Premiere 2.2 won't open

I have just installed Premiere Pro 2.2 on a new system and the program flashes on the screen and disappears, never opening. The chat line did not help. Any solutions would be appreciated. Running Win7.

For Win7 try these 2 things
Right click the PPro2 icon and select WinXP compatibility mode from the popup option window
Next, Right click the PPro2 icon and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR from the popup option window

Premiere Elements 11 won't open

Installed Premiere Elements 11 but it won't open. Have uninstalled and reinstalled but still no luck.

Now, you say:

I would first go to the Intel Web site, and manually check for a more recent update. 2011 is a very long time ago. I find that the OS's driver update utility, or any driver utility, will likely be very out of date. For most programs, that does not usually matter much, but PrE really needs to interface VERY critically with that video driver.
If you have a Dell, Lenovo, HP, or other major mfgr's. computer, I would also check their Web site, as some of those companies will rewrap the video drivers for their specific version of the hardware and their specific version of the OS.
As for PrE running on one computer, but not the other, I would look closely to see if those two computers have the exact same video card, and video driver. If they do, then I would check to see if they each have the exact same Windows updates and hot-fixes applied. Even simple OS updates CAN render the video driver obsolete. That is why the major video chip companies update their drivers so very often. Intel, while making good chips, has not been nearly as good with driver support, as nVidia, or AMD/ATI. As mentioned above, the video driver is not so important for general computing (Intel's target), but programs, such as PrE, extreme games, or 3D work, require much more from the video driver - other programs will usually still run pretty well, but not programs, like PrE.

Premiere 6.5 won't open a project it created.

When trying to open a Premiere 6.5 project, I get the error message "File was created with newer version of Premiere" and it will not open my project. I have other projects with the same extension, created with 6.5, located on the same external HD that it will open. I created this project on this computer and have worked on it for about 3 days; now last night, it gives me this message. I also have Premiere Pro 1.0 and it won't open it either.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Some thoughts:
1.) Find someone with an even newer version of PrPro, say 2.0, and see if they can open the project.
2.) Try running your .PROJ file through XML Wrench, to see if there are some problems with the XML header info. Note: you'll have to drag this file, or use the All Files drop-down, as XML Wrench will not recognize it, due to the file extension.
If you are not in a hurry, as I am leaving town soon, I'll be glad to try to open the Project in PrPro 2.0 and see if it works for me. Obviously, all media will appear as offline, but if I can open it, that would indicate that the Project is intact, though would possibly not help you, as I could not turn around and do a Save_As for Pr 6.5. I've opened many Pr 6.5 files in PrPro, and they have worked almost 100%. This has been both PC and also Mac files.
3.) Do not know when Adobe added the Import Project feature in Pr. If Pr 6.5 allows this, create a new Project with the correct Presets. Choose Import Project and navigate to your PROJ file. This has saved the bacon in many instances. Just do not know when this was added.
4.) Check for AutoSave files in your Scratch Disks setup for this Project and see if they work better.

I'll Show you that there are some sources of error:
1. Maybe you have to activate/deactivate, so please have a look there:

2, Sometimes, we know in the meantime, the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
3. Did you already try "uninstalling and re-installing"? Be careful with (de)installing aso. by (de)installing by your own resources. As much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)

Premiere Pro CS6 won't open at all

Premeire Pro CS6 won't open at all. It locks up when it says "Loading QuickLooks_AE10.plugin" and the entire program doesn't respond at all. I think I just did the latest Creative Cloud update for the Premiere CS6 family. How can I get it working again? I have so many videos to edit! Thanks!

Premiere Elements 8 won't open on my new laptop.

I bought a new laptop (Toshiba Satellite, i3 processor, 16G RAM), uninstalled Premiere elements 8 from my old laptop and installed it on my new machine. But when I try to open it, it won't open. Instead it opens the programs (X86) folder and displays all the files and folders. What do I need to do to get it to open?

You've definitely installed it wrong. Or your shortcut is set up wrong.
What happens if you browse this folder and double-click on the exe file?

Adobe Premiere Elements 12 won't open

I downloaded Adobe premiere elements 12 on my hp and it keeps telling me I need to log in and register, but once I do it looks like it is loading for a few seconds and then just exits. Please help me fix this problem

What is the computer operating system for your HP computer? And, since it is a HP computer, does it use more than one video card/graphics card.
Premiere Elements has problems with that 2 card system. Please tell us the card situation as shown in Device Manager/Display Adapters.
The usual drill
1. Running computer from a User Account with Administrative Privileges and Run As Administrator applied to desktop icon?
2. Latest version of QuickTime installed on computer with Premiere Elements?
3. Did you install the program to the default, Drive C location?
4. Does the problem exist with and without antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Even though you cannot open the Premiere Elements Editor, can you open the Elements Organizer?
Let us start here and then decide what next.

I'm using Premiere CC and trying to open a tutorial file from the Adobe site—this window pops up: "This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type." What does this mean?

