Premiere 10 crashes during pan & zoom

Premiere Elements 10 crashes and shuts down if I use the pan & zoom tool for 5 to 10 pictures.
Please help me figure out what I am doing wrong.
Do I need to re-install the software?
Thanks

Thanks
I was afraid I might have to do a reinstall.
I basically do what you suggested as far as setting up my pictures in
Photoshop elements. Except I am using the MAC version.
I am new to both MACs and Photoshop.  I will play around with the initial
settings to serif I can get the program running without crashing.
Thanks for your help.

  • Pan & Zoom with Clip

I have great success with the Premiere Elements 10 pan & zoom feature in the preview mode.  But when I hit 'done' it invariably crashes.  I'm obviously doing something wrong.  Any help will be appreciated.  Thanks.

Not sure I got Gspot to do a complete analysis.

  • CS4 crashes using Cineform Zoom and Pan, Media Encoder crashes

I am glad I didn't go ahead and purchase the CS4 Production Suite.  Downladed the trial with the following results:
         1.  Capture would not recognize my Canon HV20...what happened to the Cineform capture presets from CS3? I think I tried everything...
         2.  Used HD link to capture HD vid onto hard drive.  a great utility
         3.  Imported into CS4 and began editing.  Everytime I tried to use Cineform Pan and Zoom effect, Premiere crashed...everytime. Yes, I have the latest updates for prospectHD.
         4.  OK, so no pan and zoom.  Sent the project to MediaEncoder, trying a variety of formats, and they all got to 5 of 6 minutes into the encoding and Media Encoder stopped working, crashed, or reported an error.
If someone can convince me, I will still upgrade.

I still have the problem, I can't export anything.
And I really need to finish my project soon and quickly but I can't :-(
I try to figure out on Internet how to deal with it, but each time there is a file I don't have, or a folder, or the solution doesn't work...
Please, if you know anything thank you to tell me

  • I can't change the pan / zoom duration in Premiere Elements 13

Ok I'm getting really frustrated especially after I just watched a video tutorial which clearly shows how to do this in Premiere Elements 10 and I have JUST purchased version 13!
What I'm not able to adjust is the speed or duration between focus frames in a pan / zoom; after it's set up.
You are supposed to be able to go into the PAN TOOL, and either click on the pan duration, or in the In the Pan Time dialog, scrub the time duration to the desired value, or enter a value in the dialog box, OR simply adjust / drag the focus frame markers in the timeline (like in the video tutorial I watched...) to change the pan duration.  In my software at least NONE of these work.  (All these from:  Adobe Premiere Elements Help | Pan and zoom to create video-like effect)
I can't click on the pan duration, well if I do nothing happens, I can't even get a Pan Time Dialog box; so I can't do it that way; and lastly I can't click and adjust the focus frame markers in the timeline....none of it works and I can hardly believe that this is correct...the only way that I can adjust the pan time, is to delete the effect completely and start it over...this can't be correct can it??
    Any help would be appreciated!!!

Ok yep you are great, so I'm sorry I'm attempting to do it on video clips, not stills.
I was aware that the last versions of PE had similar Pan and Zoom workspaces, that's why I knew or thought I knew that my situation could be solved.
The first link that you recommend is exactly where I got the third paragraph of my question, so I had already reviewed that and to me when you read the directive it still makes it sound like you can adjust the focus frame markers....?  (very confusing)
The second link you sent might have helped me realize that the tool doesn't work the same way for Stills and it does for Video clips; (I really think like on the Adobe web site this difference should be markedly more clear to help with confusion; but in their defense maybe it's me being slow to understand)
I was able to figure out some of the difference through perseverance last night, and did figure out (like your last link explains) that you can move the CTI and then add a new focus frame...BUT I still have my original question...how can you adjust the pan duration on a video clip after it's been made and you have left the pan and zoom tool like if you want to edit that timing... I think the answer is that you can't lol, I think it has to be deleted or a new focus frame added and the other deleted to adjust the timing...am I correct?
This quote is taken from the Adobe web site one of the links you shared
You can work with focus frames in videos the same way that you work with focus frames for images. However, only those options that are relevant to movie clips appear in the pan and zoom tool.
I think maybe the last sentence is attempting to explain that but it's just so ambiguous...
Just trying to figure it out!  I do appreciate your help!

  • Illustrator cc crashes while panning or zooming

So, the company that I work for recently decided to move to the brand new creative suit, but a lot of us have been having the same problem (even on MAC). After around and hour or 2 of use, illustrator (ONLY ILLUSTRATOR) crashes, I get a windows error message saying something like, “illustrator has stopped working, seconds later is closes and that’s it, if I haven’t saved anything then that’s lost. This happens at least 6 times per day sometimes more.
The thing is though, that I have noticed 2 things… when I first open illustrator, its snappy and works great, after an hour or so it gets a bit sluggish and slow (usually by then I know that it’s going to crash soon). It usually (if not all times) crashes when am zooming or panning around.
This has been happening for over a month, every day.
    Details:
Illustrator cc (updated to the latest version)
    Windows 8 – 64 bits
    12 gb of ram
    Intel core i7-4770 3.4ghz
    Anything else I should mention?
I haven’t tried anything yet, but as soon as I finish this project I’m on I’ll format the pc, and try installing illustrator again.
Any suggestions so that I don’t have to format the pc?

