Premier Pro 1.5 will not boot up in Windows 7

Just bought a new Dell XPS8100 with windows 7 home premium edition and installed
Premiere Pro 1.5. Install seemed to go fine, but when you try and run the program it hangs when loading
GPUPageCurlAEX.

Hey there,
i know it is an old Thread but i had the same Problem a few Moments ago. Don't know if it helps everyone but i just moved the 3 .AEX files from the Pluginfolder to another Place. This solves the Start-Up Problem. Rename is not an Option because Premiere finds the renamed files. But if you move them in another Folder Premiere 1.5 starts (compatibility set to XP SP2)
BUT: I dont know which effects this will cause inside the Program. I just wanted to export an existing Project again. Start-up, loading the Projectfile and loading the original clips and pictures works. So far the export seems to work too.

    Good Morning,
I have a MacBook Pro 15" and my warranty just ran out! I partitioned my harddrive into two partitions, one with Snow Leopard and the other with microsoft. This morning I turned on my Macbook Pro and it will not boot into Snow Leopard. I shut it off took out the battery, reinstalled the battery. Then I put in the Snow Leopard CD and booted up to disk utility and The Snow Leopard partion would not show up?? I do see the microsoft partion.
I also rebooted holding down the shift key and still no Snow Leopard
Could you please tell me what I can do, what keys do I press on restart any advice to get Snow leopard back.
    thank you.

Have you restarted holding down the Opt key?  That procedure should give you a gray screen with all of the partitions that exist.  Then select the SL partition for boot.  Also go to System Preferences and Startup Disk, unlock the lock and select the SL partition as the default boot partition, then relock.

  • My macbook pro running lion will not boot . it stays on the grey page with the cog spinning. I have tried all methods of booting to no avail. I have removed the bottom and taken out the battery and the ram . will this affect my applecare warranty.

my macbook pro running lion will not boot . it stays on the grey page with the cog spinning. I have tried all methods of booting to no avail. I have removed the bottom and taken out the battery and the ram . will this affect my applecare warranty. I had to try myself as I'm overseas for two months and nowhere near any sort of help .

there was a recent software update that seemed to screw HDV up.  Do some searching here over the last month or 2 and you'll find a bunch of posts and some possible solutions.
Worst case scenario, do as Shane suggests.  But might I suggest you take a look at the user tips section of the forum.  there are some great tips on how to prevent these sorts of problems by cloning your startup drive, etc.

  • 2009 Mac Pro will not boot up under Windows

I have an Early 2009 Mac Pro system (Mac Pro 4,1) and I've had this system for 3 years already and have been working under OS X with this system ever since I purchased it.
However, when I tried to boot off my Windows disk, something very interesting happens. The Mac Pro WILL NOT boot up off the Windows disk or a known working Windows partition if two monitors are connected. Upon holding down the option key and selecting the Windows partition, I will get a black screen on one monitor (the one connected via Mini Displayport) and the other screen receives no signal and will enter standby and the system is halted. It does not respond to keystrokes, there is no hard drive activity, no measured power increase on the UPS, no apparent network activity, nothing. The only way to exit this scenario (from what I can tell) is to power off the machine, disconnect the display on DVI, power on the machine again, select the Windows partition wait for the system to reach the login window and reconnect the DVI monitor (at which time Windows recognizes it immediately and the system works fine again).
My question to the community is, does anybody know why this is happening and is there a known fix for this? Quite frankly, having to disconnect a monitor just to restart is very tedious and frustrating.
I have two Samsung P2350 monitors attached to an ATI Radeon HD 4870 (512MB, from Apple). One is monitor is connected via directly DVI and the other is using a Mini Displayport to DVI adapter. Both monitors work fine under OS X with no issue. At first, I thought that this may be a driver issue on the Windows side and after installing all the latest updates and drivers the issue is still apparent. From what I can tell, this doesn't seem like a software issue but rather a firmware or EFI issue as this happens before Windows even loads.
If anyone knows of a fix or what to do in this situation, or if you are also having this issue, I would love to hear your input!
    Thank you!
For the record, I am running all the latest software builds on the OS X side (10.7.4, not that it would really matter at this point). I have also disconnected all unnecessary equipment in a trial and error scenario but the results are still the same.
The system passes all ASD testing.
The full specification of the computer and all connected equipment are as follows:
    2009 Mac Pro (4,1) 8-Core
    2x Intel Xeon Nehalem 2.66GHz Quad-Core CPUs
    16GB DDR3 ECC 1066MHz RAM (Apple Branded)
Two OWC 120GB SSDs (One for OS X, the other for Windows 7 x64) - These are in place of my optical drives.
4x 2TB WD Black Hard drives for storage.
Two Samsung P2350 Monitors connected via DVI. (One using a Mini Displayport to DVI adapter).

