Premier Pro CC Crashing Frequently
Hello, I am having an issue in Premear Pro Creative Cloud, the software has become extreamly unstable and is cashing too frequently to be usable.
I am editing a project cosnisting mainly of R3D files in a 1080p R3D sequence. The project files are all stored on an external Laci Rugged connected to the machean vai USB3.0. The project file is on the desktop of the machean. I am editing on a Mac book Air with 4Gb memory and a 1.8Ghz i5 processor, however I ahve tried moving the project to two additional macheans (One other Mac and one PC) and had no change in the issue. One of these computers was also on a differant creative cloud subsription.
The error message I receve is the standard "Sorry, a serious error has occured that require Adoby Premear pro to shut down..." no further details are provided.
However when the program crashes from playing a clip from the bins I do receve an additional error message (this one with the yellow alert icon instead on the premear pro logo) that reads.
"Premear Pro has incountered an error."
followed by
[/sirreel64/releases/2013.02/shared/adobe/MediaCore/Backend/Make/Mac/../../Src/Clip/AudioC lip
.cpp-959]
I have no idea what that file extension is and the file does not exist on this computer, the same error message poped up on the other computers, the file did not exist on them either.
The program crashes frequently when the following actions are taken.
A subclip is played from the bin
More than one clip in the timeline is selected
More than one subclip is dragged from the bins to the timeline
The program also crashes less frequently when non of these actions are taken, seemingly at randome.
I have also tried editing the project from a differant HDD via thunderbolt and had no change.
Any and all help is greatly appreseated, on the clock for this project.
Please start a new thread, bouzaidiy, providing as much information as possible about your computer, the exact version of Premiere you have, your project/sequence(s)/content, and what you're doing when Premiere crashes. Also include crash reports and error messages. This page recommends other good data to provide: FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?
But first, try searching the forum for something specific, such as keywords in the error message (if it's not just the generic "Premiere Pro has encountered an error and must close), or the "faulting module" cited in the crash log.

Hello,
Thanks for the help.
#3 - I realy consider it as the final solution
#2 - I already did it - didn't help
Regarding #1 - I don't understand what exactly to delete. The UserFolder>Documents>Adobe>Premiere Pro>4.0 is my working folder of Premier Pro where I'm saving all my current medias and project.
Shall I work with a different folder instead?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/morbidxgrace/screenshot2.jpgI've killed all the processes you have told me too.
I've taken off the side of my PC and run a fan to hopefully help cool it down - With increasing airflow, I think I probably need a bigger case and more fans, this PC is a mixture of hardware from 3 that have been cannibalised. (Hence why the power supply isn't very good)
I'm sorry I'm not very computer literate, and I'm a student desperately trying to do her work. My PC isn't a notebook, its a desktop PC.
I'm not sure if there are any settings in the BIOS to help increase fan speed?
I'm really sorry, but what is a SATA drive?
Thanks so much for the help so far! It's still not working though :(
I'm going to wait a bit to see if the fan helps lower the temperature enough that its ok. -