    1. both tahoma and verdana are installed.
    2. no plugins
    3. no font managers (if thats what you mean)
    4. i save my file on the main hard drive (i usualy use google drives folder so my files are allways backed up online, but the others here dont use google drive so i dont think its that)
the only common factor here i think its windows 8 and the computers we use, we all have a dell xps... something.

  • Pan&Zoom in Picture-in-Picture; Zoomen&Schwenken mit Bild-in-Bild; Premiere Elements 13

    Hi,
    my question is:
I want to have the Pan&Zoom-Effect (also known as Ken-Burns-Effect) in a smaller Picture in the bigger background Picture. Every time I'm using the Pan&Zoom- Tool the Picture-in-Picture Effect disappears and the smaller Picture becomes a full frame Picture.  Is it possible to have both effects in one Picture?
Thanks for your Time and Support.
    Hallo,
    meine Frage lautet:

Here are two ways in the Expert mode in the pse 11 Editor:
(it works pretty much like pse 8, except the Tool Options are at the bottom of the workspace in pse 11)
    1. Use the Custom Shape Tool and in the drop-down choose the Arrows set
Set the options for the Shape Tool to Line and use the options in the tool options bar.

  • Pan/Zoom during transitions

(This is a follow-up question to: How to automate pan/zoom ? - That issue itself was solved so I did not want to reopen that thread.)
    Version: Adobe Premiere Elements 12
    OS: Windows 7
After creating a slideshow from Organizer > Create Slide Show, the pan/zooms are added but they only start after the 2 second transition is finished.
The result is that the slideshow does not flow as it should.
If I import the Slide Show in Premiere Elements Editor and open Motion under Applied Effects, I see that in fact the key frames are 2 seconds from the start. I can manually move them 2 seconds back to obtain the desired effect, but that can be tedious for a long slide show.
Is there a way to set this in batch or to have the slide show creator do it right in the first place ?
    Thanks,
    Simon

  • Premiere Elements 11 crashes during playback after adding PiP

I have Adobe Premiere Elements 11, up to date, and Windows 7 home up to date. This is a new problem that just started with my most recent project. I have done these types of edits and PiP's many times with success with the same type of source video formats, etc.
The problem: I add a small clip of video over the main video timeline as Picture in Picture. It adds to the timeline successfully and I can even play it back ok (before rendering). If I add a transition to the front of the PiP, it will crash during playback (pre-render). Or, if I render the timeline before adding the transition, it will also crash during playback once it gets to the PiP.
I tested PiP with still pictures and that works ok, it only crashes on video PiP. I have tested different video formats (from GoPro and from Panasonic camcorder) with the same results (crashes). I have uninstalled Adobe Premiere as well as Quicktime and re-installed them, same results. I am quite frustrated with the constant crashes, especially since I have done a dozen or more videos the same exact way using the same cameras and same types of video files.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Justin

So I created a new project using the project preset "DSLR 1080p30 @29.97". Everything worked fine in that project using the same source videos and doing PiP (tested with both methods).
I opened the project that was giving me problems and the PiP worked when using your approach of dropping the PiP clip onto Video 2 then scaling it down. I then deleted that PiP and re-added it the way I was doing it before, and it crashed the first time I tried to play it back.
I closed down Elements and again tried to reproduce the crash the same way, but this time it worked and did not crash...I tried multiple times to reproduce the crash, sometimes it would, sometimes it wouldn't...
So, I don't know exactly what the problem is. Lastnight I could reproduce the crash every time by either rendering the PiP or adding a transition to the front of it (then playing it back), every time it would crash. Now it is behaving differently.
At any rate, I will start using the correct project settings going forward and know that I can PiP using the other method as well. Maybe the project that is giving me problems is just corrupted or something, I'll toss it an start anew.

  • Does Premiere Elements use a "rate curve" for pan/zoom?

Does Premiere Elements pan/zoom feature have a sort of accelerate/decelerate option, either user-selectable, or built in to the pan/zooms?
By accelerate/decelerate, I mean the pan/zoom will start very slowly, then over a period of just a second or two, accelerate to whatever constant speed it needs to move the user-defined distance in the user-defined time, and then at the end of the pan/zoom, decelerate over the last second or two, to a stop.
Makes the pan/zoom seem much more "human/organic"...as opposed to, "robot-like" if the pan/zoom does not gently accelerate/decelerate at the start and end.
    Thanks...