Premiere Elements 12 won't open a new project

I recently installed premiere elements 12. It is the first time install of any version of this software. When I open the program and click on Video Editor, then New Project ...a black and purple ribbon scrolls for about 2 minutes, then nothing. I have a Dell Inspiron One2305 running Windows 7 - 64 bit, AMD 2.8 Ghz processor. I have 4 gb of RAM and 916 gb of hard disk space. Reading through suggestions, I have tried the following without success:
1. I updated the driver for the AMD 4200 Video Driver.
2. I loaded the software as the administrator, but I unstalled, then created a new administrator account, and reinstalled under the new administrator account.
I'm not a techie by any means, but I can follow directions pretty well. Any help is appreciated.

This is my processor: AMD Athlon II X2 240e
I also loaded the latest version of Quicktime today (forgot to put that in my "what I already tried")
I just ran the Windows Update and one failed with this error: Code 800B0100 Windows Update Encountered an Unknown Error. When I click Get Help with This Error, nothing runs.
Running Disk Clean up and Defrag now.

Premiere Pro CS6 won't open (nor will After Effects)

I'm using a Mac, and this morning my system needed to run two updates. The first was an update for OS X to 10.9.2. It's focus was on improvement to stability, compatibility, and security. The second was a CUDA driver update to 5.5.47. After both of the updates, neither Premiere CS6 or After Effects will open. They get stuck on the loading graphic with the spinning "beachball". I have to force quit both programs. What's weird is that the CUDA update in my system preferences states that "No newer CUDA Driver available" yet below that in red it says that an update is required. This has been extremely frustrating all day long. I've tried all of the following:
Uninstalling both programs and reinstalling
Restarting the computer after each step
Updating the programs usnig the adobe application manager
Launching both from the program icon as well as a project file
I'm guessing this is primarily to do with the CUDA driver situation. I'm not sure how to fix this..

Please go to below mention location on your MAC and delete the referenced file from it and then try to launch the program.
MACINTOSH HD or “Startup drive/Library/Frameworks” and delete “CUDA.Framework”

Premiere CC 2014 won't open at all! Help

I cannot get Premiere to open at all. Crashes right after the splash screen. I have never opened the program before. After a couple of tries, I uninstalled Premiere CC This came off fine. Tried reopening Premiere cc2014 again. No luck. Still crashed after splash screen. Any Ideas?

Premiere Pro CS6 won't open...

I have the Adobe Creative Cloud, and I installed Premiere Pro CS6 Family. I was able to open it once, but now that I have tried launching it recently, it comes up with an error message saying "This application has failed to start because MSVCR100.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem". What exactly does that mean?

It means that the Microsoft Visual C++ Resource library got corrupted. Reinstalling can help, because that is the first step of the installlation process. The alternative is to go to the Microsoft site and download the latest C++ libraries and install them manually.

Premiere Elements 11 won't open offline

What is required to run Premiere Elements 11 offline? I have users with it on their laptops. The application works perfectly when on the school's network but will not even open when offline. Has anyone else run across this? OS= Win7 64bit Enterprise.

I'm now thinking that it is related to the "Documents\Adobe\Premiere Elements\11.0" folder and it containing the default locations for the ScratchDisks. (what else does the program rely on from this location?) Our schools redirect "Documents" to their network drive which is pretty standard practice in an enterprise environment. Thus no network drives when offline. District policy doesn't allow for making files available offline for these Documents folders.
With Premiere working online, going to Edit, Preferences, ScratchDisks - Captured Video, Audio, etc. setting can all be directed to a local C:\ folder but still the program will not open offline.
So the question now is; Is there a regkey, option, magic lever or way to disassociate the program from the Documents folder and have all of it's components working from the local hard drive?

Premiere Pro CC won't open any recent projects.

I recently installed Premiere Pro on Creative Cloud. When I started on my project, it was all working just fine. I closed my project and tried opening it again and the Premiere icon appears on the bottom of my screen and then nothing happens. After a few seconds my cursor turns into a watch and then the app closes. How do I fix this?

I was able to start up Premiere, but I was unable to open anything, recent or new without the app shutting off. It's fine, I restarted my computer and it was working fine again. Thanks for replying!

Premiere Pro CS4 won't open. Receiving Error message...

When I try to open Premiere Pro CS4, the program doesn't open but I receive the Error message below instead:
LoadLibraryEx Startup.dll failed with error 999: Error performing inpage operation.
Does anyone know what this means or how I can fix it aside from reinstalling the software? Thanks.

Thank you for that info. I actually just reinstalled the program only to have another error occur. Apparently that when you install Premier, you must also install a bunch of other perhipheral software including After Effects Third Party Content. There was an error with that but Premiere worked fine, but After Effects wouldn't start. Then I checked for updates and everything seems to be working fine. Not even sure if that Third Party Content is working because my laptop is not powerful enough to run After Effects effectively anyways. But thanks again for your response. I will defenitely keep that in mind if I ever have any more problems.
