"Predefined Locations" for fast appointment creation

hi,
I'm new to apple (for about 4 months now) and I really love the iCal feature respectivly the connection between my iphone and my mac with mobileme additional. but everytime I want to create an appointment it really annoys me to retype the location of this particular appointment. there are only about 10 places in my case and I don't want to type them over and over and over...
Is there a better way than retyping? e.g if predefined locations are impossible, to set an default location for every appointment?

You can't do that within iCal. For such purposes I use a shareware application called TextExpander which monitors your keystrokes and when it sees one of your defined abbreviations replaces it with the full text - not just for iCal, anywhere you are typing. For example, to insert in this reply the html link to my icon, below, I type a k z (but without the spaces!!) and TextExpander replaces it with:

you can use the BAPI to BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA create as well as to change material master.
When changing material master data, you need enter only the material
number.
In the header data, you must select at least one view for which data is
to be created. Depending on the view selected, you must maintain other
required parameters. If you do not enter values for all of the required
parameters, the method is ended with an error message.
The corresponding fields in the tables (such as CLIENTDATA) must first
be supplied with data by the calling program. An indicator must also be
set for each of these fields so that the data is written to the database
by the method. This requires the calling program to supply the
corresponding field with the indicator in a checkbox table (for example,
CLIENTDATAX). Checkbox tables exist for tables that do not contain any
language-dependent texts (MAKT, MLTX), International Article Numbers
(MEAN), or tax classifications (MLAN). Several data records for a
material can be created in these tables.

Automatically creation of storage location for material, in MF60

Hi all,
my collegue of PP module uses MF60 transaction.
When he puts XXXX as Replenishment storage location, the system tells him this error: To stge loc. XXXX does not exist for material M1010000182 in plant 0001.
In MM i have activate the automatic creation of storage location for plant 0001 and for all movement types.
Why MF60 does not respect this requirement?
If I try to do movement type 311 with MIGO, manually, there's no problem to transfer the material from a storage location to , XXXX s.loc.
Is there something more that I have to do?

Creation of storage location for halb, every thing processed with raw materials for production orders reg fert and even settled. Later a storage location is to be created for halb. When I created storage location for halb and when I want to post initial stock through MB1C I am getting error saying material type and storage location not maintained. Can any one solve my problem. Are the material masters of your materials extended to the new storage location / have you defined automatic creation (for movement) in customizing (SPRO > Material Manegement > Inventory management & PI > Automatic movements > Create Storage Location Automatically)?
If the material masters are not extended you can't book those materials to that SL.

2012R2 VDI how to change "local virtual desktop creation location" for collection

Hi,
I want to change "local virtual desktop creation location" for existing collection but this setting is grayed. This location is not exists anymore and I cannot add new VM's to collection.
If there is no way to do this if it possible to create new collection and move old VM's there?

I assume that you mean virtual desktop storage location, which I don’t think that we can change this setting for an existing collection.
You can create a new collection, during the creation process, you will be able to select a different storage location for new VMs.

Best Mac for fast video encoding?

Wondering which Mac may be the best choice for fast (at at least faster) encoding of video files and creation of disc image and then burning a dvd disc. I'm doing home videos with my digital camera, about 50 minutes long.
On my Dual 1ghz G4 PM, it seems to take forever, maybe 6-8 hours. Anyone know or can quess how long it takes for the new iMac Core 2 duo versus a low end Mac Pro?

on my antiqué hard/software (450Mega!Hz, 1GB RAM, 10.3.) combo, iDVD encoding needs 8 - 10x of the length of project... (1h project= 8h encoding)
sooo, to improve speed:
* make sure, you're within specs of iApps - avoid compressed material, stay with .DV encoded video, .aiff encoded audio, .pic encoded stills...
* make sure, you have at last 10 - 15GB free on internal drive (ext. doesn't matter for this issue)
* make sure, all project data are located on internal drive
* … if not, make sure ext. drive is firewire connected and formatted to "MacOsExtended/hfs"...
* avoid other CPU/harddrive consuming tasks, as ripping CDs, rendering 4D animations, Spotlight indexing...
I've seen überMacs, Intel quads/4GBRam, encoding in less then realtime...
if you don't need fancy iDVD menus, playout movie (=realtime...) to some DVD/Harddrive standalone as from Pioneer (<<link to commercial website!), my 520 does the (hardware accelerated) encoding/burning of 1h video in about 5-10minutes...

