Preference Pane for system wide audio EQ? (2 yrs later)

I can't believe that almost 2 years later, there is still no system wide equalizer in OS X, working always, like, while watching YouTube or whatever. Yes, I know there is Hear now, but both apps, Hear and Audio Hijack Pro, are expensive and overkill for the simple ability to change some equalizer settings. A preference pane would be much better.
I found a system wide EQ along with mixer and many other functions it works great its called Hear this is the web sight http://www.joesoft.com/products/hear.php

Why does my preference pane for Time Machine on my Mac unlock every time I open it?
Hi,
My MacBook Pro is a 2012 model, running on Mac OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion.
It is running on an OCZ Agility 4 SSD (which runs the TRIM command using the 'TRIM enabler' hack.) and has 16GB of RAM, powered by a 2.5Ghz dual core Intel Ivy Bridge Core i5.
I back up my Mac using Time Machine to a 500GB WD "My Passport" drive formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled), with a GUID partition map.
Every time I lock the preference pane for Time Machine in the System Preferences, the next time I open it, it is unlocked.
Is this a bug with OS X Mountain Lion, or could it be a hardware problem?
Does this happen to anyone else?

Is there a system wide audio manager?
I'm trying to find a system wide audio manager for my MacBook Pro that won't cause voice lag or delays. Any suggestions?

Preference panes for Magic mouse and Trackpad not upgraded
Hi I upgraded my i5 iMAC27'' to Lion and the bluetooth track pad and magic mouse do not support any gestures. I have looked at all the similar threads but none seem similar to mine as I do seem to have the correct preference panes for these devices. It seems to just have really old panes from snow leopard.
Anybody know how I can fix this ?Just tried a copy of a working reference pane from macbook air (2011) and it looks juts the same. The problem is deeper than the pane file itself.

System-Wide Audio/Video Syncing
I'm aware of VLC's capability to sync the audio to the video in milliseconds. It's really useful.
However, I've run into an issue where there is a lengthy video online (Flash) that is out of sync. Are there any solutions to syncing the two system-wide (as I doubt there are any browser extensions to do this)?
Now, the tough part is, the video is ahead of the audio. Would this require caching the video for a few milliseconds to allow the audio to catch up?Please can anyone, who has places a whole movie on their ipod let us know how u did it and how it worked, bcuz i tried converting another moview, and it was a little bttr than the first movie, but there is still a noticeable delay none the less. plz help..

Enable Third Party Preference Panes for Standard User Account
I work as a Mac admin for a private school.
All of our Macs are imaged with two accounts, an Admin account (for tech support) and a standard user account (for faculty/staff/students).
One of our art rooms has Wacom tablets.
There is a Wacom preference pane in the "Other" section of System Preferences, which allows you to customize the sensitivity, etc of the stylus.
In the admin account, this preference pane is enable, in the standard user account, it's grayed out.
I would like to give the standard user account access to this preference pane, so each student can customize the Wacom to their liking.
I've tried everything I can think of, from changing the ownership and permissions of the preference pane in /Library/PreferencePanes to creating an identical folder with the preference pane in ~/Library. There are no settings to change on LPT ports. COM have utilites that sett the settings.
At a command prompt type: MODE /?
Follow the instructions. Only administrators can use this utility. Only administrators can change hardware settings.
I recommend contacting your network admins for assistance in getting this done. It cannot be done with a script.

How to uninstall new preference panes from system preferences?
I recently got a new mouse from Logitech, and I installed the downloadable drivers to take advantage of some of the extra features. However, it doesn't work well at all, and it's added a new preference pane titled "Logitech Control Center" that completely overrides my preferences in the "Keyboard and Mouse" settings. Does anyone know how to uninstall new preference panes that are not factory-installed? I noticed that I can right-click the Logitech Control Center icon, and an option comes up for me to "Remove the preference pane," but I'm not sure if this will simply remove the icon from System Preferences without actually uninstalling anything. If anyone can give me some help I'd greatly appreciate it!

It will only remove the pref pane but will not uninstall anything.
I'm not familiar with the Logitech software, but I'd use Spotlight to search for it and delete whatever whatever you find. Or, better yet or use Logitech support.

