Premiere CC will only output 60fps over BM Intensity

Hi everyone, I'm trying to get the video preview to behave correctly out of Premiere CC (v7.0.0)
- I am on the latest BM driver (9.7.5) with an Intensity Pro
- Under preferences/playback, I have "Blackmagic Playback" checked
- I create a new sequence and use Blackmagic's preset: HD1080/8 bit YUV/Progressive/23.976p
I get nothing. My monitor (Dell U2410 via HDMI) says "there is no signal from your computer"
However, if I make a sequence that's 60fps (regardless if it's a BM preset or not), I get picture. Audio comes through regardless.
This is weird because this exact setup was working fine in CS5 and I could output any framerate I wanted (provided I started with a BM preset).
Any ideas?

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. The behavior is completely inconsistent. Once I get it to recognize a 23.98 sequence, no other sequence works. Sometimes the monitor goes to sleep and wakes up repeatedly, as if it's getting an intermittent signal.
Now when it is displaying something, Premiere won't give up control. I can switch to finder and the last frame stays up on the monitor (even though "Disable video output when in the background" is checked. It won't even let AE have control, so now AE playback doesn't work either.

Premiere Elements 12 will only render some of my footage?

Premiere Elements 12 will only allow me to render some of my footage while it won't render other footage at all. The footage it renders has a green line above it in the work space and no line is above the footage that won't render. I'm using a MacBook Pro and a LaCie external hard drive to import my footage and save my project. Any suggestions? Thank you!

1. Premiere Elements 12 on Mac. Have you updated from 12 to 12.1 yet - Help Menu/Update within a opened project? If not, please do so.

All of the content is in .mov format

Editing mode is "HDV 1080i"
Timebase is "29.97 frames/second"
Frame size is "1440 horizontal 1080 vertical"
Pixel Aspect Ratio is "HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.33)"
4. What is the duration of the Timeline when the lags and stops begin....are these lags and stops related to the time on the Timeline or to specific files....if these problem files were moved to another part of the Timeline, would they still be problem files?
The lags and stops begin at approximately 24 seconds of the timeline, but when I move this content to another part of the timeline the lags and stops begin where this first problem file begin. The lags and stops are most likely related to specific files, however that doesn't make sense since some .mov files don't lag/stop while other .mov files do lag/stop. The files are still problem files even when moved to another part of the timeline.
5. Are there transitions applied to the Timeline content? What effects are you adding to clips?
There are no transitions applied to the timeline content. I've only added a fast-forward effect to one clip (a clip that rendered fine and doesn't lag/stop) in my project thus far.

You'll have to do it by process of elimination. Sign into the iTunes Store through the App Store app, go to the Purchased section, and look at the list of apps purchased through your own Apple ID. Anything on your iPhone not in that list isn't yours and should be deleted. The same process would apply to content from the iTunes Store.
Or you can just restore the iPhone from your most recent backup and then redownload everything from the iTunes Store. But if you have a lot of apps or content, that obviously wlll be slow.

That's probably how you got your friend's purchases. It won't be an issue for iOS, but it is an issue for those apps and content.

If you change your tool to the "Direct Selection Tool" (A) then you should be able to adjust the area for you to type in...

Why will Premiere Pro CS6 only import to mpeg format?

Hello, so I've been using Premiere Pro CS6 now for only a few months and when I imported (using "capture" or F5) and tested some footage from a HDV camera using a miniDV tape, I noticed that Premiere Pro would only import to mpeg format. I looked up ways to change this but couldn't find anything. So in short I'm asking if there is a way to change import format so that whenever I do import from DV tape, it isn't mpeg?

Exchange email will only sync over WiFi on iPhone 6

Hello.
We use iPhones with our Exchange 2010 SP3 servers for email through activesync.
We've recently bought three iPhone 6 handsets and have set them up in exactly the same way as before - we have a mobileconfig file that runs users through the setup.
On one of them email will only sync correctly when the user is in our office and connected to our internal WiFi.
When he's using a 3g connection no new emails are delivered, though he doesn't get any error messages - it appears to sync ok, as though there are no new emails for him. Reconnect to our WiFi and email flows as normal.
I don't believe we have any DNS issues as email is working just fine for everyone else in and out of our network.
Has anyone else seen this behaviour, and ideally fixed it?

