Premeire Elements V7

1.  When pulling a file from the task panel, to review or drag and drop, a pesky thing happens.  The files all pop back to the top.  If you are retriving the 62nd file out of 100 files it pops back to the first group.  Any way of making the task panel stay at the file location you are working in, and stop this from happening?
2.  When starting a new project, all of the files from past projects are still in the task panel.  Any way of clearing these with having to go in and delete all of them by hand?
3.  Lastly, do the avantages in the newer version, V9, improve the program so that I  may want to consider buying it and replacing my current V7?

I don't think there is a neet trick to change this behavior, but here are some ideas on how to make use of the Organizer:
You can filter by >newest or oldest files< first, hide any media you don't need, like pictures or music files. You could even create separate catalogs for your projects ( I don't recommend this since it is more complicated in Version 7).
Best way of doing it would be to use >Tagging< and / or create Albums for your project. That lets you filter to see only your current media. You should be able to find some tutrials on how to use the Organizer.

  • Premeire Elements 12 can't see disc menus added to project in PE 10

I have a project that I created in Premiere Elements 10. I just installed Premeire Elements 12, and while I was able to open my project, PE 12 apparently can't see the disc menu I created in PE 10. I tried to recreate the menu, but when I installed PE 12, the install wizard apparently failed to install the menus.
I have the installation CD. I just spent/wasted about 45 minutes with a chat agent who either couldn't understand what I needed to know how to do, or didn't know how to do it either, and never transferred me to there supervisor after saying they would. The agent wanted me to download the components, which means I have to purchase them, when I already purchased the expensive software (which should include the components needed to use it).  If I try to run the install wizard again to install the missing menu component, it first tries to uninstall Premiere Elements.
Does anyone here know how to use the installation CD to install missing/additional components on a computer that is not connected to the internet?

Project created in earlier version does not always open with later version. So, the classical comeback is to finish a project in the program in which it is created. Do you have Premiere Elements 10 as a fall back? Even the path back may not be possible. If you have taken the original 10 project and edited it in 12, you should not be able to go back and edit in 10 again. But, let us keep that in mind, but see if we can find a way to open the 10 project successfully in 12, menus et al.
Both 10 and 12 have the Blinking Lights Theme, so we are not dealing with a discontinued theme. And, Blinking Lights is not one of the photoshop.com plus content. Good.
In 12, when you go to Tools/Movie Menu/select Holidays and Events/Blinking Lights, do you find the thumbnail for Blinking Lights with a blue band at the top right corner of the thumbnail. If so, what happens when you right click the blue band and select Download Now? Do you have your antivirus and firewall turned Off? You cannot use Blinking Lights with the blue band. Only an incomplete set of assets for the Blinking Lights installs with the program. All have to download essential files from within Movie Menu in order to get that menu to work.
Also, we want to know what is going on with this theme's assets at the hard drive save location. To do that, go to
    Local Disk C
    Program Data
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    12.0
    Online
    DVD Templates
    All_Lang
    Holidays and Events
    Blinking Light
and then tell us what you find in the Blinking Light Folder. Any .psd files? Before or after the Download Now?
In the next hour or so, I am going to do a complete run through of creating a project with Blinking Lights menus in 10 and trying to open it with Blinking Lights menu in 12 in order to make sure that there are no special glitches in the path.
Definitely be set up for Run As Admininstrator.
More later. I will give you a detailed account on my results.
    Thanks for the follow up.

