Premier elements 4 Trial product AUDIO PROBLEMS

I am using the PE4 30 day trial product as a basis to decide on whether to by PE 7 and am running into a signficant problem. The DVDs I recorded with my Canon camcorder play fine (both visually and sound wise) with MS Windows Media Player and Real Player but when I play the scenes using PE4 (I used the get media function to load tme into PE4) but the audion portion while consistent in volume chops off whole words/segments.
I just exported the Audio portion (using PE4) of the clips in question to a file and they exported with no problems. I can hear it perfectly (no missing words/sounds) with MS Windows Player.
Would appreciate input on what is causing the problem?

Hi Steve, just getting back to this project..... A response from Canon indicated that the camcaorder files created by their product are .VOB files for video and .AC3 for audio and .IFO to integrate the video and audio files. Will the MPEGStreamclip a squared5 also handle these and be useable with the Power Director products? Also has PD 7 been released and does it address my problem without my going through a file conversion?

  • Premier Elements 11 trial.  Playback problems; instability problems

I downloaded the trial version and installed yesterday.  My experience so far is as follows:
Video tracks I import (h.264) will play fine (although see below.)  Then if I try later they won't: timeline doesn't move, no sound no nothing.  No rhyme or reason to it.  I've tried deleting the project and all media files from Premier and Elements Organiser and trying again.  No luck.  Repeat, and this time they work; I presume at some point they will stop.  I've had even more trouble getting them to play in the organiser.  They have played but now no matter what I do they don't seem to want to: I'd ask if the organiser can play videos or not but I've seen it do it so I know the answer.
Launching Premier Elements may cause iTunes and/or Safari to crash.  Or maybe not.  Depends upon the mood it's in I guess....
Yesterday, something completely took over the sound output.  Couldn't adjust volume, turn off my external speakers or otherwise get sound out.  When I pressed the volume up button on my keyboard nothing happened, repeat again, nothing happened.  10 mins later the volume adjustment overlay displayed upping volume by 1 notch!  Another 5 mins later the same again!  Bizarre.  Couldn't find a way to get around it: I could launch programs ok but I couldn't logout.  Or Shutdown.  Having seen the delay in the volume dialog I decided that maybe it would shut down when it got the chance so I went for dinner.  Sure enough, on return it had shutdown.
I have (or at least did have) a stable system before installing this program.  It's an iMac on 10.8.3, 32GB RAM and 3.2Ghz 4-core processor.
Another interesting thing it does is with the playback of my clips.  These are a slideshow of photos: each photo transitions in over 1.5 secs, stays for 2 secs, then transitions out whilst the next one transitions in.  In other words, each photo overlays the previous one and then is displayed for 2 secs.  This is how they play in iTunes, on a DVD etc.  In Premier, the clips register as the same length but each photo transitions in and immediately transitions out with no 2 second pause.  It's as if the transitions have been extended in time so the whole clip remains the same length but consists solely of transitioning images.  Why would it interpret the video differently to other applications?
I was hoping to switch to this program because the output from iMovie 11 is really bad for dark areas: extremely pixellated and blocky.  The output from Premier doesn't have this but of course the output doesn't play properly so it's a bit moot really.
I could probably live with this, for this one set of clips, if it wasn't for the other instability problems - do others find similar problems?
    Regards
    Andrew

