Preference are not saved when leaving Photoshop elements 10

Hi,
Each time I leave photoshop elements 10 (bought on Apple Store), A windows says that I don't have the required rights and my preference are not saved. Each time I restart the program it is re-installing the effect as if it's a new install.
Any change done in preference window is not taken into consideration.
I understood that this is because Photoshop is trying to save on root directory, which is not possible as protected.
Anyone has a solution as it makes it almost unusable :-( How can I change the right or tell photoshop to save the preference file somewhere else?

I do not need to install when I get from Apple Store. When I start for first time after downloading, photoshop starts first by creating content and effect window. After that the program works normally.
Except when I want to quit, another window open telling me that I don't have the users rights to save my preference.
If I restart again Photoshop it restart from scratch and tries to re-install content and effects, which should only done once.
My problem is that I bought the version 10 in february this year and I was not aware that a new version was coming, so I don't want toinvest another 69 Euros....I would at least have my version 10 working properly.

Toolbar reset / preferences are not saved

Preferences are not being saved and the Firefox Updated tab shows every time. I updated to 5.0 a while ago, but have just recently started having this problem. I cannot think of any programs I have recently installed.
I updated all my plugins, but currently have everything disabled.
I do not have a Prefs.js or User.js file in my profile folder (and I made sure to show all hidden files). I am not sure if that might be causing the issue.
I have followed all the steps on the following support pages, cleared all history and restarted the computer.

I did recently get Comcast and had to install the stupid desktop tools to activate the modem. I uninstalled their software, but I may have started having the problem around that time.

Sorry, that was the first thing that came to my mind.
Maybe if you restart and login to that account try those settings you want to do and restart again to see if that works ( it's what i do when i use windows ).
Might or might not work. Just a thought.

Changes to my bookmarks are not saved when firefox is restarted. I already tried deleting places.sqlite, but it is still doing this.

Since I downloaded Firefox 4, I have not been able to save changes to my bookmarks (this includes both adding new bookmarks or deleting old bookmarks). When I make a change, the changes are not saved the next time I restart Firefox. After doing a Google search I found a Mozilla help page that suggested deleting the place.sqlite file. After doing this, Firefox will save changes for a few days, but then go back to not saving the changes. I've done this twice already.

Sounds that you have cleanup or other security software that cause corruption of the file places.sqlite
You need to check the settings of your software and make sure that you exclude the Firefox Profile Folder to avoid such problems.

Yosemite Mail preferences are not saved

Hello,
I just update my Yosemite to 10.10.3.
After some problems with Mail, I've been forced to delete container files and enveloppe index file, all is better except that now mail doesn't saved preferences anymore..
Also, the windows positions are not saved as well...
Last information: ON my preferences folder, I got only com.apple.mail-shared.plist file, but no com.apple.mail.plist file... Doesn't now if it's normal or not..

The titles are not saved when i quit

After quiting FCPX the titles i have made are not saved for next time i open a project.
Some titles are saved sometime?

Using FCP-X 10.01, OSX 10.7, 27" iMac 2010, 12 GB memory
I am having the same problem! I am using the Lower Thirds Gradient Edge title and I do change the font from Futura to Comic Sans and change the text size. The 58 large font I change to 55 and the 37 small font I cange to 45 (in case that makes a difference). I have used this for many titles in my project and some have the problem, others do not. It happens, as you say, when you exit the program and then re-launch.
Sometimes the titles go back to the template "Name", "Description", sometimes the title stays as written but the font goes back the generic Futura, and sometimes the font changes to a different one that is close on the font list to the "Comic Sans" that I am using! I did find that if I move the text boxes so that they have any overlap then the problem happens every time. However, I have been more careful with that recently and I am still getting the problem sometimes. Doesn't happen with every title which is what makes it more puzzling.
I have now taken to exporting a project file as soon as I have completed editing (I have 16 projects in the movie I am making) so that I don't lose what I have done!
Any ideas out there?

Preferences are not saved properly

A while back, I was doing something "complicated", with several programs open at the same time, and GarageBand crashed. Nothing unusual.
But since then, every time I open GB, two error messages come up: The first one says: "Error reading/writing file "com.apple.garageband.cs":" and lets you click "cancel". The second one says: "The preferences are not loaded completely. Do not save them, as you would overwrite the Preferences file with incomplete data." and lets you click "OK".
Then, when I want to quit GB, it doesn't simply shut down like usual, or that is to say, it shuts down, but then the message that says that the program has unexpectedly quit and do you want to send an error repport comes up. But then GB apparently still hasn't shut down entirely, and I have to force quit it in order to quit it completely. Because, I suppose, the program is trying to save the Preferences file, in vain, because something (but what?) is prohibiting it from doing so.
I don't really know what all this means. As far as I can see I haven't actually lost any work because of this yet (but then I haven't searched that deeply), but I would sure like to make sure that doesn't happen.
Does anybody have any clue what's wrong here and what I can do to fix it?