Fast index creation suggestions wanted

Hi:
I've loaded a table with a little over 100,000,000 records. The table has several indexes which I must now create. Need to do this as fast as possible.
I've read the excellent article by Don Burleson (http://www.dba-oracle.com/oracle_tips_index_speed.htm) but still have a few questions.
1) If the table is not partitioned, does it still make sense to use "parallel"?
2) The digit(s) following "compress" indicate the number of consective columns at the head of the index that have duplicates. True?
3) How will the compressed index effect query performance (vs not compressed) down the line?
4) In the future I will be doing lots and lots of updates on the indexed columns of the records as well as lots of record deletes and inserts into/out-of the table. Will these updates/inserts/deletes run faster or slower given that the indexes are compressed vs if they were not?
5) In order to speed up the sorting, is it better to add datafiles to the TEMP table or create more TEMP tables (remember, running "parallel")

There are people who would argue that excellent and Mr. Burleson do not belong in the same sentence.
1) Yes, you can still use parallel (and nologging) to create the index, but don't expect 20 - 30 times faster index creation.
2) It is the number of columns to compress by, they may not neccesarily have duplicates. For a unique index the default is number of columns - 1, for a non-unique index the default is the number of columns.
3) If you do a lot of range scans or fast full index scans on that index, then you may see some performance benefit from reading fewer blocks. If the index is mostly used in equality predicates, then the performance benefit will likely be minimal.
4) It really depends on too many factors to predict. The performance of inserts, updates and deletes will be either
A) Slower
B) The same
C) Faster
5) If you are on 10G, then I would look at temporary tablespace groups which can be beneficial for parallel operations. If not, then allocate as much memory as possible to sort_area_size to minimize disk sorts, and add space to your temporary tablespace to avoid unable to extend. Adding additional temporary tablespaces will not help because a user can only use one temporary tablespace at a time, and parallel index creation is only one user.
You might want to do some searching at Tom Kyte's site http://asktom.oracle.com for some more responsible answers. Tom and Don have had their disagreements in the past, and in most of them, my money would be on Tom to be corerct.

We are using an interface to create Production orders from legacy to SAP. Would you recommend an IDOC or a BAPI to create Production orders. If IDOC or BAPI then could you please mention which one?

Hi John,
For your purposes, please use BAPI for production order creation from legacy system. There is no standard inbound IDoc available to use. SAP has an IDoc for outbound interface only (message type LOIPRO).
If there is an inbound IDoc available, I would recommend to use an IDoc.
IDoc technology has excellent error handling and will allow you to reprocess an error (if any).
BAPI is also good approach to use and fast in term of processing.
For BAPI approach, you can use BAPI BAPI_PRODORD_CREATE.

How can I change the path location for an entire album?

Hi everyone:
If I move a folder containing an album to another location for organizational purposes, every song in the album is now lost in the library. As I know it there are two options:
1. Manually open each individual song info and find the location one at a time. Insanely slow, tedius and painful when repeating for many albums.
2. Delete the lost songs and re-add them. While this is faster for finding locations it eliminates Rating and playlist information for the songs because the songs are now new dictionary items in the library. Which is probably even more painful.
I am looking for 1 or 2 more options:
3. Manually select multiple songs (or an album from the album list) and edit the path to the song locations (minus the filenames which would remain as before). This is still a pain but much more manageable.
4. A feature that automatically finds missing songs. It wouldn't be that difficult. Add a tag to the song file with the unique db ID. Whenever a song is lost search the designated directory structure for the iTunes media. You could even import existing ID tags when creating a new library in case you are rebuilding your library or some other such activity.
My question is for #3. #4 would be a fairly simple, effective and very useful feature, so I concede it's a pipe dream. If anyone can answer #3 I would GREATLY appreciate it!!

Type about:config in the address bar. Find browser.download.dir and change it to the path you want. Remember that Android has a linux base so the path will similar to /mnt/sdcard/downloads/

DataModeler v3.3.0 - Naming standards template for surrogate keys creation

I'm using DM 3.3.0.734 and in the logical model we now can define in the entity properties to "Create Surrogate Key".
When we use Engineer to relational model, for each entity is automatically created a new column using the naming template {entity}_ID as NUMERIC (without precision) and is defined as primary key.
My questions are:
Is possible to define a different naming standard for surrogate key creation?. We define id_{entiry}
Is possible to set the precision of NUMERIC surrogate key?
If we define entity's column as Primary UID, these columns are included in an unique constraint, but are using the naming standards for PK.
As consequence are created the following:
Unique constraint name: entity_PK
Primary key(surrogate)name: entity_PKv1
There is any way to define naming standards like "{entity}_UID" for unique constraints, or even, "{entity}_SK" for surrogate primary key name?
Can anyone help with some of these topics?

Naming standards template for surrogate keys creation I logged enhancement request for that.
How to change those bad names (going to change them one by one is not an option):
1) If those "transformed" unique keys are the only ones you have in relational model then simply can apply naming standards
2) You can write transformation script to do that for you
3) you can use new functionality - search, export to excel file, change the names there (using find/replace will be faster) and return changed data back to relational model

You should search for _PK, then filter result on Index and you can export result using report functionality (to XLS or XLSX output format). You can create template and include only table and name (of index) as properties to be included into report.

Illustrator is not working as it should...
I want them to compare the original size and date of creation with what I have installed on my computer... I have installed several times with my original CD and I tried once downloading the files from the adobe site (using my own license). I suspect the files has been modified or renamed on my laptop by an external unauthorized user causing the malfunction of the application.
Customer services does not support CS3 anymore and the updates / patches in the adobe site does not solve the problem... They redirect me to the forums for support...
Presently, my problem is that after creating a swatch and drag it to the swatch panel, it does not fill as it should a new form... Now, after deactivating and activating my license the swatch seems to fill the new form but when the filter that the swatch has is persistence in the next filling object created even though a different color is being used as a fill (X)... Help in the creation of a swatch over the internet just complicate the issue.
That's why I would like to know whether updates on my product are being received or files are being replaced without my knowledge...

