Premiere CS 6 fehlerhafter AVI Import

Hallo -

  • No audio after Cineform avi import into Premiere Elements 7

I cannot get any audio when I import AVCHD from a Canon HFS10 that has been converted by Cineform Neo Scene to AVI.  I've tried several combinations:
Canon HDV30 HDV converted to Cineform Neo Scene AVI --> import to PE7 - Works fine
Canon HDV30 HDV converted to Cineform Neo Scene AVI --> import to Windows Media Player  - Works fine
Canon HFS10 AVCHD   --> import to PE7 - Works (but very slow, just a dual-core computer), has audio
Canon HFS10 AVCHD  converted to Cineform Neo Scene AVI --> import to Windows Movie Maker - Works fine
Canon HFS10 AVCHD  converted to Cineform Neo Scene AVI --> import to PE7 - No audio
Canon HFS10 AVCHD  converted to Cineform Neo Scene AVI --> import to PP CS4 - No audio
    Anybody have any suggestions...?

    Steve,
I agree with you. Back before complete compatibility with AVCHD by most NLE's, Neo Scene showed promise, but there were issues. Now, both PrE and PrPro have native support for the AVCHD material, so there are no compelling reasons to rely on Cineform for this.
If one wants to convert from full HD AVCHD to SD, this is most effectively done in camera at Capture. There are several alternate workflows, and if necessary, or useful, I'll post links to Dan Isaacs' workflow instructions.

  • How to reinstall plugin Media Core CFHD AVI importer 32 and MOV importer 32.pm?

I instralled the After Effects trial program and it was running okay for a few days, then I was hit with a warning to reinstall plugins.  How to reinstall plugin Media Core CFHD AVI importer 32 and MOV importer 32.pm?

    Has anyone figure this out?
I started getting this after installing GoPro Studio 2.
Uninstalling it and even deleting the plugins manually didn't work, and neither did reinstalling AE.
All I could get was stop getting the error message at start-up but the problem is that any .AVI file that I import only plays audio, no video.
    Please, any help appreciated.

  • Premiere Pro CC will not import .mov files

Having issues with Premiere Pro CC, I cannot import .MOV files created with my Canon 6D.
If I try to import the files, I get a very generic "File format not supported" error msg.
This is a new install of Premiere CC on a new computer. I was able to import them using Premiere Pro CC on the old computer.
Quicktime will play these files fine on my new computer.
Premiere Pro CS6 will import these files on the new computer.
Premiere Pro CC would open them fine on my old computer.
I'm not even sure where to start. Any help would be appreciated.
    Here are my system details:
    OSX 10.9.3
    new Mac Pro
    3Ghz 8-Core Xeon E5
    64 GB RAM
Files are on external G-Tech Thunderbolt drive.

That was I was thinking at first, but if Premiere CS6 (installed on the same computer) imports and plays them, they must be on the system, no?
I really do not want to transcode. I have an existing project that uses the videos and the project on the new system will not import them or re-link to the videos. Really trying to get away from having to re-create the project and re-edit.
    Thanks!

  • Recommend CODEC for AVI imports

I am converting my PPT files with animation to AVI so I can
import them into Captivate. I am using a Full Uncompressed AVI and
have had less than stellar success (see previous post of "Animation
    Truncated").
I can create these AVI files with a variety of CODECs.
Can anyone recommend one that will create an acceptable AVI
    for Captivate?
    Thank you!

    Hi Kelly
While I don't have a workaround to offer I might suggest an
    approach that may help.
Consider reporting to Adobe a bug stating that AVI import
isn't working for you. My thought here is that perhaps the fine
folks at Adobe will come back and engage you in a dialog to ask
what CODEC you are using. Maybe that will reveal some of the
    information you seek.
    Click
here to view the WishForm/Bug Reporting Form
If that happens (and admittedly it's a long shot) please do
post the results back here for the benefit of others in your shoes!
    Cheers... Rick

  • Premiere Pro CC crashes when importing media.

Premiere Pro CC crashes when importing media. Every time. Driving me crazy.
It crashes as soon as the Windows dialogue box comes up.
Does it in new projects and in a project I created and imported into just fine 2 days ago.
    Have rebooted.
Running Windows 8.1 on Samsung Series 5 ultrabook Intel i5 - not too sure what else to say about other settings:
I did have a problem the other day when Windows was crashing when browing a large folder of largish  images and video clips but it went away when I put images and videos in separate folders.

    Thanks for reply.
Point taken but I've been using it for over a year for simple edits (5 min films) in PPCC just fine. Can't even do what I could do the other night now.
Simple folder with a few jpegs and movies in it. In fact it just crashes before I even got to another folder.

  • AVI Importer Plug-In Troubleshoot & Replacement; Backing-up Pictures Library

If I trashed and then removed from trash an AVI Importer Plug-in due to troubleshoot of Iphoto while importing new pics from my Canon cam, do I need to re-install any Plug-in afterwards?
Also I don't know much about how to backup my pictures library. How do I back it up?

By design, the iphone will sync itunes content with ONE computer at a time. If you attempt to sync such content with a second computer, ALL itunes content will first be erased from your phone & then replaced with the content from the second computer. This is a design feature & cannot be overridden.
You will have to use third party software to first extract music ripped on your own from your phone BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING. Same for photos not in your camera roll, the photo sync is one way...computer to phone. This is one example:
    http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/index.php
1.First, disable auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected, in preferences, in itunes, which in windows is in the edit menu.
    2. Put one contact & one event in whatever programs you use for that purpose on your computer, they can be fake, doesn't matter, the important point is to have one entry in each.
    3. Connect your phone, itunes running, DO NOT SYNC.
    4. Go up to Store>Authorize this Computer.
    5. Go up to File>Transfer Purchases. All of the purchased itunes content on your phone will be transferred, music you ripped on your own will not be transferred.
    6. Right click the phone in the device pane & select Reset Warnings.
    7. Right click the phone, again, & select Backup.
    8. Right click the phone, again, & select Restore from Backup. Select the backup you just made.
    9. This MUST be followed by a sync to restore your itunes content, which you select as before from the various tabs.
You'll get a popup regarding your contacts & calendars asking to merge or replace, select merge.
This article details what's included in the backup you'll make & restore from:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
That's as good as it gets if you don't have a backup of your itunes library.

