Premiere CC somehow erased all the in/out points for all project subclips

I've been editing a project for over a couple of weeks now, and the first thing I did was go through all of the raw footage (a lot of it was interview footage) and make subclips out them for the 'beats'/segments and to separate the b-roll footage in long files. This worked great, and I almost completely had the project edited in the sequence and was down to little tweaks to clean it up when I opened the project today and wanted to go back and add a subclip I hadn't used. I clicked on the subclip to open it in the Source viewer, and the source file opened without the in/out markers. Just the subclip source. No subclip.
I started clicking through all of the others too. Hundreds of subclips, some used in the sequence, some not - all suddenly stripped of all in/out data. All of them merely referenced the entire, long source clips.
How in the hell is this even possible? That's at least a couple days worth of logging work just GONE.
I'm using fully updated versions of CC apps, as well as the Mac OS on a 2011 MacBook Pro and editing off a LaCie Rugged Drive.

Nested sequences can do that, since they are references to another sequence. Specifically if you open a nest by double clicking on it in the new sequence, change in and out to make another edit, your changes may reflect on your new timeline.

  • What is the shortcut Out Point for FCP?

In Motion if your media is highlighted on the timeline your able to just press "I" or "O"
    What is it in FCP?

Well, I and O work to create In and Out in FCP as well - though that creates In and Out for the Sequence if either the Timeline or Canvas is active, and not the clip.
In other words, FCP isn't designed to work the way Motion does. The closest approximation is the Time Edit Window (double-click on an edit point or press Command-7) then turn on Dynamic.
If you're looking to replicate the working behavior of Motion in the Timeline then, with the Edit Point selected, use the Extend Edit function (press the E key). I mean, if it's really that important.

  • HT204053 I somehow erased all my contacts from my IPHONE, how can i export them from icloud to my phone?

I somehow erased all my contacts from my iPhone, how can I export my contacts from my icloud account from my PC?

    joephilipose,
If the contacts are still in Address Book on your computer, but just not on the phone, you can tell iTunes to force replace the contacts on your phone with those from your computer. You can do this by going into the Info tab when your iPhone is connected, and checking the Contacts box under the Advanced section at the bottom of the page.
You may also want to backup your Address Book information as well. It's a good idea to make periodic backups of your contact and calendar information in case information accidentally gets deleted or changed. You can find out how to backup your Address Book data here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=AddressBook/4.0/en/ad961.html
To backup your iCal information, follow the steps in this article:

    Hope this helps,

  • Is there anyway to have Premiere Pro recognize the "in" & "out" points and the sequence's "home" (first frame) as edit points so that the up & down arrow work as short cuts on these areas?

Is there anyway to have Premiere Pro recognize the "in" & "out" points and the sequence's "home" (first frame) as edit points so that the up & down arrow work as short cuts on these areas?

Hey guys, I wrote a big long speech trying to be more clear and was just getting more confusing. LOL
Hopefully this image makes my question a bit easier to understand. In green you can see how the up and down arrow keys land while in Final Cut. In red how they land while in Premiere. I'd like them to land like Final Cut. Thanks!

  • Can Adobe Premiere and Audition "Royalty Free" music files be used for "commercial" projects?

I apologize for not being able to find this answer on my own but can anybody please answer this:  Can Adobe Premiere and Audition "Royalty Free" music files be used for "commercial" projects?

    SusieBird
Are you using any version of Premiere Elements? Or, is it that you are really asking about some version of Premiere Pro and Audition?
If the latter, please refer to
    Premiere Pro
    Audition CS5.5, CS6 & CC
In the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum in which your thread has been posted, it has always been written by others (Bill Hunt, Steve Grisetti) that
Premiere Elements users can use Premiere Elements assets for commercial projects. I do not use Audition, so I cannot speak to the Audition situation.
We are a user to user forum here and not Adobe. The ultimate answers on this would be from Adobe itself to avoid what is written and what is written between
    the lines.

