Premiere 2014 unstable, keep crashing

Had a perfectli stable version of CC on my iMac, but upgraded to the 2014 edition, and then it got completely unstable...
Anybody else experiencing problems with the 2014 version?

It would help us immensely in isolating the cause of the stability problem--and to determine if we're dealing with a single root cause or multiple distinct issues--if each of you would provide the following information. Because we have almost no specifics yet beyond the fact that you're all running Premiere Pro CC2014 on Macs, this is a bit of a fishing expedition.
Exactly which model of Mac. Most of you have given some indication of this, but it will help to eliminate all guesswork by providing the precise model identifier. For example, the Late 2013 Mac Pro’s is 6,1.
OSX version
Graphics card
Is GPU Acceleration enabled? If so, does switching to Software
Is project from 7.x or 8.0?
What are you Sequence Settings?
Do certain actions trigger the crash, or does it seem random?
How big and complex are your sequences? How many audio and video tracks? Duration? Approx. number of clips on them? If you create a new sequence and insert just a few clips, can you reproduce the crash?
What types of clips are in the project?
Are you using merged clips, subclips, or multicam sequences?
Which new CC2014 features, if any, are you using in the problematic projects?
Which native effects are in use?
Which 3rd party effects are in use?
Are you using Transmit to a monitor?
Please monitor resource usage, especially RAM and CPU from the time you launch Premiere until it crashes. Is anything growing critically high?
Please post crash logs if you haven't already – ideally copied from the prompt to submit the log to Adobe by clicking the blue “information” hyperlink. Adobe doesn’t let you attach a file to forum posts due to legal and security issues, but you can upload files using Acrobat.com’s Sendnow (https://sendnow.acrobat.com) or similar services (YouSendit.com, etc.).
An update for CC2014 was released this morning. It has one fix that I know of for a Mac-specific crash. Please report whether applying this update improves Premiere's stability.

  • Edge Animate CC 2014.1 keeps crashing after 10 minutes of working

Edge Animate CC 2014.1 keeps crashing after about 10 minutes of working. I have to be very careful when importing layers, or anything I do, pretty much. It's like walking on thin ice every time I work on it. I'm working on something with a deadline and it is hindering my progress greatly.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Luna

aibun So... it just happened again. This time, I was just moving an image position. Apparently the heavy black shadow around the alert box means Edge Animate keeps generating alert boxes infinitely (screenshot below).
It's really strange. My MacBook is brand new so I couldn't think of any internal causes.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Premiere Pro CC keeps crashing upon opening

My premiere pro CC keeps crashing upon opening.  I'm using a Dell Latitude 3340.  I keep getting this message above.  I've updated my video card, logged out and back into creative cloud, tried deleting preferences, and a few other things.  Any idea how to help?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Which Graphics card is installed on your computer? Please open Event Viewer and paste the detailed error log for Premiere here so that we can suggest further steps.

  • Premiere Pro cc14 keeps crashing... Yes, for me too.

Premiere Pro cc14 keeps crashing, freezing and I keep having to force quit it, start again, and then after another little while (5-10min) - it does it again and again and again and again... you get the drift.
I am on a MacBook Pro retina.
Specs are like those or better that those recommended for the software so I doubt it's a machine problem.
    But in a nutshell:
SSD (500gb with over 50gb available)
    8gb Ram
NVIDIA graphics card (one of the recommended ones for Mac for this software)  - Updated the CUDA driver and thought it was going to resolve the issue but it didn't (1gb)
    2.6ghz intel core i7 processor
Working on Mark3 footage off a usb3 harddrive (which I always do and this never has been a problem ever before).
This is unacceptable considering this is a service we pay, we are a professional boutique filmmaking business and we cannot work in those conditions.
Thought it was the computer, turns out it's most likely your software! So please a fix that WORKS is needed.
    Thoughts? Advice?
Thinking of going back to normal CC which was working just fine... but need to see this project through for now as you can't save the project for a previous version of PP (nice one!)

