Premier Elements 12 locks up when downloading disk menu

I Just install PE12. Tried with both 12 and 12.1, same results. When i choose tools, add menu, i get the option to select one. I right click it to download it, see the progress bar complete but get a whote rectangle where the menu used to be displayed and a cursor indicating waitng. Then after trying to do anythign else, PE12 goes into not responding mode, then crashes eventually and closes. Seems like there has to be something obvious I'm missing. Tried new install, update to 12.1, download all, same or similar results.

For now I am assuming that you are on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit computer.
1. Right click the Premiere Elements 12 icon on the computer desktop and then select Run As Administrator, even assuming that you are running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges...are you? Then what happens to the problem? Still there?
2. Slideshow/Pan and Zoom installs with the program and is not part of what is considered Content Download.

So, this appears to be more than a "Content Download" matter.
3. Determine if all the Disc Menus files can be found on the computer hard drive. See blog post link above for paths to. Did you install the program to the default location or create a new location?
4. If problem still there and program install location choice is not the issue, try deleting the Premiere Elements 12 Settings File.

and in the 12.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then you delete the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path.
5. If problem still there.... then we are looking at deactivate, uninstall, ccleaner run through, reinstall with antivirus and firewalls turned Off.
What is your antivirus program. If McAfee, then disable it before any of this troubleshooting to determine if it is the problem or contributing to it.

I had a problem with an ssd drive. I had to reinstall win 8.1. When I did TB locks up when downloading mail from yahoo. It takes a few minutes to get it working. After this time then it works fine. It didn't do this when i originally installed it.

Try to start *Windows* in safe mode with networking enabled.

Premier Elements 11 screen refresh when window not full screen

Hi,
Have following spec pc:
Pentium 4 3.6Ghz 2Gb Ram with NVidia GTS450 latest display drivers and windows XP service pack 3.
When running Premier elements in not full screen mode moving the window leaves window trails behind and screen does not refresh. In full screen things are ok?.
What can be causing this and is there anything that can be done to resolve this apart from upgrading my pc etc.

Welcome to the forum.
I have the same, or very similar GUI display issues with PrE 11 on an older laptop, running XP-Pro SP3 and an nVidia GeForce 8800M GTX w/ 512MB VRAM. Unfortunately, for that chip and on XP-Pro, the latest video driver is from back in 2011 (IIRC), and no new one in sight.
I feel that the only solution will be to update the OS to Win7 (allowing a newer video driver from nVidia), or replacement of the laptop (which I am doing).
PrE 4.0, PrPro CS 2, AE CS 2, and other, older Adobe programs, all work perfectly, but PrE 11 has display issues. To me, this means that the newer version's GUI interfaces more closely with the video driver, than the other programs.
Even for a company, like nVidia, the XP OS route is now a deadend.

Premier Elements 4.0 Crashes when sharing to DVD

I have PE4.0 running on a 32-bit Dell XPS-420 with Vista. It crashes every time I attempt to burn a DVD with "Premier Elements has stopped working...." message. Here's what I know about the issue:
1. I recently installed SP1 for Vista. I was always able to write DVDs before, but since I haven't done it for a while, I can't tell if the SP1 install had an effect on the problem.
2. All my other applications (Windows Media Player, Magix Movie Editor, Roxio Creator 10, etc.) are able to access and write to DVDs just fine
3. All other features of PE4.0 seem to work just fine.
Any suggestions?

Roxio could be the issue. Try uninstalling it. Also see this thread, even some of the files the uninstall leaves behind can cause problems:

Elements 11 locks up when I attempt to Photomerge Group Shot

Whenever I attempt to perform Photomerge, Elements 11 locks up. It's just that simple. I get the MAC beach ball, and the application locks up. I'm able to force Elements 11 to exit by executing Force Quit Application. This problem happens in Quick, Guided, and Expert modes. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks for your help.

What version of Premiere Elements 11 are your using in presumed Mac computer? I suspect none, but, by the content of your question, rather Photoshop Elements 11 Mac.
If that is the case, you have posted in the wrong forum. You want the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum and not the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum (video editing) where your thread is not displaying.

Add On...Did the classical resetting of preferences have any effect of the problem?

Random video is played when clicking Disk Menu on Win

A random video is played when clicking on button “Disk Menu [Ctrl+M]”on WinDVD 7 controller. Why is this? Everithing worked fine on a Apple computer.

