Premiere CC scopes in color correction

My scopes work correctly with the first clip in my timeline. After that, they don't respond. I have no idea what the problem is. I am working on CC. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If Premiere is not working properly restart computer, hold down shift + alt while opening Premiere until welcome screen.
If this does not help,
You need to be more specific.
Which CC, which scope, which effect etc.

  • Transitions not working in Premiere CS6.Video was color corrected in AE 6 and sent back to PPro cs6.

I exported my film to AE6 from Premiere CS6 for color-correction and got it back to Premiere Pro through DYNAMIC LINK.Now,the problem is that AE has discarded all the transitions and also cross-dissolve and film-dissolve don't seem to work on this color-corrected video.I am able to apply the transitions but they don't work....somebody please help!

As Jim said, not all effects and transitions are properly translated when you replace a group of clips with dynamically linked AE composition. Actually you should have noticed that your cross-dissolves etc. had been replaced with black solid layers in After Effects, which didn't reflect your PrPro transitions.
Now you can jump back to your AE project and fix broken transitions there.
For your future work you should keep it in mind and decide whether to replace a group of clips (and, therefore, fix broken transitions in After Effects) or a single clip, taking care of its handles.

  • Have any tutorials to explain 3D color space scope in Color correction

Taiwan Have no Large information to learn Apple Color, then Color manual Have no to much explain for operate 3D color space scope.
Have Anyone can tutorial that operating? thanks a lot

The Color manual describes the 3D scope in the space of a cube, but I find it much easier to understand in the form of two cylindrical cones.
You can imagine the two cones being placed end-to-end, with their flat sides touching. At the tip of one cone is white, and the tip of the other is black. Where a color falls in this space between the two tips demonstrates the color's value (its brightness).
In the middle, the color is most saturated. This region (where the flat sides of the cones would touch) forms a color wheel. The hue of a color can change by rotating around the wheel.
As a color moves toward one tip or the other, closer to black or white, the color necessarily becomes less saturated. You can't have a color that's almost completely black and is also highly saturated. In this cone configuration, it becomes clear that a color loses its saturation as its value moves toward one extreme or the other.

  • Color correcting in Premiere or Photoshop?

I'm new to Premiere and want to color correct some footage. I'm also new to color correcting. Am I better off learning to color correct my footage in Premiere or should I bring it into Photoshop to do it there?
    Thanks.

A dedicated color correction app is on its way, maybe CS6. However, we find using the fast color corrector and the three way color corrector in PP quite effective for the basic primary/secondary color correction we do. Gotta watch your scopes though (waveform/vectorscope at the very least). Creative Cow has some tutorials on basic color correction. Here's one, but you'll have to dig around for the others by Andrew Devis. Again, don't do any color correction without checking your scopes.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Crashing during color correction

Adobe Premiere pro crashing during color correcting on both new macbook pros with osx 10.8.2. Clips coming off new G Raid drive with thunderbolt. Clips shot on canon mark III. Help.

Hold option down while launching to reset prefs.
Start or open another project with different media. If everything OK, that makes it look like your project or media are corrupt.  Start new project with same media.  If OK, then your previous project could have been corrupt.  And so on.
Deleting your media cache can also banish some crashing.

  • Color correct 3 camera angles

this might be a stupid question. i know how to open the color correction window and bring up the wfm/vts/rgb parade and then scope/eyeball color correct with 3 way cc. is there some kind of automated way fcp5 in multiclip can match camera angles? i saw an eyedropper. can you sample white and black and match this way? thx in advance

See III-471 of your user manual. This is accessible from the "Help" menu. I think that's as automated as it gets.

  • Scopes / Color-Correction Question

When I apply a color-correction effect - RGB Curves for instance - before I make a single adjustment the scopes jump to new values, as if I had made an adjustment. When I click the eyeball to turn the effect off the scopes all go back to their original values.
The Composite Video doesn't change until I actually make an adjustment, but the scopes all register some change - before I make a change.
What is going on here? It seems so basic I must be missing something simple.
Any help would be appreciated - Thank You!
[edit: btw the changes in the scopes are not small or barely noticeable - they're huge and obvious. Thanks again.]

