Premier Elements Trial Installation goes into oblivion

Windows 7 64 bit 16 GB memory / Premier Elements Trial Installation goes off into oblivion
I started the installer, ready privacy policy (sort of), chose English, clicked Install. Installer disappears from the screen and the harddrive winks madly for about a half hour. Don't see the program in control panel or installed programs. Re-downloaded, same results.
I've had no installation issues with any other SW including Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS4. What the heck is going on here? - Help appreciated, IM

Troubleshooting installation issues can be a daunting task. Also, most of us on the forum have not had installation issues, so we can only go by what we have read, that has worked for others - little, to no, direct experiences.
Usually, a failure to install is specific to certain aspects, and settings on a particular computer - after one follows the very general guidelines.
If there is a product that is installing and working, that would be a good reason to go with that one, even though it is not from Adobe. Though I have been a big Adobe fan for decades, I still rely on some other programs, that do things that my Adobe suites do not do, or do not do as well. No shame in having a full "toolbox," for when you need something else.
I understand your frustration, and wish that I had some easy "fixes," but after the guidelines in that linked article, things do get very involved.

Premier Elements Trial won't run

I successfully downloaded and installed the Premier Elements Trial version. It comes up with the Welcome to Adobe Premier Elements purple screen with Organize, New Project and Open Project buttons. When I select any of these buttons a progress bar comes up for 5-10 seconds then goes away and back to the same screen. Nothing opens.
This is installed on Windows 7 64 bit.

Adobe Premier Elements 10 installation

Hi there I have purchaced a copy of Photoshop Elements 10, this comes with a trial version of Premier Elements which won't install.
After trying to install it each time I get the error message:

Video in Elements 8 / Premier Elements Trial 8

So I tried the trial version of Premier Elements 8, using existing video from PS Elements 8. The "Instant Movie" function split all my video into scenes, but I didn't like the resulting movie, and have passed on Premier 8 at this time. Now all my selected videos are still split up into scenes in Elements 8, and stacked like photos! How do I put all the "scenes" back together into one video clip?? Thanks for the help!

To build on Barb's suggestions:
- Be sure to never set the Auto-Analyzer to run automatically (Edit > Preferences > Auto-Analyzer Options > Analyze All Media In Catalog Automatically). It will split your video into scene groups, even if you don't have Premier installed.
- Before deleting and reimporting the video, write down its date/time, because PSE or another program may have changed the video file's date-modified, and PSE will use that date when it reimports the file. You can change the catalog's date of the video using Edit > Adjust Date And Time.

When starting Elements 10 it goes into organiser then a message comes up saying Elements 10 has stop

I am running Windows Vista. I have just installed Elements 10. Everytime I start the programme It goes into organiser and ten seconds or so later I get a message saying " Elements 10 Organiser has stopped working" A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Any ideas anyone?

Start PSE to get to the Welcome screen.
Hold down the Ctrl + Shift keys and click Organizer. Keep holding down the keys until you see the Catalog window.
Select your catalog and click Repair. Select “repair anyway” even if PSE doesn’t find problems.
Then for good measure, click Optimize.
If repairing resolves your issue then fine else repeat the above steps, but click New to create a new catalog. If you’re able to import photos into the new catalog and the Organizer works fine, then problem can be old catalog.
Check for Task Manager and end the "ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe" file and then try.
- Try launching Organizer directly from the exe with Admin rights.

When I try to install the Premiere Elements trial, I keep getting the message, "Sorry an error has occurred. The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."

Adobe Premier Element 8 installation problem

We recently upgraded our computer from Windows Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit. In order to do this we had to reinstall the whole OS and we lost all of our applications. We have a license for Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Adobe Premiere Elements 8. We were successful at installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 8, but when we tried to install the Adobe Premiere Elements 8, it gave us the following error: "Either Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0 is not installed on the system or has corrupted. So please install Adobe Premier Elements 8.0 and then retry.". It appears as though the installer thinks it should be performing an upgade. Any ideas?

Could be a simple compatibility issue. not sure if PSE/PPE 8 is even qualified for Win 7. Try to run the installer in one of the compatibility modes.

Premier Elements 12, Inserting Photos into timeline, using transitions, inserting music

I have just recently switched from Premier Elements 8 to 12, after discovering that "expert" looked allot more like what I was used to I have been able to start a new project. However, I don't consider myself to be an "expert".
That said I have a few questions:
I used to be able to insert photos and rearrange them in the "sceneline", I do not see that feature in Premier 12 so am using the "timeline" that is there. However I cannot insert photos or move them around easily, I get my clips reducing in size. How can I insert new photos or move them?
Transitions seemed to have been reduced greatly in the availabilty of them, have they "gone out of favor", I had put a transition inbetween all of my clips in my previous projects with 8. Allot of them were merely the "wipe" feature. What is recommended with 12?
I have not gotten to adding music to this project however have noticed that there are allot of different styles available. However I want to be able to add my own music, can you give me tips on "how to do that", would I just go to the "add media" and get them off my computer and than add it to the audio line?

