  • AE and Premier crash after adding from bin to timeline

Tech support was not able to help, I hope you guys can.
I can open and convert previous version projects and they are fine. However whenever I add a new clip from the bin After Effects and Premier crash. This is on a new system, and all drivers are updated.
    ver CS3
    WinXP Pro SP2
    Gigabyte EP35C-DS3R motherboard
    Intel q6600 quadcore cpu
    3.5gb ram
    GeForce 8400 GS videocard

It does it on all files. I thought it may be a codec issue too (Canopus btw) but it does it on still images as well like psd and tif. As soon as I click on a clip in the bin it crashes. I didn't think the prefs could be an issue as it is a new install, but I will try thanks.

  • Capture video from camera (Sony HVR-A1U) to Premier -Premier Crashes

I have Firewire connected between the video camera and my mac. Usually I capture my clips easily - they are shot on mini HDV tape. But today it causes the whole program to freeze and I have to Force Quit. The camera is on and connections on before I go into Capture.
When I begin to play the video before hitting Record -Premier stalls and a message "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premier Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your project".
I am starting a new project, but even in a previous project it crashes. What is the problem? Is there any other way to access the video without using Premier while I resolve the issue.

All the settings are proper, like i said, it captures with the apple codec for HDV but that is only good for on the fly. iMovie captures it fine, it's just when the settings in FCP are set for HDV it won't capture picture through log and capture.
Are you guys actually reading my post??? I have given all the information that i can, settings are proper, so the post so far are completely redundant.

  • Premier crashes once video is imported.

I import .mp4 or .mov files and it crashes.  This is Adobe Premier Pro CC.  I have Win 7 SP1 X64 16 RG ram, 350 GB free HD space, intel core i7

That LOOKS like a graphic adapter driver problem
•What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
•What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
•Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
•For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
•-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself

  • Photoshop elements and premier crash all the time

Can any body help me. I am new to photoshop. My wife buoght the package with photoshop elements 8 and premier 8.
I have installed it on both my computers because i thought originally it could be my desktop machine not being able to cope with the software. My laptop is very current and is very capable of running it. The only thing is it is running vista rather than XP.
The problem is that when i start to use either program or in the middle of trying to, it crashes on me and shuts down. This is starting to get annoying and i am wondering if i am doing something wrong or the program is faulty.
I want to learn this product as it is ment to be the best but at the moment i am not convinced

Unfortunately, there are many reasons why PSE might crash, and often it is hard to diagnose quickly the reason for the crash.   Here are some steps you can take to try to fix the problem:

  • Adobe Premier Crashing in w7 64 bit

Hello people... im new to adobe premier and i recently downloaded the trial version. The problem im having is after a short time within the program it crashes. For example i can watch maybe 2 minutes of video within the program or render the video to 40.98%.
    I have a dell xps 8100 series computer. Core i5 650 @ 3.20GHz, 3 gb ddr3 1333MHz, 7200 RPM HDD.
    Any help would be apreciated.
    Thankyou.

I think you probably need to give a little more information about what you're trying to play and do.  Here are some general thoughts and suggestions.
3gb of RAM is okay, but by no means spacious.  If you're trying to edit a really long clip that is HD, that could be part of your problem.  Check to see how much free ram you have when you have Premiere Pro open.
Are the clips/media you're editing MPEG2 based media?  If so, the audio waveform needs to be generated first and so again, if it's a long clip, it may be still doing this as you're trying to export something.
The trial does not have all of the codecs that ship with the product, so this may be part of the problem.
Are you using a c: drive for OS, media and Premiere Pro application?  That's a bad thing...
Have you tried trashing your prefs and clearing your cache? http://blogs.adobe.com/genesisproject/2009/11/having_weird_behavior_with_an.html
I don't know if you can 'update' the trial, but if you go under the help menu, you can try.
look at your system logs to get a clue on what's causing the crash.
That's what I have off the top of my head.  Hope it helps.

Any fixes? Updates did not work: Adobe After Effects CS6 11.0.1 Update
    Installation failed. Error Code: U44M2P7

Doesn't sound like it is a fault on Adobe's end as this sort of thing has worked fine for me (and thousands of others) something on your computer got messed up.
Do you know what changed between when it worked and when it stopped working? Windows update? Install any software or codec packs?
Wait. You haven't told us much info. Did it ever work before? What are your system specs?
You could uninstall, run the Adobe CC Cleaner, and reinstall.

  • Premier Pro CC 2014 Crashing on OSX 10.8.5

    Hey there,
Im having the issue of Premier crashing constantly. I cant seem to figure out why. Is anyone else having this issue?
    Lach

I have submitted at least 4 crash reports when they have come up and resulted in the prompt to submit them.  I do not have hard copies of them accessible currently.  I know that two of them resulted in PPro being unable to save the current state of the project and at least the other two were "recoverable" after the prompt that an error was encountered and the project would be saved.  A bug report has also been submitted.
This is extremely reminiscent of the AE CC2014 behavior that seemed to "build" to a GPU-related memory leak crash after scrubbing audio.  With that memory leak the system started to feel sluggish, performance dwindled, then the software would either crash or lockup - sometimes with a crash prompt, other times completely unrecoverable.  That's the same behavior that I'm experiencing with PPro CC 2014.2 currently.
At this time I have not switched the render to software only, though that will be the next step.  A few effects/plugins are GPU accelerated and I really don't want to lose performance.  I also have not rebuilt the project, exported XMLs and re-imported, or any of the other typical workaround solutions.  I am just trying to get a project finished and meet a deadline - those methods more often than not require rebuilding a lot of the finishing parts of a project.

