Preference to save artwork as cover.png?

I have my library stored on a shared drive (I use also Amarok for Linux). I'd like to share the artwork between both players.
I know I can parse all tracks and export the artwork using AppleScript, but I'm hoping there's a preference to make iTunes save the artwork there by default. It seems a waste to embed it into the MP3, then export it back out again.
Is there a list of hidden iTunes preferences? (I scanned through the output of defaults read com.apple.iTunes but didn't see anything that matched "art" or "cover").

So, in case my post wasn't clear enough
I want iTunes to co-operate with my other media players, by having both save their artwork in the folder of the album, rather than embedding magic metadata somewhere else.

I can't be sure, but what probably happens is that the page doesn't give you a link to a downloadable file, but a button which activates a script. There's nothing you can do about that, because you don't control the script.

It sounds like the downloaded file does not open or execute as it's supposed to (which, for instance, would happen if what you downloaded was a Java application, but you didn't have Java installed).
If you are allowed to, give us the URL and we'll have a look. Also, you should add what version of Mac OS X and of Safari you are using, and you should correct your profile (which says "Mac Pro" -- this forum is for the MacBook Pro, which is a different computer from the Mac Pro).

Can't get panels and preferences to save with MacBook Pro

I can not get panels and preferences to save using Illustrator CS6 on a MacBook Pro. When I close out of AI the settings/preferences don't stay. Please help.

Have you tried rebuilding preferences?
Working in a new user account?
Workspaces are saved in your local user folder. If workspaces are not saved, this could be problems with either Illustrators preferences in general or your user account.

Cannot save file as a png?

I'm working with a file that was originally provided as a jpg. Opened it in Photoshop and saved it as a psd file. Made modifications and now when I try to save that file, there is no option to save it as a png. I've seen this before but no idea what is causing it.

Border around Artwork in Cover Flow, iOS 4.3

First of all: please excuse me for my english; it's not my native language.
After updating to iOS 4.3 (Mac OS X 10.6.6; iTunes 10.4), I had some problem with some artworks, so I removed and added all my music to my iPhone 4. Suddenly, all the artworks in Cover Flow has a thin (or thick, depending on the form of the picture), black border around them. In "Now playing mode", artwork also looks like they are in low resolution – even if they aren't.
Anyone familiar with this problem? Can I fix it, or will it be addressed and fixed with an upgrade?

Artwork in Cover flow not matching artwork in tab?

Ok, example - I’ve got 5 tunes from the same artist. All have different artwork that is displayed correctly in the artwork tab but in cover flow it just uses the same cover for all 4 tracks. Is there anything I can do about it so that cover flow displays artwork correctly?
I’ve tried removing the artwork but it just removes the artork from the tab and leaves an image in cover flow.
So removed the track from iTunes - put it back in and added the correct artwork and cover flow still puts in the same artwork!?

I’ve sorted it. I clicked on the info tab and it shows each of the tracks as being part of a compliation - I just un-ticked the box and the artowrk now displays correctly

There used to be an option for a UPS configuration under System Preferences - Engery Saver for previous versions of OS X. Can this feature still be accessed for OS X 10.9, and if so, how and where?

Yes. A UPS tab was not showing up on the System Preferences---> Energy Saver pane when the USB monitor cable from my APC UPS was plugged into a USB hub. However, I have just discovered that the UPS tab does show up when the cable is plugged directly into the back of my iMac, so the USB hub must have been the problem. Thanks anyway!

Try this to start:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

Save for web as PNG-24 with slices is saving in JPEG format!

Hello all.
I'm using Photoshop Extended CS6 13.0.1 x64 and when I save for web as PNG-24, all the slices from the project, the final result are JPEG format pictures. I tried the same but exporting as GIF and it keeps saving as JPEG. I tried Save As instead of Save for Web and it works, but this way I'm not saving by slice and not for web.
Any idea why this happens?

Found the solution. I had to select all the slices.

I presuming you're using the default Internet Browser, Safari.
Choose Safari → Preferences
Alternatively, press Command+, (comma).
Click the General tab; then click the Save Downloaded Files To pop-up menu and choose Other.
Navigate to and select the location where you want the files stored and click Select.
Click the Close button to exit Preferences.

How to save from .ai to .png without a gap

I created a repeating pattern. I made the artboard the exact size of the art. I zoomed in and there are no gaps around the edge. I saved it for web and devices png8 and the top has a gap with transparency showing through. When I use it as a web page background, there is a white stripe showing. I've tried twice to resave it but get the same gap.
I'm trying to upload the two images using the camera icon but nothing happens after I select the image and click the "insert image" button. Again, I've tried twice without a different result. Please advise.

Adobe Illustrator files are not tolerated as attachments in that Adobe Illustrator forum (great, isn't it?).
You may take a service like Google Docs to provide them.

How to save JFrame image as png format?

i've encountered some problem while i using my Java3D to load my VRML file & save it in png format.
i've loaded the VRML file in my Java 3D and display it on the JFrame.
now, i want to save the image as PNG format, but i can't save the image, but just save the background & canvas.

Kind of, sort of. (You can't save as SVG, but you can export as PNG.) PS Touch projects themselves are self-contained UNTIL they are exported, and even then they'll get exported to a specific location. (e.g., To the Camera Roll or Gallery/Photos, to Creatve Cloud, etc.)
The procedure would be to start a new project using the "add image" icon (looks like a landscape with a plus sign, in the lower right in the project selection user interface) > Camera. Take your picture, then PS Touch will bring you to the editing user interface. Edit your image as appropriate.
Go back out to the project selection user interface by tapping the back arrow in the upper left to save. You can then export the project using the export icon (5th icon from the upper right).
