Premiere 5.5 Pro Audio failed after a time

Hii have the following problem.
i use PR 5.5  Pro and try to edit clips in a sequence. I put the audio and video file in an after a indifferent time the audio stops. Before eveything is syncron.  The problem apears after the second opening of the seqence. I cleared the mediacache. The Problem returns at the exactly same clip of the sequence. At another project at another clip or clips.
Any idea to solve the problem.
Greetings from Berlin
Tom

You'll need a USB audio interface or a simple USB mic.
If you have specific questions about Premiere, post them on the Adobe forum.
Good luck.

  • Acrobat Pro X Failed After Latest Update Downloaded

    I have been using Acrobat Pro X on my Windows 7 machine successfully for almost 2 years now.  After the latest update downloaded 2 days ago, Acrobat X will no longer function properly and will not open.  What to do?

    AcroTray is running in the background.  I have attempted to create pdfs from Word and Adobe Illustrator (AI) files two different ways:  First by using the Print function in in Word and AI.  It takes me as far as selecting a file name for the new pdf, but never completes the process.  Secondly, by using the Create PDF function in Acrobat.  Again, after selecting a file name and hitting Save the process ends without creating the new pdf.  Any thoughts on this?

  • Facetime incoming audio fails after 50 minute conversation... why?

    Not only Facetime, but Skype will loose incoming audio if the conversation exceeds 50 minutes (approximately).  Outgoing audio and  video in / out aren't affected.  The 'fix' is to restart the app.  This happens 100% of the time.  The failure is always the same... incoming audio becomes progressively more choppy until it is unintelligible  The progression from perfect audio to unintelligible audio take about 30 seconds.   Audio I/O is via USB using a 'Focusrite Scarlett 2i2' audio interface, but have had the same problem with a Behringer and an Edirol USB interface. Any idea what might be going wrong?

    I have a similar problem with FT audio, except that in my case the problem seems localized to an iPad 3G that has problems SENDING  audio to an iPad 2G.
    We switched to FT a couple of months ago because of poor quality when using Skype, and FT was noticeably better for the first few calls. However, we have now started getting loss of audio from the iPad 3G after 5-10 min. In one case, the audio returned for 5-10 sec., but then never came back.
    We now switch to Skype when this problem occurs; the quality is not so good, but the audio does not drop out.
    The owner of the iPad 3G has had similar problems in other FT calls.
    Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might happen? Could marginal upload bandwidth at the IPad 3G end cause this? (It seems unlikely; I would expect FT to shed video before audio so that the users could still communicate effectively.)

  • Adobe Pro updater fails after implementing Cryptolocker software restriction policies - need fix

    Hello everyone
    As part of our protection against the fast-spreading Cryptolocker virus, I added a Group Policy Object with Software Restriction Policies against executing files in the temp directories that Cryptolocker uses:
    %appdata%\*.exe
    %appdata%\*\*.exe
    %LocalAppData%\*.exe
    %LocalAppData%\*\*.exe
    e.g. the variable directories %appdata% and %localappdata% and one level down from there
    I also blocked executables from running within various "zip" programs.
    I learned later (second hand) that Acrobat Pro and Adobe Flash updates have been blocked by this SRP.  They either get an explicit message or fail with another error.  The update downloads successfully but when you try to install it from the system tray icon it fails.
    If I go and find the downloaded .MSP file (I have Acrobat Pro 10 so mine was in c:\program data\adobe\ARM\Acrobat_10.1.5  ) and click "Install", it installs successfully.
    We have an administrator account that is unrestricted but doing the updates for people is not a good long term solution.
    Can someone experienced with this please tell me if there is a specific executable or executables that I can "whitelist" by adding to my Software Restriction Policy as an "Unrestricted" file.  The kicker with the "whitelist" is that I need to bless a specific executable (e.g. I can't unrestrict a directory or give wildcards ... it has to be a fully qualified path and file name).
    NOTE:  We have mostly Windows 7 machines (non Win 7 are Vista so have the same user directory structure) and a mix of Acrobat Pro 9, X, XI
    Many thanks in advance for your assistance.