We made tests raw video files from various camcorders: Sony EX1, Panasonic AG-AC160, Panasonic TM900. In all this tests the pixels shift and even more: changes the tones of the video (particularly in the midtones) just when we apply (without change anything) any tool of Color Correction tab. The "All Scopes" show this clearly. The same problem when we use Colorista II or Magic Bullet Looks. For us this video is the proof of the situation, please watch in 720p:
I remember perfectly that when I was talking about this issue, someone replied: "go to a different NLE!", with plenty of irony, of course. But the problem is not me, canoli99, Ann Bens or others who have seen this problem. The problem is in Premiere and somehow we received this confirmation from Steve Hoeg/Adobe "It can be fixed but we cannot commit to any timeframe. Fixing and testing changes can often take months".
Only one detail that could help solve this bug: if we apply any tool of Color Correction tab on a AVCHD [4:2:0/8 bit] in the timeline, the problem occurs and the scopes jumped. BUT if we convert the same AVCHD to Cineform [4:2:2 or 4:4:4, 10 bit], put this new file Cineform in the timeline and then apply the same tool of Color Correction tab, the problem disappears and the scopes don't jumped.

  • Secondary color correction not working in Premiere CC

    Greetings,
I'm unable to build secondary color correction masks in Three Way Color Corrector, RGB Curves etc in the current version of Premiere CC.
In any of these plugins, when I check "show mask" I get the usual white slate filling the frame. But when I use the color picker to make a selection the whole frame stays white. It appears that I'm making selections but it's not building the mask for some reason. When making an extreme color change I can see that the mask is not building as it affects the whole frame.
This started after upgrading to CC. I've recently updated to the most up to date version (yesterday) and am still having the same problem.
    Premiere CC 2014.1 Release
    8.1.0 (81) Build
Macbook Pro Retina, 15" Late 2013
    2Gh Intel Core i7
    8Gb
    Intel Iris Pro 1536Mb
    Yosemite Version 10.10
*note-my Colleague is not having this problem, he's working on the same OS and same CC build but he has an Imac. So I'm guessing this problem is unique to my hardware config.
Anybody else have this problem or know of a fix?

I have the same Problem new MAC OS Premier Pro CC or Premier Pro CS6 both have an issue with the Title Tool. If you open the title tool and try to make color changes or change size of the font it sticks at the default color and default font. SOmetimes the title tool will work and then when I exit it's back to the default first type location, default font and default color. Sometimes it will not even let me exit the Title Tool.
Please help I have Projects I'm working on Deadlines and I pay a monthly Fee for Software that works and it's not working.

  • After effects color corrected clip not showing correctly in Premiere

    Hello all,
I have recently made a short film with a few effects in Premiere and After effects CS4.  I have used the Dynamic Link to accomplish this.  I have added color correction with Color Finesse in After effects.  The problem is I some of the color correction is not showing up in Premiere once it has finished.  Some of them are adjustment layers and some are not and the ones that are showing up are diverse like that as well.  I have rendered the footage and rendered the premiere time line, it fixes it at first but won't build a DVD the right way then the fixes just seem to disappear when scrolling through the timeline.
Is anyone else haveing this problem?
Do you think it's something wrong that an update will fix?
    Maybe a new codec?

Describe the exect DL steps you took.

  • AJA Xena LS and Premiere CS4 color correction

Is anyone using the AJA Xena LS with Premiere Pro CS4?
I have a problem with color correction and it appears that the Xena card could be the reason for it.
When I apply a color correction to a clip, the color correction takes effect only as long as the left mouse button is pressed but doesn't retain the correction once the LMB is released (see my previous post "CS4 video effects" for more details).
Any input (other than the help already provided in the "CS4 video effects" post) will be appreciated.
    Thanks!

