Premiere CC 2014 Crashes on Splash Screen
Hi there,
Running Premiere CC 2014 on Win7x64. A few days ago it began crashing on the startup screen right after attempting to launch the program. I have updated/rolled/back/changed my nvidia drivers (geforce 770) so many times at this point I cannot count...have removed ALL adobe programs and reinstalled, cleared cache, cleared prefs, emptied media cache....feels like I've tried everything.
Have been on the phone with both nvidia AND adobe, who have sent me back and forth a few times. I think it's a Premiere issue because the other cuda accelerated programs I try run just fine.
Help!
Thanks for the response, Mark. One of the crazier things about this is that windows update is also malfunctioning and its service will not initiate when told to do so...it's even set to Auttomatic Delayed start. So this leads me to believe that windows had a failed software update, and Premiere is feeling the effects of that. The only other thing on your list I could that seem logical would be a corrupt user pref setting (#1), however I deleted all prefs when uninstalling all the adobe programs before reinstalling. After 2 hours on the phone with Nvidia I have determined the graphics card is not the issue.
Here's the windows event log:

Adobe Premiere Pro CC Crash on Splash Screen
My Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 is crashing on the splash screen. My Adobe Premiere Pro CC was not crashing until 2014. I am very angry and frustrated this subpar update was forced on us.
I have tried:
Uninstalling and re-installing SEVERAL TIMES
I have tried changing the compatibility issues to windows 7
I have tried running in administration mode
I have started my computer several times
I have tried updating my video drivers
My computer specs:
ASUS G75V gaming laptop
1tb SSD
12g ram
3gb video memory
I have deadlines for clients and this is VERY frustrating!!!!Hey everyone. I'm having the exact same issues. I've been using Premiere Pro CC for over a year, and only just recently started having issues with it. Now, every time I launch it crashes(not responding) before it even gets to the project screen.
I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
Intel i7 4820k 3.70 Ghz Processor
Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 graphics card with the latest drivers. 9.18.13.4052
8 GB of DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
So far I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all graphics drivers as well as Premiere with no luck.
I then uninstalled every single Adobe application, including CC. Then reinstalled CC and Premiere by themselves. Still no luck. -
Illustrator/indesign and premire pro cc 2014 crashes after splash screen
Hi, I can't figure out whats going on, I had CC running fine, the 2014 updates came and all software except photoshop crash after the splash screen. I have done everything I could think of. Verified fonts, I've uninstalled and re-installed creative cloud and the software. I ran adobe cleaner which get rid of the original CC software (I didn't want that to happen) I've deleted preferences, ran disk permissions and repair. CS6 software install and runs.
I am lost to say the least as to why photoshop CC 2014 works and yet, the others crash. Any Ideas?
Thanks.Hi camdude,
Can you send the Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 crash logs to me at [email protected]
The steps to get the crash log are:
1) Open the finder app.
2) Press command +shift + g to open the "Go to the folder" dialog.
3) In the text edit field type "~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports".
4) This will take you the DiagnosticReports folder.
5) Please share the latest crash log file from this folder.
With Best Regards,

Premiere Pro CC crashes at splash screen
Hello everyone. Having a problem that I hope someone can help me resolve.
This morning I restarted my workstation and when it rebooted I was unable to launch Premiere Pro CC. It gets stuck on the purple splash screen that normally loads all of the assets. After a while, it says "Premiere Pro CC is not working" and gives me a crash log. I'll post the crash log but first I'll list some of the things i've tried to fix this..
1. Restart the computer
2. Update all drivers
3. Run Premiere in compatibility mode and as an admin
4. Reinstall Premiere
5. Adobe tech support used remote acces to replace the file "dvamarshal.dll" in my Premiere folder (but it still doesn't work)

Fresh install, doesn't matter what I do to this machine, memcheck came out ok. I click on Premiere Pro CS3 icon loads splash screen, then kicks out an error code.