    I have the same issue as you.  I notified Adobe that businesses taking action to prevent CryptoLocker are finding themselves unable to update Adobe Acrobat/Reader.  I suggested changing the installer location away from the temp directory.  The response I got?  "We can't change the installer."
    What kind of BS answer is that?  Why not just say "we don't care about you as a customer"  I hope Adobe gets infected with Crypto.

  • Wired Ethernet Deskjet Pro 8500 failed after Windows 8.1 upgrade

    Following an upgrade to Windows 8.1 my ethernet wired Deskjet Pro 8500 A909g disappeared from my installed printers. This printer/scanner had worked successfully on this computer under Windows 8.
    I have tried several suggestions including uninstalling all HP software and starting over with a fresh install. I can see the printer on my network by using a browser and going to the printers web address. I have downloaded HP's Print and Scan Doctor and can see the printer on the scan conducted.
    When I download the latest HP Officejet Pro Full Feature Software and Drivers, Version14.8.0, and run it, the setup cannot see my printer on the network. When I select the choice of a wired network setup, the software searches for a device then returns to selection screen. If I select a wired ethernet setup again the same cycle repeats.
     I have gone through HP Solutions for Install Errors (Windows 8) Troubleshooting wizard without finding a solution. Once, during my efforts I successfully installed this printer using an USB cable, but this is not the solution I desire.
    This printer is successfully installed on a second Windows 7 computer on the same wired ethernet Workgroup.
    Are there any solutions available?

    I have patiently waited a week for any suggestions but have heard nothing. I have searched the forums and support sites without finding a working solution. I have purchased and successfully used many HP products both at home and in business for many years. This incident is discouraging and does not speak well for HP product service. Is anyone listening?

  • Rc-local.service keeps failing after one time success

    Actually it's quite weird, every time rc-local.service was enable successfully with boot but then it keeps failing. However, once I modify /etc/systemd /system/rc-local.service( even something that really doesn't matter ), it will be enabled successfully again. but only ONCE each time.
    [Unit]
    Description=/etc/rc.local compatibility
    [Service]
    Type=oneshot
    ExecStart=/etc/rc.local
    TimeoutSec=0
    RemainAfterExit=yes
    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target

    All of those things can be done with udev rules.  I had a Momentus XT, which I now no longer have in my system, but my old rule is still there.  It is as follows:
    ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="block", ATTRS{model}=="ST95005620AS", RUN+="/sbin/hdparm -B 247 /dev/$kernel"
    You could also do something like this to apply it to all rotational disks
    ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="sd[a-z]", ATTR{queue/rotational}=="0", RUN+="/sbin/hdparm -B 254 /dev/$kernel"
    As far as the stuff in /sys, use udevadm to get stuff to put in your rule to identify it.  So something like
    $ udevadm info -a -p /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswiteroo
    I have also used a rule for my backlight setting on boot.  To find stuff, once again use the udevadm
    $ udevadm info -a -p /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0
    My resulting backlight rule is:
    ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="acpi_video0", SUBSYSTEM=="backlight", SUBSYSTEMS=="pci", DRIVERS=="i915", ATTR{brightness}="2"
    For more info on writing udev rules see http://www.reactivated.net/writing_udev_rules.html but when you get to the part about the udev commands, those no longer apply, as they have now been replaced by the udevadm commands listed above.  The commands are mostly correct, just instead of udevinfo, it is udevadm.
    I hope this helps!

  • Losing USB audio output after a time

    I have an external DAC connected to my iMac via USB (direct not via hub) and Toslink Optical.
    In System Preferences > Sound > Output, the DAC shows up correctly, as also it does in Audio Midi Setup > Audio Devices > Output.
    Also, the 'Built-in Output' (Optical) shows up correctly.
    I can switch between USB or optical input on the DAC and they both work fine.
    However, peridocally, the USB output from the iMac will simply stop working: aside no sound, the 'lock' light on the DAC goes off.
    The USB settings remain in prefs/midi panes, and the USB DAC device remains shown correctly (and the format etc. can continue to be adjusted).
    The optical output is not affected and continues to work normally, so switching the DAC to that gives me sound back.
    Unplugging and replugging the USB connection 'restores' the USB sound.
    Any ideas what's getting lost/corrupted here?
    (I'm on 10.8.4 despite the signature)

