For me, Premiere consistently crashes whenever I open the titler and my camera is connected and turned on. Turn the camera off, I'm fine. Not sure why, but at least it's 100% consistent (for me anyway).

Premier pro crashing again and again

I am using 4k footages to edit in premiere pro CC 2014. Our footages frame size are of 3840x2160 and some of footages are 4096x2160. frame rates are 29.97, also as of now we are editing on 29.97, snap shot of sequence settings attached herewith for reference, but need output on 25fps. It would be a major help if you can help us regarding settings for 4k footage. as premiere pro CC 2014 getting crash again and again.

  • Premier pro crashes on startup every time

Premier Pro CC 2014 crashes on startup every time. Operating system is OSX Yosemite 10.10. However, the problem begane with previous OS versions and the update did not fix the issue. CC is up to date as version 8.1.0. I've verified and repaired my startup disk as well and there are no issues with my machine. I am using:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)
    2.4 GHz Intel Core i7
    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
I have a school project coming up and really need my CC to be working.
Thank you so much for the help,
    William Durland

The first thing I suggest is renaming three Premiere Pro folders at the following paths:
    /Users/<username>/Documents/Adobe
    /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe
    /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Adobe

  • Premier pro crashing?

    Hi
I have the latest version of premiere pro running on OSX 10.9.4 on a imac with all the bells and whistles, however! It keeps crashing and never saves, I keep loosing work. If it don't save the whole project by "Save As" everything will be lost. Clt Save doesn't do anything. The crash is so bad it reverts back every time.
Autosave has helped recover some work but its still a huge problem for me. Its even effecting Media encoder now, it crashes and is slow to open.
Its become a real problem. Im thinking the cause is magic bullet and now magic bullet universe. Does anyone have an opinion on this?
I have been onto Adobe support but it has not been resolved.
My system is a good one and well up to the job. Im getting it checked by a technician tomorrow but I am sure its not the system.
Any help or ides would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Philip

    Hi Philip,
    Try the following:
Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
    Update any GPU drivers
    Trash preferences
Ensure Adobe preference files are set to read/write
    Delete media cache
    Remove plug-ins
If you have AMD GPUs, make sure CUDA is not installed
    Repair permissions
In Sequence Settings > Video Previews, change the codec to one that matches your footage
    Disconnect any third party hardware
If you have a CUDA GPU, ensure that the Mercury Playback Engine is set to CUDA, not OpenCL
    Disable App Nap
    Update to OS X 10.9.5
    Reboot
Report back if anything here worked for you.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Premier Pro CC 2014 crashing, wasting enormous time, not able to load files into previous rev - this is crazy!!!

    SOMEONE AT ADOBE PLEASE HELP!!!
I have had no problems editing Red Epic 4K R3D files in the past revisions of Premier CC but ever since creative cloud updated me to the latest Premier CC 2014 (8.0.1) I cant get any serious work done as my system is crashing on startup, or after a few minutes of work, freezing on playback at times, giving me artifacts at times and is just a miserable and frustrating experience I can get NOTHING done with!!!
How could Adobe release a piece of so called professional software like this with these now obvious MAJOR issues so many of us are experiencing, wasting massive time and money for all of its users and how can I get this running properly and stable as our livelihoods depend on this software to work and thats what we pay Adobe for ???
I am currently working on :
    Mac OSX 10.9.3
    Mac Pro 5,1 Tower
Nvidia GTX 660 2GB Graphics card
    Cuda Drivers 6.0.37
I use a SSD swap drive and boot drive of 1/2 TB
I have a 6TB internal Raid for all my media files
I am editing 4K Red R3D files in a 4K timeline that I had no problem editing in previous version of Premier CC ???
If Adobe would have thought before changing the file compatibility with the new Premier Pro CC 2014 where you cant load a file updated to this new version back into Premier Pro CC previous revision or included some kind of import / export to and from previous versions I think we would all at least be operational again right now until Adobe can fix its errors in this new revision but they obviously didn't care to think about compatibility, safeguards for users and just adding more new features with a new file format in a buggy piece of software?
I have wasted days now on trying to solve these problems following other users in this forums suggestions including the following listed below:
    • Reinstalled my OS downgrading to 10.9.3 originally thinking it was something OS related since I updated to 10.9.4 around the same time this all started happening
    • Uninstalled / reinstalled Premier Pro CC 2014
    • I have updated my permissions to read/write on my main user account on the Adobe Library files
    • I have updated my permission to read/write on my main user account on my overall drive
    • I have reverted my CUDA drivers back one revision as these were recently updated as well
I AM TIRED AND FRUSTRATED WITH ALL OF THIS NONSENSE WHEN I JUST NEED TO EDIT SO CAN SOMEONE AT ADOBE PLEASE SHED SOME LIGHT ON ALL OF THIS AND GET ME BACK TO A PLACE WHERE I CAN USE THE SOFTWARE I PAY FOR AND NEED TO BE ABLE TO WORK WITH TO KEEP MY BUSINESS OPERATING AND COMPLETE THE WORK MY CLIENTS ARE WAITING FOR ???
Originally I was very impressed with Adobe CC and Premier CC once I started to work with it after many years of abandoning the use of Premier as a Final Cut Pro 7 user but later decided to try Adobe again when Apple abandoned its pro base with the original Final Cut X. I also did not think this new cloud software model was all that bad over the old boxed method. This was all also before the big Final Cut Pro X update in December 2013/early 2014 where Apple appears to be back to support the real Pros but I have stuck with Adobe CC and Premier CC and been happy since that time. Now I am wondering if this was wise as I have had a number of other issues with other CC Apps, updates, etc and this is starting to feel like Creative Cloud is becoming a big, sloppy, buggy mess to me?

