Premier Elements 13 Organizer Works. Editor doesn't. Log in doesn't work
I downloaded and installed Premier Elements 13 last night. In using it today, Organizer works, but when I select Editor, I am required to log in to my account to activate it. When I do so, then I eventually reach the agreement to terms page, accept it but Editor still doesn't work. Contacted Chat and had an extremely humourous but extremely frustrating chat before the chat stopped working (??????) Here is a copy and paste of the chat up until Chat stopped working:

At the forum level, there is no instantaneous reply. And, there is no "how long before I get someone to post in my thread" expectation.
This is not Adobe. Rather user to user. Although I personally try to see that every thread has a viable reply before the end of the day, there are no guarantee how long it will take for a thread to be answered with some information that may actually help you resolve your particular issue. I am not affiliated with Adobe in anyway. Just a user with an overactive troubleshooting gene.
From what you wrote, you no longer have a purchased product. You demanded your money back from Adobe via its Adobe Chat, and you got what you demanded, that is, your money back request put into action. So, I am not sure what you are left to work with.
If you purchased from an online download from Adobe and the install apparently did not take, then it is not unreasonable to be asked to uninstall/reinstall the program with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled. That may or may not help. There are certain troubleshooting drills that need to be followed as one systematically goes through the progress of ruling factors in or out of the problem equation.
Part of the drill might have included:
a. What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running on?
b. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus installed?
c. Are you running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges and with Run As Administrator applied to the desktop icon?
d. Is your video card/graphics card up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card? How many video cards/graphics cards does your computer use, 1 or 2?
e. Is your computer connected to the Internet?
f. Is the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer along with Premiere Elements 13?
g. Other
But, none of the above is going to be of use if you do not have a purchased copy of Premiere Elements 13 to work with. You need to sort out your Adobe situation with Adobe.

Unable to add a new Place in Version 13 of Premier Elements Organizer
Hi,
I am using the trial version of Premier Elements Organizer, which I am planning on purchasing if I can get this issue resolved. When I click on the "Add Places" button at the bottom of the screen AND when I click on the green plus button and "Add New Place" on the Places panel the program locks up and I receive the "Program Not Responding" message from Windows 8.1. I've clicked the "Wait for the program to respond" and have waited over 5 minutes and nothing happens.
This doesn't happen in the Photoshop Elements Organizer; however, all I need is the Organizer and Video Editing so I have switched to Premier Elements.

Glad all seems to have worked out for you.
I was about to go into...
Photoshop Elements 13 and Premiere Elements 13 are standalone products that come with the Elements Organizer 13.
When they are on the same computer, they share the same Elements Organizer 13 catalog.
So your suggestion that you got different Elements Organizer 13 results depending on whether you started on the Photoshop
Elements 13 versus Premiere Elements 13 side of things was challenging.

I noticed that in using Photoshop Premier Elements Organizer V10, I was able to select more than a single person when filtering media. For example, I may want to find all of my photos that have me with my cousin, John as well as my friend Norm in them. With Photoshop Priemier Elements Organizer 11, I can only filter on a single person or filter on a group of individuals. Using a group does not always match the specific filter that I am looking for. Was this an oversight in the new version?
(By the way, this feature is also missing with "Places" as well... For example, I would like to be able to select Austria, Switzerland, and Germany media when adding an Event for my "Trip to the Alps". I can only select one country at a time.)
Any suggestions? Can we get this feature back?Have you opened up the Filter menu, which opens along the top of the Organizer's Media Browser?
With it, you simply check the filters you want to apply, and the Media Browser will show you all media clips to which those filters applies. -
I have a windows PC with windows 8.1 and have had it for 13 months. I have PE 9 installed and have been using it without a single problem when out of the blue I can't open the Organizer. I can open the editor but not the organizer. When I attempt to open it I get this...Direct x is installed but can't be initiated. Please reboot your system and then relaunch Elements organizer. Obviously, I have done this many, many times. I have had two computer experts look through my computer for a total of 13 hours and neither one of them knows what the problem is. One of them thought the issue might be bad graphics driver but the other computer guy thought that was definitely not it.
The second technician thought it was a corrupt file somewhere in the catalog. We downloaded a trial version of PE 12 and tried to open that and it won't open either. Seriously at my wits end here. I'm willing to pay to have this fixed. I've already spent hundreds of dollars to no avail. Rest of the computer works flawlessly.
We have done everything that has been posted here on this topic without success. Rebuild the thumbnail cache, repair the catalog via the catalog manager, gone in and made sure that Direct x was actually turned on...it is! I'm truly expecting a miracle as this is basically my last resort. I have over 30,000 images and just don't know what to do. Clearly installiung a new program is not the answer as PE 12 trial version came up with the same issue. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....PLEASE!!!!!!!!!Hi,

Where is the Editor in Premier Elements + Organizer?
Is there Elements without the Editor? If so, how do I get the editor? I bought and downloaded yesterday.