    stephbubble,
I was talking about the Intel Graphics Card. Please check if you have an Intel Graphics Card alongside the NVIDIA Graphics Card. Have you tried that Graphics Switching option?
If that doesn't help, try this:
    Go to the following locations:
Location 1: When in Finder, click on Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
    Location 2: Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe
    Location 3: Documents > Adobe
In all the locations, rename the 'Adobe' folders to 'OldAdobe'
Launch Premiere, accept the License Agreement and see if it works.
Note: You will lose your customized workspaces and keyboard shortcuts.
    Thanks,

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CC Keeps Crashing

The following are my computer Specs for my HP with Windows 7 Home Premium
I am a Creative Cloud Subscriber and at this point I am a really unhappy customer.  I've tried re-installing the software, running as administrator, and still I am have nothing but crashes.  Most times I load it crashes on load up.  Other times it will load a project and then crash.  I sometimes also get into a project for a few minutes, then another crash.  It's getting to a point where I am so frustrated, because I have looked over these forums and everything I see the Staff members mentioning, I try...yet still it's not working.  Someone please help me figure out why it keeps crashing, their are no error messages given to me...all I get is the Windows 7 message that it has stopped working and then a close option. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE someone help me, I beg of you.  I am working in Adobe Audition too for recording and most times it works and doesn't crash, but I notice that sometimes it takes 3 attempts to start the program to run properly.  Once Audition CC is open I have had no trouble.  Now that I am working with video and audio...I need to be able to use Premiere.  I hope this isn't too long of a rant, but I am sincerely frustrated with this.

    Hi,
Thanks for your post. Please provide me the details of the graphics card that is installed on your machine. Go to start/search program box and search for Device manager to check the graphics card go to display adapters and check the name of the card.

  • Premiere Elements 8 Keeps Crashing

I'm creating a 3 - 5 minute video in Premiere Elements 8.0, which I purchased online from the Adobe store. The specs for the video and computer are as follows:
The camcorder I used to shoot the footage is a Sony Handycam with model number HDR-SR12. It's a  digital HD video camera recorder that shoots in NTSC 1920x1080i HD  recording. The footage was shot with AVC HD  9M (HQ), which records in higher image quality mode. The  video camera is connected to my computer through a USB cable.
The computer  itself is a Windows 7 desktop computer. The CPU is an HP Pavilion Elite  HPE-150f PC with Intel Core i7-860 processor. I imported the video into  Premiere by selecting "File" --> "Get Media From" and then choosing the third  option from the top.
My import option is NTSC/AVCHD/Full HD 1080i 30 5.1 channel, which matches the specs of the camera I shot the footage with.
The video itself consists of an introduction, two voice-overs in a row, and a conclusion. They are seperated by the "fade to white" video transition. I was working on the video in order from the beginning. Once I had trimmed each part of the video, I deleted parts of the audio where I was intending to add my voice-overs in. While working on the project, I never rendered the video by pressing "Enter."
Up to this point, everything was working fine. I added the voice-over by adding the video clip with the voice-over, and unlinked the audio and video. Then I deleted the video, since that was not needed. I placed the audio into the narration part of the timeline (but all other audio components thusfar are in the audio section). This is the point where the computer first crashed.
I was able to recover my work and continue onwards. I successfully added both voice-overs to the video. Then I added in a music file to the bottom most part of the timeline. This is where the program crashed again. Now, whenever I open that particular video project file, it always crashes when I drag the cursor over the timeline. I tried rendering the video itself by pressing "enter," and while it rendered fine without crashing, the program still crashed when I touched the timeline. I also removed the music file from the video project, but it still keeps crashing.
Clearing up space via Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter did not solve this problem. My C drive still has several hundred gigabytes of memory left, and my D drive, which is occupied only by Recovery, only has about 1.64 GB left on it.
The odd thing is that the problem is isolated to that single video project. I opened up one of my older projects, a 9 minute practise video with audio and music components, but no narration components. I fiddled around with that, and the program never crashed. I also opened up a new project, and put in the introduction and two voice-overs from the video project I was working on, and the program did not crash at all.
I want to know why the program crashed in the first place, and why it kept crashing on that one video project, and not on others. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If I understand correctly, you are trying to edit AVCHD with only one hard drive... not going to work
Video editing requires a minimum of TWO hard drives... boot drive for Windows and all software, separate PHYSICAL drive (not a partition) for data and temporary files... a 3rd drive for temp files is often used
With only one drive your computer is constantly trying to read software instructions at the same time as video data is flowing... not going to work

