Premier elements 4 adding text to disk menu

Hello,
I am trying to follow another post in this forum describing how to add additional text to the main menue like a subtitle and I can't seem to make it work. It was mentioned to creat a new folder and copy the original stuff to it that you plan on modifing, and I have done that and it shows up in premier elements in the template selection arrea, so that part is good so far.
My trouble is when I go to modify the PSD file and save it, then open premier the change is not there. So I know I'm missing something. Every time I open the modified file in Photoshop its there with the modification so I dont know if im not saving it correctly or if I'm mdifing the wrong file just not sure and would appreciate any assistance I can get thank you.

Thank you so much for the fast reply,
I tried the naming of the file to "_mod" and that still did not seem to fix it either.
Here is what I have done so far.
1 I found the dvd template folder and created a new folder in it called "Modified"
2 I then went to my new folder and created another folder in it called "Holliday"
3 I then went to the origingal template folder that i wanted to modify "hollyberries" and selected all and copied all the content in that folder.
4 I then went backinto the folder that i made called "DVD Templates\Modified\Holliday" and pasted it all in there so it was now in both folders.
5 I then had to change the atribue from archive so i could modify it.
6 I then opened the "hollyberies_hd_mm.psd" file in my new folder with PhotoShop Elements 6 and added a text box to it and saved it as
    "hollyberries_mod_hd_mm.psd"  per your instruction.
7 I then renamed the "hollyberries_hd_sm.psd" file to "hollyberries_mod_hd_sm.psd. (I did this part in windows in the folder not PhotoShop)
8 I then opened up Premier Elements andmy project I was working on and went to the "menu" tab and in the drop down list selected my "Modified" goup and the template the it was showing in the preview did not have the change on it. So I tried to apply it to my project anyway, hopping it would be there but it was not.
Also I have the text layer just above the "foreground" layer in the list, the other thing is when I originally tried to save the new file I left all the save options like they were with the "include in the organizer" checked and "Save in version set with the original" checked but that changed the name to add "edited-1" to the end of the name so I unchecked that and saved again. And the save "Layers" is checked and "as a copy" is not bit that ws default.
Do you have any more ideas or can you tell me what I'm still doing wrong?
I am also not able to see the atachment on your post so I am not sure if my layer is in the correct place or not.
Again thank you for the reply and help.

  • Adding text to a menu

I added some text to a moving menu and the text is always there, it doesn't fade in like the buttons and title do, is there any way to make this do that as well?

I am trying to do the same thing... from the lack of response I am assuming it is not possible.
Did you find any work around?

What file do I play on my computer in a AVCHD disk folder created with premier elements 12?

Just in case note...the DVD-VIDEO folders/files structure is different from that of the AVCHD format.
    For DVD-VIDEO (burn to folder)
    VIDEO_TS Folder
and your menus are typically found in VTS_01_0.VOB file in the VIDEO_TS Folder
and your video is typically found in VTS_01_0.VOB file in the VIDEO_TS Folder
For AVCHD format (burn to folder)
    BDMV Folder
and your video is typically 00000.m2ts file in the STREAM Folder
and your menus are typically 00001.m2ts and 00002.m2ts files  in the StREAM Folder.
If you want a single file (not yet on a disc) that will play back your Premiere Elements export, then I think you need a consider disc image file (.iso or .vdd).
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/11/pe12-disc-imagephantom-burner-pe.html
If you take the BDMV Folder from the Premiere Elements AVCHD (with menus) burn to folder into a 3rd party software like ImgBurn, you can put the BDMV Folder on a DVD or Blu-ray disc (to get BDMV Folder and an added CERTIFICATE Folder) and play that back with menus on a Blu-ray player that supports those formats on a supported disc type.
    You wrote
but I was looking for the file like the VIDEO_TS file that plays from the menu in a DVD folder.
I have never gotten the VIDEO_TS.VOB file (standalone file) in the VIDEO_TS Folder to playback with a computer player or any other. So, please explain how you have accomplished this, including the player name and whether standalone or computer.
Please review. If you need clarification on anything written, please do not hesitate to ask. The situation above is my take on the matter.
    Thanks.

  • Using Text in Premier Elements

I am using a trial version of Premier Elements to see if I want to buy it.  I really want to create slide show with captions and sounds.  Premier seemed like something I should look into, and there are sound affects, etc.  However, I don't see a way to type text as in a caption on a picture.
I may be better served with a slide show presentation but each one is missing something important, which is what led me to Premier Elements.  I don't want to make movies.  I just want to string photos together in a cohesive presentation with text and music or sound affects.
    Thank you,
    Pam Barkas

First, remember that Premiere Elements is a video editor. So it will create slideshows for DVD or BluRay -- but at video resolution (720x480 and 1920x1080 pixels, respectively). So if you're looking for high-quality, high-resolution software for creating slideshows, you might be better off looking into a program like Pro Show Gold.
But if you are trying to create videos with still photos in them, Premiere Elements can certainly do it. And you can certainly add titles or captions to each photo simply by selecting a title template from the Titles & Text panel.
A companion program called the Organizer is also included with Premiere Elements, and it includes a dedicated Slideshow Creator (under its Create menu) which lets you add captions to your slides one photo at a time, arrange your slide order, add transitions and pan & zooms between slides and add narration and music.

