Premiere 4 elements - new project creation problem

Let me say first that this product does all I want.
I have discovered a problem that has only just popped up. I have for a long time directed it to D:\videos. And previously when I created a new project within this directory the software created the following directories within the new project name i.e. test and then within test the following directories:-
Adobe Premiere elements preview files
endoded files
media cache files
stop motion capture
Now it does not. Clearly I've done something - trouble is I dont know what and I want to get back to using it this way.
I've checked in Edit\preferences\scratch discs and it shows (custom) D:\videos for all
I'm totally lost!
Any help would be appreciated.
Andy

Sounds like something has got corrupted. You may have to uninstall PE, deleting user preferences on the way and re-install. For good measure it is a good idea to delete any remaining PE folders that might be in C:\program files\Adobe and in C:\Documents and settings\<user name>\application data\Adobe, and then run a registry cleaner, before reinstalling.<br /><br />Make sure you don't delete any project or source files while you are doing that. It may be safer to rename the folders first and then delete when you are satisfied every thing is OK.

  • Problem during Template based new Project Creation

    Dear Sir,
    I have created a Project Mask as TW-X-XXXX-0-0-0 . Subsequently I created a Template TW-X-XX99 also .
For creating a new Project (using CJ20n) with a copy option based upon the Template project ,  I had given new Project as TW-A-RS10 .
Here in the newly created Project , the various WBS appearing are as TW-A-XX99-1 , TW-A-XX99-2 . However  We desire that these WBS must have appeared as TW-A-RS10-1 , TW-A-RS10-2 .
Kindly guide us as what steps we should follow to resolve this problem pl .

    Hi,
Now you can proceed in the following way.
    Step 1: Tr.Code:CJ91
Create the Project Template as Level-1 as TW-X-XX99
                                                                 Level-2.1 as TW-X-XX99-1
                                                                 Level-2.2 as TW-X-XX99-2.
Once you save the Project, release it to create your operative project by using it.
Step 2:Now Create your Operative Project By using above template.
1.Goto CJ01, then enter the following inputs.
                2.project def. : TW-A-RS10
                3.Project Profile: As required-mandatory
In Template Section give the following Template Info:
                4.Std. project def.:  TW-X-XX99
                5.Enter.
6.Now you can entered into project Definition screen.
7.Click on WBS Icon on the header. Now you will entered into WBS Element hierarchy Screen.
             8.Here select all WBS elements.
9.Click on Replace button on the header.
10.you can get the popup, here you can enter the following information.
                   search:X
                   replace with:A
11.click on Enter button on the popup.
again repeate the same process to replace XX99 by RS10,
              Click on Replace button,
              Search :XX99
              Replace with : RS10
Click on Replace button on the popup.
12.Now for all wbs elements have modified as "TW-A-RS10" and you can see as you expected
                                           Level-1 as TW-A-RS10
                                                                Level-2.1 as TW-A-RS10-1
                                                                Level-2.2 as TW-A-RS10-2.
13.Click on "check" button on the header.
14.click on "Include" button on the header.
    15.Save it.

  • New database creation problem

While we are trying to create new database in test server it getting below error.
    Error:

    Hello,
There may be session accessing the model database, and that prevents the creation of the new database. This is by design; an exclusive lock is required on model database by SQL Server, since it needs to create the new database from a copy of the model database.
Run the sp_who2 to know which session has opening the model database.
    Hope this helps.

but i am not able to find my default web Application directory,
pls tell me how i can know my default web app directory,
or any new created directory in applications directory in birendra directory can be default web app directory.
pls write me a easy and successfull way.
    thanx
    Birendra India(new delhi)

When you create domain we dont have any default webapplication. You can make your application as default web application. We need to add tag in weblogic.xml if u r deploying only war or if u r deploying ear then we can define in application.xml.
    weblogic.xml should have
    <context-root>/</context-root>
if it an ear application.xml should add
    <module>
              <web>
                   <web-uri>ex.war</web-uri>
                   <context-root>/</context-root>
              </web>

  • Premiere Elements 12 Project settings

Does Premiere Elements 12 support 1080p video and 5.1 sound in the same project? From what I can see in the project settings I can have 1080p with stereo or 1080i with 5.1.

    VRB817964
Unfortunately I have no access to a Mac computer and have never worked with one.
But, there are several basic ingredients to this
    a. Premiere Elements' New Project Dialog's List of Available Project Presets
    and
    b. The .sqpreset file of an existing project preset
If the Adobe .sqpreset files are the same independent of computer operating systems Windows vs Mac and their location is the only difference, this approach should be applicable for the Mac user.
To put this thought to the test, can you find the following files on your Mac computer, named as
    PAL AVCHD 1080p50.sqpreset file
    or
    NTSC AVCHD 1080p60.sqpreset file
Can you find the lines in each's Notepad document that needs to be edited according to the blog post with its Premiere Elements Windows base?
If so, then the hoped for outcome would be to edit them as per the blog post instructions and then put the edited ones into the location where the unedited ones are found.
To much to hope for, but worth a try. One of my goals for 2014 is to get a Mac computer.
We will be watching for further developments.
    Thanks.

