Premiere CC keeps crashing with new MacPro?

@

Hi Roland,
Mac OS X users might be subject to anomalies in the OS.
Try the following:
Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
Update any GPU drivers
Trash preferences
Ensure Adobe preference files are set to read/write
Delete media cache
Remove plug-ins
If you have AMD GPUs, make sure CUDA is not installed
Repair permissions
In Sequence Settings > Video Previews, change the codec to one that matches your footage
Disconnect any third party hardware
If you have a CUDA GPU, ensure that the Mercury Playback Engine is set to CUDA, not OpenCL
Disable App Nap
Reboot
Report back if anything here worked for you.
Thanks,
Kevin

  • FCP Crash with new MacPro

I am using FCS3 now for quite a while with a MacPro 2x 3Ghz Quadcore, Mac 2.1 and Aja Kona Lhe. Everything was fine but then I decided to get a new Mac because I wanted to use BM DaVinci Resolve.
Now I got an MacPro 2x 2,4Ghz Quadcore, Mac 5.1 with Blackmagic Decklink Card. Everything is fine BUT when I use FinalCutPro it always quits by itself. After a very short time the software quits all of a sudden.
Has anybody an idea why this is so AND what I can do to solve this problem?
    fs

Did you install the FCS suite onto the new computer by using the original disks?
You should. Don't forget to run all updates, repair permissions and restart.
Or did you migrate the applications from the older Mac? You should not do this.

  • Premiere Pro CC crashing on new MacPro (Early 2014)

Working with multiple tracks of both Audio and Video (sourced from C300, 5D, EX1, WAV Recorder).
When I ripple edit Premiere closes unexpectedly but  saves a copy for me to continue on... still don't know why it crashes though: It's a fully specced MacPro 6,1 (details below).
This is only occuring when all tracks are eyeballed (or 'toggled for output').

Also see this article on PrE crashing, or hanging: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/792580?tstart=0
It starts with a checklist for PrE, then goes into detail on tuning up one's system and OS, and then goes into troubleshooting problems, with links to other articles, and also tools to help troubleshoot the problem(s). The first part is pretty easy, and then things pick up in "degree of difficulty," as you progress, ending with The Case of the Unexplained.

Come On ADOBE, I just signed up for the creative cloud to get Premeire and this is what I get? a day of fudging around trying to make your software work only to find that you introduced a bug into the software for a GT 650M graphics card?
My problem is identical...I have upgraded the drives to the graphics card on my laptop and it still crashes.  If I make the Nvidia card the preferend card for premeire it will crash on start up.  If I set the integrated intel 4000 card as the prefered card it will start up but crash within 10 seconds...
Whatever is going on, I need something that works...can you make an older version available in the mean time while this gets sorted out?
    PLEASE FIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • MacPro 1,1 keeps crashing with grey screen

My mac pro model identifier MacPro 1,1 keeps crashing with a grey translucent screen that comes down over my view. It's happened 3 times now, twice today. The problem report for the crash after reboot both times today read: "TLB invalidation IPI timeout: " "CPU(s) failed to respond to interrupts. unresponsive CPU bitmap: 0x8, NMIPI acks: orig: 0x0, now: 0x0"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1699.32.7/osfmk/i386/pmap.c:3024"
I have backups of everything on 3 other hard drives that are in my mac pro, so I'm not too worried about losing any data, I just want my computer to function properly, I know it's old but I still love it and hope she keeps ticking for awhile!
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks!

The panic originated in Dropbox, but you have several third-party extensions installed any of which could cause an incompatibility. Try running for a while in Safe Mode to see how it goes and if the panics stop.
In the future post the panic logs in text.
To post screen shot do this:
Press COMMAND-SHIFT-4 which will change the cursor to crosshairs.
Hold down the mouse button and use the crosshairs to select the part of the screen you wish to capture.
Release the button and the image will be saved to your Desktop.
Click on the Camera icon in the toolbar of the forum message editor.
Drag the image onto the Choose File button and click on the Insert button.

  • Premiere Pro keeps crashing when using overwrite (.) shortcut in Source Monitor

When editing a clip in the source monitor and then using the (.) key to overwrite the clip onto my timeline Premiere Pro keeps crashing. If I select the Timeline window and then press the (.) key it works fine, but if the Source Monitor is highlighted and I press (.) it crashes every time and shows these windows:
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
    [/Volumes/BuildDisk/builds/mightykilt/shared/
    adobe/Mediacore/Backened/Make/Mac/../../Src/
    Sequence/LinkContainer.cpp-184]
    and then opens this one:

    save your current project.
It saves my current project as a copy, which is good, but I've now ended up with lots of copies of the same project as it keeps on crashing. In order to work I have to make sure that the Timeline is highlighted before I use the shortcut. It makes for very precarious and tense editing!

