Preloader not showing until fully loaded..?

Hello all!
I'm having trouble with my preloader, it seems to not be working. What happens is that, when I simulate the download, my flash window just stays continues to be the background color, and then after it fully loads, switches over to my preloader frame. I'm sorry if any of this doesn't make sense, as I am new to Flash and all of the lingo

if you're using timeline coding, typically your preloader only would be in frame 1 along with the code to animate your preloader display and furnish load-progress info to the user.  nothing else should be in frame 1.
if you do that, your preloader will be displayed AFTER all assets marked for export in frame 1.  ie, if you have embedded font(s), objects with classes etc
if you have a lot of assets exporting in frame 1, you will need to either change that export frame or make an external preloader (a main swf with preloader only that loads your current swf minus the preloader).

    You can't do anything, you should just wait.

    I'm getting a similar error over here. Sporadically some sites won't load specifically in Safari; they open just fine in Opera, Firefox and Camino though. This is really annoying.
    It's pretty clear it's nothing network related…

    notification on apps are not showing until i open them

    Hello captin007,
    Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like apps show notification only after you open the app. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
    Understanding notifications on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
    If you're not receiving notifications for a specific app, try these steps:
    Verify that the app supports notifications.
    After installing an app or restoring a backup to a different iOS device, open the app to begin receiving notifications. If the app requires entering or logging in to an account, you will need to do this before receiving notifications.
    Check Settings > Notification Center to ensure that the app is configured for notifications. If notifications do not appear in the Notification Center, verify that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day,

    I have pictures that will not show until I select them. They show a blank square before selection. Can anyone advise me how to fix it?

    Open View Options for the folder in which the picture resides; the Desktop counts as a folder for this purpose.
    In the View Options window, checkmark the item "Show icon preview".
    Note that this setting is not global; it affects only the folder for which it is set.

  • Youtube videos doesn't play until fully loaded

    Youtube videos doesn't play until they are fully loaded. It doesn't work for ANY streamed video, not just Youtube. It happens on both Firefox and IE. I tried to uninstall Flash and re-install it, but it didn't help. The only thing that solves it is restarting the computer, but it just returns after some time.
    How can I fix it?

    Hi, This is the info on the hardware acceleration and system requirements. http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html
    The video card affects playback:Although Flash Player can display high-quality video and images by itself, hardware-accelerated scaling uses the video or graphics card on your computer to display images and video more clearly and quickly than Flash Player can on its own.
    Not everyone can use it and that's why turning it off helps. Since you have it turned off, then this no longer affects you.
    They may be some add on in the browser that is causing this. Kaspersky had been using a URL Advisor that is an "extension"
    but whether you have it I don't know. In IE, in the manage add ons, look for "Show"(very light text) and look in all 4 categories for it.
    In FF, it may be in the extensions. I'd look in all, addons, plugins & extenstions.
    If you find it, disable it. If you don't find it, then all I could suggest is to disable all IE add ons except Shockwave Flash Object and Java and see it there is an improvement. Then do the same with FF.
    Hope you find out what is causing it.

  • Preloader Not Showing....

    I have a working preloader that I made. The preloader shows
    up fine if I go to the site through the published html file. The
    thing I want to do is make an image link and when you click that,
    have it open the swf file in a seperate window. I have done all of
    that but for some reason the preloader does NOT show up when I do
    that. The site still works fine but I see a blank screen in a popup
    window until it loads. Its in frame 1 and all but idk whats wrong.
    Thanks

    Maybe the proloader is taking much longer to load than the other stuff in the game. Maybe.

  • Horizontal Axis not showing when initial loading

    Hi,
    We are on Dashboard 4.1 SP3.
    I have drilling down configured on the Dashboard report. The issue is when initial loading the dashboard. the horizontal text are not showing completly, untill I click the other column of the parent column, it shows the child horizontal text.
    Could you please help.
    Thanks,

    Hi Dave,
    There are some issues still in displaying the horizontal axis.
    1844514 - Dashboard X axis labels are cutoff
    As a workaround what you can do, use the range slider to make the date text to display vertically rather than horizontal or you can enlarge the size of the chart at the max to make them to display vertical.
    Hope this helps!!!

  • Videos won't play until fully loaded when using Flash Player

    Hello,
    When I try to play videos using flash player, it usually takes a very long time for them to start playing, because they do not start until the entire video is loaded. However, disabling flash player and using something like Quicktime allows me to start watching a video once enough of it has buffered.
    I'm currently using Windows 7 x64, and it happens across browses (Firefox, Chrome, IE). I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the latest version of Flash player several times, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

    How video is played is determined from the content/server, not flash player itself.  Are you seeing this happen with YouTube?

  • How can I get a preloader to launch a main (external) swf file, and have the main file remove the preloader once it's fully loaded?

