PreE Templates to Encore

Does anyone have a step by step tutorial on how to "transfer", for lack of a better word, PrE Menu Sets. Converting those and even cleaning them up for use in Encore....
Thanks!
I have PreE 8, and now Master Collection cs5......

Thank you SO VERY MUCH!! this is exactly what I meant, and I needed!

Subject: PreE Templates to Encore
PrE Menu Sets are but PSD files, however, they have slightly different naming conventions for the Button Layer Sets, since PrE does the authoring in a semi-automatic fashion. Also, they have the text for all Buttons in every supported language. You only need the language of your system.
The easiest way to "convert" those Menu Sets to the exact conventions used in Encore is to Open one of the two Menus (I'd start with the Main Menu to keep things simple to start) in PS, with the Layer Sets twirled Open. Go through each Button, and just Delete the Layers with the additional languages. This is not mandatory, as long as you change the Visibility of the ones that you need to the correct language, but it WILL tidy things up, and for the next step, you will appreciate that. Now, also Open one of the Encore Menus (choose one that has many of the same Buttons) in PS, and look carefully at the naming conventions of that Menu. You will see some other characters in the PrE version. Change those to match the naming conventions in the Encore Menu. Many of those characters help PrE decide which Buttons will be needed in the semi-automatic authoring. Encore will be lost with some of those. Use the Encore Menu as your guide.
When you have Deleted those extra characters, and checked that you have added any necessary for Encore, do a Save_As from PS, to a separate folder. Repeat for the Scene Selection Sub-Menu. The PNG's will not be needed, as they are in PrE, so I would not bother with those.
Check carefully that you have the correct settings for Standard, and WideScreen, so that the PAR's are correct for your Projects. Note: many PrE Menu Sets are designed for PAL, so if you are in NTSC-land, you will want to check how these Menus behave in an NTSC Project. Most are designed to just Crop in NTSC, and the design elements are within the Cropped area. PrE does this automatically, if one is doing an NTSC Project, but Encore has no automation, so watch for issues there. If you ARE in NTSC, I would actually Crop in PS to make sure that everything matches my Projects. I'd also make sure that I had a Wide and a Standard version, if one does some 16:9 and some 4:3 Projects. In Encore, choose the correct one, so that the PAR will be correct.
When all is done, and has been tested, just Move that folder, with your edited Menus, to the Encore Library folder hierarchy. I have one sub-folder, Hunt, in which I have all of my created Menus, and Templates, with their Assets. When I am in the Library Panel in En, I just choose it from the drop-down. For me, I only work on NTSC Projects, so will create my Menus with that in mind. If needed, I will create both a Widescreen and a Standard version. I also make sure to NOT have any spaces in my Menu names, and use the underscore (_) instead. Also, I keep the Menu file names pretty short too. Those in PrE are rather long, and many characters can usually be removed from them, and still have a logical name.
Also remember that in Encore, if you need, say 4 Sub-Menus, you will need to include all 4 in the Project. Back in PrE, the necessary number will be generated for you, based on the number of Chapter Markers in the Project. In Encore, you do that work.
Good luck, and hope that this helps,
Hunt

  • Can I use Premiere Elements templates for Encore CS6

    LIke the title says.... can I use menu templates from Premiere Elements for Encore CS6? If so, does it matter what version of PRE?
    I've seen some templates on the web (e.g. muvipix) but don't know if I could use them in Encore.
    I saw somebody asked a similar question for CS4, didn't know what, if anything, had changed...
    ETA: Just FYI, I downloaded the Encore CS6 Functional Content and installed it, but honestly I'm not sure if it added any templates or what.... :)

    Also, I have to say, for stuff on that's so valuable, Adobe has made the page very hard to find and made the instructions as clear as mud.
    First, I'm still not clear on what the difference is between "Functional Content" and "Resource Central Library Content".
    Second, as far as I can tell, I never had the problem being addressed by the page (i.e. "When you access the Library panel in Adobe Encore, the panel contains no content."). My library panel always had content, just not a lot of it.
    My problem would more accurately be described as "When you access the Library panel in Adobe Encore, the panel contains surprisingly little content.". So the mother lode of content I was looking for was buried as an "Additional Solution" for a problem I didn't have.
    And lastly, the Functional Content is some oddly double-zipped self-extracting affair, and the "Resource Central Content is a more straight-forward compressed file, but unlike the Functional Content, it's a .7z file so you have to download a 7-zip compatible decompression tool.
    It's awesome that Adobe has that content, so I hate to complain, but it's not so awesome how hard it is find and install.

  • Missing templates Adobe Encore....

