Premiere CC 2014 - Magic Mouse issues?

I know most professionals might prefer not using Apple's Magic Mouse for professional applications, but I happen to kind-of like the mouse.
However, since using the latest version of Premiere CC 2014, I've noticed some very erratic behavior with the Magic Mouse. Click-dragging to move clips on my timeline doesn't always work. Sensitivity is delayed in zooming in on the timeline. Scrolling lags. Etc. etc.
Anyone else have any issues using the Magic Mouse? All my other non-Adobe applications seem to be working fine with this mouse, though I have notice some similar sensitivity issues with the mouse in Illustrator and InDesign.
I'm hoping there will just be a bug fix or something, as I've been having to resort to using a wired mouse, which is a clunky fix.

EXACT SAME THING HERE  Can't find answer !!
drag and drop clip is ssssooooooooooooo frustrating !!
I have to use a usb mouse for premiere and magic mouse for e-mail and other stuff...
unacceptable !
I discovered that what makes it not to work is simply the horizontal scroll of the "middle button". if you click, start draging a clip and your finger move of half of 1mm, then it just end the move there... same for rectangle selection !
hate that !
I'm getting pain in the arm because I switch mouse all the time and they are obviously not the same speed and this change my work flow and lot of stuff ! This is a tiny problem causing huge problem !!

  • Magic Mouse issues after updating to iTunes 11

    Hi,
Just updated to iTunes 11, and immediately after installing I have been losing Bluetooth connection to my Magic Mouse.  This usually happens when I click on an icon in my dock to launch an App.  Specifically, most often when I am launching iTunes.  I've ruled out a battery issue, as I've replaced them and it doesn't make a difference.  I've even cleared my PRAM at startup (CMD+OPT+P+R at startup), since I saw this suggested for similar Magic Mouse issues not related to iTunes. Resetting the ram made no difference in my case.
I've had the Magic Mouse for 2+ years, and this has never been an issue before.  In fact, I've never had any connection issues with the mouse that weren't related to weak batteries, and everything was working great until I installed iTunes 11.  Just wondering if others have had this issue since upgrading to iTunes 11, and if so, how it was corrected?
    Thanks.

Hi, I've not had this issue, but iTunes 11 does seem to be doing something to my Magic Mouse. For example within iTunes 11 I can no longer swipe forwards and backwards. Not sure if there is some kind of hitch with the new iTunes software and the Magic Mouse firmware?

  • Mac Pro Magic Mouse issue 2013

I'm starting this thread to try to get some current information on what seems to be a long time problem. My church media dept upgraded to a Mac Pro from a 2006 G5 two weeks ago and out of the box the magic mouse is jumpy, lags and disconnects. I thought the mouse was an issue so I brought a blue tooth mighty mouse from home to get by. It acted the same way. The only conclusion could be the bluetooth function of the Mac Pro.
I did my homework and found evidence of this problem all the way back to 2009. Gotta say I'm disappointed in Apple to have an issue unresolved this long. I'm quite the mac evangelist and this is hard to defend. I have read all kinds of solutions from rewiring the antenaes, installing external antenaes, USB plugins, etc. Most of these solutions are quite dated so I was wondering what the 2013 fix is for this issue. Preferably without having to buy something else after spending 3500 dollars on a machine that should just work!
I have a magic mouse at home on a mini and we have a mini at the church that we bought at the same time as the Mac Pro and the magic mouse works on that. So clearly this is isolated to the Mac Pro.

yep-you're right. However, Apple does NOT read this community forum, Ever. So, posting complaints about Apple here will do you no good. That being said.... there is no
"2013" solution, as the Mac Pro may not be Apple's current priority. I use a usb to BT adapter from Iogear which seems to work fine (it's the 421, the 521 will work with Moutain Lion only). I also bought a MS mouse because my wired mighty mouse bit the dust. I think I paid $40 for it. It came with its own adapter. It's an Explorer touch mouse if that helps. It also came with its own dongle, plugged into the usb port.  It has worked fine.
Those are the  known "solutions" : check to see if the Mac pro has an airport card, and where the BT antenna is plugged in, maybe try an external antenna (the G5 used to have one, I know) or a USB dongle. I've heard that removing the battery cover on the mouse helps. Why? I don't know

  • Magic Mouse Issue

Hello, I've recently installed Snow Leopard, and encountered the dreaded problem of the magic mouse. It will not scroll and be properly detected as a bluetooth mouse on my system.
I've tried everything in this topic : http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2383403
At one point it was working properly then I got this message on startup:
    *System Extension Cannot be used*
+The system externsion "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleBluetoothMultitouch.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update"+
Now, I'm stuck with a two button mouse. Does anyone have this kext file ? Or a possible fix to solve this annoying issue ? I would be forever grateful.

I´m having a similar thing, no error message, though.
The mouse does not do any scrolling etc, only left + right click.
Can´t install the "WirelessMouseSoftware", the installer says there´s a later version of this software already installed...

  • Bluetooth Magic Mouse Issues (OS X Yosemite 10.10.3)

Upgrade to 10.10.3 has made Magic Mouse unusable other than for the first few minutes following reboot.  Have tried all suggested fixes including reset of NVRAM, SMC & turn off/on Bluetooth.  Keyboard and track pad don't appear to have the same issues.  Mouse works fine initially and after reset, but once applications (i.e. Mail, Safari, Calendar, etc.) are opened, device loses connection and connection won't re-establish for 10-15 minutes.  Replaced all batteries to new & also deleted and repaired Bluetooth devices to see if that would fix.
USB Mouse works without issue, but lacks functionality of Magic Mouse so looking for a solution.

