  • Premiere Pro CC crashing on brand new Mac Pro (late 2013)

Such a big disappointment, yesterday our brand new Mac Pro (Late 2013) with OS X version 10.10.2 was installed and Premiere Pro CC is constantly crashing. One of the problems is that when I open a brand new project and before I add any content to a new sequence I just want to position the video track higher so I can see more audio tracks, the program crashed. I did it several times (new projects, new sequences) every time the same crashing program.
Deinstalled Premiere Pro and reinstalled it again, but no luck.
Tomorrow I created a whole new account with administrator rights on the Mac, the issue as described above was gone but at some point in time the program crashed again, and when I reopen the project, with two sequences open (one with footage and one empty) and I want to close the empty one, Premiere is crashing again. So I can't continue my work on this project and need to start over again....
This is the error report that I'm getting....
I hope somebody can help me on this because it's very frustrating...
    Thanks in advance

  • Adobe Premiere Pro crashes on video preview

    Hello,
I was recently working on a project and had Premiere Pro opened, then I had to update my video card drivers, because I had all sort of visual glitches in my games, occasionally when watching movies and the drivers were completely crashing every now and then. At some point during the update my screen went all azure-colored and my computer was completely non-responsive, so I had to restart it, after some waiting. After which the drivers appear to have been installed correctly but when I tried to start Premiere it crashed after loading my project. After a reinstall the same thing kept on occurring, it turned out premiere can start by itself with no problems and even import video files, but the moment I put the video file on the preview window, either by dragging it or by putting it in the timeline, Premiere crashes.
My stupid video card is "SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X R9 270X 2G G5", like I said I updated the drivers, because it was causing problems, it is still uncertain if the update fixed those issues, but now I have a problem with Premiere, which was working fine before that.
I also cleared the media caches, no effect. The crash occurs with any video file, not just with my last project.
    Any ideas?

Will do, however in the meantime I found out Premiere works fine if in a new project I set the rendering to be only software, without the GPU, also in all cases audio import, preview and playback are unaffected.
I was sort of hoping I could play games AND rend video, what are the chances of that?

  • Adobe Premiere CC Crashes When Selecting Multiple Clips

This project was already derailed by multicam, now that I've got my assembly edit ready to go, I've discovered a new show-stopper:  Premiere Pro CC crashes when I select multiple clips on the timeline.  I can't select more than 3 clips at a time, or the entire program comes crashing to it's knees.  Anyone else experiencing something like this?  Can anyone else reproduce this behavior?
Here's a video of the experience:
    http://youtu.be/DPOUinOSzDE
    Any word on an update?
    ASUS G75VX
    Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit
    GTX 670MX, 3GB GDDR5
    16GB RAM

Progress.  I've been able to isolate the problem.  On my timeline I have some "regular" clips and some "merged" clips.  Regular clips are from either source: a Canon 7D (MP4 / MOV) or a Canon VIXIA HF G20 (AVCHD).  The Merged clips are only from the Canon 7D only (for video) and an audio recorder (MP3 at 320kbps).  The 7D footage is 1080/24p.  The VIXIA also shoots in 24p.
Since "Merge Clips" sync on audio is not working for me, I've employed my former CS6 workflow:
    1. Sync all of the video and audio clips through PluralEyes 3 resulting in a preliminary sequence, "Clips_to_be_merged_sequence".
    2. I work my way through each of the clips, adjusting the audio track(s) for variances in drift between the on camera sound and the audio recorder.  I do this enabling "Audio Time Units", rather than video frames, so I can get extremely acurate.
    3. When I have a timeline full of nicely syncronized audio/video pairs, I merge clips, one painstaking clip at a time (of course I set up a keyboard shortcut for this).  For the merge, I "sync on In points".
    4. The merged clip is added to my project panel.
    5. Now, when it comes time to choose my sound bite selects, I load the merged clip into the Source panel and mark my Ins and Outs.
    6. Time to create a subclip, of course with the new SOFT handles. (I'VE BEEN WANTING SOFT HANDLES FOR A LONG TIME!!!)
    7. The subclip appears to be properly created and placed into the Project panel.  It even shows the correct duration (i.e. 14 seconds)
    8.  When I drag that subclip onto the timeline it drags the entire length of the parent clip, without in or out points (not just the 14 second subclip).
    9.  I undo and decide to go back through the original clips again; mark ins and outs and simply drop to the timeline (either Insert or Overwrite).
So in the end, I'm using sections of the Merged clip, but I'm not using Subclips of the Merged clips (because that doesn't work).
Now, what's happening, though I didn't know it when I recorded the video above, is that Premiere is crashing any time I select both "regular" footage and "merged" footage.
    So, two bugs here:
    1. Can't use Subclips that are derived from Merged clips in ANY timeline.  Once dragged to the timeline it expands to the full duration of the original clip.
    2. Can't select both "regular" and "merged" clips at the same time on the timeline.
JStrawn (staff) was kind enough to offer to take a look at some small sample files.  But my interview clips are very long, and I'm concerned that if I export them, to make them shorter, they may not actually exibit the problems I'm having on the original clips.
Anyone else using this type of "Merge Clip" workflow that could reproduce either the subclip-from-merged-clip bug or the mixed-selection crash given the steps above?