  • Premiere Pro CC keeps CRASHING - Mac

Premiere Pro has been crashing for over a year. Even before I upgraded to CC.
Sometimes it will crash more than 5 times in 10 minutes. Longest it has run is just under an hour without crashing.
Everytime it crashes it says "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your project."
Now I am editing a project trying to import an AAF file and it keeps crashing on import.
I have done a full uninstall, used CC Cleaner. Reinstalled and it still crashes.
The log I get from the crash is massive but happy to paste it here if it helps. Let me know.

  • MUSE 2014.2 Keeps Crashing on Opening Screen

Muse keeps crashing when I try to open it.  I don't know what is going on and this is getting really frustrating.

Were you using the Self-Hosted Fonts feature with 2014.1? (We've had one report of a crash that was caused by the installer failing to migrate all the preference files related to self-hosted fonts.)
Are you on Mac or Windows? What is the behavior you're encountering? If there is an error message please post a screenshot. If there's an Apple Crash Report dialog please copy/paste the contents of the report here.
Also, please send us the MuseLog.txt file from your Documents folder at [email protected] along with a link to this thread for context, of copy and paste the last few pages of that file into a message here.
    Thank you.

I just downloaded for the first time, so it's completely up to date.  But the application keeps crashing!  Every time I look at the source files, or when I get to a certain point in the video editing (dragging a clip down to the sequence board), it freezes up and kicks me out of the Application.  I get the following error message.  Please help!

  • My Adobe Premiere Elements 12 keeps crashing

My adobe Premiere Elements keeps crashing no matter what I do. This message then appears and after I relaunch the program, everything I have completed it deleted or anything I have done before the crash, regardless if I have saved it or not, is deleted.

    >Display is an NVIDIA Quadro 2000M
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself
    nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
While rare, it sometimes DOES happen that a newer driver has problems and you MAY need to go back to an earlier version nVidia driver

  • Help! Muse 2014.3 keeps crashing when I attempt to save my .muse file

I have the latest version of Muse [2014.3] Since the update the application repeatedly crashes at the least 'provocation'.
I'm building a multipage website for a client and brought the last file home [I'd been working on it at my office]. One or two of the image files needed updating, which I did. When I attempted to save the updated file I got [and keep getting] a fatal error.
The error message reads: "Dangling Ref or Ownership: BoxPageItem refers to unknown UID, BoxPageItem refers to unknown UID, BoxPageItem refers to unknown UID".
The application then hangs and I have to force quit. This is happening repeatedly and the dialogue tells me nothing about how to fix these errors [3 image errors perhaps, since the current crashes happen after updating images?]. I'm in a serious time crunch now, how can I recover my file to continue working on this project and what is causing the problem? Anyone help me?
Is this version of Muse really that unstable?
    Thanks,
    Charlie

    Hi Fabia,
I think I fixed it over the weekend. But interestingly, my problem was images inside compositions too.
I did something similar to you, where I didn't let Muse update when the file opens [which was causing the crashes]. Instead I located the images in the assets panel, opened them in Photoshop and resaved them. Then I imported and saved after each one. This seemed to work.
For me, the 'container' was apparently OK, I had the background fill set to none anyhow, so reasoned there might be a problem with one of the seven images [seven in my case, but which one, or maybe all?]. Since then, I've been able to add content and save normally, and this morning I've been able to let the client see the site progress, as promised.
Thanks for the reply and good luck with your project.
    Charlie
