Preinstalled softwares

Hi,
I would like to ask about the preinstalled softwares i.e. keynote, pages & numbers and other preinstalled softwares.
Actually I'm planning to buy a macbook air thru online store & I would like to configure my macbook air to have these preinstalled softwares (keynotes, pages & numbers) and other preinstalled softwares.
If something happen in the future that requires me to reformat my macbook air, then how I'm gonna reinstall all these preinstalled softwares?
How to get the original installer for these softwares?
Please help me since I'm new to all Apple products especially Apple Mac products.
Tqvm

Thanks alot for your help...
Just added to my curiosity...
How about the other Applications?
Are they come with the OS?
My MacBook Air came with Mac OS Lion (I bought my MacBook Air thru Apple Online Store)
I want to know, how to download this Mac OS Lion? (for my keeping if something happen to my MacBook in the future).
It doesn't appear on my purchased list in App Store.
Please help me...

You might be able to depending on the age of the disc and the model of your newer used iMac. Only way to tell is to pop in the DVD and see if you can install the iLife programs.

  • Can i get disks that will provide recovery for preinstalled software?

I just bought a satellite a40 on ebay which works fine, except has problem with power saver software which the tech support have so far not been able to resolve. To sort it out will prob need to wipe the puter and start again but I do not have any system disks with the purchase. Can I get copies of these from toshiba so that i won't lose the preinstalled ms office etc.? THe other thing is that it has a licensed copy of XP PRo on it but shd originally have come with xp home, so what do i do about that..????have ms licence sticker on puter....am bit confused and computers are not exactly my strong point, anyone help without assuming I know anything...?????

    Hi,
you can get a recovery CD from a service partner of Toshiba. But the OS will be XP Home and MS Office is no preinstalled software from Toshiba.
If you want XP Pro on your computer, you have to install a normal copy of XP Pro from Microsoft. Than you have to download the drivers and other software from Toshiba's download page (before you reinstall the A40 or with another computer) and save it on a disc or memory stick or something else. After normal Windows installation install the downloaded software in the following order:

Hotfixes can be downloaded from Microsoft.
Maybe you don't need them all if you install SP2.
    And then everything should work.
But you still don't have MS Office. This you have to purchase from Microsoft.

  • Satellite Pro P100: Where can I find the preinstalled software?

Hi all, i recieved my satellite pro p100-327 today. From what i've read in the manual the recovery cd included is just a copy of windows? If i want to reinstall windows where can all the programs preinstalled on the laptop be reinstalled from? Is there any way to make a boot disk as such?
    Thanks for the help all.

I will try to bring light into this case
The Toshiba recovery CD contains a OEM version of the Windows XP operating system and all the Toshiba drivers, tools and utilities are a part of this CD.
Simply said, after usage of the Toshiba recovery CD you will get the notebook with factory settings.
If you need only the Toshiba drivers or tools you can create a own Tools & Utilities CD.
This option can be found in the Toshiba Assist under --> Protect & Fix -> Create Drivers & tools CD
All the drivers are also placed on the Toshiba driver page

  • Query re. Recovery Disks and preinstalled software.

I've had some problems with my notebook of late. I got this notebook at Christmas, and after getting over the initial setup problems (e.g. wireless not working properly due to Vista etc.), it had been working well. I tried making Recovery DVD's using the Lenovo software but it kept freezing/crashing. I never figured out why, and wasn't to bothered because I thought the recovery partition would be enough to restore my system.
So my system crashed after a windows update - wouldn't boot into Vista and went straight to the resue and recovery programme on boot-up and got stuck at the splash screen. I got in touch with customer support, and after running some tests found out the hard drive was faulty. So after finally getting my new hard drive (thats a story for another day) and recovery disks I set about  setting everything up. I was surprised to find a lot of the software that came with the laptop not included in the recovery disk. There were trial versions of Office and Corel, there was  DVD and CD burning software and a couple of other things. I rang customer support. Thye told me the seller must have installed the extra software. So I rang the sellers (laptopsdirect.ie) - they said that customer support was "telling me lies". as they sold on their units direct from the manufacturer and only installed extra software at the buyers request (it wasn't requested). I don't know who to believe.  I did use some of the software, and prefered the burning software to the windows native one. I also feel like I've been had - after all its not my fault the hard drive was faulty.  I've now installed some extras like Firefox, Thunderbird, Rocketdock. Now, if I create my own set of recovery discs will these be identical to the ones Lenovo sent me, or will the reflect my personal settings. Also, are the contents of the recovery partition identical to the recovery DVDs, or is it contantly updated to reflect the changes I make to my system?