  • Premiere Pro CC and the New Mac Pro (2014)

I'm expecting delivery soon of a new Mac Pro, nicely loaded, which I purchased mainly because of all the work I do with video. Yet, I read in a review that Adobe Premiere Pro isn't optimized to take advantage of the new Mac Pro, won't run faster, and I'm better off using Apple's Final Cut.
    1. Is this true?; and
    2. If so, will Premiere Pro be updated any time soon to run best on a 2014 Mac Pro?
My new Mac Pro will have the following configuration:
    3.5GHz 6-core with 12MB of L3 cache
    32GB (4x8GB) of 1866MHz DDR3 ECC
    1TB PCIe-based flash storage
Dual AMD FirePro D700 GPUs with 6GB of GDDR5 VRAM each

My main problem is that when i export using gpu open gl it crashes hard boot the mac pro. A 3 min timeline with 4k footage n a bunch of color grading.  I get lucky if the timeline is shorter. But i think it is a gpu issue n my mac must be fixed. Currently under apple tech support. N my case is unique. No one has had the same issue and that makes it harder for me to figure the isse and to apple figure the issue.
If i export using software only mercury then the export goes smoothe no mattrr how long. But that defeata the point of owning a mac pro with 2 GPUs

I have had my 12 core 2014 Mac Pro for a couple of weeks now, and I'm not very impressed with Premiere CC performance with 4K R3D on a 1920 x 1080 timeline.
I understand that there may be an update soon that will take adantage of the CPU's and GPU's when it comes to the complex task of de-bayering the R3D footage, but it's just not there now.
I get similar playback performance to what I experienced on my 09 Mac Pro tower.
Any insights on getting better playback performance in this scenario would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • Premiere Pro CC and the new Mac Pro - are all upgrades necessary?

Monday I'm ordering the new Mac Pro because my Mid 2012 Mac Pro tower is simply too slow and crashy no matter how much money I sink into it. Thing is, every little upgrade I add onto this new Mac Pro is very expensive, so I want to make sure I don't add anything that won't make a difference in edit performance.
My ultimate goal is to be able to work with 4k, and even 5k footage in 2014. More and more clients are giving me Red media, and my system right now can't handle it (I have to render proxy files for everything).
Attached are my hardware upgrade options for my processor and graphics card. These options can only be offered when I order the computer. Neither the processor or the GFX card can be changed by me later. Note that these options alone almost double the computers's price (3600). As of now I assume that getting the fastest everything is the way to go, but is there any reason I should not go this high?

  • My Premiere CS3 crashes when I am exporting anything.