I had this exact same problem with Email that would only sync while on company's internal wifi for my iphone 6, despite it working perfectly with my other device. Checked the settings on both devices and they were all the same. While looking online for a fix I noticed there are a lot of people with this issue, unfortunately none of the "fixes" worked for me.
Originally I had my iPhone 6 setup to match the settings on my iPad with the server name "exchange.company.com". This gave me all the check marks as expected, but it wouldn't update unless on internal wifi. I was able to get my iphone 6 working by adjusting the server name in the account settings. After I adjusted the server name to be "outlook.company.com", I got the same checkmarks and my email is now working perfectly.
Not sure why it is different between the two devices but since it has solved my issue I will ignore that portion. Hope this helps.

Why is Premiere Elements importing only 2 minutes of a 40 minute video?

I just bought Premiere Elements 7.0 and installed it. I tried to import some videos off of a DVD which I created on my DVD burner hooked up to my TV (the files originally came from my video camera). The files are listed as .VOB on the disk. When I imported them into Premiere, they all show up, but the length shows as 00;01;14;05 (1 minute 14 seconds, right?). It appears to be only importing the first couple minutes. These are 40 minutes or more on each video.
I also tried copying the files over to my hard drive, renaming them as .mpg, but same thing happened. Premiere can recognize and import them, but only the first couple of minutes. Weird thing is, if i open the files through Windows Media, WM will recognize the full length and play the entire video.
Any help I can get will be much appreciated. I bought an $80 book to teach myself how to use this software, but it doesn't address this issue. Thanks.

Here is an excerpt from a reply on VOB's from another forum:
Let’s go back to the basics just a bit. As has been stated, a .VOB file is a "Video Object File." As such, and by the DVD-specs., it can contain quite a bit of stuff. Some of this is beyond just the Audio & Video contained in the usually present MPEG-2 file, which is hidden inside the VOB. This VOB can contain subtitles, Menus, and ROM content, to name but a few. With simple VOB’s, one can often play them, if they are just renamed to .MPEG, though not always. In the case where this works, one does not need a DVD software player. Any player program that can handle MPEG can play the file.
The structure and elements of a DVD-Video DVD-5 (4.7GB, single sided, single layer) will be in most cases:
AUDIO_TS folder (usually empty, as it’s really a carryover from the never fully implemented DVD-Audio). May also not be present.
VIDEO_TS folder, which contains VIDEO_TS.IFO (Video Manager.info), VIDEO_TS.BUP (VMGI.backup), VTS_01_0.IFO (Video Title #1.info), VTS_01_1.VOB (Video Title #1.video), and more of these, incremented by 1. Depending on the number of "titles" on a particular disc, the numbers can range up to the limit of 99. For Projects from most NLE/authoring programs will only have one "title," so you’ll likely not see more than 4 VOB’s and their accompanying IFO’s and BUP’s. The VOB’s will be approximately 1GB in size.
The title of the "movie" inside the VIDEO_TS folder will be contained in the .IFO and the BUP files. If you open up a DVD-Video in Windows Explorer, you’ll see just the folders, and no name, or anything else. The same is for the file names inside the folder(s). They will look the same for all DVD-Videos, though the exact number of these will differ, depending on the structure and number of discrete titles on the disc. It’s not until one opens the DVD-Video in either a software player, or in a set-top player, that the IFO files will play, allowing the player to then access and work with the .VOB’s, via the instructions that are contained in the IFO and BUP files.
Editing a VOB can be a tricky, as it can contain all those different things. Ripping the MPEG-2 file from the VOB is usually the best approach. That is what PE, or other NLE’s (Non Linear Editor) attempt to do. Sometimes, it works fine, but sometimes it does not. Another problem can be when there are multiple VOB’s, as the MPEG-2 files can span multiple VOB’s, as they cannot contain more than about 1GB of data.
Once one has edited the Audio & Video contained in the .VOB(s), the process to get the resulting Project back into DVD-Video form is to Burn to DVD. This is the authoring process.
Three things happen:
1.) The edited file is Transcoded to MPEG-2. If you were working from a VOB already, the Audio & Video material has already been Transcoded to MPEG-2, in which there will already be compression of the data. If you do this again, there will be more compression of the data, resulting in a loss in quality. Some NLE’s can do "smart rendering/encoding." None of the programs from Adobe can do this, as they are designed to work with material captured from a miniDV tape camera. While they can handle other footage, there will be compromises. When designed, DV-AVI Type II was chosen as the base workflow, because that was what most miniDV tape cameras produced. The introduction of flash memory, miniDVD, and hard drive cameras, plus the introduction of HD, has changed things a bit, and will continue to change them over the next versions of the programs.
2.) The folder structure and the necessary files are created.
3.) The above material is then physically Burned to a DVD-Video, or is copied to a folder on the computer in the required, and necessary form and structure.
In the case of the former, one can then play the DVD-Video via a software player on a computer, or on a set-top player hooked to a TV or display device. In the case of the latter, one needs a software player to play the files in the VOB, with the instructions coming from the IFO, or the BUP files.

