Premier elements keeps crashing

i am having trouble with premier elements 12, every time i save a new project.. it crashes when i eventually find the locating folder and try to play it ??

From the Premiere Elements Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1042180
•What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".
•Have you installed any recent program or OS updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
•What kind(s) of image file(s)? When talking about camera raw files, include the model of camera.
•If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
•What were you doing when the problem occurred?
•What other software are you running?
•Tell us about your computer hardware. How much RAM is installed?  How much free space is on your system (C:) drive?
•Has this ever worked before?  If so, do you recall any changes you made to Premiere Elements, such as adding Plug-ins, brushes, etc.?  Did you make any changes to your system, such as updating hardware, printers or drivers; or installing/uninstalling any programs?
And some other questions...
•What are you editing, and does your video have a red line over it BEFORE you do any work?
•Have you viewed the tutorial links at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1275830 page?
•Which version of Quicktime do you have installed?
What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
-If Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself

  • Adobe Premier Elements 7- crash-when burning says" Please insert a blank disk" and already a disk in

I have a Adobe Premier Elements 7. I have had a lot of problems with it of crashing and not burning.. I just had my computer wiped out and installed everything back on like windows xp service pack 3..etc. First I have Windows XP service pack 3 with an Intel Core 2CPU ,6400 @213GHz, 2.13 GHz, 1.98 GB of RAM.  When I went into disk menus premier elements 7 crashes... why is that??? also I tried to burn a DVD and does the progress of burniing and almost done burning WHILE there is a dvd in the drive and says"Please insert a blank disk and click ok to burning" why doe sit do that also? I just had adobe reinstalled and my computer wiped out? Please respond and help.. I am using this program as a business of video editing and nee this solved.

Along with Steve's questions, let's talk about the process of Burning a DVD-Video.
From PrE, which is doing the authoring of the DVD-Video, the first thing that happens is a quick check of the Project and the Menu Set chosen. This happens in an instant. Next, the program must Transcode the Timeline to MPEG-2 that is fully DVD-compliant. This takes some time and is a very intensive process, stressing the computer, and also heating things up greatly. This process will often cause a poorly ventilated, or poorly cooled computer to crash with either a reboot, or a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). Every component, save for the video card, will be stressed like few other programs can do. PrE uses a 2-pass Transcode, where it goes through the entire Timeline, and maps out sections with high motion, or great detail. It builds a "script" on how to proceed, and then goes back at the Timeline with that script, but also still looking for ways to improve things. This is about 90% of the entire Burn Disc process. Nothing has yet to be burned. Instead, files are created in the Scratch Disk folders. Now, the program takes those newly created MPEG-2 files, the Menus, and all navigation such as Markers, and assembles them into another working folder, in the full DVD structure of VIDEO_TS folder with the IFO, BUP and VOB's. When this is done, the actual physical Burn starts. This is quite a ways into the total process. It is at this point, that the program looks at the burner and the blank media, and not before.
When the program cannot get the necessary info from the burner, or the blank media, it will throw an error message, similar to yours. Also, "SenseCode Errors" usually indicate a problem with the burner, or the media.
Now, let's address this last bit. Is the firmware for your burner up to date? If not, update/flash the firmware. This will be available from your burner mfgr's. Web site. Next, what brand of blank media are you using? Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden are the most recommended brands. Memorex, TDK, newer Ritek and all store brands should be avoided at all costs. Last, is your burner a fully-certified multi-drive? If so, it should be able to handle +R, or -R media. What type are you using, and are you sure that this is blank media, and not a disc that you have already burned, or even attempted to burn?
Hope that we can stop the crashes, and get you to burning.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Premiere Element keep crashing in vista

is there a way to avoid Premiere element keep crashing on Vista Home edition?
My project has about 700 video clips and I am adding about 150 clips in the timeline and adding some transitions. I don't think I am doing some crazy editiing. However, it just keep crashing and close the application. does anyone know how to avoid it or any work around?
Right now i have to save my project every 5 minutes to save my work, this is like going back to 70's.

And make sure you have Vista SP1 and at least 2 gigs of RAM and that you've optimized the operating system so that you're not wasting resources.
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bc448a7
But Paul's definitely right. Particularly if you are editing other than video from a miniDV camcorder, your project is excessively large. The FAQs at the top of our forum tell you how to work on a large project in small parts.