This problem was solved with the new Xena drivers released 09-04-09.
New problems occurred, but they are specifically AJA related.

  • Color Correction plugin for Premiere Pro CS3....

    Hi,
I'm looking for a plugin for color correction in Premier Pro CS3.
I checked out the Color Correction tools that ship with Premiere (which are nice) and I checked out Synthetic Aperture's Color Finesse 2 (which is great as well).
Are there any other recommendations ? ;)
Thanx for your help in advance !
    Mike

I've not used it, but Magic Bullet Colorista is one option.

  • Color Correction in Encore from Premiere

When I open my Encore project which consists of a Master show from Premiere (composed of multiple timelines), it doesn't see the color correction used in Premiere.
Curiously, Encore 5.1 does (although this was fraught with transcoding issues, hence my jump to 6).

No. Original was created in premiere 5.5 and dynamically linked to encore
5.1 via timelines containing the various sequences from premiere. The
burned dual layered dvd would freeze at 7:24 in the 5th chapter and return
to the main menu.  I opened that encore project in encore 6 and burned a
fully-functional did with the exception of the encore 6 project wouldn't
see the color correction effects from the premiere5.5 project to which it
    was directed.

  • Three-Way Color Correction in Adobe Premiere Elements 13?

Does Adobe Premiere Elements 13 have the Three-Way Color Correction feature, as found in past versions? Really important.

    Phil-SC
What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running on?
    In Premiere Elements 12 or 13 Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit
The short answer is Yes. See fx Effect/Color Correction/Three-Way Color Correction.
The longer answer is in the form of the following 3 screenshots displaying a side by side comparison of the 12 and 13  settings area in Applied Effects/Applied Effects Palette/Three-Way Color Correction Panel expanded
    Midtones
Premiere Elements 12 on left, Premiere Elements 13 on right
    Highlights
Premiere Elements 12 on left, Premiere Elements 13 on right
    Shadows
Premiere Elements 12 on left, Premiere Elements 13 on right
I have not done a side by side comparison of results from the two versions, but they have the same controls and
    options as you can see.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 then After Effects CS3 for Color Correction?

    Hello All,
I'm at a bit of a loss here, it seems like it's a no brainer to be able to do this. I'm trying to edit my film in Premiere and then use After Effects to do color correction using Color Finesse 2. But there doesn't seem to be ANY way to keep a project so you can continue to edit in premiere while you also keep all your color correction??
You can do color correction in AE and export a premiere project but premiere won't recognize the Color Finesse Filter so you lose all you color correction!
Or I can edit the whole project in premiere and open it in after effects to do color correction, but then if there is a single edit change that needs to be done in premiere again i've once again lost my Color Correction to bring it back.
Is this really the case that I can't use these expensive packages together this way? It seems like there has to be a solution! If Adobe just made it so Premiere kept the "links" to your filters in the project, instead of killing an unrecognizable one. Then when you opened it back in after effects after your edit your Color Correction would still be there.
    Any one have any advice?
    Thanks,
    -Ethan

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, all good ideas.
Aanarav, Your idea to just get Color Finesse for premiere I suppose I could do. It's $545 which isn't exactly pocket change, but it would probably be worth it, if there is another way other than breaking the bank book for software I already own i'd like to try to get away with it.
    Steven Gotz
Dynamic link is unfortunately a feature only of the production studio package which is like $1100 upgrade from what I have...so that's kinda out of the question for me.
    Jon Sands
Great idea here. I really thought it might work since premiere seems to use what are called after effects plugin files too. But after copying and pasting for a while it doesn't look like it actually sees it as a plugin anywhere I paste it. :( If anyone knows of a way to get that to work I would be seriously grateful!
I guess it sounds like the only way out is to spend cash, sigh such is so often the case is seems.
