Premier Elements 8 and Windows Media Output
Hello,
I recently bought a new computer (Win 7 64 bit) to replace my old PC (Vista 32 Bit). On my old PC I had Premier Elements 7, but got Premier Elements 8 for the new PC. I like to create Windows Media files as output so I can watch the videos from my XBox 360. But I noticed that the output from PE8 takes takes up much less of the screen than the output from PE7. In other words, when I play the WMV file (on either my computer or the XBox), there is a large black border around the video. When running a WMV file from PE7, the video takes up the entire screen area.
As an experiment, I imported about a 10 second clip from my video camera. I then created a video in WMV from both PCs using the exact same settings (HD 1080i 30 - I went to the advanced settings and made sure every setting was the same). And the results were consistent. The video from PE7 took up the entire screen (in Windows Media Player), while the PE8 output had a significant border around it (I tried playing each file on both PCs and got the same results).
It's much nicer when watching the videos on my HD TV from the XBox if the videos take up the entire screen rather than taking up a much smaller portion of the screen. Any ideas on how to get the output the same would be appreciated. Thanks!
I unchecked the setting on the clip and it resolved the issue! I found the setting under Edit, Preferences, General, Default Scale to Frame Size (no longer the last setting). It looks like for existing projects I'll have to go and set this on a clip by clip basis (which some have a ton of individual clips). Hopefully on new projects it will import it correctly.
Thanks for the answers!

Let us go through the usual drill on this...Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 8.1 (assumed 64 bit)
1. Are you running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges? Go to Local Disk C/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Premiere Elements 13, find the Adobe Premiere Elements.exe file, right click it, select and apply Run As Administrator from the pop up menu that appears, and then double click that file to determine if you can open the program from it.
2. Does the problem issue exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
3. Are you working with a pen and tablet device instead of a mouse?
4. How many video cards/graphics cards do you find under Device Manager/Display Adapters, what card name, driver date and up to date version number?
When you say it will not run...how far into the program do you get...
a. no further than the Welcome Screen and Video/New Project
b. other
If non of the above gets us anywhere, we may go for
a. deletion of the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if necessary, the whole 13.0 Folder in which it exists
and, if necessary, then
b. the uninstall, free ccleaner run through, and reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
Details to follow if needed.
We will be watching for your results and then decide what next.

Premier Elements 12, windows 7 64 bit pro
When editing, half way through my program, when DTI is moved when I make a cut, the video on the time line that is visible does not change.
I quiet and started again, and the same happened when I was half way through my program
I have three cameras. I add three videos to the time line. One on top of
the other. I change cameras after about 40 seconds.
I am not using a switcher and thanks to adobe, I have no need for that.
I have been using Adobe since Premier Elements 9. Normally I have no
problem. Yesterday this started. It is strange.
I will try to burn a disk and see if it comes out right, if not then I
will try another video. Maybe that will make a difference.
I doubt that would make a difference. My you have an opinion???
Thanks again
Jim

Zen Vision M and Windows Media Player 11 SOLUT
Ok this is for all of you that have Windows Media Player (WMP ) and can't get your album art to be displayed.
Go here
Support (You will see this near the top of your screen in the orange bar)
2 Software AutoUpdate
3 Accept (this will only work I you player is connected tour computer)
4 You will now be told what device you have connected on your computer
5 Check Update (this may take a couple of minute even with broadband)
And Download this

[size="">This update resolves compatibility issues between Creative Media Explorer or Creative MediaSource? Player/Organizer, and Windows Media? Player (WMP). For more details, read the rest of this web release note.
This update has rectified the problem for me If these steps do not work for you try looking for the download direct by doing the following
Support (You will see this near the top of your screen in the orange bar)
2 Downloads (Follow the steps to select the product YOU have)
3 Select YOUR Language and YOUR Operating System, leave file types set to All
4 Click Go
5 Download Patch
I have the latest Firmware installed (found it easiest to do using the Software AutoUpdate section of the website) even installed with WMP on my pc.
Also I updated my creative media explorer, which allowed me to convert more video files from the same place. I found this really usefull.
I have?NOT had the problem of my player not being recognised when connected to my pc and unfortunately I do not know how to solve that problem, sorry, hope some one else can help you with that.Well I figured it out. Turns out if you go to Sync(little down arrow)>DEVICE_NAME>Advanced Options>Quality if you leave it on automatic it will transfer wav files, but if you change it (I did without knowing) then the highest quality you're going to get is 92 WMA.

CoreCentre and Windows Media Player 9
I have a problem with CoreCentre and Windows Media Player 9. When CoreCentre is running, the CD drive stops and starts when I am playing an audio CD with Media Player 9. If I use any other Cd audio player (eg Creative Mediasource Player) it does not happen. I like to use Windows Media Player 9 (I am probably one of the few) but do not wish to turn off CoreCentre.
Can you help me please. I have asked MSI support staff with no luck and also Microsoft Support (They suggested I go into Safe Mode and see if it still happens - of course it doesn't - I am in Safe Mode! - nothing works!!!).
I am running Windows XP Pro SP1 with 865Pe Neo2 board, 1GB DDR3200 RAM and Pentium 4 3.0 GHz.
SherylWell first of all get out of "safe mode"...It's no fun in there ...No really, I can believe that you are not the only one that this happens to ...You have to understand that "CORE-CENTER" is a resource hog!!..As it has to be in order to give you that critical info in "real-time"..So I take it that this prob. only happens when you are running the CD or DVD programs?...Do you have your DRAM Voltage set to 2.7 Volts?..As this always seems to help on these MO-BO'S (i865-i875)...And if that does'nt work why not just close down "CORE-CENTER?..Until you are finnished with you CD'S ..Sean REILLY875

