Preferences issue?

Hi,
I don't know what I did but I believe it is a simple fix. My
flash mx04 screen has rearranged so that my stage is outside of my
workspace (terminology?)
I have a screen picture if someone wants to see it.

reset to the default waorkspace and try again. Windows >
Workspace > Default Layout... or similar -
it may be different in your version - i havent touched mX04
in years.

one of those days --- it's the PLACE dialogue box

Google images shows 2,400,000 image results but only displays 3,000- NOT a preference issue- why/how to fix

When accessing image searches, such as "typographic resume" I get an insanely large result such as 2,470,000 images. However, after about 3,000 results they stop showing without a notification that similar results have been removed. I have my preferences set as high as they go- it is not an issue. How can I adjust/fix this to show ALL results as I approach them, or the option to load more.

Thanks for contacting Mozilla Support. I think what Chandan_Baba was trying to say is our browser only displays the results that Google gives us. There are no settings in the browser that would limit the amount of search results that you can see.
I would recommend posting your question to google's support. They have a page [https://support.google.com/websearch/troubleshooter/3425345?&ref_topic=3285072#ts=3502652 here] to report issues with Image searches.

Can't install a .mpkg file - a Security Preferences issue?

I'm having the issue installiung a .mpkg file - it's an App from Pantone.
The message says "Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac Store and identified developers"
I went into the "get info" and made sure that "Installer" was selected under "Open With:" but that didn't fix it.

By default Apple has changed the security settings to only allow installation of apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers. To change this permanently or temporarily go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy. On the General Tab click the little lock in the lower left corner to unlock the general preference pane.

Adobe Reader preferences issue, text stretched and zoomed in.

I have a user with Adobe Reader 11.0.2 installed and cannot change his preferences and always receives a "Screen reader" prompt when opening a PDF. The window is stretched accross the screen and the only way to close it is Tab - Enter. The preferences are the same way, theres no way to check the settings because the window is too zoomed in and the text is too large. I have already tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, deleted all the folders and reg keys to do a clean install as well as under multiple profiles. Same issue each time. Has anyone else seen this issue?
Any advice would be great.

Soooo, annoying. I don't understand how Adobe can have 20+ years of experience with Illustrator and still not have fixed a few simple things. I keep getting the corrupt preferences warning every time i open ill. I can't find any solutions anywhere for this. What is the deal?
If anyone can let me know how I can take care of this annoyance I would really appreciate it. It's driving me crazy.

Windows XP Pro. Running as admin.
I've deleted the settings folder. No effect. If I reboot Ill will present the same warning. If I close Illustrator for a couple hours, same thing. It's a common problem. I've seen plenty of people on the web complaining about it, including on this forum, but have never found any solutions that work. The common suggestion is to either move the settings folder or delete it altogether and have illustrator rewrite the pref file but like most other people out there, that hasn't worked. The issue is recurring. The other is to delete the pref file upon illustrator start up. Still same issue. No matter what, when illustrator closes it corrupts the pref file or when it opens it doesn't recognize the pref file as valid. Quite annoying. So, my recent files don't show up, my keyboard shortcuts, gone, my scratch disk settings, units, all of that has to be redone everytime. My workspace is unaffected though. So really, it's just the pref file. It really is quite annoying. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Crystal Reports XI R2 Server: InfoView - Save Preferences Issues

Hello All;
I beleive this issue is related to how I set the security for the users/groups/folders.
Once I have the user defined and attached to a group then to a folder, I cannot save it preferences in InfoView. Any suggestions how the security is suppose to set up from the user to the folder level.
I sign on as administrator in CMC under Business Object Enterprise Application/Infoview, I have granted rights to change user preferences. but left Everyone will inherit rights from the parental group box unchecked.
Any suggestions?

Which preferences do you mean? The preferences every user can change (if allowed) in Infoview? i,e, what you see on the top-right corner in Infoview?

System preferences issue?

I just got my system preferences to work. But can one of you 10.8 users please verify this:
When I secondary tap in my desktop and click "change desktop background" the system preferences window will appear the first time..
But if I do it again the second time, the window will not appear, it's like it auto hides itself? Any occurrences of the same kind for any of you?
And I also hear some random sound notifications in the background, but I check my notification center and nothing is changed or active..any of you getting this issue too?