    Using Flash MX, ActionScript 2:
    I’ve been struggling for several weeks, trying to get a preloader to work on a large (~80 MB) photo portfolio file (using the method where the preloader is on frame 1 of the file, and when loading is completed, it jumps to the content).  I’ve done countless tutorials, and none seem to work on my presentation.  I even tried downloading a trial version of CS4 so I could export every one of the file’s library movie clips and images so that they load on Frame 2 (a feature MX doesn’t have).  It takes about 20 seconds for the .exe to load from a CD, and no matter which preloader construction I use, it always seems to appear in the last few seconds before the movie loads completely.  During the initial wait time, there’s no indication that anything is happening:  no hourglass on the mouse, and not even a blank screen. This is only true for the first time that the file is loaded from the CD; on subsequent loads, the file must already be in RAM, because it loads within a few seconds.
    I decided that I’m going to try and make the file which the user clicks on (one named Windows_Portfolio.exe or another called Mac_Portfolio.hqx) the preloader so that it would be tiny, and would load instantly.  I want that file to launch the external huge portfolio file (renamed files.swf), keep track of its loading progress, and cycle through a slideshow (10 thumbnail images that transition into each other over 100 frames) proportionally, based upon the percentage of files.swf that had been loaded.
    I assume that there should be a loadMovie() or a loadMovieNum() command on the preloader’s timeline to launch files.swf, and that the initial code of files.swf should have some sort of this._parent._visible=false or other way of deleting the preloader on level0.  Can anyone explain the steps to me, or direct me to a good Flash MX tutorial that explains how to launch another external swf from a preloader .exe, keep track of its load progress, and delete the preloader .exe once the external swf had been loaded?
    Also, I’ve read that, using this construction on a CD, every file has to be in the same place, and that I can’t nest files.swf in a folder named “files,” and reference it with files/files.swf.  Is this true?
    Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

    If you know JavaScript (ECMA Script) then you might be able to get it done applying a for loop and a random function
    to the for loop if you know how to get a page-loaded request into JavaScript.
    But an easier solution, if you know ActionScript 3.0, and if your SWF's don't need to be recoded and can load into a "container" SWF would be to create a master FLA file that loads your SWF's in a random fashion using Math.random() as a multiplier, though you won't see much variation if you only have 2-3 SWF's to load--if you had more than that then you would begin to benefit from the random function's capabilities.  In ActionScript 3.0 use the load() method along with addChild() to load the SWF and add it to the stage.  You will be able to search for specifics on how to code the FLA properly by using Flash's Adobe Help tool and also using an internet search.
    -markerline
    P.S. Once you have the master FLA coded you can Publish it to an SWF and an HTML and if the container/master SWF needs to be in a page with other content you can simply copy and paste the object and embed tags for the container SWF from the published HTML into any place on your master HTML that you need it to reside.  You can then use CSS to control placement of the SWF object if it is in a div tag.

  • ADF Popup not showing at fragment load

    Hi,
    I am calling a bean method in getter of command link at the load by binding it to a command link defined in bean, so when this fragment is called from other fragment then
    in this method i m doing some checks ,and based on particular condition i have popup.show but it doesnt show the popup and code is not raising any exception.
        public RichCommandLink getC1() {
            populatedata();
            return c1;
      Now in populatedata ,I have popup shown for some conditions but when fragment is getting called for first time it doesnt show the popup ,but same populatedata is called from button on the fragment
      so when i click on button ,this popup is shown properly.
    So as I understand first time getC1 gets fired when fragment was getting loaded ,so how to make sure popup is displayed during that ..
    public void populatedata()
    if ....
                        System.out.println("showing popup");
                       RichPopup.PopupHints p2 = new RichPopup.PopupHints();
                         p1.show(p2);
                        System.out.println("after showing popup");
    In logs i see both system out messages , can you guys suggest me how to get this popup displayed when fragment loading for first time and getter for c1 is getting fired.
    Jdeveloper version :11.1.2.3.0
    Regards,

    Hi,
    have you debugged the method call to prove that it is called at all? Instead of a component binding as a trigger, can you try a value property e.g. on a hidden output text component?
    Since you are on JDeveloper 11g R2, the use of JSF 2 system events also becomes possible. The system event would be added to a component on the fragment (e.g. the fragment root layout container) and then listen for the render pre-render phase.

  • Animated splash does not show after initial load

    I am trying to get an animated splash to show the form is loading. When I use an animated splash it shows as expected on the initial load but on subsequent loads of same form, it does not. Static splash shows every time. What can I do to get the animated splash to show every time a form is opened? Is it possible?

    Kami,
    I'm facing the same problem.
    Could you please provide a link to 'doc 376241.1'. I haven't been able to find it. Or maybe you could copy-paste the code in here?
    Thanks in advance for this,

  • Flash preloader not showing

    Hi,
    I have an odd problem, I've used a very basic preloader for my Flash file (CS5) it works as expected in Flash Test using the simulated download feature but when I upload everything to the remote server, the preloader doesn't show, there is a delay while the file loads then the animation plays but no sign of the preloader.
    To look, go here: http://www.rotricconstructions.com.au/#construction_home   click on the Clients tab then click "Click here to view project examples" a jQuery box to the left contains the Flash file a photo slideshow.
    Thanks for any suggestions.
