Premier Elements Installation

Just tried twice to install Premiere elements on a Mac (OS 10.10.2) and each time when I try to launch the prog a dialogue says it's damaged. The tried to install Application Manager 8.0 and the "update", as it seems to be, fails with message "Installer failed to initialize". Anyone any ideas?

What version of Premiere Elements on your Mac computer operating system?
I would encourage you to do the Premiere Elements uninstall and reinstall by the typical Mac way.
But, between the uninstall and the reinstall, please do a free ccleaner run through to get rid of leftovers from
incomplete uninstalls and reinstalls.
CCleaner - Download
Until proven otherwise, this is not the Adobe Tool that you were pointed to.
Where are your installation files coming from - Adobe, as purchased download or other?
Are you doing the installs with the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Please review and consider and offer more details. Depending on your details and if necessary, I will post
an alternative source for obtaining new installation files for your purchased serial number.
Thank you.

  • Premier elements installer question

I downloaded premier elements 12 and photoshop elements 12 and neither will lauch an installer.
how do I get this software installed and operable?

Nobody can know. you have not provided any system information. The installers not even launching, however, probably means that you don't meet the system requirements. Look them up on the product pages.

  • Still battling Premier Element installation.

I have a download from March--will not install.
I have a download from June--will not install.
I have the CD--will not install.
I keep getting a message to uninstall and reinstall, error message:1
    Quicktime no longer works.
I downloaded the Adobe Download assistant and foolishly choose to not install at that time and now it is sitting on my desktop with absolutely no menu to use it
What ticks me off is I had it installed and registered and working.  When I opened PSE 12 yesterday it said I needed to register it, even though I had.already done so.  It was a nuisance but within a few minutes I was back editing photos.  I thought that since that was so easy I might as well do Premier elements, too. It would not open, even though it had before.  I have been on a downward slide since.  My feeling is this: you put the disk in, click a coupla times and it works!  I have downloaded more crap from Adobe (Air, twice; Quicktime, twice; Application manger, twice: download assistant, even Creative cloud)  in the fruitless pursuit to install  something that really could be semi-easy but is not for reasons unknown.  I've "installed" PRE STI64 installer- twice;  It just sits there with Download Assitant like two lumps of clay. There is no menu to allow me to use it. It was the only .exe file I could find in the PRE12 folder.
I must stress I love PSE 12, I am not a critic of the software, I have no axe to grind; in short, I am an ally, But this business with  Premier Elements is driving me to distraction.  I have spent hours, many hours of frustration with this project.
One more thing, I cannot find a means by which to edit my user name and remove my email address from it.
I wish to thank those of you who have so kindly and quickly responded to my call for help.

I do not work for Adobe nor am I affiliated with in it in any way. I have no promotional interests in Adobe, only the interests of a fellow Premiere Elements user. So, please keep that in mind in what I am about to write.
I think we got off on the wrong foot with this thread issue. All the chat about duplicate threads did not help matters. As you can see, there was no troubleshooting of issue ever started for your issue. And, it looks like your thread (duplicate or not) got lost in the daily traffic here. I apologize for the latter since I try to make sure that no thread is left unanswered with a viable answer. I do that because I want to, not because I am told to do that. (It does not take me from June 14th to June 21st to think about an issue as reflected in the lapse of time since my last post in the thread that we are in now until now.)
If you have decided to close this thread and pursue other avenues for your video editing, we wish you the best.
If you want to get into some real troubleshooting, then please let me know. The following is a preview of my initial troubleshooting strategy based on what you wrote.
    1. What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 to work on?
    2. The fact that QuickTime, as a standalone software, is no longer working in your computer environment implies that Premiere Elements 12 is probably not the core of the issue.
    3. I would like you to contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat to sort through the topic "Downloading, Installing, and Setting Up". Two reasons...it can offer you remote control of your computer for troubleshooting and it may have undocumented information that impacts your specific situation. To do that, click on the following link, and, when it opens, click on "Still need help? Contact us." to open Adobe Chat. I set the following link to open to that web page with the "Still need help? Contact us." spot to click on. Not sure the link will hold the set. Hope so. If not, you may have some navigating to do.
    Contact Customer Care
In the process you should finally arrive at what looks like the following
Under Contact options, Recommended, click on the Chat choice. This appears to be a new Adobe format for Adobe Chat
    contact.
Please let us know the outcome if you do pursue this troubleshooting opportunity. If you opt not to, you need not reply to
this thread and can just consider your participation in the thread closed as of your post 4.
    Best wishes

  • Premier Elements installation seemed to work, but...