I am not sure why these photos should be reducing in size. It should be the same thing as in your older version, that is, as you hold down the Alt key of the computer main keyboard, with your mouse cursor drag you new file into place in the Timeline. Some people like to use the Ctrl key instead of the Alt key. I prefer the Alt key.
I prefer the Expert workspace rather than the Quick in version 12, but you can still move the images in the Quick Filmstrip spaces with a click and drag, left or right as appropriate. So, I am not sure what you ran into in the Quick workspace in that regard.

There are lots of Transitions under theTransition Tab when you are in Expert workspace, much less in the Quick workspace. This is what you should be seeing in version 12/Expert workspace/Transitions
This is what you had in version 8.0/8.0.1 under Wipes in Timeline view.

Same as before. Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets (if Expert workspace). The Quick workspace does not have that "intermediate" Project Assets. So, it is Add Media/Files and Folders/ and direct to a scene space in the Filmstrip. If you have iTunes music, it may have to be converted to .mp3 or .wav (again same as before).
However, if you are a SmartSound soundtrack user, the SmartSound feature is gone in version 12 which has it counterpart, under Audio Tab, of Music Scores and Sound Effects which end up on the Timeline as .wav files. If you have the old SmartSound soundtracks, they need to be converted to .wav and then the Premiere Elements 12 Add Media/

Elements 11 and Premier Elements 11 installation

I intend to install elements 11 and premier elements 11 as replacements for older versions. Should I install elements (with it's organizer) first ? Or does it matter?

When you install either of PSE or PRE, organizer is installed along with. You can have older versions along with the new ones. They all would work individually as well.

Adobe Premier Elements 12 Installation fail at Shared Technologies

Install continually fairls at shared technologies installation.. use of adobe support adviser did not find any issues... installed in bundle with photoshop elements and neither editing software works but the organizer works...any ideas? Oh and all installation attempts with adobe application manager fail almost instantly too! On windows 7 64 bit

That shared technologies issue has a long history with variable fixes. What works for some does not for another. It hits various versions of Premiere Elements and different computer operating systems.

What worked for me was installation disc with an external DVD burner and USB 3 computer port for Photoshop Elements 10/Premiere Elements 10 and Photoshop Elements 11/Premiere Elements 11 on Windows 8 64 bit.
You can review the different approaches. But, I suspect that the key is to keep trying. Deactivate (if you got that far), uninstall, ccleaner run through, reinstall. Just when you are about ready to give up, it installs. (very non technical view).

Repeated attempts to install from disc produced only this report:

PTony1 the summary you have posted does not really provide any actionable items. I would recommend utilizing the Adobe Support Advisor. It will automatically review your complete installation logs and attempt to identify a solution.

Can't download Premier Elements trial version

The download utility opens, I can sign on, but there is no Premeier Elements anywhere to select. There are other programs, but not this one. What gives?

Premier elements 8 installation issues

I have tried to load Premiere elements 8 on a new HP laptop with a 2.1. After speaking with ADOBE, they said that it requires a 3.0GHZ preocessor or higher.
A message keeps returning that "audio only loaded"
IS there a way to install it so the HD function is not loaded and therefore does not require a faster processor than a 2.0GHZ processor?

And even a 3.0 ghz Pentium would be pretty low end -- especially if you plan to edit hi-def video.
I'd recommend at least a dual-core 2.8 ghz with 4 gigs of RAM or, even better, a quad core processor or i7. This version of the program really does demand lots of power, RAM and hard drive space in order to work.

Premiere Elements: Convert Trial Installation to Full Product

I downloaded the premier elements trial, then successfully installed and tried it out. Then I purchased and got a serial number. Where do I enter the serial number to turn the trial into a licensed product?

GoboGorp when you open Premiere Elements 12 you will be give an option to license this software. Once you choose this option you will be given the opportunity to enter your Adobe ID and serial number.

Downloaded Premier Elements 30 minutes ago. It will not open and install on my windows 7 machine. Please advise!!!!!!!

Very disturbing download process. First click to downlload Photoshop Elements trial was blocked because there was malware attached. This happened twice.
Second attend to download PS elements worked. But the file would never open and install.
Then tried to download Premier Elements Trial. No malware, but file would not open and install.
Adobe is better than this. What is going on?????