  • Doki, one of the biggest Adobe Air for iOS projects, released yesterday

I am proud to present one of the biggest Adobe Air for iOS projects, that was released yesterday. Amazingly, the project completed in less that a year. Doki is a unique modern method of learning the basics of a foreign foreign language without the use of grammar and writing.  Through colourful animated scenarios and characters, Doki brings to life a number of languages through real life situations, humour and interactive exercises. Exclusively designed for the iPad 2, New iPad, and iPhone 4S, Doki teaches five different languages: English, French, German, Iberian Spanish and Latin American Spanish. Each language has two levels: Doki and Doki Further.  Both levels have been designed to teach the basics of these languages so that you can communicate with confidence.  In Doki, a beginner’s level, the learner navigates through 14 chapters or ‘places’ in Doki City, listens and repeats the phrases and then solves simple interactive exercises.  Each chapter is divided into lessons (a total of 51) that present key words and phrases in English and the other languages Doki covers. Doki Further, a more advanced beginner’s level, consists of 9 chapters with 28 lessons that take place in Doki City.
The development of Doki is based entirely on Adobe Air . The result is spectacular. With a development team that consisted of 5 programmers, 2 designers, 3 language specialists, one assistant programmer, plus a team of 4 testers, the gigantic project of 14 apps was completed in less than a year, resulting in very low development costs!

  • Hide the punch out catalog for some purchasing groups

    Hi ,
I want to hide one punch out catalog for purchasing groups . How is this possible ?
Can we do in PPOMA_BBP , but the excluded tab is in display mode .
    Please help ...
    Thanks in advance
    Neha

    Hi,
You can do this in PPOMA_BBP transaction. Excluded tab is in display mode because you may have added the catalog at Purchasing grp levels.
Insteading of adding the catalogs at purchasing grp levels add the catalogs at the Purchasing Org level.
Then all the catalogs will be inherited in below purchasing grps, there you can check exclude tab for one which you dont want in that purchasing grp.
    Hope this solves your problem.
    Thanks

  • How do you swap an image in the timeline but keep the in/out points and opacity settings?

    Hi There,
We have a file which consists of a bunch of still images that get updated each year - the edits never change.
Is there an edit type that will allow us to swap the images our for new ones but keep the in/lout points and opacity changes? We've looked at all the edit types (overwrite, insert etc) but they don't seem to swap stuff out.
We had also been naming the new files the same as the old ones and reconnecting the media but this is now causing issues.
Any help or pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.
    Cheers
    Ben

Click on the new image in the browser, so that it is selected, and the type Command + C to copy it.
Next, click on the clip in the timeline that you want to replace with the image you just copied (preserving your in and out points and opacity settings) and type Option + V to bring up the Paste Attributes Dialog Box.
In the Paste Attributes Dialog box, check the box for Contents and leave the remainder of options unchecked.
Uncheck the Scale Attribute Times option as well.
Click OK, and the image should now be replaced on the timeline with the in/out and opacity changes preserved.

  • The sign out button for iCloud is not clickable

I am trying to change the iCloud phone used for my girlfriend iPhone 5.
I created a new Apple ID for her phone, logged out of all possible places where the old one can be logged,
but when going on settings>>iCloud the sign out option is gray and can not be clicked.
I tried everything written in the forums, but still no success.
Can someone actually help me here, there is not Find my iPhone installed on the phone.
I updated today to the newest version.
    Best regards,

So the idea is to back it up on my PC. Then delete everything, then if I restore it won't the iCloud be the same?
And can I ask you why does this have to be so hard to do? I have a new apple id, I have iCloud created for it, but can't use it on the phone.
I understand theft is a thing, but basically this phone has be used with just one number and it is the one my gf owns and pays each month.
I have bought every iPhone since 3gs, I even bought my mother one, I have two iPads, I have apple TV and I still can not understand why iTunes and this whole apple id iCloud thing can be such a mess.
    Regards

  • Where's can I see the in/out point times?