If you are referring to Bezier Curves and interpolation methods, yes with regard to keyframing the Motion Scale property (for Zoom) and the Motion Position property (for Pan). The Pan and Zoom Tool keyframes can also be adjusted. Keyframing of some other properties can also be adjusted.
From Premiere Elements 13/13.1 on Windows 7 or 8.1 64 bit.
Below is an example from keyframing of the Crop property.
What version of Premiere Elements do you presently have and on what computer operating system is it running? If you do not already
have Premiere Elements 13/13.1, please evaluate the tryout before purchase to determine the compatibility of the program with your
computer environment and video editing goals.
Please let me know if I have targeted your question. Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 Crashes During Media Export

Hi, I have diligently applied several of the fixes listed here:
Re: Premiere Pro CC 2014 freezes frequently and crashes
However, Premiere Pro CC crashes at about 10% of the video export -- it gets through the audio stuff as far as i can see.

    yeah, checked out the article.
my computer is not shutting down. premiere is crashing. the media exporter is crashing.
it gets through the audio then it crashes during the video processing.
i even tried to hit pause every 2 seconds.
a test exports fine from premiere 6.0, but i am concerned that 6.0 might crash if i rebuild the whole project.
    hmm i have an idea.
obviously i would much rather the software worked.

  • Premiere Elements 10 stops working when using Pan&Zoom

After using Pan&Zoom on 2-3 pictures a message comes up that Premiere Elemets 10 stops working and will close down. Then I can start the program again and do the same on 2-3 pictures again. Any ideas what is going on?

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for your answer. It works:-)

  • Why is Premiere Pro CS6 crashing during render at 50% completion?

I am running Premiere Pro CS6 on MacBook Pro, flash drives. The Mac is brand new. Nothing else is running. No other non-factory programs are installed.
Regardless of what I do, during export to any output type, Premiere crashes when it's rendered to 50%.  I take the same project and only render part; crash at 50%. I try another new project, with nothing but a single video file, crash at 50%.
<frustration>I am about to run to Final Cut, and I really don't want to. I am losing money and time that I don't have.</frustration>
Any feedback would be majorly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Aaron

...MacBook Pro, flash drives....I take the same project and only render part; crash at 50%. I try another new project, with nothing but a single video file, crash at 50%.
Make sure you are not running out of available space
on your target drive for the export.

  • Premiere Pro CC(V.8.0) sluggish and crashes during Playback

    Issue:
Premiere Pro CC(V.8.0) extremely sluggish and crashes during Playback. My video won't play at all unless I render (which is no problem). I render all my clips and attempt to play it back. It usually will allow me to watch it the first time around. After that, the program freezes up or becomes extremely sluggish. I have even had a blank green screen pop up on my playback monitor. Sometimes the program will generate the message "A Serious Error has occurred" and will shut down. Other times, the program just locks up. I am not running any other programs except email.
    Here is what I've tried:
    Cleared all my cache files
Set my Mercury Playback set to "Software only"
Restarted the program and computer after doing the above.
Made sure I had no RGB Curves as an effect (as I did see that was an issue from other threads)
    Deleted all unused footage
Deleted all render files and re-rendered everything.
I am editing footage that requires Ultra Key. I am using a Three-Way Color Corrector. My video isn't even 1 minute long, so I would think it would be easy to render and playback.
Here is what I am working on (I know I need an upgrade - was hoping to after I finished this client's project):

Processor  2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory  4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Crashing during color correction

Adobe Premiere pro crashing during color correcting on both new macbook pros with osx 10.8.2. Clips coming off new G Raid drive with thunderbolt. Clips shot on canon mark III. Help.

Hold option down while launching to reset prefs.
Start or open another project with different media. If everything OK, that makes it look like your project or media are corrupt.  Start new project with same media.  If OK, then your previous project could have been corrupt.  And so on.
Deleting your media cache can also banish some crashing.

  • GoPro Cineform files cause Premiere to crash during Media Export

I first  noticed this problem when using a project that had been copied and transcoded with GoPro codec as demonstrated in Dave Henly's helpful video.  The codec is indeed beautiful.
However, 50% to 80% of the time when trying to export a project where there are GoPro files on the timeline, it'll get about halfway through the export before Premiere (or Media Encoder) simply freezes up.
I didn't know what was causing this problem until I was  using one large GoPro-exported video as the new base layer for a project that had otherwise been working perfectly prior to that (using Canon 60D-created .mov files).  Now it was crashing during every export.  On a hunch, I re-exported that base layer as an h264 file and replaced the GoPro video on the timeline, and now the project exports out just fine.
Is this happening to anyone else?  I'm using just the standard 8bit GoPro preset whenever I export out or transcode clips.
I'm using Premiere Pro CC, whatever the up-to-date version number is right now.
    Windows 8.
    24 gb RAM.
    GeForce Titan Black
    Intel Core i7

    Similar problem.
The new feature rendering a ae comp inside premiere timeline is perfect, but using gopro cineform codec crashes premiere on export.