No, Premiere Elements IS an editor. It is a Non Linear Editor (NLE) for Video.
What exactly installed for you?
Did you purchase the bundle with PrElements and Photoshop Elements?
Did you also download the file for the Additional Functional Content?
Did you buy directly from Adobe?

Premier Elements 10 - I cannot get the Share/Online Feature to work
Brand new install of premier elements 10 on a new PC running Windows 7.
Everything was working great until it was time to do something with the movie project. I want to get the movie to YouTube but when I went to Share and then Selected Online - nothing happened. I can save to computer, DVD, all of the other Share options but nothing happens when I click online. All of the other choices bring up a new screen with saving details but when I select Online - I don't even get a reaction from the computer.
I did it once without signing into my Adobe ID but then I signed in and no difference.
I created my Adobe ID on a different computer using Photoshop but not sure if that is relevant at all or if even the Adobe ID is relevant.
Any suggestions?
I know I can save to PC first and then upload (which is what is happening now as I type this) but I would like to remove one step if I can and have it work the way it was designed.This is probably due to the setting in PrE for Online Sharing, and your YouTube account. I would check the info for each very closely, to make sure that everything is set up properly. Also, from time to time, YouTube has made major changes in their accounts (not that long ago, they decided to go through a department of Google - not sure if they still do), and if you're on, say an extended YouTube account, then it might be that PrE has not yet caught up to those. Do not know if PrE 10 still has the old 10 min. limit, but that was the case, until YouTube started offering extended accounts.

Elements Organizer and Editor Image Differences?
I've noticed that the images displayed by Photoshop Elements Organizer are noticeable different from the display of the same image file by the Elements Editor. Why does this happen and is there a way to correct one or the other displays. Generally, the Organizer image appears to have more color saturation than when the image is viewed in the Editor. As a side note, the same image displayed in the Photoshop CS5 Editor appears to look about the same as it does in the Elements Editor.
Other information: I have a Windows 7 64-bit system with dual calibrated monitors. It does not matter which image appears on which monitor -- the PSE Organizer image always has greater color saturation.That seems to be a reasonable explanation. Since a thumbnail does not have as much information as the actual file, it shouldn't be surprising that visual difference exist. I just wasn't expecting them to be quite so noticeable.

Premier Elements Organizer 10.0
I am new to Premier Elements, ver. 10.0. When I first opened it, 900+ photos appeared in Organizer. I don't know where they came from - perhaps from my Photoshop elements 7.0. I don't want them there and tried to delete but got a warning that they will be deleted from my hard drive. As I don't want many of these deleted from my photo albums, I backed off.
I have been unable to find an explanation in any tutorial for either how they got there or how to delete? Help please.
Thanks.If you want to delete the images from the catalogs and NOT from the harddisk, Select all the images on the catalog and then right and select 'Delete selected items from catalog'
Once you will do that it will give you a confirmation dialog, UNCHECK the option 'Also delete selected item from hard disk '
and click ok, by doing this it will delete the images from the catalog but NOT from the hard disk .

2. What did you do - DV or HDV capture firewire? For DV AVI, what did you produce DV AVI type 1 or DV AVI type 2?
If HDV, what do you have MPEG2.mpg or something else, like MPEG2.m2t?
3. Please download and install the free codec utility named GSpot

Elements Organizer and Editor Fonts Too Small
Is Adobe ever going to fix this problem of the fonts not adjusting their size in both the organizer and the editor? The only option to alter the font seems to be to switch to a "System Font", but that option doesn't work. It doesn't change the font size at all, even if you turn off Aero and set the system font to 125%, the menu fonts don't change. In short, the software is not Windows compliant, afte how many years that Adobe has been making a windows version of this ptogram?
The default font size can't be read more than a foot or so away from the screen on today's pretty much standard 22" 1680x1050 LCD display. On top of that, who in their right mind thinks black text on a gray backgound effects 'contrast' rather than 'blend'?
I've searched the internet regarding this problem, and it seems to have persisted through multiple versions of this software, but has gotten worse through versions 7, 8 and 9 based on user numerous posts. Actually, it looks like Adobe just doesn't plan on addressing the problem at all.
Does anyone even get a response from Adobe when they post about this font issue? It doesn't look like it, as far as I can see.That seems to be a reasonable explanation. I don't understand how there were over 900+ photos when I first started using it. I had not added any and I don't want them there. I was going to delte them but I got a warning that they would be deleted from my hard drive. Help please.

