Premiere 8 Crashes during Transitions

Everytime I begin pulling transitions between images, the entire program abruptly closes down on me.  I can always manage to get one transition in, it's on the second that things freeze for a moment, then the program crashes.  My system seems to have the necessary requirements, I have enough storage space....does anyone know why this is happening?

I have a 1000GB Hard Drive, used solely for editing and it currently has 361GB free. I defrag it at least weekly.

  • GoPro Cineform files cause Premiere to crash during Media Export

I first  noticed this problem when using a project that had been copied and transcoded with GoPro codec as demonstrated in Dave Henly's helpful video.  The codec is indeed beautiful.
However, 50% to 80% of the time when trying to export a project where there are GoPro files on the timeline, it'll get about halfway through the export before Premiere (or Media Encoder) simply freezes up.
I didn't know what was causing this problem until I was  using one large GoPro-exported video as the new base layer for a project that had otherwise been working perfectly prior to that (using Canon 60D-created .mov files).  Now it was crashing during every export.  On a hunch, I re-exported that base layer as an h264 file and replaced the GoPro video on the timeline, and now the project exports out just fine.
Is this happening to anyone else?  I'm using just the standard 8bit GoPro preset whenever I export out or transcode clips.
I'm using Premiere Pro CC, whatever the up-to-date version number is right now.
    Windows 8.
    24 gb RAM.
    GeForce Titan Black
    Intel Core i7

    Similar problem.
The new feature rendering a ae comp inside premiere timeline is perfect, but using gopro cineform codec crashes premiere on export.

  • Adobe premiere cc crashes during work on mac

Usually, it's this: Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later). It's caused by some methods of updating OS X.
BTW, most people are operating 8.1 with no issues, myself included.
A majority of the issues people are having are updating complex project files from 8.0.1 to 8.1. Please don't update project files or your OS when in the middle of a project. This rule of thumb is very important to safeguarding your project file.
If you must go back to the previous version, please check out my blog post here: Install a previous version of any Creative Cloud application

  • Media Encoder/Premiere Export Crashing During long file exports

I'm running Premiere Pro CC 2014 on a windows 7 computer--a Livestream Studio HD500. I use the computer to capture live video, which is saved as large AVI motion-jpeg files. I need to edit and export these files as compressed h.264 videos for upload to the web.
I am able to import these files into premiere and work with them, but the program crashes to desktop during any long export. I am able to export very short (1 or 2 minute) videos just fine, but anything longer will crash to desktop after a few minutes of processing. Media encoder also crashes when attempting to compress the videos prior to processing.
I have been able to circumvent this problem by compressing the files I'm working with in advance using virtualdub, but it adds an annoying step to the workflow that I'd like to eliminate. Shouldn't premiere be able to import, edit, and export compressed versions of these files without crashing?
Note: I've tried turning off GPU rendering and clearing my cache several times.
    Thoughts? Much appreciated.

    Maybe this problem?

  • Premiere Pro Crashing During Export

    Hi,
I am getting the "Premiere Pro encountered a serious error" message in the middle of an export - over and over. I have tried rendering at 1080p and at 720p. My export gets to around the 1:20 mark (in my 4 minute sequence) and crashes. I have looked at the clip that it's on during crash. Nothing seems to be amiss and I'm able to render those frames for preview in PP. I have Denoiser II and Looks applied to this clip. But, I have Denoiser applied to all of my clips and I have Looks applied to many of them. Every clip up to this point in the sequence renders, no problem.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Steve

When using Export Media, Premiere crashes about 40-60% through the export process. I've tried messing with the settings for days now, and always the same result. This snapshot is probably the 10th-15th attempt at exporting.
    Here's what happens:

  • Premiere CS6 crashes during export

    Hi there,
I am running Premiere Pro CS6 on my (8GB of memory) macbook pro (OSX 10.8.4). New to PP as just switched from FCP. Am trying to export a 2.25hr timeline (rough cut of an indie feature). The files range from ProRes 4444, ProRes 422 HQ, H.264, Jpegs and various audio formats but mostly mp3s (not final quality, just in rough draft mode of the edit). The timeline has 6 video tracks and around 14 audio tracks just in case this makes a difference.
Every time i go to export the file either as h.264 or Prores 422 it renders all the files and then begins the encoding and crashes. Have now tried with Adobe Encoder and tried splitting the film into smaller parts and nothing is working. It crashed less quickly when h.264 was applied to a 20minute clip, but still crashed.
Before the timeline was SO long (2.25hrs) it was exporting 20-30min clips easy.
This is my first time with a complex timeline and i need help trouble shooting this and don't know where to start. Is it my system or corrupted files, or how do you begin to solve such a problem.
Any help is appreciated as i am not technically savvy when it comes to computer errors.
    - Oliver
(PS: if it helps to see the error log let me know and i can put it up)

    Noted re; the log.
Already read over that post prior to posting mine. However my computer is not shutting down, rather Adobe Encoder & Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 are crashing the moment the encoding begins. They render everything up and get ready to Encode. The moment it starts it crashes.
Any thoughts on why this could be happening?