  • Logic Can't Find Audio Files After a Time Machine Restore

    My hard drive crashed so I was forced to restore by using Time Machine. Now when I open some of my old projects they cannot find certain Audio FIles. These Audio Files seem to be files not ordinarily found in the Audio Files Folder inside the project folder, these files have the same names as the "Undo Data" Folders. These files are not physically there when I search the older backups in Time Machine. Im assuming that these are Virtual files created by Logic within the Undo Data. How do I get them to become recognized again???
    Please Help!

    "audiofile.caf" means an audio file (surprise!) in Core Audio Format. IOW, a generic term for anything you might like to deal with in Logic. The implication is that it thinks you want to do something with a file (it understands you are attempting a drag-&-drop operation), but it doesn't know anything about the file — not even its name.
    There are other ways to get audio files into your arrangement, so you should try those ( e.g.: +Audio > Import Audio File+ ). Drag-&-drop is just one method; the others are equally good, & if they work, we can take it from there. Meanwhile — you are sure you are dragging the actual file, & not an alias? Or some other 'not-the-actual-file' type thing?

  • Recording & audio stops after certain time...

    Greetings.
    I've been plagued with a problem with GB2.0.2. This happens on both my 1.8 G5 4gb ram and my PB 1.67 with 1.5 gb ram. No other applications are running.
    I have a Audio technica microphone plugged into a Grifith IMic, and that is plugged into USB port on either one or the other of the above computers.
    I have a cheap pair of headphones that I plug into the IMic to monitor my recording and listen to play back.
    I ussually create a tune by first importing a midi file from Band in a box, by drag and drop. I then quit BIAB. Works fine so far.
    I then record my "real instrument" part and sometime between 30 seconds and three minutes, I hear a click, and then I hear nothing, but garage band keeps recording. This does not happen consistantly at the same spot. Sometimes I am withing a few bars of finishing a song, and then...nothing!!!
    Very frustrating, since I never know when it is going to happen. Sometimes I can make it through an entire song with out this happening, but what a PITA.
    I've read about something like this on these forums, and I know that if I am having this problem on two completely updated macs, that there must be others out there struggling with this issue as well.
    Has anyone heard of a fix for this?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Since installing CS6, Acrobat Pro X fails I had to reinstall it a few times, now doesn't work

    Since installing CS6, Acrobat Pro X failed a few times. I had to reinstall it a few times, now doesn't work at all even after installing again.

    Hi there
    Thank you for your reply.
    When I click on the link for the cleaner however, before I can download the
    file, it gives me this message:
    "Important - This tool is not for use with any creative suite products
    including suites that contain Acrobat. It can only be used with standalone
    versions of Acrobat and Adobe Reader"
    Adobe X Pro forms part of my Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard?
    Please advise.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro audio distortion

    Hi,
    I have Adobe Premiere CS2 and some audio distortion problems. I captured a footage from my Sony DV Digital-8 camcorder. It's a standard DV footage with 16-bit PCM audio. When audio is nearly-peaking (not peaking), it gets distorted in Premiere, but doesn't in other applications (VirtualDub, Media Player Classic, Windows Media Player, mplayer). I'm sure this is because an internal conversion (called conforming) from 16-bit PCM to 32-bit floating point PCM. Project Setting of the Audio Track is 48000Hz 32bit floating point - Stereo for a DV project, despites DV standard supports 16 or 12 bit Audio tracks. In user manual they write the following:
    "For maximum editing performance and audio quality, Adobe Premiere Pro processes each audio channel, including audio channels in video clips, as 32-bit floating-point data at the project’s sample rate. To do this it must conform certain types of audio to match the 32-bit format and the project sample rate."
    Well, if I'm a professional video editor, I can (and have the right to) decide whether which sample rate and bit-depth are the best for me, but they don't let me set audio other than the default, there is no option like bit-depth available not even when creating a NEW project. No problem if Adobe's genius developers thought 32-bit mixing provides much more quality, but if they forget to implement 16-bit to 32-bit internal conversion correctly, please let me decide to use at least a fallback method.
    Thanks for your help

