Premier Field Engineer Job at Microsoft
Hi All,
Please let me know the interview expectation for PFE in Microsoft.
How many Rounds of interview will be there?
What all areas they will cover in interview for Sharepoint Developer.
Please let me know all relatated information.
I suspect that asking this in a Microsoft managed and monitored forum probably isn't the best move. But then again I am a conspiracy theorist. I'd also ask if you've prepared anything at all. it's not really that different from any normal
job interview preparation.
When I was approached to interview for this role, it stated out with a telephone interview. For this phase, I'd suggest showing confident, clear soft skills and having a copy of your CV at hand. Remember that you'll be applying for a role representing
Microsoft, potentially with some very high paying and prestigious clients. You'll be expected to know how to communicate well not just being comfortable with SharePoint technology.
After this is when the face to face interviews begin. Talk about your previous roles that involves SharePoint, what you've learned. If you're a consultant, talk about difficult problems you've encountered. Make your experiences relevant

Hi,
I have looked everywhere for somewhere to apply to openreach as an engineer, as I have wanted to work for them for a very long time.
Does anyone know where to apply? I have tried the main sites (www.btgroupcareers.com, www.btplc.com/groupcareers/ and www1.hays.co.uk/jobs/openreach) but they never seem to have engineer jobs.
I also found this http://www.btplc.com/News/Articles/Showarticle.cfm?ArticleID=EE6CB55B-62BF-4AE8-8BE7-B8EA5C0650D5 which is saying that there has just been 150 permanant jobs created, I would love a crack at applying.
cheers in advance,
Krisyou've missed the boat if you wanted to start in september. if you apply now, you might be waiting a long time to here something, i believe there are a few posts to start in january next year, but you won't have a hub day till around about october/november time this year. there are so customer service roles available at the moment but they would be of little relevance to you.
what happens is basically, you do the english and maths tests and a few simple questions on the bt4me site. and then if you are successful you will be sifted through and invited to a 'hub day' which is where they recruit the apprentices, they put them through a series of tests in the morning which they are assessed on, with individual and group qualities assessed. they have a quick 10 minute informal chat with you to find abit out about you. Then if you're not successful through to the afternoon stages you will be told to go home at lunchtime. then if you are lucky enough to go into the afternoon you will have formal interviews for about an hour to an hour and a half. there are roughly 2 formal interviews per apprentice place. it is a very gurling process, but if successful, the rewards are great! -

Cisco Identity Services Engine Field Engineer ... How I need to renew ?
Two years ago I did two exams, 650-473 (now retired) and 650-474 ...
What exams I need to do to renew my "specialization" ?
I need to do 500-254 ISE and repeat 650-474?
I know my current specialization is valid until October 15th
Regards.Hi,
yes, it is exactly that. I had to do the same - repeat the 802.1X exam and do the new ISE.
Do keep track of your certification status, because I also had a few problems with the renewal process being reset after the exams were made...
Good luck.

SharePoint 2013 RTM and WIndows Server Core 2012
Hi,
I've got a simple question I couldn't find the answer on the net.
Is SharePoint 2013 officially supported (supported, not just working almost fine) by Microsoft if installed on a Windows 2012 Server Core? Does it depend on the roles of the farm?
If possible I would like to have official sources from Microsoft.
Thanks for helping :)
CyaFirst, I guess I should start with a disclaimer. I do work for Microsoft, but I do not speak for the product group and have no authority over what is/is not/will/will be supported with regards to SharePoint 2013.
My assumption however is that we'll treat it the same way we did for SharePoint 2010. It should work just fine and should be supported. The software requirements that Jason points out indicate that SharePoint requires Windows Server
2012 Standard or DataCenter. Choosing to install in core or with a UI doesn't change the fact that you've installed either Standard or DataCenter.
Also, from a support perspective, you can use remote tools in order to perform common tasks, such as checking the event log, restarting services, etc.

How do I copy whole farm in 2013 Test to 2013 Production or is this more trouble than worth?
Hi,
We are migrating from SharePoint 2010 farm to a TEST SharePoint 2013 farm as Microsoft recommend. The test farm is almost complete. The Host Url Site Collections under the main Web Application all use a Sharepoint UAT prefix style name i.e. SUAT<unique
name>. I want to be able to move everything from TEST farm to Production in one foul swoop i.e. Service Applications. How can I do this - farm-backup? Or should I update the Service Applications and restore my Host Url Site Collections without prefix with
powershell script I have or is this more trouble then it's worth.
Thanks.
John.Hi John,
Step 1 is straight forward; you are upgrading content from the 2010 to the 2013 version. I agree with the recommendation to move to a testing environment as a best practice. However, setting up your pre-production and moving the content there
will save effort.
Moving content and containers between 2013 test to 2013 production is a matter of copying and attaching databases. The trick is the farm level configurations, as they cannot be easily "copied." There are some steps to save effort, for
instance the Term Store can be exported (https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/PowerShell-for-SharePoint-a838b5d0). However you really need to plan for building two sets of service applications.
Also, make sure you plan for deploying any Apps or Features between test and production.
There are 3rd party tools to simplify this, my firm has a tool DocAve Deployment Manager. But before taking the plunge on any of this additional effort, be sure that using a pre-production farm is not best for you. This
is especially true if it will be offline until after the full migration.
Hope this helps,
Al

Sharepoint 3.0 website no longer working after Windows updates installed
We have an Intranet site that was set up in SharePoint 3.0. Over the weekend windows updates were installed, specifically KB2687442. Now my Intranet site does not work. When I try and run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard it
fails at step 9 with the following error : Failed to upgrade SharePoint Products and Technologies An exception of type System.InvalidOperationException was thrown. Additional exception information: Cannot start service SPAdmin on computer '.'. When I try and
start the Windows SharePoint services administration service manually it fails to start. When I look in the windows event log there are errors in the application log about SQL exceptionsHopefully this gets moved to the right forum - it doesn't belong here.
I've had a few customers run into this issue as well after running Windows Update. Reboot the server (admin service should start), and then try the following command:
psconfig -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -wait

Sharepoint 2010 dbo.AllDocStreams big
I have a sharepoint 2010 farm and 100 mysites.
When I do stsadm -o enumsites and get a list of all mysites the total size of all site collections is around 30GB (actual)
The used space in the database on the SQL server is in the dbo.AllDocStreams table.
I can I reduce the space in this table?
This is a problem also in another table in another content database. What seems to be the problem? Are you seeing a lot of whitespace? or are you just concerned that this table is large?
The AllDocStreams table actually stores the binary data for all documents for all site collections that live in that database. This also includes previous document versions as well. Unless all of the content in your site collections is made up
of just list items, I would expect this to be one of the biggest tables in your content database.