Please check DVDSP User Manual topic Remote Control Settings in the Chapter 17 and check you have the right settings for the remote control Menu button.
Did you try in a stand alone player and/or another PC DVD software (i.e. VLC Player)?

Premier elements 10. Quits when opening "get files from..."

How do I fix this issue: APE10 open, sets up a new project, but when I try to "get files" from "files an folders" it quits.

There is a serious known issue with Premiere Elements 10 on a computer that uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card. The answer to date has been to roll back
the driver version to about May 2013. There is an Announcement at the top of this forum about all this, and much more information to be found elsewhere

I am not sure if an automatic update of the driver version may have taken the driver version from the much older date to current version which is triggering your present situation.
I am strictly an Elements Windows user so I am not sure if the following NVIDIA GeForce 9400 M driver version would work in your Mac computer environment.

The other consideration is the use of Premiere Elements 10 OS10.10.2. I have not seen any reports confirming that Premiere Elements 10 is compatible with OS 10.10.2.
But then again, you report "It worked well 3 months ago. First time it has done it." Where you using the same operating system then as now?
You can also factor into all this the usual drill considerations...
a. Are you working with a pen and tablet device instead of mouse?
b. Does the problem exist with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
c. Have you deleted the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file

d. Is the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer?

Adobe Premier Elements 12 , Unknown errors when rendering or saving or making DVD's

We purchased this software in January and have had little success it getting it to work as the errors which appear have no details to work on. the most popular error is unknown error , error converting, error rendering project. But this does not tell us what to do to fix the problem, and the staff are losing confidence in the software.
We have made sure that the users have local Full admin rights to the PC's the software is on.
Also we have second drives installed so they can put all the photos and videos and music locally ready to make the film,
We have made sure that the program also caches locally so there's no network traffic issues.
We have tried using the project archive before and also changing footage speeds as some images are from Ipads, some from cameras etc which have different rates
Some films have been fixed by removing the transitions which the programs supplies for use but have caused it to crash, but also the title pages have caused problems.
When we make the projects we also tell everyone to check that the render line is green and check for gaps etc,
We need the software to be more user friendly as it does not explain what to do when these errors occur so we try everything we have in the past but this is crazy as its very time consuming and defeats the object of buying special software to make the job easier as they were using movie maker before . Please can you help as we are losing total confidence with the product.

iTunes opens correctly but as soon as it attempts to resume pending podcast dowloads I have in the iStore, iTunes locks up. I've re-installed several times.

Adobe premier element disk pile up

It seems like som working files i premier element gets left on the c disk even after deleting projekts. I can´t find those files on my c disk and I dont know what file ending they have.

Have you followed our advice and created a new folder whenever you create a new project? If so, all of these files will be saved in that folder and removing them, once you're finished with your project is as simple as deleting the folder.
Otherwise, you'll need to manually delete these files. They're locating the following folders, in the same directory where you saved your project file:
Adobe Premiere Elements Auto-Save
Adobe Premiere Elements Preview Files
Encoded Files
Stop Motion Capture

I purchased Adobe photoshop elements 12 & Adobe premier elements 12 as a bundle for 99.99 on-line. I was able to download photoshop elements, but have been unable to download premier elements.
Although they both show different serial #'s on the invoice the names are linked together for the download. I have a brand new Apple desktop. Can you instruct me how to download premier elements 12?

Installing Premier Elements 10 trial.

I am having trouble installing the trial of Premier Elements 10. I have downloaded the software twice with no apparent problems. Have tried to install 3 times. All 3 times it appears to be installing properly until it gets to the step of installing shared technologies. At the point of installing "Data 7", it locks up, eventually gives an error message that it didn't install properly, then goes through a lengthy step of rolling back all the installed software. After that is done, requests a restart of the computer. I had no other programs open at the time and set my screen saver for several hours, so I don't think that caused the problem.
Computer stats: PC with Windows Vista, 64 bit. 8 Gb ram. I have PS CS4, Adobe Reader 10 and Adobe Flashpayer installed and working fine. No previous versions of Premier.
Any help in solving this would be appreciated.

Once you have downloaded the files, please navigate to the folder to which the files have been extracted.
1. Click on the Adobe Premiere Elements 10 folder.
2. Then look for a folder named PRE10. Click on it.
3. Here double click on the folder named ElementsST1Installer (ST1 means Shared technologies 1)
4. Click on the Set-up icon you will see here.
5. Once set up completes, try installing the software.