Thanks ATR - not sure I explained my self properly, but here's some background...
I have a DVD that consists of a slideshow of photos from a window.  As above, these seem to transition in over 1 or 1.5 seconds stay for 2 and then the next one transitions in.  I've ripped the DVD using handbrake to a H.264 format so I can play on AppleTV  (no copyright issues by the way!)  The DVD is actually split into 5 titles: 4 of 6 minutes 7 seconds duration and 1 of around 20 seconds duration.  In the DVD of course they play continually appearing as a 24 minute 48 seconds.
The intention was to load all 5 clips into Premier on the timeline and create 1 output.  That actually works (when it works!) so in some respect I can achieve what I want, except.....
Let's take clip 1.  It's 6 mins 7 secs long in iTunes.  In iTunes it plays as expected: each photo transitions in for 1.5 secs, sticks for 2 seconds then the next photo transitions in.  In Premier, the clip is 6 mins 7 secs long.  However, it plays as follows: each photo transitions in then the next photo transitions in without pause.  It seems that the transitions have extended in duration to what appears to be 3.5 secs thus there's no clear point where I can see the photo (a split moment when I could press pause is the only possibility.)
So that question was really: why would Premier take a clip that has been copied from DVD, and which iTunes plays the same as the DVD, and play it back differently?  I read the thread which was useful in explaining how different programs dealt with transitions whilst building up a video/slideshow - perhaps I misunderstood it.
This isn't the main reason for testing Premier actually.  I have a video camera capable of 1080/50p which iMovies can't handle without significant jiggery-pokery.  And the exports are just plain rubbish.  I've just loaded some clips into the Elements organiser - here's another problem which I'll mention here but for which I'll give more feedback on a separate thread later:
when playing back a clip, the sound will just stop.  Video will continue, but no sound.  If I pause it, reset the play marker backwards then play sound comes back.  It may or may not disappear later in the playback.  Either way, in the organiser playing clips either works, doesn't work sometimes (often??), plays with sound, plays some sound then stops.
Sorry...but this seems like a buggy program to me.
    Thanks
    Andrew

  • AVI files loaded in Premier Elements 7 only show audio and not video.

I am a new user of Premier Elements 7 and am having problems getting the video into a new project I set up. I have 6 AVI v1.0 clips that play both audio and video in Windows 7, but when I set up a project and import them, I only get the audio side and not the video side. I can drag the audio to the timeline and can play the audio just fine. But it is missing the video. I must be doing something wrong, but am new enough that I don't know where to turn.
I have been reading the forums and taking tutorials, so I think I know the steps to import a video into PRE7. I've tried many things, but still no video. I downloaded GSpot and found that my files have video H264 (H.264/MPEG-4 AVC) and audio oxooo2 (ADPCM). The codecs seem to be installed on my Windows 7 computer.
Can someone point me in the right direction on what to do next. I'm a computer professional with 50 years of experience, so am no dummy, but am new to PRE7. Thanks in advance.

I found a mini-CD that came with the product. When I loaded it on my computer, one of the options was to install a device driver. I did this and now I can see the video in PRE7. So, I think this solves my problem.
I applaud the mfgr. of the Insignia. This is the way that it should be with ALL cameras, that do not use a miniDV tape, or precise CODEC, that is mainstream. All too often, the mfgrs. tweak an existing CODEC, and just leave the customer hanging, trying to find a way to edit the footage. A couple of major mfgrs. come immediately to my mind.
Others, who use CODEC's, like Xvid, that is so heavily compressed, that even converting it to an editable format/CODEC results in such horrible footage, that no one would ever be satisfied with the finished product.
    <Soapbox Mode Off>
Glad that you are now up and editing. For my education, what does G-Spot say about the CODEC in the Insignia footage? At least next time that I encounter it, I can say - "look in the box, and install the driver to get the CODEC."
    Thanks for reporting,

  • Installing Premier Elements 10 trial.

I am having trouble installing the trial of Premier Elements 10. I have downloaded the software twice with no apparent problems. Have tried to install 3 times. All 3 times it appears to be installing properly until it gets to the step of installing shared technologies. At the point of installing "Data 7", it locks up, eventually gives an error message that it didn't install properly, then goes through a lengthy step of rolling back all the installed software. After that is done, requests a restart of the computer. I had no other programs open at the time and set my screen saver for several hours, so I don't think that caused the problem.
Computer stats: PC with Windows Vista, 64 bit. 8 Gb ram. I have PS CS4, Adobe Reader 10 and Adobe Flashpayer installed and working fine. No previous versions of Premier.
Any help in solving this would be appreciated.

