• Premiere CS4 crash when import

Hi.
I'm having trouble with premiere. I start it and when i import file, it imports, and then strarts workin and freezes.. I'm using Mac Leopard 10.5.6, QuadCore q6600, 4gbRAM, 620GB sata2 hdd, gef9400gt..
It's quite annoying i cant edit my jobs, could someone help me?
thx

Don't think that the machine specs did attach, or not that I could see.
Since you're on a Mac, I'd *guess* that you're working with .MOV files. Please furnish all the details fo those files. The CODEC's contained within the .MOV wrapper are necessary. Also, can you tell us where the files came from? This might yield a clue, about them. Did you Capture from a tape-based camera, via PrPro, or other?
The more detail that you can furnish, the better. Some of your problem might be Mac-specific, but some might not. For the Mac-specifc stuff, you'll need a Mac user to help. For the rest, maybe some of the PC folk can assist you.
Good luck,
Hunt
[Edit] Harm's comment in the other thread on having one HDD is a good one, regardless of Mac, or PC.

• Premiere 11 crashes when importing large video files

I am running Premiere Elements 11 on Windows 8. When I attempt to use "Add Media" to import a 1 hour and 15 minute .wmv from my harddrive, Premiere freezes up and is forced to quit. There is no error message or anything, it simply locks up and becomes unresponsive until I force quit it. I have tested other .wmv files made by the same software (a game recording program) which are much shorter and they have imported without any trouble. My assumption is that the issue has to do with the length of the file, then. Any ideas?
My computer:
64-bit Microsoft Windows 8 Pro
Processor
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz, 3501 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM)
16.0 GB
Video Card
AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series

Thanks for your response. The file was created with a program called D3DGear. It is capable of recording in other video formats, but I haven't attempted to use any of them yet. This and another .wmv from the same program both fail to import into Premiere Elements 11, both over an hour in length. Other, shorter .wmv files created by the program work fine.
The computer is only a couple of months old, so everything is up-to-date and should be pretty optimized.
Below is what I got out of the MediaInfo program. I've never used it before so hopefully this is what you need.

as soon as I drag it, it crashes Idvd.
I have 20 gigs free,

as soon as I drag it, it crashes Idvd.
Have you tried making a smaller short movie from keynote and using it in iDVD?
What is the filename of the .mov file ?
I assume the .mov file plays fine in QT?

• Premiere Pro CC crashes when importing media.

Premiere Pro CC crashes when importing media. Every time. Driving me crazy.
It crashes as soon as the Windows dialogue box comes up.
Does it in new projects and in a project I created and imported into just fine 2 days ago.
Have rebooted.
Running Windows 8.1 on Samsung Series 5 ultrabook Intel i5 - not too sure what else to say about other settings:
I did have a problem the other day when Windows was crashing when browing a large folder of largish images and video clips but it went away when I put images and videos in separate folders.

Thanks for reply.
Point taken but I've been using it for over a year for simple edits (5 min films) in PPCC just fine. Can't even do what I could do the other night now.
Simple folder with a few jpegs and movies in it. In fact it just crashes before I even got to another folder.

• Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 crashing when importing HDV Video

For some reason I keep getting crashes when importing HDV (720p60) video into the timeline of Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. This has happened on two different machines, with similar specs.
Per the suggested guidelines, here are the specifics:
Version of Premiere Pro: CS6, Version 6.0.5 (001 (MC:264587))
All updates have been installed.
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.8.5.
Source footage: HDV 720p60 video in .MOV container.
Full text of error message: "Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."
Link to full crash report: http://goo.gl/Gn8Bzn
Crash occurs when trying to import HDV .MOV file.
This is a consistent problem when importing .MOV files of this type.
Complete Adobe Creative Suite is installed. Also using Episode Pro encoding software from Telestream to prepare HDV video. No other external video hardware or codecs installed.
Yes, I am using the Mecury Playback Engine GPU acceleration.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me figure this one out.

• Premiere Pro 5.5 crashes when importing mpg file

Premiere Pro 5.5 crashes when importing mpg file.
I can get the file to import if I first right click the file and tell it to "open in source monitor" then tell it to import.
When I do this it indexes the file. After it is done indexing is when I can then import the file.
Should I not just be able to tell it to import and it does the indexing?
These files that I am tryig to open were with Premiere Pro 4.