    Hi mozalini,
I have exactly the same laptop as you and after getting the recovery disks sent from lenovo noted the same software issues. If you look at disk 3 (and it's the same as the one they sent me, you will notice the title for it:
Applications and drivers recovery disk for C200,C205,N100,N105 Type 0689,0768,8922,8923,8925.
Which is not N200 0769 - the machine we have.
I guess these are older recovery discs and they may have not made one specifically for the setup they shipped with ours even if the drivers and chipset software all work ok.
Personally I took some consolation in the fact that they didn't charge me for mine (hopefully you too). Also you have some additional software which didn't ship with ours - Omnipass - which is pretty useful for password protected sites such as banks and the like.
I have just installed xp pro as I didn't like Vista and using rescue and recovery (option to back up to dvd disc) you can make a full backup. Used 3 dvds for mine and I guess it will back up all your personal stuff too.
    Hope this helps
    Regards

  • Is there a way to reinstall Windows without all of HP's preinstalled software?

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1334us notebook, installed with Windows 7 64-bit. I'm very familiar with the recovery process, DVDs and all, but I've recently read this article on Lifehacker: http://lifehacker.com/5832896/download-windows7-isos-to-reinstall-without-restoring-your-system
The opportunity to install a fresh, clean, legitimate copy of Windows 7 with my current product key seemed like a good one. No more would I have the modifications made by HP, Norton, Office 2007, Wildtanget Games and all. Upon installing this, I was prompted to cough up a product key. I tried the one on the bottom of my notebook, which is a little worn and hard to identify, but I didn't seem to have any luck. I reinstalled HP's build with my recovery disks, and used Speccy (a program by Piriform, the same developer who makes Ccleaner) to find out the product key hidden in my registry. I took that key, and tried it in the installation process. It seemed to have gone through, without a hitch. However, after checking my Windows activation status, it turned out that the key was rejected, apparently marked as invalid for this type of activation (I've forgotten the specific wording, but it's easily retrievable if needed). So now I write here, asking if anyone else has tried this on a Pavilion, and if so, with success, and if that, how. Is there some sort of other hidden key I'm missing?
I know the whole OEM situation makes it shady in the first place, but I'd like to know if I'm trying for a cause without the possibility of success. I also found out that HP Support Assistant has something about a product key, and so I ask if that could possibly be different as well.
    Thanks in advance,
    Clayton M.

    Hi,
You should have no problem doing this as long as you observe the following.
    1.  Use a retail ( or a DVD created from a downloaded ISO ) that is the exact same version as the original OEM installation - ie if your notebook came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit this is the retail ( or your own created disc ) you must use.
    2.  You must use the Activation Key found on the COA sticker on the base of your notebook.
    3.  You generally ( well everytime I've done this ) need to use the 'Phone Method' to activate the OS after the installation has completed - see a guide on this Here.
This is a perfectly legitimate process and is supported by Microsoft for Windows 7 - see Here.

  • Satellite C855-S5194 Windows 8 Recovery OS and software

    Hi,
I just bought a Satellite C855-S5194 with Win8  and already created system recovery disks. Now I bought an Office and installed it through Microsoft website (no disk). I would like to create an image for the case the hard drive is broken and not accessible, which includes both the OS and the Office that I installed.
I read from the User Guide that the system recovery disks can restore the OS and preinstalled software, but how about the software that I bought from MS?
Please let me know if there is any way to recover both OS and software. Thank you in advance!