  • In premier elements ...how do you render the menu screen?

I have Premier Elements . Do you render the menu screens for more clarity?

    Welcome to the forum.
When you say render Menus, exactly what do you mean?
The reason that I ask is that for smoothest playback, one can Render the Timeline, but as the Menus are added in the authoring phase, after one has edited the Timeline, they do not get Rendered per se, though that does happen to a degree, when one Previews the DVD/BD.
I sense that there might be an issue with the Menus, that you are using. If that is correct, then it might be best to give us the details of first, your Project Settings, and then which Menus you are using. I suspect that there might be a mis-match there.
Next, please let us know where you are seeing a problem with the Menus, such as in Preview, or when you burn a disc, and play it on a set top player, attached to a TV.
The more detail that you can provide, the better, as it will be easier to diagnose any problem, and offer solutions.
    Good luck,

  • Premier Elements 9 - DVD Main Menu not showing navigation highlights

    Hi All,
Apologies if this discussion / question appears twice. I seemd to lose the original and did not think it had been posted.
New to Adobe and just started using Premier Elements 9 for a basic DVD project.
I managed to work out importing, editing, transitions, adding soundtrack etc and got to the DVD Menu stage where everything seemed to come together.
Once i had burned to DVD i checked it worked on the PC which it did but when i tried in a number of DVD players, there was an issue with Main Menu marker navigation.
This project has a main and four scene menus plus an 'Extras' marker i added to the Main Menu pointing toward Stills..
On all the Scene menus, i can see a clear highlight dot move from scene to scene as i navigate with the remote, showing where I am as you would expect.
On the Main Menu however, where i have Play Movie, Scenes and Extras markers, there is no sign of any dot or highlight to tell you which of these you are currently on so its a lottery as to which you get when navigating with a remote from the Main Menu.
I am pretty sure this is user error and if anyone has thoughts of what i have done or not done when i set up the DVD Menu section maybe, i would very much appreciate it.
A little additional info is apart from adding the 'Extras' button to the main menu i imported a still image/Logo to show up in the middle of the menu screen and added a sound clip to the main and all the 'Scene menus.
Whether that has anything to do with it i don't know.
thank you in advance for any clues as to what i have done wrong.
    Regards
    psutt.

    Hi ATR,
My sincere apologies for not getting back to you sooner. This project has been above and beyond my day to day work as an integrator to the Post Production area and everything went a little nuts over the last few weeks.
I wanted to let you know that I was successful in the end, thanks to your input.
I ended up substituting the ‘Fun in the Sun’ with’ Memory Box’ HD under ‘Memories’ and this was the magic solution.
I got bogged down trying to lengthen rolling end credits and  lengthening a title plate that headed the Extras but I left as is in the end.
The main thing was the menus worked just fine after the change so I won’t go near Fun in the Sun again if I do another sometime.
I kept it to NTSC widescreen and it looked fine.
Many thanks again for your input.
    Kindest Regards

  • Adobe Premier Elements 7- crash-when burning says" Please insert a blank disk" and already a disk in

I have a Adobe Premier Elements 7. I have had a lot of problems with it of crashing and not burning.. I just had my computer wiped out and installed everything back on like windows xp service pack 3..etc. First I have Windows XP service pack 3 with an Intel Core 2CPU ,6400 @213GHz, 2.13 GHz, 1.98 GB of RAM.  When I went into disk menus premier elements 7 crashes... why is that??? also I tried to burn a DVD and does the progress of burniing and almost done burning WHILE there is a dvd in the drive and says"Please insert a blank disk and click ok to burning" why doe sit do that also? I just had adobe reinstalled and my computer wiped out? Please respond and help.. I am using this program as a business of video editing and nee this solved.

Along with Steve's questions, let's talk about the process of Burning a DVD-Video.
From PrE, which is doing the authoring of the DVD-Video, the first thing that happens is a quick check of the Project and the Menu Set chosen. This happens in an instant. Next, the program must Transcode the Timeline to MPEG-2 that is fully DVD-compliant. This takes some time and is a very intensive process, stressing the computer, and also heating things up greatly. This process will often cause a poorly ventilated, or poorly cooled computer to crash with either a reboot, or a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). Every component, save for the video card, will be stressed like few other programs can do. PrE uses a 2-pass Transcode, where it goes through the entire Timeline, and maps out sections with high motion, or great detail. It builds a "script" on how to proceed, and then goes back at the Timeline with that script, but also still looking for ways to improve things. This is about 90% of the entire Burn Disc process. Nothing has yet to be burned. Instead, files are created in the Scratch Disk folders. Now, the program takes those newly created MPEG-2 files, the Menus, and all navigation such as Markers, and assembles them into another working folder, in the full DVD structure of VIDEO_TS folder with the IFO, BUP and VOB's. When this is done, the actual physical Burn starts. This is quite a ways into the total process. It is at this point, that the program looks at the burner and the blank media, and not before.
When the program cannot get the necessary info from the burner, or the blank media, it will throw an error message, similar to yours. Also, "SenseCode Errors" usually indicate a problem with the burner, or the media.
Now, let's address this last bit. Is the firmware for your burner up to date? If not, update/flash the firmware. This will be available from your burner mfgr's. Web site. Next, what brand of blank media are you using? Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden are the most recommended brands. Memorex, TDK, newer Ritek and all store brands should be avoided at all costs. Last, is your burner a fully-certified multi-drive? If so, it should be able to handle +R, or -R media. What type are you using, and are you sure that this is blank media, and not a disc that you have already burned, or even attempted to burn?
Hope that we can stop the crashes, and get you to burning.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Styles in Premier Elements 12 (Mac) isn't working at all (Text).  Any ideas please?  Thanks.