  • Premier and AE crash after adding from bin to timeline

Tech support was not able to help, I hope you guys can.
I can open and convert previous version projects and they are fine. However whenever I add a new clip from the bin After Effects and Premier crash. This is on a new system, and all drivers are updated.
    WinXP Pro SP2
    Gigabyte EP35C-DS3R motherboard
    Intel q6600 quadcore cpu
    3.5gb ram
    GeForce 8400 GS videocard

Tell us more about the clip.
Chances are you have a defective installation and will have to completely wipe out all references to CS3 (not the projects) and reinstall.

  • Why dose Premier (CS6) Crash when I change the Audio Hardware to System Default?

I am running a brand new Imac, i7 3.4ghz, 32gb ram and updated.  Full Adobe Production suite installed and updated.  My Audio interface is the Akai EIE Pro with the latest 2.8.18 drivers installed.
If a launch Audition, After effects, Logic, they all see the audio interface and work seemlessly.  When I launch Premier it does not see the EIE Pro interface and when I change the Default Audio interface to System Default Input/output Premier crashes immediately.  I have tried an earlier version of the EIE Pro drivers with the same results.  It doesn't make sense to me that it would work fine in After Effects but not Premier.
Here is the following crash report.    Anybody else have this issue or have any ideas on what to do?
    Cheers!!
    Steve

Steve, the partial crash log is an unofficial unwritten rule around here.  The cause of the crash is usually near the top of the log anyway.  The hardware profile is at the bottom.  That can be helpful some times.
But, most of the contents only make sense to software engineers.
Search for the .plist without ".plist" in the search criteria.
    Or, look in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons
    Best of luck,
    Jim
Look, I just edited my post after you replied to it, John.

  • Premier cc crashes fatally on opening

Just got a the new Mac Pro that looks like a garbage can.
    OSX 10.9
    3.5Ghz 6 way CPU
    1TB flash, 64GB RAM
PCI Card: AMD FirePro D700, Display Controller, Slot-1
PCI Card: AMD FirePro D700, Display Controller, Slot-2
    Adobe Premier CC
I downloaded it once, then uninstalled it and installed it again. Still every single time I try and open Premier it crashes and gives me the crash report. It looks like the CUDA driver, but I have the latest CUDA drivers installed. The machine is fresh today, with a fresh install of Creative Cloud. All of the other Creative Cloud apps work, with the GPU and CUDA enabled. Photoshop screams, but Premier crashes. I can't even get in.
    Application Specific Information:
    /Library/Frameworks/CUDA.framework/Versions/A/CUDA
    0   com.apple.CoreFoundation
    0x00007fff94065c5f CFStringGetLength + 15
    1   com.apple.CoreFoundation
    0x00007fff94078e58 CFStringCompare + 24
    2   CUDA
    0x0000000112fedfff GetNVDADriverModelString + 287
    3   CUDA
    0x0000000112ff1823 cuda_driver_initializer + 99
Any ideas? Everything else seems to work fine.

    Kevin,
I have had similiar issues today, however this fix did not work. I am currently working off a new Macbook Pro and there is no Cuda installed.
Interestingly enough, the Premiere has been working well for the past three weeks. However, today I tried the suggestions with your recent post with the USB mic setup and that's when everything went haywire.
I wanted to do some temp VO tests, as I  upgraded my facility to Premiere Pro CC last week and we are about to get involved in some very heavy promo editing.
Unfortuately, everytime I launch Premiere my entire computer freezes. (Fortunately it's on my laptop and not main edit systems) I can't access any applications. Force quitting does not work. I have to do a hard shutdown and relaunch in safe mode. I can then operate my computer normally. All apps, Adobe or not, no problem...except Premiere. Once it launches, the computer goes into a coma.
I think Premiere is having an issue with the Apple Midi Audio app.
    Any suggestions?
    Regards,
    Erik

  • Premiere Pro CC crashes after 25% rendering, has particular issues with directional blur effect

I've only been using Premiere for a single project as my university specified we should use it, I'm not used to such a complex programme, or even video editing to be honest, so bear with me. (I'm following that guide on what information to add to questions on this forum)
I'm using Premiere Pro CC with the 7.2.1 update, that's the most recent update
    I'm on Windows 7

I'm not actually sure what a codec is but my source material is just one .jpg image, I put effects on it in one project then imported it to another project though

Premier crashes when it gets to the point in my sequence where I used the directional blur effect (I'm pretty sure that's when it crashes anyway), it also can't export I assume because it can't render
this is like 4 seonds of video as well
I reaaaaally need it to work soon because I have university deadlines to meet and I need Premiere Pro to finish my work
Hope someone can give some advice

I tried it without the directional blur effect and it rendered fine, for some reason it just can't deal with directional blur...

Does this happen only when you use the plug-in, or for all comps?