I am not a computer expert,..
So please pay attention, read things carefully, follow any links, think about it, and don't jump to hasty conclusions. Better to do more reading instead of typing a vague message to me.
I'll be repeating myself now, but I'll try to put more words in..
My No. 1 item explains that Windows 8 contains Windows 7's backup. You can google that and learn all about it. In particular, you'll learn that it enables you to create an image of the entire disk on external media. I'll save you some trouble and give you places to do your reading.
Learn more about system image backup
Back up your programs, system settings, and files
Restore your computer from a system image backup
Notice that when you create a system image of the hard drive, you can restore it either to the existing disk or to a brand new disk.
We create one of these images (with third-party tools) every single day for every computer and retain ten generations. Backup is our most important application.
My No. 2 item talks about a repair disk. That's the one you need when you are restoring to a new hard drive. Since Windows is not running, you need a way to begin the restore process. That's one of the functions of the repair disk.
You'll see a link in the Windows 7 File Recovery area like this.
       Create a system repair disc
My No. 3 item talks about fixing things on your existing drive. Feel free to ignore it if you like. Maybe other viewers will find it of interest. When/if you find that Windows is broken, you'll begin to appreciate the various ways of recovering. Refresh is new in Windows 8.

  • HP pavilion dv6 Recovery Partition include preinstalled programs?

Product Name : HP Pavilion dv6-6009tx Entertainment Notebook PC
Operating System installed : Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium
hi, I bought my dv6 laptop from my polytechnic (Singapore), and it came with microsoft office 2010 pre-installed.. Because after a year of usage, the laptop has became a bit slow, so i was thinking of doing a system recovery with the recovery partition included in the laptop. I wish to ask if the preinstalled softwares (microsoft office 2010, visual studio 2010, visual studio 2008, etc) are included in the system recovery image?

is there no way to contact hp support in singapore? because the helpdesk seems to be situated in India, and they have no idea what softwares are installed for laptops that are bought through schools.. and I can't seem to find a correct number which is local. i chose the country as Singapore, but the number I call is forwarded to India helpdesk...
    EDIT:
in the "swsetup" folder, there are alot of programs, the drivers, etc that are preinstalled by HP, but there is no Microsoft Office 2010 and other softwares that is provided by the school included..

  • Where can I get a downloadable copy of Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard? I have my original serial (key) number, but I lost my actual software.

Where can I get a downloadable copy of Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard? I have my original serial (key) number, but I lost my actual software. I am trying to move my Adobe to a new laptop.

Actually, you are out of luck if you are looking for Acrobat Standard. I have run into a problem because the link is for Adobe 9.0 Pro and the serial no. for Std. won't work. I asked Adobe customer (chat) service for a downloadable of the Standard and they said they don't have one. Did you get the Std. version as part of the preinstalled software on your computer? If so, it would be on the recovery media of your old laptop but I don't know how you would retrieve it from there. I am in the exact same boat as you are. Let me know if you find out how to get the media for the Standard by responding on this thread. Thanks.

  • X301 and pre-installed Lenovo Software

    Hello to everybody.
    I'm new in this community.
    I've been a ThinkPad user since 1997 (600, R52, T60p) and now I've bought a X301 with Win 7 32 bit.
Comparing the Laptop with my previous T60p with Win XP, I have some doubts about the configuration and the preinstalled software (Think Vantage Tools) wich comes with it. Maybe someone here can help me.
    My doubts are:
    - why is not possible to get the productivity center and get it in association with the blue button?
    - why is the Active Protection software pre-installed (and loaded at startup), when the HD is an SSD one?
    - the GPS doesn't work (Only one time I've got one satellite in an open environment, where my phone gets full GPS coverage, otherweise normal is 0 satellite)
    - the fingerprint recognition at startup is very very slow
    - every Lenovo software, when launched, opens very slowly (minutes).
This is the situation I've found out of the box. I'm wondering whether the Laptop has left the factory with a wrong configuration (I mean, for Win 7 and SSD) and if I would be able to set everything in the right status through the use of System-Update.
Thank-you to everyone and, please, excuse my terrible English.