I'm using a MacBookPro 15", OS X 10.8.4 and editing footage filmed at 24fps 1920x1080 on my Canon 550D/T2i. All .MOV files.
I purchased my software from iSoftware.co.uk. I'm worried that could be the problem.
Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

A crash with a very similar error message was fixed in the new CC release. The bug report in that case involved creating a multi-cam sequence, so it might not be directly related.
If you have a chance to download the CC trial, we'd be interested to know whether the crash remains in the new version.

  • Premiere pro keeps crashing

    Hi,
I am using Premiere pro and lately it keeps crashing every 10-15 minutes.  I have closed all programs and am only running Premiere pro.  I check the activity monitor and it looks like the inactive memory keeps increasing.  I have searched for this on the web and found I can "purge" it from the command line.  Still premiere pro keeps crashing.  This is very frustrating.  I cannot keep working like this.
I have a Mac OS version 10.8.5.  2.2 GHz Intel Core i7.  Memory is 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.  Startup Disk is Macintosh HD.
I have no idea what is causing this.  It seems to be random, but I think it happens often when I am playing the video after making some modifications to the timeline (e.g., changing zoom, audio, etc.).
    Thanks.

you may want to try switching the renderer to software only if its not already. this is an option when creating a new project, or from the menu, project settings.

  • Itunes keeps crashing with Windows 8.1 and doesn't recognize my iphone or ipad to syn.  Frustrated!!!

After new Itunes update ... it  keeps crashing with Windows 8.1 and doesn't recognize my iphone or ipad to syn.  Frustrated!!!  I have unninstalled it .. installed it, but nothing happens.  I even loaded an earlier itunes version, it worked without crashing, but it still did not recognize iphone or ipad.

Do you get an error message when you try to launch iTunes? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

  • Premiere CC keeps crashing when moving or deleting a group of clips

    Hello,
I am getting this weird bug where Premiere CC keeps crashing when I am trying to delete or move (either by using drag'n drop or cut-and-paste*) a selected group of clips on the timeline.
The sequence is set to QT ProResHQ for video previews to match the codec of the video files, so this couldn't explain this issue.
Here is the error message I am getting everytime:
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
    [/ppro721/releases/2013.10/shared/adobe/MediaCore/Backend/Make/Mac/../../Src/Sequence/Pers istentGroupContainer.cpp-279]
    * Copy-paste does work though, that's my workaround for the moment: I copy the selected group of clips, then delete the "originals" one by one, because Premiere crashes only when I am trying to delete or move more than one clip at a time...
Even though I have found a temporary workaround for this weird problem, it's really frustrating as it keeps happening randomly throughout the sequence (not all clips on the same timeline are affected by this), and it complicates the execution of such basic operations  as deleting or moving clips around on a timeline.
Any help is welcome, as I keep wasting a lot of precious editing time with this issue.
    Thank you.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 9 running on and are you running the 9.0.1 Update version of the program. Just background information.
To each of the three groups, have you first applied the Group option under the Clip Menu? If so, you do not use Alt or Ctrl. You click and drag the selected/highlighted Group to where you want it. Doing that, to the extreme, I can move the Groups including dragging Group 2 over Group 3 to place Group 2 after Group 3 and no disturbances.
But you must wait the the Group to be selected/highlighted completely before you move it.
However, could it be that you have lost control of your project for resource reasons. Besides the 24 tracks high and the body of the tracks in three Groups, what is the duration of this project? Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 is a 32 bit application whether it is run on a 32 bit or 64 bit computer, and the limitations include max supported installed RAM = 4 GB of which 3.2 to 3.0 or less of that are available.
    Please review and consider.
    Thank you.

Outlook 2011 slow, clunky and keeps crashing with macbook pro os x 10.8.4 - any hints??  ta

You might look in your User Library for Outlook .plist(s). They probably start with com.microsoft.
    Quit Outlook.
Either hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command and select your user Library in your home folder or use the Finder “Go To Folder” command and enter ~/Library/Preferences.  Move the .plist(s) to your desktop.
Open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist(s) from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist(s) to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
    Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

    Hi,
Premiere CC keeps crashing and it drives me crazy, I've searched for solutions but none of them fixed the issue.
The crashes are randomly so I don't know if it's a problem with the program itself, or the Macbook.