Premiere Pro CC hangs on splash screen "loading ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle"
Premiere Pro CC hangs on splash screen "loading ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle"
This happened before when I had CS6. I'm now using CC and haven't had problems until now. I again get the hang up while loading. Previously I trashed the loading ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle file and this solved the problem.
I tried to contact support. I thought my subscription to CC included support, apparently not.
Anyone else have this Problem?
BrianThanks for the response Kevin.
I tried repairing permissions.
I recently installed OSX 10.8.4 but I've been succesfully using PP since then. PP is up to date v7.0.1
I have read the other forum posts on this.
Again, this problem cropped up using PP CS6, but I was able fix it using this procedure:
1. Go to Applications
2. Go to Adobe Premiere CS6
3. Right click on the application and click on “Show Package Contents”
4. Go to Contents –> Plug-ins –> Common
5. Move the following files to the desktop: ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle and ImporterQuicktimeHost.bundle
6. Restart Adobe Premiere CS6 and it will successfully open up
This no longer fixes it.
I desperately need to get back to work.
Even though I feel Adobe support should be included in a CC subscription, I'm considering purchasing Adobe Bronze support with a max wait time of 4 hours and only alloted phone calls for $175
thanks anyway -
Premiere CC - Crash on splash screen - Tried the usual solutions
Premiere CC crashes immediately upon the splash screen appearing.
I've tried everything I've read here that might work:
Reinstalling
Clearing the preferences in the AppData folder
Signing out and logging back in to CC
Restarting the computer
Updating the video card
Changing language preferences
Still nothing.

The "Faulting Module Path" (amdocl64.dll) led me to this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1343944?tstart=0. The solution recommended there is to delete that dll file from C:\Windows\system32\. -

Premiere CC Crashes During Splash Screen
I just switched from CS6 to CC about a month ago. Every time I run Premiere CC it crashes on the first run then starts up the 2nd time. Never seen this in any of the other Premieres (have CS5 and CS6 on the same machine) or any of the other CC apps (although I mostly run Premiere).
It's kind of annoying. Any way to stop this? The combination of the exception code and the faulting module lead me to suspect that the graphics driver is involved. Something doesn't match up. From my little bit of research, 13.251.0.0 is rolled into Catalyst Software Suite 13.12, which was released on 12/18. You report the driver date as 12/6. Could just be that the driver has an earlier date than the CSS.
Here's a post specific to the exception code: http://compfreakstars.blogspot.com/2011/11/0xc0000005-error-every-day-many.html -
So one day, out of the blue, After Effects stops wanting to open. The worst part is, I can't think of any changes that would have caused this.
I am running After Effects CS5.5 (10.5.1) on my MacBook Pro 13" (Early 2011), which is running Mac OSX Lion. Here is my system profile (with some sections omitted).
Just a few weeks ago, I began to consistently receive this message during the AE splash screen:
After Effects Alert
Last log message was: <140735295236448> <ASL.ResourceUtils.GetLanguageIDFromRegistry> <0> Unable to obtain the User 'Language' registry key at: Software\Adobe\After Effects\10.5.1\ Defaulting to 'en_US'.
Here is a crash log.
Any ideas?
First attempt
I figured maybe I had a bad preference file, so I cleared my prefs. Nothing changed aside from a modified error message:
After Effects Alert
Last log message was: <140735295236448> <DynamicLink> <5> 0x114ee8418
And a crash log.
Also, if I try opening AE again, after I cleared my prefs and opened it once, the error message returns to the "registry key" alert.
Second, third, fourth attempt
So I uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects about 3 times. No change. I used the latest download from Adobe, and the original Master Collection image: no difference.
Fifth attempt
I created a second admin account to see if this was an isolated issue. It isn't; same problem.
Sixth attempt
I thought about QuickTime, so I opened up System Prefs, and uninstalled Perian. I left the prefpane there though.
Also, I have the latest version of Java.
Seventh attempt (Added 19 March 2012)
I used the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool to wipe out my entire Adobe installation. I still have the same problem after a reinstall. I'm going to try installing AE on my external drive next. This is really frustrating. Has anyone experienced this issue and found a resolution?
Notes
Interestingly enough, all of the other Abobe CS5.5 apps I installed work fine:
Bridge
Photoshop
Illustrator
InDesign
Premiere Pro
OnLocation
Extension Manager
Added 1:54PM, 13 March 2012:
Also, opening up the render engine causes the same error message.I just installed AE, have never used it, and am seeing it bail on startup with the same odd language registry key error. Please see my post on a related thread.
Any luck here? Would be nice to get AE to boot so I could evaluate it. -
After Effect CS6 crashes after splash screen
I cannot get After Effects to open. When I try to open the software, I get a splash screen, and then the window opens, but the it stops responding before the interface can appear. I thought the issue may have been my virus protection (norton), so I tried shutting down my firewall and restarting my computer. This seemed to work for me the first time I tried it; After Effect opened and everything seemed to work fine, but the next time I started the computer and opened the software it continued to crash, and what I thought was the solution no longer worked. Premiere, Photoshop, and Audition work fine. However, the trial version of FX Home's software, Hitfilm 2, gives me the same problem as well. I have tried alot to get both of these programs to work with no success. I would appreciate any suggestions as to how I might fix this.
Computer spec:
win 7 64-bit
intel i7 960 3.2ghz
12 gb ddr3
nvidia 560 tiUpdated to 310.7 from 306.97, but still no luck. When after effect stops responding there is sometimes a dialog box asking me if I want to send my information. This dialog box does not always appear every time I try to open after effects, but when it does, this is the additional information it gives me:
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\WER9F1C.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml
C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\WER193B.tmp.appcompat.txt
C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\WER19AA.tmp.mdmp
However I can't find these files on my computer. This is also the same information I get when trying to open FX Home's software, except when I try to open that software I do not get a splash screen or window, the .exe shows up for a few seconds in the task manager and disappears. -
I am on a new macbook pro and my premiere pro cc keeps crashing on the splash screen when it reads "importerQuicktime.bundle" I have already uninstalled and reinstalled and changed permissions and nothing is working! please help!