Welcome to the forum.
What are the specs. of this MPEG file? Might be something in those, that is causing an issue.
Good luck,

• Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer crashes when importing m2ts files

When I import my collection of images and videos using "Import / From file and folders...", Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer crashes when importing one of my .m2ts files. When I debug it I get:
Unhandled exception at 0x1543025B (mc_demux_mp2_ds.ax) in PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe: 0xC0000094: Integer division by zero.
Is there a way for me to import m2ts files successfully? If not, then is there a way to skip importing these files.

I do not have any version of Premiere Elements installed.
I never removed any files. This is a clean installation from a couple months ago when I got my new hard drive.

• IMovie crashes when importing video

iMovie crashes when importing video

I agree with Keydogg. Here it is step-by-step.
Try a "File Import" instead of "Camera Import":
_ Quit iMovie '09
_ Create a folder in your desktop & name it "Flip_videos"
_ Mount your Flip camera to the Mac
_ Copy your video files from the camera to the "Flip_videos" folder in your desktop
_ *Eject / Disconnect* your Flip camera from the Mac
_ Launch iMovie '09
_ *Go to* "File > Import > Movies..."
_ Browse to the "Flip_videos" folder, Select "Create New Event"
_ Click Import
Let me know if that helps!

• Adobe Photoshop CS4/5 Crashes when using the Move Tool

Hello. I'm here because I'm having an issue with Photoshop.
I was trying out CS5 when it started to crash every time I tried to use the Move Tool. It was the generic error message: "Adobe Photoshop CS4 has stopped working.
A problem has caused Adobe Photoshop CS4 to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
Thinking that it was a CS5 issue, I went back to my copy of CS4, only to find the same thing happening there (I also downgraded because CS5 was also crashing at other random times for some reason, but that's an issue for another time).
This puzzles me because both were working fine before. Granted, I hadn't opened them for a while, but it was a sudden thing.
My first impulse was to uninstall and reinstall CS4. No luck. So then, I uninstalled all third-party plugins, thinking that might be it. Still, the same problem. I started looking around on Google for solutions and found the instructions on resetting the Tool preferences (I chose to reset the preferences for ALL of the tools). When that didn't work, I tried deleting the preferences file outright, which said instructions recommended. Nothing.
I should note that Photoshop crashes when using the Move Tool to move an object without ant lines around it, i.e., a layer. I'll move the object, and after two to three seconds, the mentioned error message will appear and Windows will close Photoshop. This, however, only seems to happen after selecting, copying, and pasting part of a large object with some variation of the Marqee Tool (thus making that part a new layer by default) while working at a zoom of 100%. So, in short, working with a large image like This at 100% zoom. The image linked is the image that I was using and am currently using to reproduce the problem. It is 1280x1024 pixels. I have tested this with somewhat smaller, yet comparable images too. Same problem. I have never had this problem working with large images before, and I wonder if anyone has any suggestions short of formatting my hard drive.

Even a decent RAM upgrade is usually only a few hundred dollars nowadays, but it's not a trivially simple process. That said, with a little research and care you can do it. Alternatively, you can hire people (e.g., "Geek Squad") to do such an upgrade.
First, you'll need to know what your operating system capacity is. For example, a 32 bit Windows system can really only use up to a bit more than 3 GB of RAM, while a 64 bit Windows system can use all the RAM you can find a place to plug in. What version of Windows are you running?
Then you'll need to determine what RAM you have installed and what your computer's maximum RAM capacity is - usually you can do this through internet research, either by visiting your computer manufacturer's web site or doing google searches. There are even RAM manufacturer web sites that will tell you what kind of RAM your computer needs and suggest sources, for example:
http://www.kingston.com/
It may be that you can just plug additional chips into currently empty sockets, or it is possible you'll need to replace the RAM chips you have installed in your computer to make room for an upgrade. Every computer is different.
If you list your computer model and current RAM that you have installed here, it may be that someone can help with more specific advice.