  • Premiere Elements 13 has stopped importing MOV. files. Quicktime is installed and working

Premiere Elements 13 has stopped importing MOV. files. Quicktime is installed and working.

    Nowconfused
I tried to get background information on the video from your camera but all I could find so far is that the camera is probably recording
1080p (1920 x 1080 @ 29.97 or 30 progressive frames per second. What are you (manually) or the program (automatically) setting as the project
preset to match the properties of your video source. See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readings for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, and Pixel Aspect Ratio even if the fields look grayed out.
How are you importing the files into the Premiere Elements 13 project - with the Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets from a computer
hard drive location or are you making a USB connection between the camera and computer/Premiere Elements 13 and using Add Media/Video ..../Video Importer? Could you possibly have changed the way you are importing the files into a project?
Would it be possible for you to send a small sample of one of these .mov files that will no longer import? Maybe in a Dropbox link that you include in a reply?
Do you have any of the older files still available - the ones that did import at one time? If so, will they still import into a project or do they now not import?
    More later.
    Thanks for the follow ups.

  • In Premiere Pro CS5.5 AVI file imports audio only - no video.

I've got a file (one of 3) I've been given to create a smaller file (320x480) from.
The file is an avi file and plays (video and audio) just fine in the native Windows media player. (I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit) There are no issues of memory or HDisc space.
    Video:
The file is 2:21:29 in length.
    720x480
    Data rate 1489kbps
    Total bitrate 1617kbps
    29 frames/second
    Audio:
    Bit rate 128kbps
    Channels 2 (stereo)
    Audio sample rate 48 kHz
    The file is about 1.6Gb
This is one of 3 I recieved. The other two were of comparable specs and similar length (not exactly but one was longer, the other shorter.)
The problem is that this particular file (the other two import perfectly), when imported, only comes in as an audio file. No video imports. The other files import as audio and video. No error message either.
I've imported all kinds of video files in the past with different frame sizes, rates, and aspect ratios, and codecs, yet I've never had one that only imports the audio without the video.
    Suggestions?!

Post in the Premiere Pro forum. This forum is for suite specific issues only.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 won't import audio on an avi file

I just recently borrowed a friend's HD camera to film some scenes for a video. I had to import them onto my computer using a converter because my computer is a windows vista (  >:(  )  and the files on the camera are MTS files (they aren't compatible with CS3 anyway).
The first time I converted these files to avi files Premiere read them perfectly fine and also allowed me to use the audio that was with them. I soon decided though that the audio and video quality that I had converted them into was rather crappy so I converted the files again to much high quality (video bitrate 10000 kbps and audio bitrate 448 kbps).
By this time, I decided the video quality was what I wanted so I deleted the files off my friend's camera and returned the camera to him. (Note: the files played perfectly fine in windows media player and several other video editing software that I possess)
I opened Premiere after taking the camera back and discovered (to my disappointment and frustration) that whenever I tried to import the new files, Premiere would only import the video and not the audio. I would place the file on the video track and the audio wouldn't import onto the audio track.
Could this be a problem with the project preferences I chose? Or is it something else? Is there any hope of getting it to work?
One option I've considered doing is converting all the audio on the files to a different format or converting the video files to another format but my harddrive is running out of space as it is and I could lose quality by doing that.

(Not to mention the time it would take to reconvert the files. I've already spent several hours converting it from the camera. At the moment I also do not possess a solid avi converting program that I could trust.)

  • Frame duplication during 2vuy (in .avi) import on Premiere CS4

    Hello:
I am currently trying to import a complete Premiere CS4 (version 4.2.1) project on my laptop, Windows 7 - 64bit, which doesn't have an AJA Kona 3 card installed. The detailed file specification of the source file is given further below and had been created on a system with AJA's Kona card. The source files are in an AVI wrapper, in OpenDML, with 2vuy and had been created by the AJA Kona card on a different system.
The file gets imported into Premiere, and it displays the correct file length, here of about 56mn 24s. However, I can only access the first few seconds. If I drag the video file to the timeline, I realized that every frame is present for about 2 minutes and 40 seconds, which results in about 18 seconds of the original file length. To explain it in different words - I have the same frame at position 00:00:00, 00:00:01, 00:00:02 until 02:39:24.
The original files can be properly displayed within the windows media player, which utilizes a YCbCr Codec from Drastic Technology Inc. Therefore, I strongly believe that the source files aren't corrupted. What should I do now?

    Hello Filmemacher,
AJA has a QuickTime Codec out for the Format you need. The Codec is free and the File can be played/exported through QuickTime (Pro Version only). Another Solution is the Drastic Codec Suite that has all the AJA/Kona, DVS, Optibase Codecs plus the normal ones from Windows (IYUV, I420, UYVY, YUY2, YVYU) in one Codec. The download Link has been updated with the new Versions on the Drastic Website. The Drastic Codec works for AVI in Windows and MOV for QuickTime for encoding and decoding Films. I use them myself for a long Time now without any Problems.
Please note: There are some Links to old Versions of the Drastic/Optibase Codecs in the Internet, mainly in Eastern Countrys. Stay away from them because of many Virus alerts and unstable outdated Versions.
    Best regards, Mickey