My preferences are not saving in Photoshop Elements 11

I run elements 11 on a Windows 7 OS. Every time I go to edit a photo and go to the expert tab it used to save my windows settings like, the layers on the right hand side and now EVERY photo I have to pull everything up the way I like it before I can edit. I'm not sure why it's not saving them.

Safari preferences are not saving in Maverick.

Hi! My Safari preferences (homepage, open new tab with, remove history items, etc.) are not being saved. Whenever I close out of the app and restart, it reverts back to the default settings.
Can you provide any insight?

My serial number is not accepted when installing Photoshop Elements 12.

I just purchased and downloaded Photoshop Elements 12 for Mac. The serial number provided, which I entered by copying and pasting when prompted, is not recognized as a valid serial number. Please help.

Books are not saved when created with iPhoto 09

When creating a book, everything is normal but the book is not saved in the computer. So I have to finish the project and order It. The name of the book is still listed on the left but there's no photos or text. I also have a book that seems corrupted because when i try to open the file iphoto jams and i'm not able to remove the corrupted book because the file can't be opened.
Please help me

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Sounds like a damaged database file. Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the last three options.

Specific preferences are not saving

Cookie Settings Are Not Being Saved.
Since around the 22nd of August 2014 my cookie settings are not being saved; after a browser restart a 'do not accept cookies' setting is always changed to 'Accept cookies from sites' and 'Accept third-parties cookies: Never'. This is the only preference setting that is not being saved, and prior to the 22nd of August 2014 (or thereabouts) my cookie settings were being saved.
Around this date I selected an option in the program Spybot-SD 2.4 ( http://www.safer-networking.org/mirrors/ ) for 'Third party cookies to never be allowed', this may be what's changing my settings, but maybe it's something else. There is no option in Spybot to reverse the selection.
I contacted Spybot but several suggestions and changes on my system later the issue remains, and Spybot has given up.
I do not have any of the programs installed that are known to force Firefox to use certain settings, as listed at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-fix-preferences-wont-save .
Thus far I have:
- on URL about:config , changed the network.cookie.cookieBehavior value to 2,
- deleted all the lines in the user.js file,
- uninstalled Spybot completely,
but none of these actions have resolved the issue.
I do not wish to Reset or Reinstall Firefox unless this is the last option. Please advise whether there is another option to fix this issue.

I found that a faulty extension was the culprit, after removing it my cookie settings were being saved again. After restarting Firefox and reinstalling the same extension the cookie settings are still being saved.

Java folding preferences are not saved

Hello all,
I have recently installed the latest version (11.1.1.2.0) of Oracle Jdeveloper and it seems that I'm not able to save my preferences for java folding. Every time I restart jdev, the default preferences seem to be restored. This doesn't seem to happen for other preferences like code templates.
Any ideas? Where are these preferences saved? Is there any file I could verify?

Sorry on the typo, yes.
Maybe you can try deleting your system directory (OK, don't delete it, just rename it so you can restore after testing), don't migrate prefs and see if the problem reproduces. If it doesn't reproduce, then you'd have a perfect test case to show that migrating prefs breaks something.

FPE2 doc changes are not saved when C4EYE is reset via workflow

Hello All,
I'm utilizing event # 5504 in FQEvents (in FICA) to start a workflow.
When a user sets a payment method in FPE2, I set the C4EYE and then explicitly create a custom event which starts my approval workflow. On saving the document changes, I get a message "document changes noted" (instead of the usual "document changed" message).
The changes made in FPE2 are only seen as a 'planned change' button in FPE2 (on the 'change item' screen) with the old and new values and the change number associated with it. Also, the check reason has been applied. Incidentally, all of the above (except ofcourse the event and start start of workflow ) happens if I all I do is merely set the check reason (C4EYE) in event 5504.
Meanwhile, the workflow does its thing, determines agents and gets the approval and on approval, it calls FKK_C4EYE_RESET passing the document # and change # to reset the Check reason. Despite the workflow completing successfully and resetting the check reason, my newly added changes (such as the payment method etc) are blank - meaning any changes made in FPE2 have been lost. I don't have the 'planned change' button either.
Incidentally, to eliminate any problems with the custom-event-workflow logic, I also turned off the event and the workflow - just left the logic to set the C4EYE check reason to '01' in the 5504 fqevent in case a payment method is set. I set the payment method in FPE2 and 'saved' the change which set the check reason.
I then ran FM FKK_DOCUMENT_CHANGE_FROM_ID passing the doc #, change number (from CDHDR) and user name. All it did was to reset the check reason but did not set the payment method (or any other changes) back.
How can I apply the FPE2 changes (including addition of the payment method) back once my approval workflow resets the check reason?

Folks, Sorry to have bothered you. The document change had multiple change numbers for each of the changes and I was apparently passing the incorrect CDHDR change number to the FM "FKK_DOCUMENT_CHANGE_FROM_ID" which caused it to not reset the changes. Now, I'm able to see the payment method and any other changes restored back once the C4EYE is reset.