I turn on the system, I use the right click on desktop and select "change desktop background" system preferences is showing up, and everything is fine. But when I try to do this again I can see that the system preferences start but the window is not showing up, I need to press the icon on the dock, or press command+tab, or use the right click on desktop and select change desktop background again, to see the window.
If I use system preferences from apple menu or dock icon, it run fine, but all the times when I try to change the desktop backgroung using the right click option this issue happen again.

HT2490 System preferences Issue

The first thing I would suggest is to restart your computer and see if the issue persists. If so, then you may need to try the following troubleshooting steps:

Audition CS6 Mac Won't Play Audio Interface Preference Issue

Hi Im having some problems with Audition CS6 mac. I have the full master collection and only encounter this issue with Audition.
On my Macbook pro
I use my internal speakers/audio or a vrm box audio interface, occasionally Ill use a fasttrack pro to record. My problem occurs after I use the audio interface. When I next open Audition set up for the built in speakers/audio and hit play, it says playing but nothing plays.
When I open Audition after using a external interface going back to my built in macbook audio I get a pop warning that:
"Your systems audio hardware settings have changed. Would you like to go review Audition's audio hardware preferences?"
I click yes, go to that everything is set for internal mac audio,
hit play, says playing bottom left, then just sits there.
I noticed today when it did this, that it if I go into the Audio Channel Mapping Preference, it shows what ever audio interface I used last on the output/not working on it. I am unable to change theses settings.
I reboot after changing audio interfaces, etc.
I can delete my Audition preference files in my user folder and it functions again, but that also entails rescanning all plugins which takes some time.

I just found that removing MachineSpecificSettings.xml in the user/preferences/adobe/audition/5.0/ folder will get it to play again under the internal audio settings. And when I look at channel mapping it shows the internal audio.

InDesign CC 2014 Preferences Issue

I am running InDesign CC 2014. When I open a new document, the new document shows the page width and height in points or picas. I have set my preferences to inches but that doesn't seem to do anything. Didn't have this issue before.

Set it with no docs open to make it the default for new work. It won't affect existing files.

Hyperion Reports preferences issue

I have been through this.. So I do conditional formating to solve this.. If Gen1 , Indent 2 spacesIf Gen 2, indent 4 spaces I am using these for different generations on row level and itworks absolutely fine..

Magic Mouse Swipe Navigation Not Working - Not Preferences Issue

Hello.
Hoping to find some answers after days of frustration. For some reason, in Safari, when I swipe left to go back one page (like I've always done) my safari browser just freezes up and my only option is to close the window and start over. It's not the same issue I've found most people having where they need to reset their preferences. Mine are set correctly.
Is anyone else having this issue? Or have a solution?
I'll be more than happy to provide more configuration information if needed.

Yep, have reset PRAM and SMC. Same issue.
It's actually fairly common - I've found at least 15 topics on this forum about it and a bit of Googleing revealed it wasn't just me. Can't find any topics that have a proper resolution though.
I did a fair bit of research before posting on here because I didn't want to post a problem that was specific to just me. It seems like it's a fair few people.
One "solution" is to install a 3rd party piece of software and assign right click to a right "tap" (not a full click) - that's not really a solution, more of a workaround.

Managed Preferences issue

I have an unusual problem. My managed preferences are coming down perfect from my server. I am running 10.6.6 on the server. 10.6.5 on the client machines. I'm not running any machine based policies, just user based. When I set one of the preferences (System preferences) to keep users out of the "accounts" and out of the "sharing", What happens is that is greys out on the client machines the "other" section in the system preferences. This is the only issue that I am experiencing, problem is that some software that we run (macaroni, keyaccess..etc) the preferences for them, sits in the "other" section. Any advice?

Did you apply the MCX on the Server itself? If you did try installing WorkGroup Manager on a client workstation that has those extra Preference Panes installed. You should then be able to access the Others section.
Installing WGM on a designated client admin workstation is the preferred way of applying MCX.