Once you have downloaded the files, please navigate to the folder to which the files have been extracted.
    1. Click on the Adobe Premiere Elements 10 folder.
    2. Then look for a folder named PRE10. Click on it.
    3. Here double click on the folder named ElementsST1Installer (ST1 means Shared technologies 1)
    4. Click on the Set-up icon you will see here.
    5. Once set up completes, try installing the software.
If you still have the same issue, please follow the steps in the below mentioned document:

  • Why won't my Premier Elements 13 video production run when I push the play arrow?  It worked yesterday.

    Premier Elements 13
I am in the process of making a movie with Premier Elements 13; it has been functioning fine--until today. For some reason, it no longer plays when I press the play arrow button to preview recent additions to the script.  I have rendered the files.  I have exited the program and reopened it.  I have turned the computer off and on.  None of his helps.  Any suggestions?

    ATR,
Thanks for your reply and comments.
My Premier Elements program 13 is running on a 64 bit computer with Windows 8.1, with all drivers updated—I think.
When I press the space bar instead of the play button, still no movement at all.
When I created a new video with just a couple of pictures, still no luck getting the play button or spacebar to work.
So far, I have not found the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file, even with your instructions.  When I get to "roaming" there is no file for Adobe in that folder.
Another clue:  When I began to add narration, the microphone did not work, so I changed some settings relating to audio and recording.  The problem with the play button began, I think, as a result my getting the mike to work.  But since I am not exactly sure what I changed, I can’t go back and reset those settings.
BTW, when I close PE 13 and open PE 11, everything that I created in 11 works fine.  That is, the play button advances the time line indicator, as it should.  So, the problem seems to not be in my computer settings, but something unique to PE 13.

  • Premier elements 11 (trial) tries to run but video editor does not appear

I've installed trial version of Premier elements 11 OK and Icon appears on desktop. When I try to run it, I can see from my screen that it tries to load and initialise but the video editor does not appear. Any ideas? I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium. I can see the .exe appear in the task manager process list and then disappears after 10 or so seconds.

  • Photoshop premier elements free trial

    Good morning everyone
I am really interested in purchasing the photoshop premier elements program, but I will download the free 30 day trial first just to make sure I can actually work it (I am teaching myself)
What I wanted to know is, does the free trial have a photo shop water mark over the free trial period ? also.. what is the free trial missing compared to the full version?
    Thanks for any help

oes the free trial have a photo shop water mark over the free trial period ?
There is no Water Mark as such in PSE, but there is one in PRE, I believe. You can confirm the same in PRE forum.
also.. what is the free trial missing compared to the full version?
Trial is all the same as the Full version, so that you can have a look and feel of all the features. Just that you will be able to do so for 30 days before it expires.

  • Elements 8 - Very odd audio problem

Hi, I'm having some trouble with the audio in Adobe Premier Elements 8. I have a set of videos that were recorded on my HD Flip camcorder, about 200 or so videos, that when imported into Elements don't have any audio; the video plays back normally. To clarify further, videos that have been taken on the same camera before and after this set of videos import correctly, and playback the audio and video fine in Elements. Also, the set of videos that don't work in Elements playback normally in quicktime, so I know they are not corrupted. When I put one of these videos into Element's timeline, I can see that there is no audio, as the waveform is just a flat line. If anyone can help me with this it'd be much appreciated!

Search this forum... flip video needs to be convert to be able to edit
I don't use flip, but I **think** you need to convert to DV AVI type 2 with 16bit 48khz sound

  • Premier Elements 9 - Trial - SLUGGISH?

Ok...  So, I've been using Premier Pro 1.5 for a few years, and now have a Flip, which the Pro 1.5 does not accept (MP4).  Bummer.
So, I'm not going to spend $1500 on the latest and greatest, when really I don't need something that robust.  I downloaded and installed (trial) Elements 9.
This software is so Sluggish, I can't imagine spending $99 for it.
    My system:
    AMD Phenom X4 3.20ghz
    4gig of mem
    Nividia 9600GT
    Win7 64
I'd think, my system would have Zero problem with this software.
Yes, I have the latest updates for Win7.  I think there's a new update for Quicktime, but the recent update can't be that old, as my system is fresh [install as of 2 months ago].  Nvidia drivers are up to date.
Here's what I do...  I create videos of music a record.  Video and Audio.  Audio is done with Audition 1.5, then imported into the video proggy.  From there I slice and dice it up to what I'm looking to create.  Video is from DV and the Flip.
    Suggestions?  Look at other solutions?