Premiere CS6 will not close

Premiere CS6 will not shut down except by using task manager. This is a new problem. Is there something I may have accidentally deleted or changed, and is there a way to restore this function other than be reinstalling the whole program?

The program is only a couple months old. I am running the same version on 5 computers, and the others all close just fine. This one closed fine too until I cleared out the media cache files which, to my surprise, I discovered buried in the c drive and pushing my c drive into the red over-full zone. i don't see how anything I deleted in the media cache folder could have caused this, but the problem started at the same time.

I have a macbook pro 15-inch, Early 2011 running osx 10.9.4. I have a SSD hard drive that i installed myself a year ago and hasn't shown any defects. Its a 120 gb OCZ-AGILITY3.
My problem:
My macbook will only boot in safe mode nowadays. I have done a complete erasion of my hard drive and installed osx mavericks twice already. After the installation the computer will safely go to the desktop. But if i then do a reboot it won't get further than after the first apple logo, sometime the turning wheel will pop up, before turning off and trying again. i have tried resetting PRAM, I have tried resetting SMC, i have tried avoiding SMC (with big fan rate), but all with no success.
I have done a complete hardware test (the longer one) and it showed "no troubles found".
My guess is that the problem is with the battery. My computer won't run anymore without the adapter, when i pull the adapter out it either stays on for a while before just turning off. Without having it plugged in it won't start. Is it possible that during normal start up there is some kind of communication with the battery that can cause this?
I ran a diagnostic shown in this thread (Will only boot in safe mode) and included it in this post.
Hope someone can help me out.

Actually it sometimes gets a little further, the display will dim and the pointer will appear and then whoop it will turn off. if i do a verbose start up, it will finish all the steps, the white screen will appear and dim and then it will turn off.

24" iMac will only boot in safe mode

Here is the short version:
I have a 24" iMac Core 2 2.16 GHZ with Lion installed (has been for a long time). It will only boot successfully in safe mode. The AHT Extended tests do not report any problems. I have reset PRAM and SMC. Nothing helps. Normal boot process will get to the point where it switches from the Apple logo with spinning wheel to where it would normally switch the OSX GUI and login screen. Instead the screen is all white or gray. The exact same problem happens if I try to boot from an OSX Install DVD or USB and also my DiskWarrior DVD. Since safe mode works, my guess is that the problem is with the video card and the normal color depth that the Mac boots to. In Safe Mode it is in reduced colors.
Since safe mode works, I have all of my data backed up to an external drive. If I could boot from an install disk, I would have already wiped the disk and done a new install, but I cannot do this! I am assuming this is a hardware problem and given the age of this iMac I am out of luck. I ordered a new system last night, but if it is possible to get this one working again, I would like to be able to give it to a relative who could use it. So if anyone has any ideas, it would be appreciated.
Just slightly longer version:
Been using this system since 2007. Used to use it for work, now it is the home media hub where we sync our iOS devices. It has had Lion installed for probably a year now and has always worked great. A few weeks ago, it started locking up whenever my son was playing Minecraft. I would have to power off the system to get it back. I assumed it was a Java problem. I tried fixing disk permissions etc. but nothing solved it. Anyway, last week I was downloading App updates in iTunes when the system locked up again. The mouse would move around but I could not Force Quit anything or really do anything. So I had to power off the system. That is when the boot problems started. Since that happened, the system has not come back with a normal boot.
Thanks for any ideas/help. If someone thinks this is fixable, I can bring it to my local Apple service dealer. I do not want to pay them $100 just to have them tell me it cannot be fixed or needs a new logic board or something like that which would not be worth buying.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in safe mode.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
The commands may line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