It is not clear if your Premiere Elements 10 was a downloaded purchase from Adobe or from an authorized reseller.
However, do you have a purchased serial number for the product?
If you have the purchased serial number, you can download Premiere Elements 10 tryout files from the following web site
and insert your purchased serial number in them during installation to make them your own.
Photoshop Elements 10 Direct Download Links: Free Trials, Premiere | ProDesignTools
It is important to read and carry out carefully that web site's "Note: Very Important Instructions" in order to avoid an Access Denied message.
    Just in case message....
But there could be a complication with regard to files from any source.
Adobe allows you to have the purchased activated serial number on no more than 2 of your computers.
If your failed computer has Premiere Elements trapped on it representing 1 purchased serial number, you will be able to installed
the purchased serial number on only one more computer. If you have the purchased activated serial number trapped on 2 failed
computers, then you will not be able to use that purchased serial number on another computer until you deactivate at least one
on one of the other two computers. In this case, it is only Adobe who might be able to help you. None of this may apply to you. I mention
it as a just in case caution.
Please let us know if you have any questions or need clarification.
    Thank you.

  • How to get FLV on On2VP6 codec from Premeire Element 11,

    Good Afternoon,
We are currently using Premeire Elements 11 in conjunction with Captivate 6 to publish our elearning modules.
We edit our videos in Premeire. I need to be able to change the .flv codec to be On2VP6 so our modules can be published using HTML5.
Can anyone help me with this?

Looking at all of the FLV Share/Publish settings, I cannot find a way to alter the CODEC. Maybe I am just missing something in PrE 11, and will feel foolish, when someone points it out.
In PrPro, one can choose the FLV CODEC, such as On2VP6. In recent versions of PrPro, I think that it is the only option, and that Sorenson Spark has been removed completely. I just do not find the CODEC choice in FLV output settings.
Good luck, and wish that I had more, but others will likely show me the error of my ways, and be more helpful to you,

  • Premeire Elements 10: Unknown Error 2131042560: Burn to folder didn't work

I'm using Premeire Elements 10. I kept getting Unknown Error 2131042560 at the 99% point in the burn process. I tried burning my project to a folder and was successful. I then copied the folder onto a DVD, which was also successful. However, the resultant DVD won't play in my DVD player.  How do I fix this?

Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no DVD player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help

  • Gradient Fade in Premeire Elements 7?

I want to fade one video into another so that both clips play at full opacity except at the fade point.

  • Does Premeire Elements 11 make a slideshow with different background themes?

Does Premeire Elements 11 make a slideshow with different background themes?

    Em Smither
Do you actually have Premiere Elements 11 Windows at this time? And, have you used any prior version of the program? I ask so that I van gauge how deeply to go into different aspects of the program. So, please excuse if I generalize now on matters that you already are aware of.
Premiere Elements is a video editor that will support the use of your own stills and video and music on its Timeline tracks to export to file or
    burn to disc.
The Instant Movie can be broken apart once created. And,that Instant Movie feature is editable, leaving components that you want, adding others, and removing others, and you can include your own music in it.
But if you prefer to start from the beginning you can import your photos and music and then add your own assets to the tracks..title templates, backgrounds, etc probably along the line of what one of those Instant Movies would be aimed at. But, I do not see a choice for selecting a particular theme for the slideshow other than that. However, there is an opportunity to select a theme for the disc menus if the export is a burn to disc or part of the webDVD feature.
Did you have in mind, something like placing a theme based background on Video 1 and then on upper tracks directly above scaling your photos so that the background can be seen around them?
Please let me know if I am still not targeting your question.
    Thanks.

  • Adobe Premeire Elements 8 beginner - DVD, Book, Magazine help?

    Hi,
I know the basis principles from other programs, but never used adobe premeire :- elements/photoshop, and just purchased the duel package.
I would like to start from scratch and learm properly.  I've tried magazines and they all seem to be photoshop based which I do want to learn, but want to start with Adobe Premiere Elements 8 first.
Is there a magazine, which deals with the basics first then builds up to intermediate/advanced?
Or the same as a DVD?
Or should I just hit PC World and look at the array of books?, which again, most seem to photoshop based.
I've look at podcasts, and found a couple, but they are short and only cover a subject or two.
Any help / links would be much appreciated.
    Kind regards
    Andrew