  • Why does Premier elements keep stopping working?

Premier elements keeps shutting down with a message saying that it has stopped working and will find asolution to the problem on line but it never connects with anything nor does it provide any answers.

    Garth,
What has happened is that recently, some camera mfgrs. have broken from long-established "standards," regarding their video output. We see more of this with less-expensive stills cameras, that also shoot video.
For decades, the standards for SD (Standard Definition) Video has been:
    NTSC:
720 x 480 Standard 4:3 with a PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio) of 0.9 (pixels are taller, than wide).
720 x 480 Widescreen 16:9 with a PAR of 1.2 (pixels are wider, than tall).
    PAL:
720 x 576 Standard 4:3 with a PAR of 1.06 (pixels are wider, than tall, but not by much).
720 x 576 Widescreen 16:9 with a PAR of 1.422 (pixels are wider, than tall).
    768 x 576 Square Pixel w/ a PAR of 1.00
With Stills, which usually use Square Pixels, the size of 640 x 480 works fine, but with Video, the cameras used non-square pixles, in the appropriate PAR. Camera mfgrs. got lazy, and just decided on their own, that they would not bother creating Video with rectangular pixels, like the video standards, and just use the 640 x 480 w/ PAR of 1.0.
Now, PrE 10 was coded, before this became so popular. It is also built around video standards, with output, such as DVD-Video the main focus.
If enough camera mfgrs. have begun producing cameras, that create video at the 640 x 480 w/ PAR = 1.0, then I feel that Adobe will include that Project Preset, and maybe as soon as PrE 11, due out in a few months.
PrPro handles such things differently, in that it offers a Custom Project/Sequence Preset, which allows the user to match the Project/Sequence to odd footage in most attributes. However, PrE does not offer such, and only addresses more standard formats. I have filed Feature Requests for that Custom Preset for about 5 years now, but so far, no-go. As PrPro costs about 6x what PrE does, there WILL be some differences between the two programs, and so far, this is one of them.
We will just have to wait and see what is introduced in the future - though by then, camera mfgrs. might go off on another tangent, and decide to use some other format and PAR for their cameras. Who knows?
Some users have had success at hacking PrE's Presets, to accommodate other formats (several such hacked Presets are listed in the Tips & Tricks sub-forum, with links to that work), but I have not seen one for 640 x 480 PAR = 1.0.
If one does mind either a bit of Scaling, and cropping of the Video Frame, or a little bit of distortion, they can use that footage in a Standard Preset, and just adjust it a little.
Good luck, and I hope that this explains why Adobe has not caught up to this deviation from the standards.

Thanks for your recent posts detailing your TImeline issues. Because of the varied remedies and setbacks with which you are dealing with, let us recap for a moment about some basics so as not to take anything for granted.
Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 8.1 64 bit
    1. What is the video card/graphics card that the computer uses and is it up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card? Does you Device Manager/Display Adapters area show 1 or 2 cards?
    2. Review your settings under Edit Menu/Preferences/Audio Hardware ASIO Settings.
    3. Delete the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file, and, if necessary, the whole 12.0 Folder in which it exists.
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    12.0
and in the 12.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.
    4. Do a ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry part)
    https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
    5. Assure that you do not have pile up of preview files, conformed audio files, or conformed video files.
See Libraries\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Elements\12.0 and Adobe Premiere Elements Preview Files Folders (for preview files), Media Cache Files Folder (for conformed audio cfa and pek).
See Edit Menu/Preferences/Media and the Media Cache Database area Clean button.
    6. Generally check Scratch Disks for location and free space at the location to which each is directed.
    See Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks.
    7. General question...how project specific have these issues become?
Please review and let us rule these factors in or out.
    Thanks for the follow ups.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 10 running on and does the computer use a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card?
Please read the Announcement at the top of this forum on the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Ge Force issue which forces the user to roll back the driver version to around May 2013 in order to work with Premiere Elements 10. For your convenience, the following is a copy/paste of that Announcement.
Announcement:Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are
experiencing Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of
troubleshooting needs to be rolling back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained
workflow glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video
card. If this applies to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as
far as is necessary to get rid of the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013
in order to get a working Premiere Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this
regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1317675
Older NVIDIA GeForce drivers can be found
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
A February 2014 overview of the situation as well as how to use the older NVIDIA GeForce drivers for the driver
    roll back can be found
    http://atr935.blogspot.com/2014/02/pe10-nvidia-video-card-roll-back.html
Do you run the program with the AutoSave feature On? If so, please check the Adobe Premiere Elements AutoSave Folder which should be (by default)
in Libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/10.0 Then right click the latest AutoSave for this crashed project and select Open With Adobe Premiere Elements 10.0.
Where do you save the project.prel for this project?
Can you go to that hard drive save location (probably LIbraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/10.0), right click the project.prel file, and select
Open With Adobe Premiere Elements 10.0.
If necessary, I will post instructions for deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if necessary, the whole 10.0 Folder in which it exists.
We will be watching for your details and results.
    Thank you.

