Preloader immediate vs polite

can someone explain to me the differences between the two settings?
i published a project using the different settings and can't see the differences in load time.
or does it affect the load time at all?

Preloader Freezes, then 'Unresponsive Script' Warning

Hi folks-
This is my first Edge Animate project.
I have created a simple cross-fading 'slide show' with moving text overlays using the most recent upgrade of Edge Animate 3.0.0. 8 slides. The stage isn't that huge: 748x334 pixels. There is one .png overlay with a transparent interior to create the framing; the 8 slides revealed underneath are all Q50 'saved for web' jpgs averaging under 40kB each. I have used one of the simple preloaders in the included library and published for web.
My problem presents regardless of which browser I use (tried the latest versions of Firefox, IE, Safari, Chrome and Opera), and whether I run the published .html solo (hosted on my server), or embedded in the final web page it's destined for. Also, I get the same result when I use Ctrl-Enter from within Edge Animate to preview in my default browser (Firefox).
The problem is that the preloader gif only runs briefly, then freezes, followed by up to a minute of waiting (sometimes even more) before the first slide appears and the animation begins. Solo'd, it's just the frozen animated gif during the wait. Embedded in the final web page, the whole page, including navigation, is unresponsive until after the wait is over.
Depending on the browser, I will get various warnings. In Firefox I get the 'Unresponsive Script' warning and it identifies the unresponsive scripts as:

Sometimes I've selected 'cancel script'; sometimes I've selected 'wait for script to finish'; it doesn't seem to matter which one I select. Sometimes it works immediately after making either selection; In some cases I get the warning message 2-3 times before it finally works.
I've tried both hosting the runtime files myself and on Adobe CDN. I've also tried 'Immediate' and 'Polite' for the preloader. It makes no difference.
I've also disabled all add-ons in Firefox and the result is the same, though it may take less time to recover from the freeze.
I ran a speed test and my current download speed is 13mbps, so I can't believe my paltry image files are taking this long to load...and even if they were, shouldn't the preloader continue to animate during the load?
Has anyone else seen this behavior? I sure am hoping for a solution~!
When I created something similar to this in Flash a couple years ago, it didn't even need a preloader it loaded up and ran so fast...

I know your post has been long time ago, however recently I'm having the same issue you had, except the errors messages you're getting, my preloader stays at the same point unless I hit reload page on the browser and finally loads it. Are you still having the preloader issue even with the most recent Edge Animate version?

Preloader: Only works on first publish?

Ok. I have a simple animation composed of two SVG's. The SVG's are quite simple (random dots simulating a starfield). This oam file will ultimately be added to a Muse project.
I can successfully publish the animation.
I can add the animation to the Muse project...
Publish the Muse project
On Publish, Muse launches a browser window and viola..
I can see the preloader and Edge animation working ok on first publish...
However, if I refresh my browser, the preloader just hangs the animation...
This happens in a variety of browsers (*Our primary build out is Chrome)
Things to note:
The homepage containing the animation does also include Inserted HTML at the footer of the page. Notice the slow marching parade of accolade logos? This is separate HTML/CSS animation and outside of the Edge animation I am referring to above.
I have tried both he "Immediate" and "Polite" options on the preloader setup
The animation is not very large so my expectation at this time would be that the Preloader just blinks real quick and disappears. This would be a satisfactory result.
I have been deleting browser cache during testing
"Host runtime files on Adobe CDN" checked and unchecked; tested both... no change in outcome...
No audio has been added to the project assets; audio is not being used in this project (unfortunately; I like this feature though)

We are migrating from the community edition to ES edition. The application server is Oracle Weblogic running on Solaris SPARC. I have deployed all the jars from the samples lib directory i.e tomcat/webapps/lcds-samples/WEB-INF/lib/. specify /WEB-INF/flex/services-config.xml in your
messagebroker servlet ..
weblogic probebly doesnt accept the relative path or your
weblogic thinks your webapp is in the wrong dir.. I had the same
problem with resin because i started my webapp from the path
/developement/servers/resin/ etc... the problem was fixed when i
used something like c:/development/servers/resin ..

Hi,
This issue is fixed and included in Oracle WebLogic Portal 9.2 MP3, 10.2 and later versions. It is recommended to upgrade to one of those versions to avoid this issue.

If upgrade is not an immediate option, then the following one-off smart update patches can be applied to fix this issue.

