few records...If we just change the partner without deleting, wil the record not get updated..Could you give me the reason behind so...
I use table PA0001 for partner details since we use the Employee data record which is flowing from HCM module.....
I am planning to writea  query combining 3 tables EQUI, IHPA and PA0001...

  • Partner Functions -- Search help

    Hi,
I want to change the serach help for the "Reporter" Partner Function.
As a standard, when we click on "F4" icon for the reporter field and search, the system looks for BP's with role "Contact Person". however, I want to change this to BP role "Employee".
    Please advice.
    Thanks,
    Rinkal

    Hi,
To achieve this you need to do two things.
    1. Create a component usage using an window that refers to the employee search help. If there is one available as standard you can reuse it, or else the solution would be complex.
    2. Change the F4 button click to point to this component usage instead of the contact person search help.

  • Credit Management Partner Functions

    Hi Experts
I know that KM /KB are included in Sales Order / Delivery Header Partner Functions  for Credit Management.
Want to know the PRACTICAL USAGE for eg Suppose Order is Created for Amt Rs 10000, what role KB /KM which r included in order partner function will play ( mail/ etc ) and how will it be used in SAP
The standard system contains the partner functions credit representative (KB) and credit manager (KM) for credit processing. Both partner functions are allocated to partner type "PE". The credit manager is one level higher than the credit representative. Enter these partner functions in the partner determination procedures of the sales document header and the delivery header so that the partners involved in credit processing can be allocated and identified. Assign value "A" to the partner functions in the Access field.
    Rohit

Hi Mark thanks for your answer, two additional question,
Can I install SAP Credit Management 6.0 (one system scenario) with in a system with release 6.0 and no ehp packs applied and then activate the Ehp later on after de installation of SAP Credit management?
If my account receivables is in release 6.0, is there any feasible reason to install SAP Credit management 3.0 instead of 6.0?
With SAP Credit management 3.0 in a one system scenario do you still need PI?
    Thanks again.