I'm using Premier Elements 12 on a Mac (version 10.9.4) and Styles isn't responding at all.  There are no problems with any of the other text options.  Can anyone help me with this please?

    rosalie gibb
    This is an old story.
There is a Text Style issue only in the Expert workspace of Premiere Elements 12.
Adobe remedied that situation by going from 12 to the 12.1 Update via an opened project's Help Menu/Update. Have you been there and done that?
Before the Adobe 12.1 Update, the workaround was to do the Text Style in the Quick workspace and work between the two workspaces.
Please let us know if that 12.1 works for you.
    Thanks.

  • Premiere Elements 12 Disk Menu

I placed a JPG photo in the background of the disk menu using the pan and zoom menu template. I adjusted the photo resolution to 1920 by 1080. The video is 1080p 29.97. It leaves a big black border around the photo and there is no way to make the photo bigger. I also tried the photo with a higher resolution with the same problem. The PC is Windows 8.1 -  64 bit. I also seem to get the same problem if I use 1080p video for the background. Any fixes besides getting a better program?

    re991
Premiere Elements 12/12.1 on Windows 8.1 64 bit.
Video or Still Background Replacement does not necessarily mean replacement of the whole background. It all depends on how the theme .psd background layer was created. Most of the time the background replacement is a partial one because of the design.
If you want to customize the disc menu in this regard, then you go into the background layer in the Layers Palette of the theme's psd file and edit it. The major psd editor for this purpose would be Photoshop CS or higher. However, if only a background replacement at the.psd level is required, the task might be completed successfully using Photoshop Elements Editor.
Please take a look at one of my blog posts for the how to details for such a task.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE11: Full Background Replacement Faux Widescreen Disc Menu
Also you may have to do some resizing of the scene selection page thumbnails to get rid of any black borders around them.
Please review and consider and then we can discuss this further if interested and need clarification.
    Thank you.

  • I am trying to locate the 'Audio Tools Menu' in Premier elements 9.

I want to add a narration using Premier Elements 9.  I am told to choose "Add Narration" from the "Audio Tools Menu", but have been unable to locate anything like that.  Just how is that done?

Premiere Elements 9 workspace and the speaker icon below the monitor and above the Timeline.
After you click on Add Narration
What microphone do you have? Typically, problems with the USB type.

  • Premier Elements 13 crashing whenever I try and use the top menu? Why?

Recently purchased Premier Elements 13. I am in the middle of a project and although I can edit the timeline if I try to do anything from the top menu it simply crashes and closes the programme down. Any ideas?
I am using a PC Windows 7. Have all the updates and installed Quick Time. What else can I do?

    Vince
Sort of a check list to make sure that nothing got overlooked by me along the way...
    1. Did you double check the video card/graphics card's and its driver's control panel offered you in the computer to determine if there are some settings there that you could fine tune?
    2. Have you created a new User Account with Administrative Privileges and installed and tried to run the program from there? I think that we mentioned that but
I am not sure of the outcome on that - whether it was put off temporarily or done and found not to matter.
    3. Did you ever work with new source of installation files?

  • Premier Elements 10, Audio Tools menu

Whilst currently making a dvd project, the use of any of the Audio Tools drop down sub-menu's, ceased working or displayed.
The sub-menu's were displayed, but unable to activate any of them, eg smart mix, audio mix.

    Premier Elements 10

    Hi Bill.
Unfortunately I haven't a clue as to what this reply is all about, as no
idea what Pre and PS is, and so I'm in total darkness.
As I've just mentioned in previous email, this problem only started during
this latest project. Also found that audio tool, as Steve said, but again
nothing happens when trying Audio tools, and then Audio mix. Either way to
select audio tools, and then to try to activate Audio mix, ends in nothing
    what so ever.
    Thanks for your assistance.

  • Adobe premier element disk pile up

It seems like som working files i premier element gets left on the c disk even after deleting projekts. I can´t find those files on my c disk and I dont know what file ending they have.
    Need help.
    Laursen77

Have you followed our advice and created a new folder whenever you create a new project? If so, all of these files will be saved in that folder and removing them, once you're finished with your project is as simple as deleting the folder.
Otherwise, you'll need to manually delete these files. They're locating the following folders, in the same directory where you saved your project file:
    Adobe Premiere Elements Auto-Save
    Adobe Premiere Elements Preview Files
    Encoded Files
    Stop Motion Capture