Let us go through the typical drill on your Premiere Elements 13 Window 8.1 64 bit issue, and then we can focus in more based on your replies.
1. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
2. Are you using a pen and tablet device or mouse?
3.According to the Device Manager/Display Adapters, what video card/graphics card does your computer use? How many cards, and is driver version
up to date?
5. Are you running the program as Administrator? Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer?
Please look at the following solutions for 12 to determine if they will work for you in 13.

can see the complete path cited.

Question on Trial version of Premier Elements 12
This is my first effort at creating a video with this new program. I have several questions but, we'll do one at a time. First ... When I create a transition a "banner" shows up on the screen saying "created by premier 12 trial version. Is that going to be there on the "finished product ? It's very annoying and, blocks everything. Second .... When I looked thru the photos I ADDED some captions to the bottom of the photos. However, the TEXT doesn't show up when creating a movie. What am I doing wrong ?

I believe I have to be in "expert mode to do all of the things you asked me to try...
I went into expert and, was then able to access these items. I'm working on trying
all the things you suggested.
However, what about doing all this text stuff in a a naration instead. Would that be easier ?
Bill Hunt had given me a way to do that earlier but, I was a bit overwhelmed and lost that text.
Maybe, that might be a more "personable" way to do this ????

1. Open Premiere Elements 12 to the Expert workspace.
2. Import a photo from the hard drive into the program via the program's Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets. And, from Project Assets, drag your photo to the beginning of Video Track 1.
3.With your Timeline Indicator (Blue head on Red Stem) at the beginning of the Timeline, go to Text/New Text/Default Text and click on Default Text to open the Titler which will have four sections (Text, Styles, Animation, and Shapes). Click on the Text section tab. Notice that, when the Titler opened, the program automatically placed the title on the Timeline at the position of the Timeline Indicator.
a. There are a variety of ways to start typing, replacing the default "Add Text" with what you want. What I usually do is to go to the right edge of the Add Text default with the mouse cursor and left click/drag from right to left across Add Text to put a gray cast over it and then type with the horizontal type tool. When I am ready to move the text around, then I select the Selection Tool in the trio of tools (horizontal text tool, vertical text tool, selection tool) in the Text Section and use it to select the text. When you make the text selection, you should see a bounding box around the text for you to use for resizing and such.
b. Important add ons...after the Titler closes, to open the title again for more editing, double click the title on the Timeline...when you want to close the Titler, look to the top right of that Adjustments Panel. You should see two tiny gray arrows point right. Click those arrows to close the Titler.

The last three may be more than you want now since your focus is on captions, but maybe hold on to them for another time when you want to get deeper into the Premiere Elements Titler opportunities.

Out of the clear blue - the Premier Elements Organize "Licensing Agreement" shows up on my screen. I click "Accept" - it goes away - and within 5 seconds pops up again. I can't get past it. I've used the program successfully for over 2 years. Anybody else having this problem? I use Win 7 x64, I have TONS of disk space (read over 570 GB free on "C Drive"). I have 12GB of DDR3 Memory. I'm using an AMD 6 Core processor with an ASUS mobo. All other programs work fine including several other Adobe programs.

In your uninstall/reinstall troubleshooting, have you
a. uninstalled using the usual Control Panel route
b. did a ccleaner run through with its regular and registry cleaning parts

c. reinstall with antivirus and firewalls Off.
I have been doing some searches....any chance you have a RAID configuration change in your computer environment?
Can you right clicked the program desktop icon and select Run As Administrator? If so, please do so. Are you still running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges?
You might want to take a look at some of my encounters with activating Premiere Elements and see if there is anything in that which applies to your situation.

Adobe Inspirational Brower Premier Elements 9
I haven't used Premier Elements 9 in a couple of years but want to work on a project. I was instructed to to uninstall Adobe Photoshop.com Inspirational Browser and install the windows update. I completed the uninstall but now can't download the update.
Windows explorer opens and then closes down. I tried to use the url address http://eib.assyst.net/PIB/AdobePhotoshopDotcomInspirationBrowser.html in Google Chrome but that doesn't work either.

Stop markers in Premier Elements 11
I am using Premier Elements 11 and tried to write a Blu-Ray disc with a menu and stop markers. The disc works, but the stop markers do not, and the flow does not return to the menu. In the known problems with Premier Elements 10, it says the stop markers do not work on a Blu-Ray disc!! What about Premier Elements 11? Is there a way to make them work?
What about Premier Elements 12, is this conspicuous problem resolved or not?crankyuser1
Again, no fix to the Blu-ray Stop Marker business as nealeh has opted to confirm in this thread and in the thread of another in which you posted the same question today.
The only menu marker perk that you are going to get moving to Premiere Elements 12 in the allowable number of menu markers which is now 99. If you care to read more about the Timeline menu marker count, please see details in my blog post on the subject