Hello. I have premiere elements 12, and have tried to open a new project, but nothing happened. All you see is a purple and black ribbon, then nothing.  I can  open the  organizer without any problem at all!
What I have done so far:
Accepted all windows 7 updates - essential  and non esential
    I've updated my graphics drivers
I've also deleted and reloaded Premiere Elements from the disc
I reloaded quick time and accepted the latest version
    All have no affect.
My system is a windows 7  64 bit PC.
I also have plenty of hard drive space
    Cyberlink  PowerDirector 11 works fine.
PS - This seems a common complaint about Premiere Elements 12
    Help!

Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7 64 bit
Look at the issue with and without the antivirus disabled. If that does not help....
There is a likelihood that the program may not be properly activated. Please review the following for possible solution

    Other possibilities include
    a. Deleting the Settings file named Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file
    Local Disc C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    12.0
and in the 12.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Options Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the whole path cited.
    b. Do the uninstall, reinstall with a ccleaner (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts) in between the uninstall and reinstall with the antivirus and firewalls turned Off.
Please review and consider. We will be watching for your progress.
    Thank you.

  • Unable to start new project in Premiere elements 10

I have had elements 10 (both photoshop and premiere) downloaded for a while from a multi-pack and have been using photoshop with no problems at all.  Tried to use premiere and start a new project from the welcome screen, but it starts loading, gets to 'Loading Importer Quicktime.prm' then does nothing.  I can open the organizer, but nothing else.  Tried opening a new project from the organizer, but the same problem.  I have uninstalled, reinstalled from disc, and checked quicktime, flash etc are all up to date.  Any ideas?

What operating system are you using?
If Windows, have you manually gone to Windows Update and ensured you have the non-critical updates (which dont' download automatically)?
How fast is your processor, how much RAM do you have and how much free, clean, defragmented space is on your hard drive?

  • 'serious error' when creating a new project in adobe premiere elements 10

    Hello,
I saw similar questions on the forums but not quite what is happening with me.
First off I should say i've never had this working however the copy of premiere elements 7 we had worked perfectly fine. I am a technician in a school and i'm trying to install the software for the students (we have lots of lisences). The software appears to install perfectly fine and the launcher works. I click to create a new project (or open an old one) premiere appears to load up correctly. It only crashes once I click to browse for a location to save the file.
The error message says, as i've noticed seems to be a generic message for any error on premiere: "Sorry, A serious error has occured that has caused Adobe Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project"
At first I thought this was student user rights (as students do not have access to C:\) however I have since tried it with my own admin account which has full rights and effectively should be able to do anything and it still continues to crash.
The stations I am working with are:
    Operating System
MS Windows XP Professional 32-bit SP3
    CPU
    Intel Pentium E5200  @ 2.50GHz
    Wolfdale 45nm Technology
    RAM

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide some insight on this matter

  • How to change the default new project folder in Premiere Elements 13?

I keep all my projects on a different drive than the default My Documents folder. How can I change the default setting so that Premiere Elements does not try to create new projects in the My Documents\Pemiere Elements\13.0 folder? In fact, I do not want that folder to be used for anything (including layouts and styles).

    steveb
    Short version....
Referring to the 13.0 Folder in the Adobe Folder in documents, you wrote
In fact, I do not want that folder to be used for anything (including layouts and styles).
I do not believe that is possible.
    For my best case scenario
Set the Scratch disks, not to Same As Project, but set for Custom with the set being the save location that you set for the project file.
Set the project save in, my preference, File Menu/Save As.
You are going to end up automatically with a 13.0 Folder in the Libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/13.0 Folder every time you open a Premiere Elements project. No matter how many times you try to delete the 13.0 Folder. And that 13.0 Folder will contain a Layout Folder and, if you applied a Style in the project, a Styles Folder.
    Longer Version....
There is no problem directing your project file to the save location of choice. You can do that two way
    1. After you open the project to the Expert workspace, go to File Menu/Save As to change the name of the project as well as the location for the save in order to avoid the defaults.
    2. You can also do that through File Menu/New/Project.
That 13.0 Folder also gains its contents from the settings of the scratch discs in Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disc - some examples preview files, disc encoding files, conformed audio files... Some Files/Folders are placed there automatically. So what to do to keep the Documents area clear of Premiere Elements files, project or otherwise after you have move all that you thought you could to a non Adobe default location? See above best case scenario.
    Miscellaneous
    1. If you set the save location of the project in either of the 2 ways, that setting will not hold from project to project. It will hold for that particular project.
    3. If you set the Scratch disks in Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks, those settings seem to hold from project to project as well as for in the particular project.
Stevenb, please review and consider and verify. I have gone through several scenarios on what you would prefer. But, I do not see a way to make that happen with the programming that exists.