In Windows I am using the latest (12.4) Catalyst Software Suite, 64 bit of course, downloaded directly from AMD's site after installing the drivers from Boot Camp.
As for installing Windows I used an original (not burned) installation media (Disk is in a pristine condition). And yes, Windows is fine, the problem just seems to be getting the system to boot up Windows with that second monitor. However if the "problem monitor" is disconnected the system boots fine 100% of the time and connecting it later after booting the system will still operate properly.
For the sake of arguement I swapped monitor cables and connected the "second" monitor to the mini displayport adapter to verify that it wasn't a cabling issue and I'm still yielding the same issues.
As for GPU testing, I've played games (Crysis, Grand Theft Auto IV, Battlefield 3, etc.) and I've had no issues with the card or stability.
You would think that Apple would try to find a fix for this, especially considering the caliber of this machine.

  • Mac Pro Early 2008 will not boot off Win7 Install DVD

    Hello,
I am hoping someone out there will have encountered something similar and have some suggestions or ideas, because at this point I can't think of anything else to try.
I have a 2.8 Ghz 8-core Mac Pro (Early 2008) with an Nvidia 8800GT Graphics card. I am running OS 10.6.2, fully patched and updated.
I am attempting to install Windows 7 Ultimate via Boot Camp, and am encountering a rather odd problem.
Once I have launched Boot Camp Assistant it allows me to partition the drive and does so correctly, but when it attempts to reboot off the Windows 7 installation DVD, I encounter a blank grey-white screen similar to that which you normally get on startup but without the Apple logo. This continues for some time (it seems to vary), and then the screen goes dark and the monitor says it is receiving no signal. The fans on the Mac Pro go for a while, then it goes to sleep. I've tried leaving it for a couple hours, no dice.
I've tried both the 32-bit and 64-bit Windows install disks. I had the release candidate for Windows 7 installed previously, and it worked perfectly. I have since tried that same install DVD that I used to install the release candidate, and it encounters the exact same issue. Booting up off the Snow Leopard Install DVD works fine.
I tried doing a clean install of Snow Leopard on a spare drive, booting off that, and then starting from square 1 using Boot Camp Assistant to re-partition that same drive. Same problem. No matter what I do or try, my Mac Pro does not want to boot off this install disc. I have yet to try the disc in another machine to see if it works there, and I will as soon as I can, but the fact that the RC disc worked a few months back and now will not seems to rule out the boot discs as defective. I've also tried both my internal optical drives with no change, and no other discs have any issues.
I've already spent an hour and a half talking to Apple Technical Support, and they seemed stumped, so I'm hoping someone will have a notion. If not, I understand and appreciate you taking the time to read this- I have no idea at this point, and I'm generally a pretty knowledgeable user.
    - Andrew

    Thank you for your reply,
Pull all the drives you have other than the one that you will install Windows 7 to.
I think I will try this next.
Don't put Windows 7 on the same drive as OS X, give it its own.
That was initially what I started out doing.
And you don't even need Boot Camp Assistant.
True, but it's what Apple suggests using.
Might also want to try moving the monitor cable to the other card port.
Hmm, I think I'll try that.
Any other PCI cards or devices attached or installed should also be questioned or disconnected.
    I've disconnected everything I could.
Always a good idea to start fresh which I assume you are doing (not trying to upgrade over RC etc).
Yes, the drive was empty to start with.
Honestly it seems like the Mac Pro is generally refusing to boot from any Windows disc. Things I've tried since my initial post:
    - Loaded Windows 7 Install disc into my room mate's windows PC... loaded up fine, got to install screen
    - Tried his OEM copy of Windows Vista 32-bit, same issue
At this point it seems like maybe some kind of firmware issue or some kind or graphics driver issue, but I'm pretty much grasping at straws at this point. It doesn't seem like it's even getting to the point where hard drives or anything matters.
It does recognize that I have a Windows 7 install disc inserted when I use the boot selector/startup disk chooser.
Thanks for the ideas, I'll try those out and see if any of them help,
    -Andrew

  • Macbook pro running, lion will not boot

My mac book, pro running lion will not complete the start up/boot have tried single user boot, and command v any ideas

I had the same problem... I was downloading the latest update (whatever it was for, I forget at this point)...
I was really frustrated because I have never had to troubleshoot my MacBook Pro (early 2008 or whatever was before the black bevel/chicklet keyboard), plus I was running Lion, so I did not know how to do any recovery.
Cmd + R worked like a charm. Repaired my disk, repaired my permissions, then reinstalled (or restored) Lion... now my computer is actually running better than before!
The Disk Repair feature in Lion works magic!

If you look to the right there are so many examples of the same symptoms - just read them, study them, and see if the solutions about 'Safe Mode' 'Recovery Mode' 'Disk Repair' can solve the issue. After that do report back

  • Macbook Pro 10.6 will not boot

Last night I had a kernel panic. When the system tried restarting it stuck on the grey/blue screen with the Apple logo and spinning wheel. I have tried booting in safe mode: same screen. I have booted with my OSX install disk and run a disk repair, which said the volume was fine. I ran a permissions repair which had errors, but they were the ones that Apple says you can ignore. From here I could not swich to my MacHD drive for start up (bless problem?)I have run a hardware test with my OSX install disk and it says there are no problems with any hardware. I cannot reinstall OSX with disk onto my hardrive as it finds a problem. I cannot erase my harddrive because it now will not unmount. Hoping there is a fix to all of this?? I feel like I have done everything that I have found in the forums with others' related problems. If anyone has ideas, please help. I am checking this forum using my phone and an HP (yikes!)