    Hey. I just fixed it
    Try this
    go to your library/preferences/
    find the folder "SystemConfiguration"
make a back up on your desktop then delete it from library/preferences/
restart computer ( your mac will remake those files)
    viola working bluetooth and wifi

  • Screen maginified and jumps around. Magic mouse issues

All of a sudden my magic mouse will zoom things without my command. It has magnified my screen so the whole screen (desktop) is not visible at one time and I can't figure out how to put it back the way it was. In the meantime, when I move the move everything jumps around. HELP! What is going on?

Sorry, I don't think you understand the problem I'm having. The mouse acts on its own all of a sudden. For example I will be in an application and just move the mouse (without touching the keyboard or attempting to click anything) and the screen will zoom to 400%. Now my desktop screen is so zoomed in that the top or bottom is missing. So when I move the mouse the whole screen jumps up and down or from side to side. No amount of tinkering in System Preferences has fixed it. Changing the screen resolution makes it worse actually. Holding the Control key on the desktop just brings up the menu for the desktop. It does nothing.
I've read that there are issues with the magic mouse. I guess that would be correct.

  • Apple magic mouse issues

i am on my second magic mouse. Neither work properly. The mouse loses connection and I am continually having to turn it off and on.The graphics shutter.

How long have you had your latest mouse.   Was it new when you purchased it?    What brand of batteries is it using?    Are these batteries new?    Have you tried cleaning the terminals inside of the battery compartment?

  • New wireless Touch Magic Mouse issues

OK so I just my BRAND NEW wireless magic mouse from mac only to find out it does NOT work with my unibody macbook pro!!
I read where I need Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0 or Snow Leopard 10.6.2. I have version 10.6 on my laptop now but there are NO software updates available. I can use the basic features of any wireless mouse which are to track and click but no touch features work at this time.
Is there a fix for this now or do I have to wait until Apple make the update available for download?

I believe this is the update you need:

  • Magic Mouse-issue opening files in Preview

Previous mightly mouse allowed me to open desktop files in Preview with one click. Magic mouse requires a right click to open menu and then click on 'Preview'.  Am I missing something?

I doubt it was ever with one click.  Should have been a double click.  And that translates into a left click in a "2-button" mouse which basically a MM is (unless extended with various utilities).  So do a Finder Get Info on one of the documents in question.  Look at the Get info's "Open with" section and set the popup menu accordingly.  Click Change All button.  Now when you double click all such files it will open with the selected application.
Note you maight also want to check you mouse system preferences to confirm the "secondary" (right) click is indeed defined as being on the right.

  • IMac/Magic Mouse issue with multiple iMacs.

I bought two new imacs last month with wireless Magic Mice.  The mice one both of them keep having communication issues.  I returned them to the genius bar and they replaced them.  I'm still having the issue.  I keep having to reset the SMC for them to work, but they only work temporarily.  I've also tried zapping the PRAMs  Any suggestions?

Do a search of this forum, Just look down this page for two or three other posts with the same theme. Many folks report the issue. Many folks report different ways of solving it for themselves.
I have had the MM for three weeks now without one issue. I am even experimenting with BetterTouchTool for added utility of my MM.

I've noticed today that the 'swipe' gesture feature stopped working. A restart fixed it but was wondering if there is a fix for this. Don't want this happening again...

  • Magic mouse right click issue

I just bought the new iMac 3 weeks ago with the magic mouse which I LOVE. But in the past week I have lost the right click function 3 times now. It acts like the right click option is turned off, which I verified and tried to reset and set back which didn't work.
The only way to reactivate the right click function is to reboot the machine entirely. I also tried to turn off and back on the mouse which didn't work and I had to get another mouse to even reboot after that!
The only thing that has changed is that I installed VMWARE fusion (which is hella cool!) and transferred my old XP image to. It seems to stop working after i have been using my XP or Win7 virtual machine after a while. Not always the case but the only thing I can think of that has changed or I am doing differently.
Any help on the subject would be great! Even a work around to get it working again without rebooting the machine would help.
Thanks in advance for you help!
    Jay

I'm not sure what all of those startup items do, but since none are obvious suspects, what you may want to do is remove them all (except iTunes Helper). In order to add them back later, you can right-click on each item and select +Reveal in Finder+, to see where the item is located. Note down the locations.
After you remove them from the +Login Items+ list, restart (or log out and log back in). Those login items should not be running anymore. See if that resolves the Magic Mouse issue. If it did not, you can add the items back. If it did resolve the problem, I guess you'll have to find the culprit by going to the locations noted earlier and starting one item up at a time, until the Magic Mouse problem returns.
Separately (you can try this first), when I make a change to my mouse settings (although I don't have a Magic Mouse), this is the preference file that changes
    <user home folder>/Library/Preferences/com.apple.driver.AppleHIDMouse.plist
In case that file is corrupted in some way that prevents the right click from being set, move it to the Desktop. Then go to System Preferences Mouse pane and set it up as desired, including the right click. A new preference files should be created. See if the mouse now works properly.
Those are the two approaches I would take initially, checking the login items and the most obvious user preference file.

  • Magic Mouse jumping, lagging etc (Lion OS, Macbook Pro) cure!

I cured all my bluetooth Magic mouse issues when I switched my 2.4 wifi channel back to any other channel but 12, this seems to clash horrifically with my magic mouse.
    Cause-
A virgin media guy changed the channel during a routine service call saying it was the best channel and one he recommended. He then used the magic mouse via my mac to do a speedtest (60Mb Superhub) in an attempt to consolidate his changes only to condemn my new mouse by saying "mmmm your mouse is very laggy" and also saying he didnt like any Apple products.
As soon as he went I changed channel back and my mouse is 100%.
    Cure-
Avoid Channel 12 on a wifi routers- it competes with Apple Bluetooth...

Oh and by the way, it's part of the bluetooth favorites.