Premiere CC 2014 crashing apparently with no reason
Hi again,
I had many issues in the past with PP crashes but this time i really can't imagine why this is going on..anyway...
I am working with full hd footage from my Fuji X-Pro1, the timeline is about 1 minute long.. short trailer but big problems: crashes are recurring (about 15 just today) that is annoying.
I have already searched for similar questions and I have just tried to change the render mode to Mercury Playback, deleted cache and previews, restart the os, update PP.....anything with NO visible result: now I can't even work more than five minutes that PP does crash.
Here is my setup and the last report from console.
MacBook Pro2012
OSX 10.8.5
2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Any idea on what's going on? I just need to work and finish this blessed trailer.
Thank you!
M.

1 libsystem_c.dylibHi, Arjun,
My OSX version is 10.9.2 and I'm using only a Red Giant plug in in two short clips, and a RED Giant transition. I have the newest Red Giant Plug in Versions (for the Premiere Pro 2014 update), they worked fine in Premiere pro CC.
Is there a way to take the Premiere Pro CC 2014 project to Premiere Pro CC?
Many thanks. -
Here are my MacBook Specs:
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)
2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
480 GB Solid State SATA Drive
750 GB SATA Disk
I use "Adobe Dynamic Link" mainly for typography and some animation, but not to the point where it would stress out Premiere CC 2014.Chris,
It doesn't crash for everyone. A person could be forgiven for saying, in return, "Please sort out your **** system problems".
Trust me when I say many, many problems are caused by the computer system setup not being up to the needs of this cutting-edge graphics software. Photoshop is heavily dependent on the GPU, and GPU drivers are notorious for having bugs (they're primarily written to run games).
However, that being said, recent driver releases from both ATI and nVidia do actually work pretty well with Photoshop CC 2014.
What video card do you have?
What display driver version are you running?
If you're unsure how to tell these things, go into Photoshop, choose Help - System Info, copy the data, and post it here.