  • Premiere Elements 12 will not start a new project

I loaded Premiere Elements 12 on my...
    64bit HP Laptop Dv7
    Intel core i7
    Windows 7
    Radeon Graphics (HD 6770m)
    updated Quicktime
updated display drivers as requested when first installed.
    reloaded PE 12
Started PE12 but when i click Video Editor and then select New Project the button shows the purple and black lines for about a minute and then stops and nothing happens
I have almost given up.  I have been trying to load this program on my pc for 5 days.  Nothing but problems.  I have asked pc gurus at work and no one has a clue what could be wrong.
Why will Adobe Premiere Elements 12 not start on my laptop?
by the way there is no BadDrivers.txt file to delete that i can find...
Does anyone have a clue as to why the application would not start?

    Rotary
It is late where I am so I will give you some things to work on.
Premiere Elements does not fare well with 2 video cards/graphics cards. Have you disabled the Intel and observed the consequences?
Determine if the problem is there with and without the antivirus disabled.
    BadDrivers.txt file
    Local Disk C
    Program Data
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
in the Premiere Elements Folder will be one file and some folders. You do not want the folders or what is in them. You want that file which is the BadDrivers.txt file. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path shown. Be aware that after you open the program again after the file deletion, the program will generate a new BadDrivers.txt file but by that time the problem should be gone (hopefully).
I would probably be going after the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file -
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    12.0
and in the 12.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists.
Better yet....check out the information in the following blog posts

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 8 Can't finish installing Air Runtime Process, and Can't open New Project!

    Hey guys,
I'm having some major issues installing PE8.  I can open the installer screen fine, and it installs fine until it gets to installing the Air Runtime Process.  I have left it downloading that one process for about 5 hours, and i'm not exaggerating.  Finnally, I get too mad waiting for it to finish that I exit out of the installation process.  Even though the installation was never fully finished, for some reason I do have a Desktop icon for PE8.  I click on that and it opens the splash screen with the buttons "New project", "Open Project", and "Organize".  When I try to open "New Project" it begins loading the files that it needs to to open it.  When it gets to loading the Windows Media file, it freezes and then crashes.
I have uninstalled the PE8 and reinstalled it about 5 times now.  I have also used the Windows Cleanup program to clean these corrupted files out of my system before reinstalling.  I have called in twice now to the technical support and they haven't helped me one ounce.  Any answers would be appreciated!  Thanks
    Thanks Again,
    Spencer

    Hello,
I have the exact same problem as you with PE8 and Win7 (x64), and a reboot also helped me. But the problem came back the next time I tried to open PE. Have you expreienced the same? It cant be that we have to reboot every time we want to use PE?
    Best regards

  • Just installed Adobe Premiere Elements 10 - Crashes upon opening a new Project

I've just installed Adobe Photoshop & Premiere Elements 10 on one of our marketing user's PC, and while Photoshop works like a charm, Premiere Elements 10 crashes every time you try to create a new project.  I have done a total uninstall and reinstall, but get the same results.  Here is the crash report generated by Windows (7 Pro x64)

Thank you for trying to help, Bill.
I had read about the fingerprint problem in the forums and deactivated that before my first post.
I am reasonably proficient with CS6 web/design, but I don't have a lot of tech knowledge.
While working today, I had trouble with Acrobat X and had to uninstall/reinstall.  I have done more restarts in the last 36 hours!
I uninstalled/reinstalled PrE ... in case something that I had done had helped!  Organizer opens but not PrE.
I will put the EventViewer stuff at the end of the post.  I didn't know there was an EventViewer until today!
It says something about PCI bus.  I went to control panel, etc., devices and there were two instances of PCI bus.  I asked Windows to update the driver for both and got a message that it had the most up to date driver.  Also indicated they were working properly.  When I sent the link at the bottom of the EventViewer info to Windows, I got a screen saying it was an unknown error.
I bought PrE on Saturday ... to replace NERO.  I thought it would be more consistent with the other programs I use, but maybe I should cut my losses and go back to NERO???  What do you think?
I really do appreciate the help.

What antivirus program does not your computer use...McAfee? If so, please disable it and determine if your issues are gone.
Also, right click the Desktop Icon for Premiere Elements 12 and select Run As Administrator.
    If not....
When you have uninstalled reinstalled the program, have you done so from the same installation files downloaded and purchased?
Have you looked a uninstall, ccleaner run through for the computer, reinstall with antivirus and firewalls Off, using a new set of
installation files either from your Orders at Adobe or from the following web site
    http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-12-direct-download-links-premiere.html
If you do use this link for the download, please read and follow that web site's "Note: Very Important Instructions" so that you do not end up with Access Denied message.
Have you ever gotten as far as to enter into the Expert workspace of the program?

with right click of the icon, followed by selecting Run As Administrator?

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 7 running on? What are its computer resources - installed and available RAM, free hard drive space, processor, etc?
What size project is this new project that you want to save? When you talk about "save", I am assuming that you mean saving the project prel file for further edits later. Is that correct? Or, are you talking about "save" in the sense of exporting your Timeline content to a file saved to the computer hard drive or to burn to disc?
    Is this type of problem
    a. It worked before but not now
    or
    b. It never worked before?
What is on that Timeline - video (format and duration), still (pixel dimensions and how many), and other?
Let us start here and then decide what next.
    Thank you.