Multiple Picking location for a Shipping point

Hi,
Is it possible to assign mutiple picking location against a shipping point in one plant.
Currently we can assign only one storage location as picking location against a shipping point in the below bath
SPRO->LE->Shipping->Picking->Determine picking location->Assign picking location
I have mutiple storage location for a single shipping point. I want system to check any one of the storage location while creating delivery for that particular shipping point.
Eg:
Plant P1 have storage locations S1,S2,S3,S4 & shipping Point SH1,SH2.
System has to determine picking location as S1 or S2 for shippint point SH1.
Is it possible to control this by any userexit or anyother way?
This has to be applicable for STO/PO also.

Autonomous or LWAPP for fast roaming

We are looking to deploy wifi to support Tablet PCs. The software we are using is very sensitive to loosing its connection to the SQL database. I am worried particually about roaming. We need to use 802.1x for security and would like to use the MS IAS servier with EAP-TLS for authentication. We have 4 locations which should each be well covered by 3 base stations at each location. Medical providers need to be able to move around the office without losing connections. Time is more important than money. An hour of lost provider time (and when our app crashes it crashes hard) is worth avoiding with addition money. My questions are the following:
1. Do we need LWAPP or will autonomous with WLSE work for us? (Specifically for fast secure roaming, or quick handoff, or whatever it is we need)
2. Do we need to use EAP-FAST (and thus a Cisco AAA server) or will EAP-TLS with IAS be enough?
3. If we use LWAPP do we need WCS or will managing each 2000 series WLAN controller be enough?
4. Will all this work with my HP switches and Andtran routers?

A: Go with LWAPP, more reliable, and easier to work with.

A: I'd recommend, PEAP. More secure, and with everything Cisco, much easier to support, since TAC does not support the IAS server.
3. If we use LWAPP do we need WCS or will managing each 2000 series WLAN controller be enough?
A: If you are only contemplatign using 2006 at 4 locations, WCS wouldn't be a necessity. If you expand beyond that and decide to do something else, then yes WCS.
4. Will all this work with my HP switches and Andtran router?
A: It probably will, and it should, but for best results, going Cisco for the whole solution works the best.
Now, why go with 2006's? They are nice boxes, but you would need 4 of them. If you are static at 4 locatiosn with out need for growth, I'd go with a 4402-25. This is a single controller that can handle up to 25 AP's. With this, if you purchase the 1242 or the 1131, you can do HREAP, and keep all the subnets locally switched, that way if the WAN goes out, or the controller goes out, then the WiFi stays up for the local subnets. Naturally anything acrosss the WAN is not accessable.
That beign said, if you are backhauling everything to a central site anyway, might as well go with one 4402-25, single point of controll, instead of 4. And if you do need to add another site, then you still have 13 more AP's that can join instead of having to purchase another controller.

Using Simpleviewer Pro for Web galleries creation

For once, I don't have a problem, I just want to share a wonderful experience with Simpleviewer Pro. Simpleviewer (the free version) comes with LR and is pretty fast and easy to figure out. However, I went and bought the Pro version for $35 and found it much more powerful and faster. It does everything I wanted from a Gallery generation application. I installed it on my desktop but when I tried the same installation on the Laptop, it crashed and told me it cannot install. After emailing techsupport I got an answer virtually in hours. It gave me specific steps to try to resolve the problem and asked to be kept posted on developments. I tried a second time, unsuccessful again and emailed svBuilder-PRO with copies of the error messages I was getting. They got back to me right away : the problem was actually a WINDOWS problem, where an old version of Adobe AIR could not be unistalled to put the new one (Simpleviewer pro uses Adobe AIR). My email had a link to a Microsoft support site which had a Microsoft FIXIT executable. I downloaded and ran the FIXIT, it fixed the problem and svBuilder - Pro installed correctly.
In two words, this software is fast, powerful and elegant, it gives me everything I need for WEB Galleries creation and I would highly recommend it to anybody trying to do (or help doing) a WEB site.

It mentions that you can distribute your audio projects, so that might seem to indicate that the answer is yes. The language is clearer in regard to synchronized music to picture, or audio for broadcast or other distribution.
+Personally I see a gray (grey) area here . . . what about if I took a piece of stock music from the audio content and wrote lyrics to it and called it a song. Can I claim sole authorship of that . . . the agreement seems to indicate yes, but that doesn't scan to me.+
Anyway, i think if you're talking about writing a song using loop content, I'm pretty sure the answer is yes you can sell the resulting creation. _But I'm no lawyer_. It's probably open to debate.

When i double click itunes it doesn't open it just comes up with an error saying " The itunes library.itl file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the 'itunes' folder in the 'music' folder". How can i fix this?