Which Code of avi can play in QT Pro and Window Media Player?
Which Code of avi also can play in QT Pro and Window Media Player?
Nevermind ... not that simple apparently. I managed to get one of the avi's in the CS5 project created automatically when opening the original CS4 project to show the entire contents but can't replicate the behavior to another project using the same avi. Here are the media start, end, duration and video in, out duration values for the file. Viewing the avi in the source monitor I can see the full 16+ minutes. Odd disconnect between the 2 sets of values.
Any idea would be great!
Thanks,

Have there been any reports of a faulty installer with Premier in the Boxed set? Photoshop installed so seamlessly it's odd that this is popping up.
Thanks in advance!!Eitehr your Windows installer is damaged or you run without sufficient user privileges. Run Windows Update to repair the installer and make sure to run as admin. also turn off any security stuff temporarily.

Audio sync different between QuickTime and Windows Media Player
I've run into a new problem I've never encountered before. When playing a video on QuickTime on a Windows PC, the audio is in perfect sync. However, when I play the same QT video on Windows Media Player, the audio is out of sync by as much as three seconds. The Windows software is current. The source content is created using ProTools 10 on a Mac running Yosemite, from an original QT mp4 converted to a .mov via quicktime for import into ProTools. The output was a standard .mov. I also tried converting it to an mp4 via QT, but the result was the same.
This is a pretty alarming discovery as I now have to test any videos bounced from ProTools on a PC Windows Media Player to make sure someone doesn't view it this way, with the audio sync appearing incorrectly.
Anybody know why this happened? Or how to prevent it in the future?you can buy and use the WMV Studio windows media export components from Flip4Mac which wil allow you to export to a windows media format directly from FCP and other suitable QT compliant apps ...
or you can copy the file over onto your own quicktime enabled PC and use the free, and much faster, windows media encoder there. -
Premier Elements 12C:\Windows\system32\DCIMAN32.dll
I made installation of Premier Elements 12, but it won't start. Windows says only there is something wrong "C:\Windows\system32\DCIMAN32.dll"
Here's a common solution.
Try running the System File Checker. Click on Start and type cmd in the "Search programs and files" box. Cmd.exe will appear at the top of the Menu. Rightclick on it and choose "Run as Administrator". Once the Command Prompt opens, type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes and hit Enter. The System File Checker will start. It might take a while to complete so be patient. Reboot when it has completed and let us know if this helped. -
Install Error 1935 Adobe Premier Elements 10 Windows 7 64
So Windows 7 looks like it's finishing up installing Premier Elements 10 when I get an error message and Windows rolls back the install. I know others might have had similar issues but I haven't found any sort of solution that works.
I spent about 6 hours trying different things. Trying to use safe mode and running without any extra services through MSconfig.
I even tried reinstalling NET Framework and changing the registry keys (which I wasn't able to do since it won't let me delete the .NET Framework key even with permissions.)
I also downloaded the trial version of Premier elements but it came up with the same error message.
Here is what I keep on getting:
I will be calling the phone support on Monday but I have a feeling they will say it's just something wrong with my computer. Which I don't think is possible because I was able to install the Vegas HD trial and other programs easily enough.Well I went through that list before. I did try yet another install using all those suggestions. No Dice.
The only thing I can come up with is that I tried to install a really old version of premiere 7 that wasn't able to be installed since it wasn't supported by Windows 7. So maybe that screwed up things?
Either that or I just have severe Registry issues with NET Framework and I can't get those keys fixed. But again I am able to get other programs installed and whatnot.
I have already tried to clean up my registry a few ways.
The only thing I can think of to get this program installed is to do a complete windows 7 reinstall and that would just be a giant pain. But still, I paid good money for this product.
I will wait and contact customer support on Monday. -
Trying to download Premier Elements and getting 64 bit error message
I called support at first when problem downloading. They sent me a link for both Elements and Premier. Photoshop Elements worked. Premier I got it downloaded then at setup it says cannot use the installation for 64 bit. I have Windows 8 64 bit. Confused! Anyone able to assist me? I have a brain injury so please be specific. Thanks so much.
Hi pamh8,
The error you are facing ususally comes up when you try to install the software on a 32 bit computer.
Please check your computer specifications and let me know the exact details.
Also please let me know the exact error message (with screenshots if possible). -
I'll start off by saying I'd much rather use flash video, but
the client isn't allowing that option.
I have a training page with Flash on the left and a windows
media screen on the right.
The page is set so they look like one seemless scene. The
video plays and then needs
to be able to play an action in the flash side when it
finishes playing the video. Then once the
action is taken by the enduser in flash then the next video
plays. This would all be sooo simple
if I could use flv but I can't. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Two places to check:
In your Utilities folder, go to Audio MIDI Setup.app. Select it. When the panel opens make sure your Output settings are: Line Out - 44100 mhz, 16 bit 2 channel. Also, make sure the volume slides are to the far right.
Restart the computer.
If no change, go to your System Preferences>Sound>Output. Make sure Line Out is selected, again slider to the far right.
As an aside, if you recently upgraded to 10.4.8, make sure you "repaired permissions" using Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