    Also...
Add to right click menu of timelines an entry for "go to next keyframe" and "go to last keyframe" a la After Effects, we should also be able to assign a kb shortcut to this.
There are buttons on either side of the create keyframe button to advance forward or backward in the effects control panel or timeline.
You can also advance forward or backward in the effects control window by holding shift while dragging the playhead.
Allow copy/paste of selection of audio/video effects, not just one at a time. Sure we can copy/paste attributes but since we can also copy/paste effects it would only make sense to allow to copy/paste a selection of effects.
I guess I don't get this one. If I have 5 effects on a clip, I can simply command-click on the ones I want to copy over to the other clip.

  • Premier Pro CC 7.2.2 crashes on launch in Windows 7, probably self inflicted problem...

I installed PPCC 7.2.2 because I wanted to test the content analyzer to text functionality.
I started the software, loaded a file, and started the analyzer.  It then passed this over to Media Encoder as expected and the process chugged along merrily for about 30 minutes.  At which point I got bored and decide to stop the process and use a much smaller file to test with.
So, despite years of experience and knowing better I tried stopping the process, and when it wouldn't end I used the Windows Task Manager to kill the process in Media Encoder.
Now when I try to start Premier Pro CC 7.2.2 it crashes on launch and gives me the very descriptive message "Adope Premier Pro CC has stopped working."
My initial attempt to fix this was to uninstall PPCC 7.2.2 and reinstall it.  That didn't help.
Based on 38+ years of programming experience I suspect there is a corrupted temp file floating around that PPCC is finding when it launches.  So, I looked every place I could think of for temp files and/or crash dumps and deleted them all.
All the "crash on launch" discussions I have found so far refer to MAC systems, so I'm not sure where to look to repair the damage.
Anyone have any ideas on "the most likely" cause of the problem and what I need to clean up to fix it?
    Thanks, Bobw

I uninstalled Quicktime, rebooted 3 times to clear the Windows registry cache, reinstalled Quicktime, rebooted, then tried running PMPRCC 7.2.2.
I got the same non-descript error.  So, I checked the Resource Monitor it it showed only PMPRCC7.2.2 hung.  I checked the wait chain and it looks like this:
    Adobe Premier Pro.exe (PIC:7996) Thread: 1452
                    Adobe Premier Pro.exe (PIC:7996) Thread: 4152
    Adobe Premier Pro.exe (PIC:7996) Thread: 5672

    Adobe Premier Pro.exe (PIC:7996) Thread: 1452
                    Adobe Premier Pro.exe (PIC:7996) Thread: 4152
I grabbed screen shots of all that, and also grabbed the lists of "Associated Handles" and "Associated Modules."   I'm going to review the list of handles to see if there I can identify a file that has a date/time stamp near the time the problems start.   Let me know if you want me to post either or both lists.

  • Premier Pro CC and Media Encoder crashing on long file export.