    Hello
    I have Adobe CC and also Encore CS6
    I don't see the templates for menu's...
    Greetings
    Dirk Geens

    First, moving to the Encore forum
    Second, CS5-thru-CC PPro/Encore tutorial list http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1448923 will help
    The bottom section of the link above has several Adobe links, and other information, on downloading Premiere Pro CS6 and the bundled Encore CS6, and the ADDED downloads for the Encore library content

  • No Library templates in Encore

    I am using Encore for the first time with my new movie edited in Premiere. All tutorials show that when you create a new project and import a new timeline (which I have done without a problem) there are many templates in the Library tab for backgrounds, menus, buttons, etc. I have no templates at all. When I click on Sets drop down menu in the Library, it says General, but nothing else, and when I select General there are no templates. ??? Again, in the tutorials, they show many templates from the very start, even before media is imported for the DVD.

    First, Encore has a forum at http://forums.adobe.com/community/encore/content - I will move this message
    Second, go to the bottom section at the next link for how to use Premiere Pro CC with Encore CS6... including the TWO extra downloads to populate Encore CS6

  • Menu Template in Encore

    Why don't I have any predesigned menus in Encore?  I have the cloud but I cannot access any predesigned menus.

    You did a screen copy of the 1st part... now scroll down in http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/library-functional-content-missing.html to get to part 2
    Additional solution: Install the Resource Central library content
    Download the extra library content
    Choose your language to begin the download:
    https://blogs.adobe.com/premiereprotraining/files/EncoreContentEnglish.ziphttps://blogs.adobe.com/premiereprotraining/files/EncoreContentEnglish.zip
    English French German Japanese Italian Spanish Korean
    Extract the Library content to the Library folder
        Extract the zip file that you just downloaded to create a .7z file (for example, en-US.7z).
        Extract the .7z file to any convenient location (for example, the Desktop). This step creates a folder based on the language you selected.

  • Can't find the HTML templates in Encore for use with Flash output

    Anyone know where these are located in CS4?

    Its easy to write HTML templates. If you have an image that you want to use as Template, create an index.html file with <encoreswfobject> tag in it. This tag will be replaced by the SWF code.
    In following example of index.HTML file, <EncoreSWFObject> is compulsory tag, rest of the tags are optional. This will take boy.jpg (in Images folder) as background.
    <head>
    <title><EncoreSWFTitle></title>
    </head>
    <body bgcolor="#ffffff" background="Images/boy.jpg">
    <table width="100%" height="100%" border="0">
      <tr>
        <td valign="middle"><center>
    <div style="border: 2px solid #000; width: <EncoreSWFWidth>px; height: <EncoreSWFHeight>px;">
      <EncoreSWFObject>
    </div>
    </center></td>
      </tr>
    </table>
    </body>
    </html>

  • How many templates does Encore DVD comes with?

    Hi,
    I downloaded the trail and there are very few basic templates that comes with it. I know you can create your own, but for the price I would think there should be more. Can someone just confirm that is the case when you buy the application

    The full retail version has an enormous library included with it.
    It includes menus, templates, background video files, all sorts of goodies.

  • Encore CS5, pre-built Menu Templates?

    Hi, Are there pre-built templates for Encore rather than having to build each section from scratch?

    The library is the included source.
    Also, google "adobe encore templates" and look for threads there.
    Jon Geddes, a frequent poster here, provides some very exciting templates (for purchase).

  • How to use a WIDE encore template in 4:3 project

    There is a template in encore cs3 I want to use in a DV 4:3 project but it is an "WIDE" template. How can I resize the background without affecting the other layers. The template is called:
    NTSC _Beach Menu WIDE
    Thanks,
    Steve

    If you do not have the same Menu in 4:3 (should be the same name, though maybe in another sub-folder, you should be able to take the Wide version into PS, and just change the PAR (Picture Aspect Ratio).
    You may have to Move some of the Buttons, etc., around for aesthetics, once you do the PAR conversion.

  • Editing Menus in Encore CS3 with Photoshop 5.5

    Realllllllly need someone's help on this. I'm new to Encore CS3, and bought it bundled with Premiere Pro CS3 which i really like. Now, i'm trying to use one of the pre-supplied menu templates in Encore, and tailor it to my specific video project by renaming the title and the buttons in the submenu for chapter selections. I read that all editing has to be done with Photoshop, and the only version of Photoshop that i have is 5.5. Will this work with Encore CS3? What is happening is that i am trying to get to the correct layer of the menu in Photoshop to change the text, and once i finish making the text changes, then i import the edited version back into Encore, but Encore then doesn't read the button choices when i try to link them to video. It's like the menu just died. So how in the world can i tailer the text on those supplied menu templates to my particular video? And does Photoshop 5.5 work with Encore CS3? I sure hope so, cuz i can't afford to buy more software! Thanks so much for whatever help anyone can give, i'm about ready to scream!