Preloader not working in AS3 when viewing in a browser

MY PROBLEM:
Whenever I uploaded these two files: (1) index.swf and (2) index.html, the preloader doesn't work. When viewed in browser it apprears to be white screen. After a couple of minutes, the index.swf appears and the preloader is not appearing as it should be. With (2), I didn't change anything on Dreamweaver just upload the file published by Flash Professional CS4.
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? Can anyone help me with this. I've uploaded (PUT) the files through Dreamweaver with a testing server configured.

Do you have any idea what is really happening? Because I really wanted to have a loading text only before the whole site is loaded. The SIMULATED DOWNLOAD in Flash CS4 is working great but whenever copy it in my hosting server and view it in my browser the preloader is not working.

Preloading? kglad?

I've had lots of issues using the method of creating a preloader swf for my websites. An example is the other thread I have going on here. How can I self preload my background.swf (the swf that contains the navigation and other code). Everything I've tried doesn't work. It always preloads everything and then my preloader shows up at 80%.

My assets in frame 1 are down to 12 kb's. I have the st

Problem with Preloader in my Flash AS2 Game

I have been using this tutorial to make a preloader:

I have run into one problem though.
When I simulate the download, it just shows the background color of the game while it loads, and when it finished loading, it shows the loading screen fully loaded. I have followed the tutorial exactly, except added my file names into the AS2 code.
Here is the ActionScript in Frame 1 I have for the preloader:

Your description of what you've done and the code you show does not match what the tutorial says to do and what code to use... (there is no stopAndGoTo() function in Flash).
Right-click the second frame on the upper layer labeled Actions and select Actions. Copy and paste the code below to make our preloader functional.

I am trying to install a 3D modeling program and it immediatly crashes

I have been trying to install 3d modeling programs from daz3d.com for some time now and have been asking them for help as well. There basic answer was that there had to be something wrong with my machine. No matter what program i try to install as soon as i open the installer it immediatly crashes.

No I didn't even read through your post, to long.
You said that "No matter what program I try to install, as soon as the installer opens it crashes". Were you talking about the install for this/these 3D programs or ANY program? As it is worded it sounded like ANY program. That tells me there is a problem with your Mac, software or hardware.
Now you say others install programs, which is it. Programs other then the 3D ones install or no programs install?
Could simply be your Mac is to old to run these programs and the installer knows that. You never said what model or year Mac it is.

Hi,
I upload a website and I have problems with the preloader did it in AS3. It starts after two or three minutes. I have a MC with an animation of 100 frames and the dynamic text of the percent. The preloader is located in the 1 frame to the 10, I mean, first frame with the actions and the other three layers (text, MC and background) with a lenght of 10. The movie has 525 frames. 503 error occurs.

Ben (support) - We already know that's the case as you stated the 503 errors don't happen all the time if it were issue on the server the the 503 would stay.
Customer - so our 2/3 max concurrent users can max out the 200 sessions

Customer - is there a timeout ?
Ben (support) - no that's not a time out concurrent connections are a little different then sessions and or connections. Lets say for an example you have 5 images on your site and 5 7 users come to your site this is not 7 concurrent connections but 35. They
do close after awhile hence why the 503 error comes and goes. You can have these connections close sooner using code but this is something you have to research using your favorite search engine

Customer - any changes from your side ? lowering of the value maybe ?
Customer - I'm trying to understand what I can report as a significant change

Analysis :
The link provided tells us : All Plesk accounts are limited to 200 simultaneous visitors.
From what Ben (support) says and a little extra research, if those aren't visitors but connections then it's quite easy to max out, especially if the connections aren't closed when finished using. I'd suggest forwarding this to Kasem to see what he thinks.

Strange Case on Security Rights and Dynamic SQL (Execute Immediate)

Hi friends, (forgive me if I write with wrong grammar and sentence, I not used English for daily)
I got a weird trouble yesterday.
I created a package (we can called it X, OK!?) which containing Execute Immediate Statement, that function to delete a table (we can called it Y).
Several days ago, it's worked, but yesterday it wasn't. Last things happened before was recreate those table, and regrant to a role which including user account that execute package X.
Error Msg shown is ORA-00942 : Table or view does not exist. After rechecked and rechecked, I found nothing that could trigger that error, I used DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE to debug and show what statement resulted and executed, I cut and paste, and it's worked. I created anonymous PL/SQL Block, and wrote it and executed it, and worked.
Finally, today, We Grant explicitly those table to user account Y, not via Role, ... and it's work. Interesting thing I think :P
And, I revoke, execute package and run. I think, there's something about Oracle he..he.. :D .
Can somebody help me and explain me the reason of that strange symptomp? and right solution? I must know it, because several days again, it's launched / install.