The great idea is - to update Media Player. But telling you by secret - it's a bad idea. The really great idea - not to use MP at all. Use Winamp, foobar, VLC(+skins) or iTunes, but not MP...

  • Connecting to internet/new installed software

I have been trouble free with a mac mini using airport express (from a dsl connection) ..
24 hours ago I did a software update for the mac, it was a security topic.. using the preinstalled software update dialogue box.
Since the download, I the computer can not see/search/find the connection to the network.
I switched off the dsl router, and retried after 10 minutes, still nothing.
I have a PC (same house) using the same wireless, and it is fine. (no issues connecting)
Any help? Interesting, prior if I did an update similar to this, a dialogue box usually appeared asking to change my keychain, but this time it has not, perhaps related?

I just picked up a new Core Duo which was maxed out with 2GB RAM. I’m in the process of testing everything else, but I can say with absolute certainty that my network signal is much lower than it ever was using any other computer in my home (and plenty have come and gone).
In the menu, it hovers between one to three ‘bars’.
Fortunately, network access seems to have been consistent so far.

As you can see, toward the end there is some delay in various pings. It isn’t as bad as some samples posted in this thread. A previous ping showed a few more bad results. Firefox (using beta Universal Binary) actually seems to run faster than Safari (believe it or not). Camino runs with blinding speed.
I switched to ‘g’ compatibility only, and tried to disable Bluetooth. Neither ‘solution’ fixed the network strength. It seems reasonable in my eyes that, at this point, it is either a hardware limitation of the Mac Mini, a driver issue, or a combination of both. With such regular issues, I’d be pretty surprised if half are working and half are not. There may be compatibility variance with different routers (I’m using a Linksys).
    Back to testing everything else.

  • Reinstalling TouchSmart software after a clean install / upgrade of Windows 7

I have an HP TouchSmart 610-1150xt.  I have no use for much of the preinstalled software, so I would like to perform a clean install of Windows 7.  At the same time, I would like to upgrade the preinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. In addition to all drivers, I would like to reinstall the TouchSmart software.  I have already made system restore disks to recreate the factory state, if needed.
Ideally, I would also like to reclaim the hard disk space currently occupied by the recovery partition.  During the clean install, I would like to create two separate partitions -- one for the OS and applications; a second for only data.
I have performed numerous clean installs of Windows in the past, but have always had access to copies/licenses of all applications to add to the clean OS.  I have downloaded all drivers from the HP website, but cannot find copies of the preloaded software.  While the application manager currently allows reinstallation of preinstalled software, it is not obvious that this option would be available from the recovery disks (or the recovery partition) after a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate.
Are individual copies of preinstalled software available from HP, perhaps on an FTP site?  If so, how can I download these programs?  If individual copies of these applications are not available for download, can they be accessed from the the recovery media or recovery partition after performing a clean install/upgrade of Windows 7?
    Thanks.

    Did a Google search: here's something I found: http://blog.ehuna.org/2009/01/how_to_reinstall_the_hp_touchs.html  ...

  • Re: Canvio external HDD. What is the preloaded software?

Just installed this 500Gb unit and there are two preinstalled files on it. One, "autorun" at 34 bytes and the second "Software Offer" at 15.6 Mb. Autorun does not run at all and Software Offer just puts up a screen which looks like its intended to show contents of HDD but doesnt. Can these two files be deleted?. No information whatsoever in documentation about either file.
    Thank you

After accessing the drive many times and attempting to run the preinstalled software many times ( and failing) the software eventually did work and came up as an offer to buy discounted Muvee editing software. I,ve no idea why it didnt work on previous attempts. That being the case though I cant see why I cant just delete the "offer".
Many thanks for your help though.