Well...  PowerDirector runs as I'd expect...  very smooth.
I think the difference is, PD creates a shadow file for editing.  Then in final render, it uses the HD file.   this way the timeline or storyboard isn't bogged down by HD content.   Can elements do that?   (even though, when I pull the actual HD content onto the timeline (not rendered) the program still runs smooth.  I'll try elements with a simple DV file and see if it's still bogged down.  If that's that case, then it's not the file content, but something with Win7 and elements not getting along.
A problem with PD though is the timeline can't be changed to Audio units.  I'm not sure if Elements can either, now that I think about it.  I need it at that level (00:00:00000) because I need to sync the audio precisely with the video  (recorded separately).
an interesting note..  PD does not display Wave form for wav files, but does for mp3's.  Need that too.    Looks like PD isn't going to work, although, I will say I like it...  mostly because it runs as you'd expect a program to run....  smooth.

  • CS5 Premiere Pro Trial - .mts Audio Problem

Maybe this is because of the trial limitations, I don't know. But when I import .mts files, there's no audio coming with the files? Is it because it's the trial version or could it be something else?
BTW - I've got a quad core processor with a GeForce 9500 GS video card. The video seams to work fine, there's just no audio associated with the video files. Any help would be appreciated.

While the trial has everything MPEG disabled, Adobe offers a 30-day, money-back guarantee on the purchase of the full version. It's really like a 60-day trial, with the first 30-days being without anything MPEG, and the second with 100% of the features, though there is an exchange of money after the first 30-days, but you get that back, if you return the full-paid product within the second 30-days. That test drive should tell you if you want PrPro, or FCP.
    Good luck,

  • Premier Elements 12 MAC - newBlue Audio Polish causes static?

What gives here? I'm on a MacBook Pro - latest system & latest update to elements.  I was liking Elements 12 until I got to the audio. I just want a little reverb / room ambiance on a narration track and the NewBlue audio polish adds static to the track at the same time.  Also, why no simple reverb control, or graphic eq, or other normal audio goodies? Really cripples a program, which otherwise is fairly sophisticated.  Am I missing something?

    jspmax
This is not Adobe. Just a user to user forum. If you want to communicate your Premiere Elements feature requests to Adobe, you might consider doing that through its Adobe Feature Request/Bug Report Form.
Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form
I think that I see your problem in that you want a Reverb effect, it is a Windows Only Premiere Elements audio effect, and you are trying for a workaround on Mac with the New Blue Audio Polish audio filter which is said to have an Ambience option. Is that correct?
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premiereelements/using/WS4B8135DA-083C-42eb-B09E-65070ECBC889. html#WSF8CBE888-6702-4f8b-A85E-71B4B1531883
The New Blue Audio Polish Ambience setting has a range of 0 to 100. What is the setting that you are using and end up with static?
I have explored created some narration clips and applied the New Blue Audio Polish Ambience filter to it and adjusted just the Ambience option. I have not encountered any static as part of the result.
Do you have the same problem static if you use the New Blue Audio Polish on other than a narration clip? And, is this narration clip created with the program's Narration Tool or created from a 3rd party software?
We will be watching for your follow up.
    Thank you.

  • Premier Elements 4.0 Get Media Problems

When I use get media to import a .mpg video file, it only gets part of the file. I'm using Vista on my Dell XPS 420. I have been using Premiere Elements 4.0 for over a year without issue until now. It works fine with Roxio. Any thoughts out there?

This is not from a new source, Sony HDD video camera I have always used. Seems cumbersome to have to convert the files when it always worked in the past as an mpeg. I have checked the camera to make sure that the way it is saving the files as not been changed but there are no such options.