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

  • Adobe Premier Pro 2014.1 will not download

I have 4 identical MacPros. RAM, processors, video cards are all identical.
When I ran the update from the Creative Cloud app, all computers updated to 2014.1, except 1 machine. it still had the previous version of Premier Pro.
Thinking that it may be an ID, or preference thing, I completely uninstalled all apps using the Creative Cloud app, and then ran AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool to find any left overs.
I restarted the machine, then reinstalled Creative Cloud app, and then used it to download Premier Pro, and it still downloaded the previous version!
I then completely wiped the machine, did a clean install of the OS, Downloaded an installed CC app, then downloaded Premier Pro, and again it downloaded the previous version!!
I know there is probably a very simple answer to this problem I'm having, I hope. I need all 4 machines running the same flavor of Premier Pro. Any Ideas?

    Hi Skwent,
Please try to rename AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat to AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat-old from the below mentioned location.
    Location: <Startup Disk>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat
Please revert in case the problem still persists.

  • Lenovo G780 will not boot up after windows update

My friend's G780 will no longer boot up after installing a windows update, one for which she cant remember, and ever since she updated it, the lenovo boot screen will appear, then turns black, and stays black. It will, occasionally, give her the option to go to the "windows did not boot properly" screen, giving her options to refresh the pc, restore the pc, advanced options, etc.
Changing boot priorities, using "repair" did not work, and neither did trying to find a system image.
She is unsure what to do, and I am as well.
    Any recomendations?

    hi connorjacob,
    Thanks for Posting!
If you can try and get the screen again where it gave you options like Refresh PC,  Restore the PC and Advanced option.
Choose Advanced option to pull up   a new page with options
With the options, You can try:
Try Selecting System Restore and see if you can find a restore point prior to to insalling the said updates.
Select Windows Start up Settings and Find two options that can help
                  - Boot to Safe Mode (See if the computer boots in safe mode)
                  - Last Known good configuration
    Let me know your findings
    Hope this helps
    Cheers!

  • Late 2013 Macbook Pro Retina 15' will not boot an external disk from a Mid-2012 MAcbook Pro. What should I do?

In order to simplify moving all my files from the previous mid-2012 macbook pro 15' when moving to my new late-2013 macbook pro, i superdup-ed the full hard-disk to an external ssd. Unfortunatelly the new mac resuses to boot from this external disk (i get the grey disk with a line over it). The external disk works just fine so if I boot the new mac from its internal SSD I can read/write the external disk without problems.
Old OS X is 10.9 as is the OS on the new mac.
What I need to do is to boot the new mac from the external ssd, use the same superduper to copy the external content onto the internal ssd.
How can I solve this issue?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If you made a backup of your files with SuperDuper, use Migration Assistant (in /Applications/Utilities) to transfer your files from the external drive > http://pondini.org/OSX/MigrateLion.html It will create a new user account with the transferred files, so you may want to merge both user accounts > https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-5472
The Late 2013 MacBook Pro uses a special OS X Mavericks version which makes OS X compatible with it, and older OS X versions do not work with it. That's the reason why you cannot start up from the external drive created from the Mid 2012 MacBook Pro

  • Macbook pro (snow leopard) will not boot after software update

I helped my mom buy a Macbook Pro for herself for Christmas. Today, I connected it to her old eMac and used the migration assistant to transfer files over. It was unable to estimate migration time on the only user (after 45 minutes) so I didn't migrate the user. Then I tried to pair her macbook to her new bluetooth keyboard, but no magic happened, so I tried to use the bluetooth setup assistant, which crashed. So I ran a software update, hoping that this would fix whatever the bluetooth problem is. Despite having updated on the 23rd, there were 4 updates. None seemed applicable but I installed them anyway. Now the computer won't boot at all.
Software update said that I had to restart for the updates to take effect, so I restarted. The harddrive went whirrrrrr and the grey screen with the apple logo and the spinning circle displayed. Then the harddrive stopped going whirrrr and 10 minutes later, I started looking on the support site for what to do. I found this:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10564149&#10564149
Per the instructions in the last post, I fscked the drive (although -f, in accordance with the fsck help). This found no problems. The next suggestion was to boot from the OSX install disk. Only one problem-- there was a disk in the disk drive when the problem occurred and the disk eject button apparently only works while in the gui. I can't install from disk if I can't get the existing disk out of the drive.
So, any other ideas on what I can do to get this machine to boot?

    Hi Jen:
Since it's new, you're entitled to 90 days of phone support (3 years if you buy AppleCare). It sounds to me like you may have some hardware issue(s) going on - you should not have the sorts of issues you're having with a new Mac. Apple will probably be much better and faster about getting you fixed than this board may be able to if that is the case.
