Premiere capturing same audio in two separate tracks

My sequence capture settings (using a Xena LS capture card) are for two audio channels.
Right now I'm recording only with one microphone and have only one track of audio.
But when I'm capturing that single track of audio, it's showing up on both of the audio tracks in the timeline (same audio on two separate tracks).
Is there a setting to change that?
I have the basic settings for two audio tracks just for when I use two mics on separate camera inputs.
But when I record only one track, I would expect it to show-up on only one track in the timeline.
Could this be purely a Xena issue, or  is it the interface between PP and Xena?
Thanks!

Thanks! I haven't used Premiere for about five years, but I remember that it's the way I used to do it.
Same with the Velocity system I used inbetween.
The Xena CS4 plugins just came out, so I'm going to contact them about this issue.
I'll leave this thread open in case someone has the same problem and wants to post it.

  • Configure Trunk carrying same Vlans on two separate uplinks on Cisco 3845

    Hi,
I need to carry 2 vlans(x & y) in a trunk to two separate redundant devices uplinked to Cisco 3845 on Fa1/0 and Fa1/1. I know I can create sub-interfaces on one of the uplink interfaces(i-e Fa1/0) with 2 distinct 802.1q vlans(Fa1/0.x & Fa1/0.y). But is there a way I can carry same vlans(x & y) trunked to my 2nd redundant device uplinked on 3845 from Fa2/0 ? If not then how should I get the 2nd redundant device uplinked to this 3845 router.
    Any tips.. ?
Thanks for your help and suggestions.

IF both links are going to the same device then you can create a Layer 3 Etherchannel.

  • How can I capture Skype audio on a separate channel

I do interviews via skype. I currently use an external mic and USB mixing board and record with Audition CS6. But I want to record the caller's audio on a separate channel. How can I do that? Seems like there should be a way.

Back in the mists of time I did a document about this. It refers to earlier versions of Audition, but that doesn't matter because this is controlled externally from it anyway. It's not the most brilliant document in the world (the diagram is hand-drawn), but you should be able to figure out the basics:

  • Mirror the same audio over two different outputs

    Hi,
I've got a MacMini (late 2009, running Lion) set up in my living room and connected to my HDTV. The audio goes to my amp via the built in digitial audio out and toslink cable.
I recently added a second TV in my bedroom and connected it via the mini display port and a HDMI cable. Unfortunately this version of Mini does not support audio over mini display port so i bought a separate USB audio card. This is connected via a Jack plug to my audio in on my bedoom TV (no amp here, non-digital stereo audio).
I would like to be able to have video and audio in both rooms at the same time. Video is working very well, but the audio does'nt come along. I can only set the audio to one output. I tried to make an Aggregate device, but still the audio sounds over one output. I tried this with both stereo audio (music) and with 5.1 audio.
Offcourse I googled and found that an aggregate device is used for creating multiple channels for audio, not for mirroring.
What i'm looking for, is some kind of setting or software(i hope) that can mirror my audio to both outputs, and if nessecary, format into the right source (5.1 for the toslink and 2.0 for the USB device). Ofcourse, everything needs to be in sync with video and eachother.
    Is there such a thing?
    Thanks for any help offered.

    1) Don't know why this is happening. It may have something to do with
I downloaded from iCloud the same library I was working with
I'm not clear what procedure you're using here. Using a cloud for storage might change some file tags. Generally users I think keep the library on the same drive as the media, keeping the library backups on the system. There is no real benefit in keeping the media in a separate location. Often users will keep the library in the same folder as the media. It makes backing up using tools like Carbon Copy Cloner very efficient.
1a) This can be difficult to find as there sometimes is no obvious indicator. It might be a missing element in a compound clip, a missing or altered layer in a graphics file, a missing font, a missing effect. These will show up inside the item involved, but may not be apparent in the browser. A missing transition for instance will not be seen until you skim over the project or try to export it.
    2) The 43 MB is a small amount of optimized media. This never prevents relinking. The library is always looking for original media, or proxy media if you're in proxy playback. It never looks for optimized media. If it has it, it uses it, if it doesn't, it uses the original media. If you are using original/optimized playback, you must have the original files. The optimized files are not enough.

  • Same artist but two separate 'albums'...?