Premiere Pro CS3 Crashing Frequently -
Hi Everyone
PP is starting to crash every 5 minutes and it is giving us major headaches.
When we first started using CS3 it was fine but after using it a while it started crashing, we save frequently to avoid losing work but now it crashes more frequently and takes times to load. It is making it very hard to complete the project as we are wasting too much time because of the crashes.
Information:
We are putting together 8 x 30 min and one 2 hour (sports shows). We are using 26 hours of DV footage in SD. Project settings PAL DV.
Technical hardware:
Intel Dual Core 2 gz
Ram 3gb
Nvidia 256 graphics card with latest drivers.
Vista 32 bit with latest updates
Premeire Pro CS3 with all latest updates.
All Project files are stored on a external hard drive. Project file is now 30 mb.
Premiere Pro doesn't give us any error message when it crashes. Just starts going slow, then doesn't respond, then a few seconds later ' Premiere Pro has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows is looking for a solution'. it then just hangs for a few mintues then closes down with no further information. Windows doesn't come up with a solution either. All other software on the computer is stable.
This doesn't occur on a particular sequence, or when we are using footage from a particular tape etc (as far as we can see). Just seems to be quite random. We can't render or export a sequence because Premiere crashes during the process. As you can imagine on a project this big we are using many nested sequences.
We have tried renaming the project which didn't work but want to try some other suggestions.
I am not sure what information would be useful to help identify this problem. If you need any further information please let us know.
We would appreciate any help or suggestions you can give us.
Regards, CarlDear everyone,
We are having just the same problem for past month:
- we tried almost everything: tried premier pro 1.5, and CS3.
- we reinstalled windowsXP for about 10 times, so now we are using absolutely clean system that is installed on new hard drive (there's only windows on it, premier and necessary drivers )
- we are using fast computer
- we were working with uncompressed video and now we trasnformed it into DV,
Still, nothing really hepled us and it crashes all the time.
anyway, if anybody knows any solutions to frequent crashes of premier pro (1.5 or CS3), please help!
project size now about 260 mb
computer:
motherboard - asus P5B,
RAM - corsar ddr2 - 4 GB
processor - core 2 duo 6600 (2*2.4)
video editing card - deckLink extreme
2 raids (each about 2 TB)
Now, even autosave stopped working at all, and pretty often when trying to save the project premier crashes.
Does anyone know how to decrease the size of the project? but we can't break it apart at the moment because we are need occasionally all the sequences that are in the project now...
We would be thankful for any help...

Premier Pro CS6 crashing at Quit
Premier Pro CS6 has begun crashing at Quit. I've run Disk Warrier and MacKeeper. I've run Disk Utility several times. Someone suggested that I trash PP preferences and other PP associated files. I'm not sure I can find all such files. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks,
RobertI am also expierencing frequent crashes when premiere quits.

Premier Pro CS4 crashes on launch
When I start Premier Pro I get the dialog box with New or Open existing project.
When I select New the dialog box disappears and the program hangs.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times including removing use folders.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should start looking to diagnose the problem?
TIAThanks for the very comprehensive answer .
I can now give my system spec - summary first then the details as they're rather long.
Gigabyte P55-UD5 motherboard; i5 CPU, 4Gb RAM; 3HDD + 1 SSD.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 loaded on one HDD and on the SSD.
Premier Pro worked OK running on the HDD but not after installing SSD.
Now, even when I disconnect the SSD, Premier Pro doesn't run.
This probably means it's not the SSD as it still doesn't work when it's powered down.
I get the option to "create new" and "open existing"...
If I "open existing" I can search for projects (except I don't have any)
If I "create new", then PP crashes.
I have all the latest Win 7 patches and the latest nVidia card drivers.
Running 1024x768 at 32 bit colour.
I've also run the routines suggested by John T Smith (thanks very much John)
So far no difference.
Is there a logging routine that can be enabled to see what's crashing at the point of failure?

Why does Premier Pro CC crash so often?
I just bought a kickass PC to edit a documentary and Premier Pro CC keeps crashing at least once a day. Now my computer has crashed all together!
My PC configuration:
16 GB RAM
2 TB hard disk
3.9 GH processor
2GB Video Ram (NVIDIA)
Windows 8
Adobe's website that one needs only 8GB RAM to run Premier Pro CC. My PC has much more power and memory than they are specifying.
Can anybody weigh in on this problem?I also want to add that I use this PC only for editing. My editor runs just two applications on this PC. Premier Pro CC and Microsoft word.

Hi,
I have Premier Pro CC7.0. It crashes every. single. time. whenever I try to export my short film. It renders the audio and when it gets to the encoding process it reaches 1%, pauses for a few seconds, then the "Sorry, a serious error has ocurred that requires Adobe Premier Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project." dialogue box pops up. Two days ago I updated all my Adobe programs thinking it would solve the problem.
I have a mid-2010 Macbook Pro. The rest of my computer's details:

Thanks.Following up on my own question, I found that creating an Alias in Apple-land isn't nearly as simple nor robust as using a good old-fashioned symlink. I moved the Adobe alias out of the way, symlinked to the network drive, and BANG! Everything worked. Proving yet again that the less one knows about OSX (for example, the existence of the alias feature), probably the better. Surprising, though, that the Premiere Pro CC app cannot deal with such.