I'm combining lots of clips from different films into one and because the audio levels are different in each clip, I've extracted the audio from the clips, applied mp3gain to them and inserted them into the timeline below the corresponding video clip. Of course I would like to set the in and out points of these audio clips to the same values as the video, but I don't know an easy way to see the in and out point times.
If I double click the video (i.e. open it int the preview window) I can scrub the timeline and see where the in point is, but it's not very precise and I'd like this to be exact.
So, all this just to ask: how can I find out the exact in/out point of a clip in the timeline?

For what you are wishing to do, I would strongly recommend using the Audio Mixer. It is great for doing exactly what you want, and will "automate" the changes via Track Keyframes.
I do this as about the very last process in my editing, as I want to make sure that I have all of my cuts set. Actually, any Audio work is at the end of my workflow. Once my edits are visually where and how I want them, I fire up Audio Mixer. If I have several Audio Tracks, such as Narration and Soundtrack, I Mute these, and begin "riding gain," or "potting" as I play the movie and listen very closely with a set of good headphones. As the movie plays, I adjust the Gain to exactly what I want for that entire Audio Track. Because PE lays down Keyframes on the Audio Track, you can go back and basically re-record your changes to a particular area. It's much simpler in PE, than in PrPro's Audio Mixer, though the latter does allow more "power." When I am done with my dialogue Track, I leave it on as a reference, and then un-Mute my Narration, adjusting it as is needed. Last, I'll leave both of those on and address the Soundtrack the same way. Once done, you can then play the whole thing with the Audio Mixer open and watch the "pot" for the Gain move in each Audio Track automatically.
The main reason for doing this as the last step in the editing workflow is because the Keyframes are on the Audio Track(s) and NOT on the Clips. If you go to edit the Clips, changing their Duration, etc., you would need to clear your Track Keyframes and start over, or the adjustments will no longer be correct.
This is basically how it's done in Hollywood.
Good luck, and don't forget a good set of headphones to really be able to listen closely. I don't work with a lot of meter settings, other than watching out for Clipping, but instead listen to the piece and to my changes to it.

  • Setting In and Out Points for Render

    Hi everyone!
I was wondering how to tell color to only render from and in and out point, instead of rendering for a whole clip. In FCP I take a ten minute capture, then break it up into sub-clips for each shot, and then edit some of these sub-clips into my video.
When some of these sub-clips require correction in Color the sequence gets sent to color just fine, but when it renders my changes it renders it to the whole clip that the sub-clip came from. This takes too much time because I only need the sub-clip to be rendered, not the whole clip, because that's all I use in my video.
How can I fix this extra rendering? Thanks in advance!

I think that you might find the answer to your question on this link below.

  • Export In/Out points for subtitles?

    Hi,
I have a finished feature film edited in Final Cut Pro, complete with subtitles, to import a subtitle track into DVD Studio Pro, I need to have the In and Out points, plus actual content in one text file. Is there anyway to export all of this data from Final Cut?? Because at the moment it has to be done by hand which is incrediably long.
Thanks in advance if anyone has any advice, that would help a lot.
    best regards
    Harry Atkins

Another one is Belle Nuit Subtitler (see under Importing FCP Text Effect Titles)
or indeed Title Exchange Pro by Sperico.
    or SubBits by Video Toolshed
As fas as I know these tools I think the first one is the most powerfull software of the three, for that price.
But that's just my humble opinion.

There is no standart functionality for this. You need to code for your custom excel output.

  • Windows Media Player has somehow made itself the dealt video player for certain file types?

    Title should say default
I have Windows 7 installed in a virtual machine but I didn't think Windows Media Player would barge it's way onto my Mac and start making itself the default player for files here too -.- I even right clicked on the file, click open with.. chose vlc and checked the change all box. This worked and now when I double click the file it will open with vlc, but when I right click it, it still says that Windows Media Player is still the default player for this file type.

Don't know much about WMPlayer, but if FCE has multiple audio tracks a "MIX Down Audio" should be done just prior to the export.