    Just looking at the waveform confirmed my initial reaction: Way, way
    oversteered. Everything is clipped and your best approach is to
    reshoot. That some players can handle this seriously mistreated audio
    may be caused by audio limiters. They should, otherwise you would blow
    up your speakers.
    Well, you can say that and if this sample was a music maximized with compressors, it would distort too. Sony Digital-8 camcorder has an internal limiter, so only soft-peaking can occur, but no serious distortion. Media Players (eg. mplayer) don't have limiters unless you specify an external limiter filter. I've already told this isn't the clip you want me to re-shoot. This is a sample I created to show you the problem. I sent this to one of my friends who has Ulead MediaStudio Pro 7.0. It doesn't distort there either. Have you tried loading it to an audio editor like Audacity or Adobe Audition? You can see no hard-peaking or distortion if you zoom in the waveform.
    Waveform at 00:00:00:21. No distortion, only high levels can be seen on this waveform.
    Waveform after 00:00:00:21. Soft peaking in right (bottom) channel.
    I'd appreciate if someone took this seriously instead of repeating "reshoot it" and "high levels".

  • Dynamic Link After Effects to Premiere (Video Only, No Audio)?

    Can you Dynamic link an After Effects file so that audio does not interleave into the premiere pro project?   I just want to link the video part of the comp and do not want audio data in my asset.
    *I already know that I can double click the asset in premiere and drag video only from there.   I want to strip audio from the after effects linked asset so when i drag the asset from the bin to the timeline it will not try to add audio also.
    Thanks,
    Cliff

    If you unlink the audio and video in Premiere Pro
    Then you select only the video layer to replace with After Effects Composition
    You'll end up with the Audio automatically turned off in AE when the dynamic link composition is created.
    You get the same result if you leave the audio layer linked but you lock it before enabling the dynamic link.
    The advantage to doing this is that you don't have to mess with audio in After Effects. There is no additional disadvantage to locking or unlinking the audio track because any time you replace elements in PPro with AE compositions the Audio and Video are unlinked. You'll need to re-link them if you plan move the tracks around at all because you loose the out of sync warnings that you'll normally get.

  • Importing from premiere pro cs5 to after effects cs5

    hi, can anyone help me with this problem?
    im editing some stuff in premiere pro cs5 and when i import it into after effects cs5 for colour correction and other effects all the transitions that i had from premiere will disappear. if someone can guide me step by step to this process it will be very helpful
    Thanks,
    Randolph Azzopardi

    As Mylenium suggests, there are many ways to move information between Premiere Pro and After Effects.They are all outlined on this page: "Working with After Effects and Premiere Pro"
    You didn't specify, but I'll assume as he did that you are exporting a Premiere Pro project from After Effects. That works by converting things from native After Effects to their equivalents in Premiere Pro; sometimes there isn't a good equivalent, so the conversion isn't perfect. The same conversion is done as is done for copying and pasting between After Effects and Premiere Pro. There's a set of tables that describe the conversions here.
    The way to get perfect fidelity is to either use Dynamic Link (as Mylenium suggested) or render and export a movie from After Effects and import that into Premiere Pro.

  • Bringing Premiere Pro project into After Effects

    I tried importing Premiere Pro projects to After Effects, but I only got the various files, not the timeline. I just watched a tutorial about Dynamic Link, but when I clicked Adobe Dynamic Link/New After Effects composition in Premiere, I got a layer that was all black, with no sound. I have CS3 Production Premium and Windows XP Media Center SP2.
    Right now, I just want to keep what I edited in Premiere, but I get better quality video if I export it to H.264 MOV in After Effects than anything I've found in Premiere. I can't understand why that's so, but until I find something just as good in Premiere, I want to save everything in After Effects.

    Create a project and a comp. Copy the timeline from Premiere Pro and paste it into the timeline of After Effects.