  • Photoshop Elements keeps crashing

For some reason Photoshop elements 4.0 keeps crashing. I have the crash log but don't understand it. Can anyone help? All my other applications work fine.
I send reports to Apple and Adobe is really no help at all.

Hmm. I would try this. First remove com.adobe.bridge.plist. If that doesn't do it, go to applications>PE 4.0>plug-ins>import/export and remove the Adobe TWAIN driver. See if that helps.
EDIT Oh, wait. Before doing either of those, delete the Opera preferences folder. That may be your problem (PE help is run on opera).

  • Premier Elements 3 crashes when 'Burn' button clicked or 'Export to DVD' selected

After compiling a slide show in Premier Elements ( including rendering, previewing, saving) and I then try to either “Burn” or “Export to DVD” the programme immediately shows “Adobe Premier Elements.exe application error.  The instruction at 0X0000000 reference memory 0X0000000.  The memory could not be read.” OK or Cancel immediately shuts the program down and can’t be re-opened until the computer is re-started. On shut down a second message is displayed “The instruction at 0x00f96cb7 reference memory at 0x00000000.  The memory could not be read. OK to terminate.’ I have replaced the RAM. I have repaired the programme many times with my original disc. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the programme many times. I have uninstalled Nero in case of a conflict. These fixing attempts seemed to have stopped message 2 appearing and the programme can now be restarted after it crashes without having to reboot. I have not been able to cure message 1, it crashes completely at any attempt to ‘burn’ a DVD or ‘export to a DVD’. I can use Windows to burn other discs without problems. I have previously burnt many other slideshow DVD’s without problem.
I cannot find anything similar to this fault in PE forums.
    Hope to find some help.

    Rosemary,
Trying to remember the full article, I do not think that I used too much "jargon," but in case that I did, I'll give you a quick distillation. You might want to still read on, as much more will be covered in that article.
When one starts a Project and then does a Save, a file is written to the location that the user chose. That file is [Project Name].prel. That file uses a computer language called XML. In the article, I show and example of a little bit of that language. That file ONLY contains a series of lines that link to the location of all Imported Asset files - the AV files, the still images, etc.. Those links are to where the various files were located on one's computer, when they did the Save. Next, there are a series of instructions for PrE to work with those linked Assets. These might be along the lines of "cut Shot_01.AVI at 00;00;30;00 and then again at 00;00;45;00," or "apply the Gaussian Blur Effect to Shot_02.AVI." Things like that. PrE is what is called a non-destructive NLE (Non Linear Editor) program, in that it never directly does anything to your original Assets, but only to the info gathered from them though those links. Your files are untouched, unless you were to do an Export/Share to that location, with the exact same name.
The .prel file only has some programming language inside. It is basically a database of links and instructions - not one Asset. It is not until a user does an Export, or Share (those terms basically mean the same thing, but in later versions, some of the old Export functions are now only under the Share tab), that any playable file is generated from PrE. Until then, there is nothing to play, only to Open in PrE (so long as the linked Assets still exist).
I hope that this makes sense. Many users are under the mistaken impression that Save will yield a playable file, or that one can play a .prel file. That is not the case, as explained above. This question has come up often enough, that I did the article to point out the differences, and give some tips on how to really get what one wishes.
After you read through the article, please do not hesitate to post any questions. What I want is something that is useful to all, regardless of their level of computer expertise, or their knowledge and familiarity with PrE, or any other NLE program.
    Just let me know,
    Hunt

  • Premier Elements 13 crashing whenever I try and use the top menu? Why?