i am a gamer on youtube and i use my all the time i recently did a full system upgrade exceot the ram and hardrive it working fine but then the harddrive became faulty and premier pro cc allways crashed when i opened it so i put a new 120gb ssd in installed
a new version of windows did all the driver updates and it worked fine untill i closed premier pro now im back to it crashes every time i open it and it crashes my pc i allways get this error message DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (wdf01000.sys)
could someone please help because i really need my pc working again and i hate using my macThanks.
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1)
This indicates that a kernel-mode driver attempted to access pageable memory at a process IRQL that was too high.
A driver tried to access an address that is pageable (or that is completely invalid) while the IRQL was too high. This bug check is usually caused by drivers that have used improper addresses.

1. Remove and replace avast! with Windows 8's built-in Windows Defender for temporary troubleshooting purposes as it's likely causing conflicts:
avast! removal -
http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
Windows Defender (how to turn on after removal)
A.
Navigate toControl Panel
(with icons). You can do this by hittingStart
> Search > Control Panel.
Once in Control Panel,
change the drop-down fromCategory
to
Large
and/or Small icons.
B.
Among the list of icons, find and click
Action Center.
C.
Assuming the removal of your prior antivirus software went properly, you will notice for both
Spyware and unwated software protection (important) and
Virus protection (important), it'll have a button labeled Turn on now. Click this button (it doesn't matter which, as Windows Defender serves as
both in Windows 8/8.1).
2. I am curious in regards to whether or not your Avstream drivers are causing a problem, as they are rather old:

Premier Pro CS3 crashes with Canon 7D HD files
I am just putting together a promo for a client, shot in HD on my Canon 7D. Everything went fine until 3 minutes into the project when Premier Pro CS3 refuses to render more than 1:30 minutes. (I already changed preferences to "Optimize rendering for Memory") Also the preview window is blanced out White and Black further down the project time line (even after changing back to:"Optimize rendering for Performance". Also now Premier starts crashing everytime I add a sound track. It looks as if the Canon 7D .mov files are too unwieldy for my new 12GB iMac 2,8 GHz Intel Core i7 (OSX 10.6.3).
I need some urgent help please, as my job in in jeopardy.
Should I convert my canon .mov files into H.264 first or what is the best way to work with these files?(using MPEG Streamclip)
Thanks very much for your help.I am probably too late, but if you have Apple Pro Res 422 Codec available in MPEG Streamclip you should transcode your HD files to that and then bring it into Premiere. They will be easier to work with that way.
Good Luck! -
Premier Pro CC crashes on Mavericks after relocating user profile
Slowly but surely my OSX environment is being extricated from the absolute lunacy that every file used by any application had to reside on the machine's root drive. Adobe Premiere Pro, for example, created a $USER/Documents/Adobe subdirectory where it stored my profile information. I attempted to move that profile information to a network drive and to use an alias to point $USER/Documents/Adobe at $NETWORK_DRIVE/Adobe. Now Adobe Premiere Pro CC crashes on startup. I have attempted to trash my preference (deleting the 7.0 subfolder of the Adobe/Premiere Pro folder), but that did not help. Is it really true that in 2014, 30 years after folks had worked out symlinks and NFS, that Adobe cannot honor these tried and true concepts?
Following up on my own question, I found that creating an Alias in Apple-land isn't nearly as simple nor robust as using a good old-fashioned symlink. My Macbook Pro is crashing frequently
I cannot pinpoint exactly what triggered this, I suspect it was after I upgraded to Mavericks, but my early 2011 MBP 15' has been very slow to start and crashes very frequently, without apparent reason. This is the last crash error report. Anyone has any idea of what can be happening? Thank you very much!

I have the trial version of Premiere Pro and I have been using it for about a week with no problems but today I was working and it gave me an error message that said that it had to shut down. After it shut down I reopened it and it told me to resave it which I did but when I reopened the project it gave me the same message and crashed again. I've tried to uninstall it and reinstall it and that didn't work. I edit every day and I need this to work. I am editing on a imac late 2013 running OS X Yosemite with 8GB of RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2048 MB Graphics.