Well, at the risk of sounding like I'm pounding my own drums, I've sort of spent the last five years laboring on this forum (with over 5,000 posts!), writing books and even creating my own web site to help people get up on running!   I'd recommend you check some of it out.
Http://Muvipix.com is a site dedicated to helping people get up and running with the program. There's a gathering of probably the world's most knowledgeable and helpful people on the Community forum -- and you'll find lots of free tips, tutorials, royalty-free music and stock footage and motion backgrounds there -- even more (like over 1000) if you subscribe to the site. I've created a free set of tutorials called Basic Training with Premiere Elements that should definitely get up and running with the basics. There's an intermediate series of 10 more tutorials that you can access if you subcribe to the site, plus dozens more on specific subjects.
I've also written a number of books on both Premiere Elements and on the Photoshop Elements/Premiere Elements combo. They're available on Amazon.com and through the Muvipix.com store.
Check out those reviews on Amazon!

  • Premeire Elements 12 slow to start?

Re: Very slow package start up.
We have 6 licence's for premeire elements on site. However, sometimes they can take up to 6-7 minutes to start. (thats just the package, nothing else).
Although in my office I get a start up time of around 5-7 seconds usually.
Does the adobe try doing licence look-ups on every start up or do we have a different problem!,
and is there any way to get a faster opening for the elements package. ?
    Thanks

With your Premiere Elements 12, I will be particularly interest in whether you are trying to run it on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit. So looking forward to your answers to SG's questions in that regard.
But, I would ask these additional specific questions about the symptoms....
    a. you cite slow startup
    b. what about time that it takes the program to close after you have closed the program.
    c. prolonged times to view new project dialog after you go the route File Menu/New/Project
In spite of the slow startups (6 to 7 minute...), after the program/project finally opens, is the performance related to import, editing, and export affected?
Looking forward to your answers to SG's questions. Then for mine if you have time when your discussions with him are concluded.
    Thanks.

    Order of Troubleshooting...
    (1) Video Card Driver Problem
Does the computer use a NVIDIA GeForcce video card/graphics card? If so, stop and read the announcement at the top of this forum.
It describes the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA video card driver problem and gives the fix. For your convenience the following is a
copy/paste of the Announcement. Very important to rule in or out the known Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver issue.
Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing Premiere
Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling back the video card
driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow glitches specific
to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies to you, then the “user to user”
remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of the problems. The typical driver roll back has
gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective
action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1317675
Older NVIDIA GeForce drivers can be found

    (2) "Movie" Properties
We need to know the properties of your source media, such as,
    Video compresson
    Audio compression
    Frame Size
    Frame Rate
    Interlaced or Progressive
    File Extension
    Pixel Aspect Ratio
We could direct you to video and audio properties readout programs, but let us see if we can get the information needed from knowing
the brand/model/settings for the camera that recorded the video.
Please check out these 2 important concerns, let us see what you have, and then we can decide what next. The video card driver matter may fix all.
Do not hesitate to ask if there is anything that you need help to understand what is needed.
    Thank you.

  • How do I add animations to titles using premeire elements 10

I took a multimedia class at my school which used premeire cs4 and i learned in the class how to make titles and pictures move and do animations using keyframes(like moving on and off screen and spinning etc.) also I don't see how to use green screen effects with this software it seems like it really does not seem like elements 10 does not do that much, or is it just my imagination. and while I'm at it can I get Media encoder for free?

Yes, you can set up keyframed animations in Premiere Elements, just as you can in Premiere CS4. Just right-click on a clip on your timeline, select Show Properties and open the keyframe workspace, as a show you in my books and in my free PDF article "Basic Keyframing" on Premiere Elements support site Muvipix.com.
    http://muvipix.com/products.php?searchphrase=basic+keyframing&btn.x=0&btn.y=0
The PC version of the program includes a number of Chroma Key effects, including Green Screen and Blue Screen. However, the Mac version includes only Videomerge, a semi-automatic Chroma Key tool. Are you on a Mac or a PC?
The Media Encoder is included only with Pro versions of the software, not Elements. However, you can output dozens of formats from Premiere Elements. All you need to do is decide where you ultimately plan to display your video.