Premiere CS3 crashes on my HD project Most of the video i am working with is from the new 5D   The files are as I recorded them on the camera there have been no conversion done to them. when ever I try to export anything out of premiere it crashes and windows Vista 64 crashes with it showing a blue screen and restarting the computer.  I don't know whats the problem. I think it mite be my hard drives or something on the hardware end.
    I am running
E8500 processor with 4 gb of ram DDR3 1600 Asus P5Q3 mob and Ati 4890 graphic card also I have 2 big hardrives and two 500gb drives on Raid.

BSOD can also point to heat, bad RAM, MoBo issue or power supply not adequate, along with Jeff's suggestions.
This ARTICLE might point you in the right direction.
I cannot recall if that article mentions Speedfan, but if it IS a heat issue, that will help you sort it out.

  • Premiere Elements crashing upon start up

I have transferred my application of Premiere Elements 11 to my new iMac OS 10.9.2 but it will not open up.  It starts the process but then it crashes every time.  What can I try?

    islantweet
Lots of just in case questions...
    a. When your older iMac fried, did it trap your Premiere Elements 11 in it so that you could not deactivate it and uninstall it? Adobe allows for the same purchased serial number to be on no more of two of your computers. If this is the case, Adobe should be able to help you clear your account so that you do not have an activated program trapped on an unusable computer. If this applies to you, contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat on the topic of "Serial Numbers Issues or Activating My Product". Click on the following link and, when it opens, click on "Still Need Help? Contact Us." to bring up the Adobe Chat to work on the topic.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=premiere-elements&topic=serial-number-issues-o r-activating-my-product
    b. Why are do describing these transfer paths for the Premiere Elements 11 Mac installation on the new computer? Did you purchase Premiere Elements 11 in boxed packaging so that you have a Mac installation disc or did you purchase Mac installation files from a download from Amazon? If you have a purchased serial number for Premiere Elements 11 Mac, you can install from tryout files from the following web site and then insert your purchased serial number in them.
The key to success for this route is to read very carefully the "Note: Very Important Instructions" on that web page so that you do not receive an Access Denied message.

  • Premiere CS3 crash

    Hi all,
First I'm french, so excuse me for my poor english ; i hope you can help me solve my trouble anyway. :)
I'm running Adobe Production Premium on a Windows XP 64 based workstation. As XP 64 has a virtual 32 bits layer, I could install and run each software with no trouble, except Premiere Pro and Encore (which seems like connected to Premiere).
I know that CS3 products are not designed to run on 64bits systems, and that support is not provided by Adobe on 64bits systems, but they advised me to post on this forum by phone ; so y try :)
When I launch Premiere Pro, there is a window that asks if I want to create a new project or open an old one. As soon as I click on "New Project" and give details about it, Premiere Pro crashes. It seems like it crashes when loading the timeline or something like that.
Windows log files say that ntdll.dll crashed, but I couldn't find any link between these 2 troubles.
I really hope that someone will manage to help me.
    Kind regards,
    Raphael, France

    >As soon as I click on "New Project" and give details about it, Premiere Pro crashes.
    Try this:
Go to your "My Documents" folder and find the Adobe\Premiere Pro\3.0\Layouts folder. Move it to your Desktop. Be sure to move it, not copy it. Do the same thing for the Archived Layouts folder.
Launch Premiere Pro again. It will build new layouts for you.
If that fixes the crash, then delete the folders on your desktop. You will have to rebuild any custom workspaces that you had.
If it doesn't fix the crash, then put the folders on your back where they came from so you don't lose any of your custom workspaces.

I have a Time-lapse sequence which I have just built and saved the project of, but my cursor has stopped on the time-lapse sequence. Premiere Pro does crashes when I open my project because the cursor is stuck on the time-lapse sequence.
My project was saved in Premiere Pro with the cursor stuck on my new time-lapse sequence. Now, Premiere Pro crashes when I try to open the project....Please help URGENTLY?

    >It may be a corrupt font, but I have thousands installed. Is there any way to test for that?
Reply #8 was specifically to address this question.
    >I basically wanted to know if this is a 3.2.0 issue or not.
That's not what you asked. Perhaps asking a specific question will get you closer to a specific answer?
The titler does not crash for me at any stage of the Adobe updates for Premiere Pro, including 3.2.