There's no icon, just a Premier 10 folder on the desktop with "contents" and read me files. I had 8 and downloaded to update to version 10. It appeard to go through the installation and set up process, but i guess a fuse blew somewhere... Do I need to kill 8 to get 10 to come up?

Have there been any reports of a faulty installer with Premier in the Boxed set? Photoshop installed so seamlessly it's odd that this is popping up.
    Thanks in advance!!

Eitehr your Windows installer is damaged or you run without sufficient user privileges. Run Windows Update to repair the installer and make sure to run as admin. also turn off any security stuff temporarily.

  • Install Adobe Premier Elements 9 results in Windows Installer window pop up

Installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 fine.  When installing Adobe Premier Elements 9, the installation fails during 'Configuring Windows Installer' and a pop up window appears with the title 'Windows Installer'.  What do I need to do to get this software installed?

You need at least 30GB (or better, 60GB) free defragmented space for PRE9 to work. Do you have this? You may have been on the borderline during install and your first project, so when you rendered your project, or restarted the machine, (possibly Windows creating a system restore point) your free space dropped below the limit.
Can you also confirm that you didn't install any new software between the saving and opening of your project.
Here are some general points you should work through to maximise your chances of success
    Install all Windows Updates.
Install latest version of Apple QuickTime (v7.6.8 at time of writing). Even if you don't use QuickTime, PRE relies heavily on it.
Install most recent graphics and sound drivers from the manufacturers web sites.
    Run Disk Cleanup.
    Run Defragmenter.
Temporarily disable any anti-virus realtime scanning.
And give us some information about your clip and hardware:
Use the GSpot Codec Information Utility to analyse the file and post screen image.
What project preset did you use?
Where did the clip come from?
How did you get it into PRE?

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements running on?
Have you gone through the typical drills of
    1. Latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements?
    2. Running program from User Account with Administrative Privileges as well as from Run As Administrator applied to the desktop icon
with right click of the icon, followed by selecting Run As Administrator?
    3. Does problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
    4. Even though the Premiere Elements 12 Editor will not open, can you open the Elements Organizer 12?
If Yes to all of the above, please review the following for a possible solution...

  • Reinstall Premier Elements 11 after the original installation drive failed. Error 1327.Invalid Drive

I am attempting to reinstall Adobe Premier Elements 11 from DVD on a Windows 7 64bit system.  The drive that hosted my original instance has failed.  It was installed on a secondary drive, E that, sadly, is no longer with the system.  In the reinstall process I am removing the original instance, as seemes to be required, but I enconter the error "Error1327.Invalid Drive: E:\".
How do I proceed with getting Adobe Premier Elements 11 back on my system?
Note: Similar problem with Photoshop Elements, except that no errors are encountered, it just fails to launch as it appears to have pointers back to the failed drive.

You would have to manually edit that info from the Registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software and possibly also manually empty the Windows installer cache. Perhaps soem alternate "Uninstaller" like Revo can help you clean out this stuff...

  • Adobe Premier Element 8 installation problem

We recently upgraded our computer from Windows Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit.  In order to do this we had to reinstall the whole OS and we lost all of our applications.  We have a license for Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Adobe Premiere Elements 8.  We were successful at installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 8, but when we tried to install the Adobe Premiere Elements 8, it gave us the following error: "Either Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0 is not installed on the system or has corrupted.  So please install Adobe Premier Elements 8.0 and then retry.".  It appears as though the installer thinks it should be performing an upgade.  Any ideas?

Could be a simple compatibility issue. not sure if PSE/PPE 8 is even qualified for Win 7. Try to run the installer in one of the compatibility modes.