    Hi Jbowden,
    Thank you so much for answering, very much appreciated. Yes, i'm aware that many changes have taken place in all the more recent versions of Photoshop, but i was hoping that the older one would still work, and it looks like it should. It does seem to work in layers, in trying to read the manual. But the real surprise is what you mentioned, about being able to edit menus right in Encore, because the Encore manual seemed to indicate that editing could be done only in Photoshop. That's great news! I just now tried looking ath the Concore manual again, but how in the world do i do that? Say edit a button on a submenu that says "Episode 1" to read "Monday"? Or Chapter 1 instead? Or now would i edit the main name in the "Sunset" menu from "Inspiration" to something else? For the life of me, i just can't figure out how to do that! Forget motion and stuff, i'm just hoping to achieve a regular menu that i can author a DVD with! I've been using DVD IT up to this point, and the whole concept of each program seems to be radically different. Thanks so much for all your help!

  • No Encore library - Mac version

    I see in another thread that a PC user is having difficulties accessing menu templates in Encore. I just downloaded CS 5.5 to my Macbook Pro and am having a similar problem. I can see no menu templates (or any other pre-designed elements) within the program. Indeed, I can see no library within the Encore folder at all. In the Encore preferences, it says the media should be located in applications>Encore>library.... but there is no library in the Encore folder. Help!

    Is there a way to just get that library from the DVD?
    One of the Encore employees may have given this info a bit back, but I don't recall.
    Easiest way is to do a partial install of Encore.
    For the repair install, see this - for CS4, but the filenames are more up to date than other links available.

  • No mneu or button templates in CS5

    Hi
    I cannot find any menu templates in Encore. I have CS5, It is a hard copy and not a download. It is a legit copy.  I checke dthe content disc, but, other than a few Fireworks pieces there is not any Encore content ( other than a Read Me file).
    What am I doing wrong?  Should have this installed when i put in the other 4 discs from the suite?  Th pc that CS5 is installed on is not online.
    Should I re-insert the disc and see if I can do a 'fix'?
    Thanks
    Troy C.

    Should I re-insert the disc and see if I can do a 'fix'?.
    Based on what you describe, yes. I would first confirm that you do not have the "LIbrary" folder where Encore is installed
    For me (win7, CS5) it is at c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adboe Encore CS5\Library.
    If Library is there, is the content in it?
    For the repair install, see this - for CS4, but the filenames are more up to date than other links available.

  • Encore CS3 library install fails on win7 64bit pro

    Hi
    Just installing my discs from Premiere Pro CS3 onto a win 7 64 bit pro PC, which was my Win X 32bit PC but with all new components except Power supply unit and my Audigy X-Fi elite pro sound card.
    Exit Kaspersky IS 2014.
    Premiere CS3 failed to go on though other third part components did.
    I then disabled Kaspersky IS 2014 AND made the User Account Control 'off', and bingo, it worked.
    So now reboot and turn off KIS and check UAC is off, and proceed, install Encore CS3. it went on
    However Encore CS3 library has a red X.
    try again select install library, long wait for the green progress bar to finish, result still not on.
    Why and what else can I do ?
    Has anyone else had a battle installing CS3 onto win7 pro 64bit or just win7 64 bit ?
    Merlin

    CS3 is 32 bit. But it sounds like you got that part to work. Does Encore run? I don't think that is the issue; I suspect permissions.
    If you are just wanting menus, etc, just use the CS6 download. Don't use one of the links with an installer; just download and unzip to the correct location. The menus were not updated from the pre-CS4 pars (Encore knows to do this), so I suspect you will be fine. I have not actually used the recent library with CS3.

  • Encore CS4 Crashes all the time

    I installed Adobe Production suite cs4 on my 8g
    Dell Precision 690 system running Windows 7 Professional.
    I love all of the other Adobe software and it runs rock solid.
    Encore, however, usually crashes when I drag a video file
    to the timeline.   (I noticed, also, that the video files appear
    to have what looks like a corrupted looking icon with half
    of the image taken up by a pixely looking green mosaic on
    the timeline.)
    I have updated my version of encore and I have checked
    quite a few of the crash threads.    I never really had
    any 3rd party dvd burner software, so there was nothing
    except the Windows 7 native programs capable of writing
    to the dmv.
    I is it appropriate to attach the crash data?
    Any help you could offer would be much appreciated.

    Stan, yes -  I'm putting more than one M2v on the timeline, but even with one, it eventually
    crashes.
    I tested the m2v output and it was "MPEG2-DVD pre-set: ntsc progressive widescreen high quality" with no other changes in the pre-set.    Encore did not like this output at all.  I have not yet tried your suggestion of importing it as a timeline vs. asset.
    So far, the only output my installation of encore likes is MP4.   The "H.264 Blu-ray preset HDTV 1080i 29.97 high quality" output seems to be the most favorable to a stable encore environment for me, and I'm not sure what this says about my installation.  Updated Nvidia drivers.  Updated encore CS4.   Roxio fix in place.   I still don't know what is causing the problem.  My work around is to use the "H.264 Blu-ray preset HDTV 1080i 29.97 high quality" output.