  • Unlink Audio & Video greyed out in Premeire Elements 13 (Windows 8.1) [new user]

I posted (or at least I thought the post worked) this question Mar.27th but I can't find it or any replies I may have gotten so if anyone knows its whereabouts I'd appreciate you're telling me how to see it so I won't have 2 threads running for the same question. My question is: why is the option to unlink the audio and video tracks greyed out when I'm trying to substitute part of an audio clip (without ruining the synchronization between the existing audio and video). I'm working with a saved "projectX.prel" file. I noticed when I opened a new project that the UNLINK option is active. This seems contrary to logic i.e wouldn't the unlink action be more likely to be needed when working on an existing file as opposed to when working on a brand new file? How can I separate the 2 components (audio & video) so I can edit just the audio clip without the UNLINK procedure working? Would really appreciate any help anyone can offer with any of the foregoing. Thanks.

    garryw
Thanks for the reply. Glad that suggestion C worked for you.
Is there any remote possibility that the video and audio are really unlinked to start.
Let us take suggestion A, you say that Link Audio and Video is active choice for what you believe to a linked video audio on the Timeline.
You have your clip in the Expert workspace and the clip is not selected as represented in screenshot 1.
If you click on the Video 1 portion of the clip, does the video portion and audio portion highlight to look like what you see in screenshot 2
where the video and audio portion both look highlighted.
Or, if you click on the Video 1 portion of the clip, is it just the video portion that looks highlighted and the audio part
continues to look unhighlighted? As seen in the next screenshot 3?

    rtischler
Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 on Windows XP 32 bit
Do not give up. Let us see what we can do to get your project moving forward if possible. Several important consideration.
    1. Computer resources and a large project.
Your Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 is only a 32 bit application running in a 32 bit computer environment and as such has all the limitations of 32 bit system, namely maximum supported installed RAM = 4 GB of which typically 3.2 to 3.0 or less of that are available. You have a 2 hour plus which is maxing out the capacity of the disc. You have a lot of menu pages (1 main menu and 7 scene menu pages). The location of your Scratch Disks and how much free hard drive space there might be factoring into all this also.
    2. Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 will allow no more than 25 menu markers on that Timeline. That is the same for Premiere Elements 10 and 11 as well.
The history of that can be found
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE: Menu Marker Limitation/Implementation Update
So the number of main menu and scene menu pages will be impacted on how many pages 25 markers fit into.
But, you are not losing Timeline content in this regard. The Timeline content after 25th marker is there, it just does not have a menu button to access it.
You pick the 25th scene and then let it play out to the end of the Timeline. If you want less pages put still want 25 menu markers, then pick a menu (or create one) that has more buttons per page designed into it).
    Things to do:
    a. Check the Scratch Disks (Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disk for location and free hard drive space.
Check for pile ups in the Adobe Premiere Elements Preview Files Folder, Media Cache Folder.
Go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Media and hit the Clean button in the Media Cache Database area.
    b. Find a menu or create one with more buttons per page.
    c. In the burn dialog, tell us what you see for Space Required and Bitrate (with check mark next to "Fit Content to Available Space".
    d. Help to focus me in on
The video cuts out a 1:31:54 no matter what I do, the video I created is 2:04:15.  I also never get a menu no matter what I do, even though it shows a menu in the creation area and when I preview it.
Do you mean that you play back the Timeline in the Edit area monitor and the playback refused to go beyond the 01:32:54;00 mark?
    or
Where do you never get a menu...in the DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc that you burn to disc using Share/Disc/DVD disc?
    e. What happens if you make a copy of this project (File Menu/Save A Copy) and then use the copy to delete 1/2 the project? Can you
now burn that reduced Timeline to DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc with menu without problem?
Please consider. If you get a far as what is indicated in your screenshot, you should be close to success.
    Thanks.