Please forgive the length of this inquiry. But it is complicated and has a lot of variables.
I have an hour long mixed format timeline both Red 3K footage and Black Magic ProRes 1080P footage that I want to make a DVD from and it takes forever and crashes half way through. I have tried doing it every way possible and the only way I was able to get even a partial export was using the "MPEG 2 DVD" export option in Premier CC. It goes fast at first telling me it will take about 2 hours but even though it starts quickly doing about 15 fps it slows down to less than 1 fps and finally just stops and crashes my Cuda Core enabled Macbook Pro Laptop.
I really don't know who to ask about this since there are so many different variables. I never had a problem like this on my MBP with PP6 on a 4K timeline exporting to DVD or Blue Ray or to H-264 or Even Prores. But I wasn't mixing formats either. But on this project the first 20-30 minutes of footage goes through fine in a couple of hours but something seems to be bogging down the system on longer projects. My work around was to break the project up into multiple exports and combining them on the DVD timeline but I can't do this on every project. I thought maybe it was a corrupted clip somewhere in the timeline but when I broke the timeline up into several parts I had no problems.
I did notice a dramatic variance in the time it took to export footage based on the sequence settings. A one minute timeline comprised Red 3K footage and ProRes 1080P footage Here are some sample export results:
From a Red raw 3K timeline 2880x1620  with 1080P Prores footage upscaled 150%)
    to .m2v Mpeg 2 720x480 format    1:48 Minutes ***
    to .mov  Prores 422HQ  1080P                         22 Minutes
    to .mov H.264  1080P                    22 Minutes
    to .m2v Mpeg 2 1080P                                                22 Minutes
From a 1080P timeline Prores footage at 100%  (Red footage downscaled to 67%)
    to .m2v Mpeg 2 720x480 format                         13 Minutes
    to .mov  Prores 422HQ 1080P                             13 Minutes
    to .mov H.264  1080P                                                             14 Minutes
    to .m2v Mpeg 2 1080P                                                            14 Minutes
Since I am going to DVD,  I chose the fastest option  Red to m2v Mpeg 2 720x480 format which only took 1:48 per minute. Why? I have no idea. Maybe someone here knows the answer. But again these numbers are for a ONE MINUTE clip when I tried to convert the whole hour timeline to  the 720x480.m2v DVD File the Red timeline froze my computer after several hours even though I had set sleep mode to “Never” and turned the display off manually and I had to convert it in multiple chunks. In 20-30 minute chunks it did go fast about 1:48 per minute like the test indicated. But I would like to be able to convert the whole hour and not to have to try to stitch the clips together in my DVD authoring program.
I don’t want to have to avoid using multiple formats on the same timeline or waste time transcoding everything to the same format.
Can anyone give me any suggestions as to why the computer is crashing or bogging down in long exports and what timeline settings I should be using?
I have plenty of room on my Scratch Disk and 8 Gig of RAM and according to my Activity Monitor during the export process  have about 800 Meg of System Memory during export but the CPU Usage is 98% and in my Activity Monitor I see under “Process Name” ImporterRedServer flashing up at the top of the list about every second during export.
Why .720x480 mpeg DVD setting is so much faster than all the other export codecs?
And if there are any other settings I can use to get higher speed exports in HD? 14x1 seems a little slow especially since every time it crashes I have to start over.

    Hi,
Since a long time I did not encounter the crash of Media encoder with
    long file export.
But I take care of a lot of details before the export :
    - clean up Media cache and Media Cache Files within PP CS6 and/or CC,
    - delete all render files with Preview Files,
    - rendering of sequences until the rendering is completed,
    - PP CS6 and/or Pp CC opened during export to AME and/or Encore CS6,
I guessed to leave Adobe but this company remains the last with a
serious authoring software (Encore CS 6).
    I tested :
    - Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro X, both are very good software but
no really authoring software for these video editing softs.
Th only way is to "flood" Adobe with "bug reports" and "wish forms"
which are not very easy to use.
And also to call the Adobe support day by day until they send they
    escalate the bug.

Why do you have the nVidia CUDA drivers installed on your nMP?  It doesn't have any CUDA hardware on it.  That's what Pr is tripping over.
Remove CUDA.  Kill it with fire.  Nuke it from orbit.
    Then try again.

  • Adobe Premier Pro cc is crashing on my Mac Pro

I am using Premier Pro CC on my new Mac Pro desktop. It is powerful but the program is crashing frequently. I have reinstalled the program and rebooted the computer. What could be the problem? Thank you.

I was suspicious that merging the audio and video files (whose bit rates did not match) may have been the culprit. So, I batch converted all of the .WAV audio from my Tascam DR-05, to bit rate matched .AIF files. With these new audio files, I remerged the audio and video files. Thus far, the crashing has gone away.
Hope this helps the many others facing this Mac PP CS6 crashing issue.