64bit preference pane for mysql?
The preference pane that I installed for mysql (from 5.1.37) gives the dialog box saying that System Preferences has to be rebooted. Once relaunched, system preferences has a 32bit in the titlebar. I was wondering if mysql has a preference pane which is 64bit. Anyone know?

EEW customizing for system-wide object extension
Hello.
We are trying to enhance BUPA object through easy enhancement tool. We
customized EEW via EEWC transaction and we created a RFC connection to
let central system (CRM) and target system (R/3 system) to communicate
each other.
After these steps we launch EEWB transaction from CRM system by doing
the following steps:
1.We created a new project
2.We created a new extension for BUPA object, and type of
extension: Add new fields
3.At this moment Wizard is started.
4.We enter the name, enter the technical properties .
The problem appears when we try to enter SYSTEM RELEVANCE, we can´t
state in which other systems the fields of the CI Include are relevant
because only column Relevant for BW appears, and we want
enter Relevant for R/3. However the transport requests are created
system-wide what shows that the two systems are communicated.
Nevertheless, no objects are extended in the target system although the
extension is executed properly in CRM.
Could you please tell us what is due to?

Have you defined the R/3 system landscape in transaction EEWC. In order to define a field as R/3 relevant the corresponding R/3 systems need to be defined in the EEWC setup. However EEWB does not work with R/3 backends lower than 4.7 from past experience. If the R/3 system does not have the packages or function groups that start with OXT. You must have at least 4.7 or higher in order to use the auto-generation features for R/3.
You must also make sure you perform the post-processing steps described in the EEWB documentation(in the standard CRM help) in order to make sure the processing fully works.

MichaelIf you are actually using Snow Leopard, then open Accounts preferences, click on the Login Items tab. If you see these programs listed then select each one and click on the Delete [-] button.

Adding system wide audio filters?
I want to add a normalization filter to alsa, so any application sound is normalized (web videos, mplayer, and so on)
Is it possible?

Not on-the-fly. I suppose you could always analyze the file before playing it. I'm pretty sure someone out there would have written (for example) an mpd plugin which runs over a file first, analyzing its peaks (or preferably the mean-square volume or something) and then applied per-file normalization.
It would mean quite a bit of processing for every single song though. Hence better to have metadata. Alternatively you could generate such metadata for every song on your playlist prior to that.
OR like the rest of us you could just bind some easily accessible keyboard shortcut to volup/voldown -
IPhone system wide audio volume issues after iOS 5 update...
I have an iPhone 4 (CDMA) that I updated to iOS 5 on launch day. I didn't notice it at first, and maybe it's just my imagination, but the volume of everything on the phone seems to have gotten a bit lower. Not only music, but also all ringtones, SMS tones... everything. I checked to make sure all the volume sliders are up; they are. I also made sure volume and accessibility settings are set appropriately; they are as well. I'm stumped on this and unfortunately I don't have another iPhone running iOS 4 to test this with. I have searched the forums here and on Google to no avail; it seems that either people haven't begun posting about this yet, or it's not a problem with most users. Is anyone else noticing this and if so, is there a workaround?

Thanks for the tip. I tried it, but it doesn't seem to have made any difference. I noticed a glitch a few days ago - when I unlocked my phone and went to listen to some music (through an ihome), there was barely any sound. I touched the volume slider (which was already at max volume) and it shot back up to normal. I still think that ringtones/smstones are softer than iOS 4 though. -

I'm on a 27 inch iMac (end 2013) 3,5 Ghz i7. I've upgraded to Yosemite and everything worked... until today.
When I try to launch Mail, Messages, FaceTime, Rapidweaver (and who knows what else): they all crash immediately with this message:

Tell us about the insignificant one then .
Do these include turning Off any Fonts ?
Adding any Fonts that might cause Conflicts ?
The default Font most apps used to need was Helvetivca.
it was used as the font for most window titles and other text items with the windows.
For Messages we know that since Mavericks this has been AppleGothic.
Use the Font Book app to check both (AppleGothic is well down the list).
They should not have Duplicates, they should be Enabled and should Validate (File Menu).