A few months ago, I bought three tracks from iTunes. I bought the remaining seven tracks this weekend. Now I have two 'albums' in my library, one with three tracks and one with seven. How can I amalgamate the two?

Quick answer:  Select all the tracks on the album, File > get info, and either give them all a single "album artist", or check the "compilation" flag (as in https://discussions.apple.com/message/17670085#17670085).
If these are from multiple-CD sets you may also need to enter the appropriate information in the disc number fields.  If they are not a multiple CD set you still need to make sure the disc number fields are set correctly or all empty.

  • Crossfade audio on two different tracks...

Is this possible? It must be. I have audio and sound effects on several tracks at occasionally want to cross fade them> Can't figure it ou! Thanks.

Not sure if you understand exactly what "crossfade" means. But the control you're looking for is not going to found in using crossfades. It's in setting level keyframes, as suggested, using the pen tool.
    baba e wrote:
How can I put a crossfade between tracks on different levels? Thanks!
Ah. You are using the term "level" to refer to the vertical position of the stacked tracks, Confused me.
Option-click on the audio track and you can adjust it separately from the video track. This isn't as intuitive as you might think and it can get frustrating. If you want perfectly independent control over the audio, unlink the tracks. Be careful that you don not shift the audio horizontally, unsyncing it. When you're done making your adjustments, relink the tracks.

Usually you set up a task that has all the channels from all the modules configured. When a loop starts it reserves that task and the cDAQ can't be used by other loops unless you start and stop tasks.
You can have one loop acquire all the data and if you want certain channels to go to other loops you can use the producer/consumer design pattern. If you wanted a third loop you would add another queue and the third loop would dequeue that data. See attached.

  • How can i execute in the same block diagram two separate labview codes each one with diferent execution timings?

Hello guys. I have been trying to solve this by a long time now...but i cant solve it....
I have my main code in labview beying executed in one timed loop of 1second.....but now i need to pulse a lazer very fast than one second...
my ideia was like executing the lazer pulse code in paralel with the main code but with a mutch faster timed loop....but when i put the second timed loop outside of the main one....it hapens that the aplication keeps runing only the faster loop and the main loop doesnt run....
I really dont know how to solve this....
    many thanks
    JOSE

    JOSE,
your code is really difficult to read. Please do some cleanup work, your diagram should be only little larger than an average computer screen. What I have glanced so far is that your code has a lot of beginner mistakes (overuse of local variables).
For multi-loop applications, you shoul have a look at the tutorials concerning Producer-Consumer design pattern. The quick and dirty approach is to use locals (a bit contradictonary to suggest using locals here after I stated an overuse of them). The drawback will be, that you lose the latch mechanism of the button and must code it on your own (and make a big set of mistakes, using locals always attracts race conditions). Most important is that you write to your button only once, after all loops have finished spinning.

  • Two mono tracks

I think I may have a blind spot, but here goes...
I'm attempting to export an audio clip into Soundtrack Pro, but am unable to because I either recorded/captured the audio as two mono tracks (L & R). Is there a solution to editing the audio in STP, such as creating a stereo track? I'm not especially proficient in sound editing (as my post suggests), but I'm assisting on a project that needs the noise reduction feature in STP badly, and due to the track settings.
    Suggestions, comments?

    hi there,
Select your clip in the sequence and hit alt+l.
Then you can use the sent to soundtrack pro function, wich you can find under File, sent to.
    good luck!

  • How do I join two songs on separate tracks on Garage Band for the MacBook Pro?

I have two songs on two separate tracks that I'm trying to join into one. I highlighted both, but when I select edit, "join" isn't an option.

Just in case you have not found the solution on your own after this long wait -
if your tracks are real instrument tracks, "Join" will not work.
To combine the regions in the two tracks into one,
    silence all other tracks,
select the regions you want to combine with the cycle region,
and then export this partial song to disk.
Reimport the joined audio file and you are done.