  • Premiere CC Crashes During Splash Screen

I just switched from CS6 to CC about a month ago.  Every time I run Premiere CC it crashes on the first run then starts up the 2nd time.  Never seen this in any of the other Premieres (have CS5 and CS6 on the same machine) or any of the other CC apps (although I mostly run Premiere).
It's kind of annoying.  Any way to stop this?

The combination of the exception code and the faulting module lead me to suspect that the graphics driver is involved. Something doesn't match up. From my little bit of research, 13.251.0.0 is rolled into Catalyst Software Suite 13.12, which was released on 12/18. You report the driver date as 12/6. Could just be that the driver has an earlier date than the CSS.
Here's a post specific to the exception code: http://compfreakstars.blogspot.com/2011/11/0xc0000005-error-every-day-many.html

  • Why is Premiere Pro crashing during a media render?

I have a pretty straightforward project consisting of still photos, some video clips and an audio narration track. It is 55:28:38 long. When I try to export the media, during the render it gets about 28% of the way through and then I get a message that Premiere Pro has stopped working. Any ideas of where I begin to trouble shoot?

  • Premiere Pro crashes during rendering any format

I have the current Premiere Pro CC Version in my 64bit windows 8.1 System. I have a nividia 7800 graphics card with current driver, 16GB ram and intel core i5 3,2GHz.
I did a 10:29 min version of my last holiday and tried to export it and it crashed. .It displayed a message that premiere pro stopped working and I will get a notice as soon as a solution is found.
I Tried to export to different formats and it never worked. I tried to export another shorter video I did (3:29min) and it worked. Both feature soundtrack, titles and so on.
Any idea, what could be the problem ? It did not do this till I bought my trialversion, before that I could export the video. I however also changed on part of the soundtrack and added some titles after registering the version.
What could cause a problem like this ?
    cheers

It does crash everytime at the same time after rendering already 81% of the file. This is the same in Media Encoder and in Premiere pro. There seems to be no entry in the event viewer of windows to this toppic. I also did ne reinstall vie cc cleaner and it did not help.
Can it be that the programm crashes since i have lots of pictures larger 100MB in it ? (Panoramas)
Still any help would be nice
I also created random video files that are larger than 10 min and it works, just this project does not.

  • Premiere 12 crashed during the install at shared technologies

I can't get a clean installation on my windows 8.1 laptop.

    Hi There,
    We’ll try again.
I do not understand why you didn’t get the attachments.
Well, I read your observations and decided to start anew.
I uninstalled all the P 7.0 stuff including preferences and rebooted my machine.
It is a HP Envy running Win 8.1 with the following:
    CPU - Intel I7-4700MQ @ 2.40GHZ
    RAM – 12GB
    Operating System – 64 bit
    Drive – 1TB SATA
    17in Touch Screen
    Not a limp machine.
I installed the P 7 and created a new project.
I imported the 1st of my 96 AVI files and inserted into the timeline.
I imported the other 95 AVI files but they were out of order so I found the 2nd and inserted it into the timeline.
And so on for the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th, where P 7 hung up and finally told me that it could not continue and click OK to exit.
I restarted P 7 and tried to both Open or Start a Project where I got the usual notice that P 7 had run into a problem. Sorry, a serious error has occurred. Etc”.
I am super frustrated at this point and don’t think much of this software or Adobe.

    Christopher Cronk

  • Premiere Elements 11 crashes during playback after adding PiP

I have Adobe Premiere Elements 11, up to date, and Windows 7 home up to date. This is a new problem that just started with my most recent project. I have done these types of edits and PiP's many times with success with the same type of source video formats, etc.
The problem: I add a small clip of video over the main video timeline as Picture in Picture. It adds to the timeline successfully and I can even play it back ok (before rendering). If I add a transition to the front of the PiP, it will crash during playback (pre-render). Or, if I render the timeline before adding the transition, it will also crash during playback once it gets to the PiP.
I tested PiP with still pictures and that works ok, it only crashes on video PiP. I have tested different video formats (from GoPro and from Panasonic camcorder) with the same results (crashes). I have uninstalled Adobe Premiere as well as Quicktime and re-installed them, same results. I am quite frustrated with the constant crashes, especially since I have done a dozen or more videos the same exact way using the same cameras and same types of video files.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Justin

So I created a new project using the project preset "DSLR 1080p30 @29.97". Everything worked fine in that project using the same source videos and doing PiP (tested with both methods).
I opened the project that was giving me problems and the PiP worked when using your approach of dropping the PiP clip onto Video 2 then scaling it down. I then deleted that PiP and re-added it the way I was doing it before, and it crashed the first time I tried to play it back.
I closed down Elements and again tried to reproduce the crash the same way, but this time it worked and did not crash...I tried multiple times to reproduce the crash, sometimes it would, sometimes it wouldn't...
So, I don't know exactly what the problem is. Lastnight I could reproduce the crash every time by either rendering the PiP or adding a transition to the front of it (then playing it back), every time it would crash. Now it is behaving differently.
At any rate, I will start using the correct project settings going forward and know that I can PiP using the other method as well. Maybe the project that is giving me problems is just corrupted or something, I'll toss it an start anew.