Recently purchased Premier Elements 13. I am in the middle of a project and although I can edit the timeline if I try to do anything from the top menu it simply crashes and closes the programme down. Any ideas?
I am using a PC Windows 7. Have all the updates and installed Quick Time. What else can I do?

    Vince
Sort of a check list to make sure that nothing got overlooked by me along the way...
    1. Did you double check the video card/graphics card's and its driver's control panel offered you in the computer to determine if there are some settings there that you could fine tune?
    2. Have you created a new User Account with Administrative Privileges and installed and tried to run the program from there? I think that we mentioned that but
I am not sure of the outcome on that - whether it was put off temporarily or done and found not to matter.
    3. Did you ever work with new source of installation files?
    http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-13-direct-download-links-premiere.html
Remember to read and carry out carefully the web site's "Note: Very Important Instructions" to avoid an Access Denied message.
Do you have any video editing or special programs on your computer (maybe even special plug-ins or codecs that you installed) that
might be candidates for interfering agent.

  • Premier Elements 12 Crashes on OSX Maverick

I am trying to use Premier Elements 12 on a MAC with OSX Maverick latest updates. When I start editing a project the program crashes at some point every single time with the Unexpected Error Has Occurred message. All of my work is lost even though I have named and saved the project. The files used in the project are also missing from Elements. I can't get any work done. • Premiere elements keep crashing with rendering and mid editing!

    Hey
I have used adobe premiere elements 10 for a little over a month now. But recently pre began to crash then I was rendering a video!
I began searching on "Adobe premiere elements 10 rendering crash", but didn't find a answer. But, I notices that some people had the problem with render crash when the process bar reached 27%, I tried rendering two times in a row, and notices that my rendering where crashing at 31%!
I have really no clue what the problem could be!
    4g ram
    3,20ghz cpu intel
    64bit

Also see this article on PrE crashing, or hanging: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/792580?tstart=0
It starts with a checklist for PrE, then goes into detail on tuning up one's system and OS, and then goes into troubleshooting problems, with links to other articles, and also tools to help troubleshoot the problem(s). The first part is pretty easy, and then things pick up in "degree of difficulty," as you progress, ending with The Case of the Unexplained.

I have run it in compatibility mode
    What am I missing?

I guess the issue is on Windows. Please refer to Editor section of blog: http://tinyurl.com/afrvtk3
Please revert if your issue persists.

  • Premier Elements 2 Crashing

I have used Premiere Elements 2 for years without a problem, editing movies of upto 50 minutes.  All of a sudden, with a project that is only 9 minutes long, error messages flash up telling me that Prem Elements is running low on system memory and the computer crashes.  I can only do about 2 things to the timeline before the system decides it can't cope.  IT IS GETTING RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!  Now, i am not a computer geek, so i have no idea what i am doing wrong but i do know that my computer has enough RAM to cope.  I've also had ' Debug Error.  Abnormal program termination'.  What is going on???  And why, is it happening now when i have never had a problem before????

I assume you're working on an older XP machine. Premiere Elements 2 will not run on Vista or Windows 7.
That said, if it used to work but suddenly you're having problems, the most likely reason is that your hard drive is filling up and/or defragmenting. How much free space is on your C drive? You really shouldn't operate a program this intensive with less than 30 gigabytes free -- much more, if you're also storing your video and project files on your C drive -- and that should be defragmented weekly. (You should also be running at least 2 gigabytes of RAM.)
Temp files can also fill your drive up invisibly. Advanced System Care is free from IOBit software and it will clear off those temp files and clean up your registry.

And don't forget to defragment also!
And do make sure you've got all of your Windows updates. Go to Windows Update manually and get even the non-critical updates. Then go to the Apple web site and make sure you have the latest version of Quicktime.

There could also be issues with your source files -- but we can cross that bridge once you get your software in order.