  • Premiere Elements 8  - Audio Unsyncronized on Share/Export

Some reason when I export my video, the first 20 seconds are perfectly fine, but then there's one part where the audio for the remainder of my video becomes unsyncronized. This doesn't make any sense though, because the audio and video are linked together, so I couldn't have slightly dragged it to unsync it with the video. Even worse, if I play the video in Premiere, the audio is perfectly synced together. This only seems to happen for the audio that's linked to my video, and not the narration.
I've tried exporting to different formats, but every format has the same result; desynced audio. Any help is appreciated.
    Project settings:
    http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b272/Xebarsis/Specs.jpg

Thank you for the replies; here's the info on the AVI files I use that are being unsyncronized by the audio transitions:
    http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b272/Xebarsis/Codec.jpg
It's video game footage that came from a Nintendo emulator called FCEUX, I use the X-Vid codec because it's the only codec I have that doesn't cause stuttering during recording.
I've shared this same video before, and the audio transitions never caused the audio to become unsynced. Only since I have nearly finished it has the sharing started to cause problems. I tried changing the audio transition from "Constant Gain" to "Constant Power," but it's the same problem. I also tried deleting and putting them back in just to see if it magically fixed it, but no luck. Potentially I could simulate a smooth audio transition by laying the audio tracks over each other on two separate tracks while fading one in and fading out the other, but I use this transition so many times in my video that it would take a super long time to make that happen.

  • Convert two mono tracks into one stereo?

I've imported a clip from my DV camera into Final Cut. For whatever reason, the clip audio is two mono tracks rather than one stereo track. Is there a way for me to convert this to a stereo track after the import?
    Thanks very much,
    Greg
    G5 Dual 2.5 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Select both clips in the Timeline, then go to Modify->Stereo Pair (Option L). But if both clips contain the same audio information, it won't really be stereo ... just two tracks panned left & right.
If you want the audio to come in as stereo when you capture next time, make sure that you have the Capture settings for the audio set to "stereo."

  • How do you bounce a stereo track to make two seperate tracks ?

I have an audio file that is a from a session where I used my Zoom H4N to make a live recording. I've imported it into LPX and would like to bounce the stereo track to two separate tracks. Can you do this in logic? I seem to remember you could in Sonar.   Also, is there anyway to reduce the volume/gain at certain points of a track that briefly peg?
    Thanks...

In the Bounce Window, choose "Split" instead of "interleaved" from the File Type menu to bounce your mix as separate mono files
Regarding the gain correction, use Automation
    Hope that helps

  • Recording separate tracks

My apologies if this has been gone over numerous times - I've spent the past month attempting to get this answer from a variety of sources but have been wholly unsuccessful.
I'm recording vocals and guitar with two separate mics which I then run into a Presonus Firestudio (which has two inputs) which then connects to my laptop.
How do I get the two signals to separate into two separate tracks in Logic? They always combine into one track no matter how much I've played with the Audio Preferences. Do I need to be activating the Bus in some way?
Thanks so much for any assistance,
    Scott

create MONO audio tracks and select "Input 1" for the first and "Input 2" for the second.
Now your two inputs will split to these two mono tracks, which can also be recorded together. If you want to apply stereo FX later, you can use a plugin that has a mono->stereo entry like the stereo delay or the gain utility.

  • How to install two iTunes on same PC for two iPods?

My family now proudly owns 2 iPods, but we only one PC. So it needs to host two iPods, with their resepctive iTunes on it.
I thought this was going to cause problems, and worried that installing iTunes for the most recently purchased iPod would overwrite the existing programme, wipe the music off it and cause my middle daughter to kill me. The guy in the shop said, no problem - create a new User Account and install the new iTunes on that, and it would be OK. So I did.
I got a bit worried when the install prog wanted me to put the new iTunes into the same folder that the old one was in, (even though I was logged in as a different, new user) so I found a new location for it and went ahead.
Guess what - it wiped the old iTunes anyway. When I opened up the old one, it had been overwritten anyhow.
I did a system restore to try and get it back to the previous setting - deleting the new user I had created. And went back into the old version of iTunes to see if the music files had come back. But it wouldn't even run - saying that some files were now missing.
This is doing my head in, it's happened before (and I had to buy Copypod to restore the stuff on my iPod).
How can you get two copies of iTunes on the same PC running two separate iPods?!! And how can I get the overwritten files back?

You don't need two copies of iTunes. There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Have a look at the article linked below. Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries as each account using iTunes will have it's own iTunes Music Folder. Method two is to set your preferences so each iPod is updated with only certain playlists within one library.
