i have just got new pc with windows 7 professional, processor - intel xeon, ram 16 gb, adobe premiere cs 6.
in premiere the playback normally and during export to tape flickers/jitters.
also when i drag the .avi file to the sequence it prompts - change sequence settings or keep existing settings. if i opt for - change sequence setting yellow render bar appears. in both the options playback jitters.
need solution to this. pl help.

>drag the .avi file
Where did you get that file, and exactly what is inside the AVI wrapper?

  • Premiere Pro CS6 playback freezes, regenerates .pek and .cfa files

When I try to watch something in a sequence, the Program Monitor freezes. The playhead moves in the timeline as usual and the audio plays just fine, but the visual freezes. Sometimes it stops a few seconds after I start playing and sometimes the video never plays at all. When I stop playback, it remains frozen for a while, then resets to the frame the playhead is on.
As I checked different options, I discovered Premiere is regenerating both the .pek and .cfa files every time I open it, even though all of my projects have already conformed. I have it set to store the media files with the project, so I know the preview files have not moved or been deleted. I work on this setup 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and nothing changed since I was in yesterday. It was working fine when I shut it down last night, no one could have logged in while I was gone, and this morning it doesn't work. No updates were installed, no files were moved, no drives switched.
I have searched the internet for help, but all of the forums I've found are at least two months old and recommend installing the 6.0.3 update. I did run updates for all my Adobe software, and it didn't help. I also deleted and re-rendered my peak and cfa files.
One six-month-old forum said that Premiere CS6 cannot playback long AVCHD .m2ts files. Previously I had no problem working with .m2ts files 35 minutes and shorter, or with .mp4 files up to 75 minutes long. The video I'm currently working with is about 75 minutes long. And again, it was working fine yesterday.
Further investigation revealed that playback does not freeze when I import a selection from the Source Monitor (vs. importing from the Bin and trimming in the Timeline) and do not layer clips or apply effects.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.
    Media Spec:
    File type: AVCHD Video
    Resolution: 1920x1080 (1080p), 29 fps
Imported from camera hard drive using PlayMemories Home
    Computer Spec:
    Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
    Windows 7, 64-bit Service Pack 1
Graphics card is Quadro 5000, driver 276.19
OS/boot drive is a solid state 250gig, and files running off a 2TB local hard drive

    I've tried several more things.
The playback does not freeze if I have only one clip in the timeline.
If I have clips on two or more video tracks, it starts freezing.
Once I clear it down to one video track, it takes a couple of seconds (up to 30) to start playing normally again.
Sometimes I can play two tracks for several minutes before it freezes. Sometimes it freezes immediately.
When I open Premiere, I get the "Media Pending" screen for way longer than usual.
I have rebuilt the peak and cfa files, no difference. GPU accelerator is enabled. The latest Adobe updates are installed.
I see a few other forums with similar problems but no solution.
No settings, file formats, or file locations have changed since Monday (the last time CS6 was working properly). After a lot of digging around I found that a Windows Defender Definition update was installed the morning of the day PP started freaking out. I can't get rid of this update.
I edit two or more hours of footage per day. They are lectures, so they are recorded in 1-3 hour chunks. I use two videos simultaneously--one with the professor's powerpoint presentation, and one of the professor. I keyframe the PPT video into the corner, overlaid over the lecturer. I did this for years without problem in CS5.5 and for two months without problem on my current setup.

I'm wondering if it is just a problem with the Mac USB drivers maybe not supporting USB 2 ? (Because I have also installed Window 7 on this same MacBookPro and tested the same software "Zbrush and Premiere Pro" And they both work perfectly on the Bootcamp Windows 7 install, and so its using the same hardware so it has to be the drivers right ?)
Any help would be great, Thanks

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Playback Unusable-PLAYBACK ISSUES

    Hello,
I've just downloaded the Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Trial, but whenever I put a clip in the sequence timeline, the playback stops after a second or so. I filmed my screen to show the problem (computer specs at the end of the video). Is it because the sequence settings do not match the clip's properties? I'm also new to Adobe Premiere.
    Here's the video:

  • Adobe Premiere Won't Playback

Ok just recently Adobe Premiere CS3 stopped playback. I have tried everything, spacebar, play button, L key. All it does is change the little graphic of the play button to a stop button. But there is no video and no audio playing but I can scroll through the timeline without any problems. So what is the problem? It worked before...

Is that a single 120GB HDD? If so, I'd not be surprised that MP4's did not play, or if they did, played smoothly.
As for CS3 working one day, but not the next, then something has likely changed. It could be as simple as an update to the OS killing a driver, or similar, or a HDD finally reaching its limit. Your task will be to try and find what changed. Were you on a PC, my first recommendation would be to update all Audio and Video drivers, and make sure to have the latest version of Apple QT installed. Not sure about drivers on the Mac-side of the street.
For NLE (Non Linear Editing) work, three physicall HDD's is about the min. recommended configuration.
Also, MP3's can be very problematic. I'd convert all of these to AAF (isn't that the Mac equivilent of WAV?), before Import. Far fewer problems.
    Good luck,

  • PE 3.0 -- Video playback jitters -- content pulled from VOB files

Thanks in advance for any advice!   I pulled 10 minutes of video from a DVD into Elements 3.0, edited it on the timeline and exported it to a DVD.  The original content is a dub of a finished TV show burned by a production company.... it's the only copy we can get.  My edit excerpts the part of the show that's about a non-profit I help out.
My final output has "jitters" in shots that have motion.  The faster the motion -- like zooms or pans -- the more noticible the jitter.  You can almost ignore it when playing back on a computer, but on a TV it's really obvious.
The only changes I made to the clips after import were:
Interpret Footage => conform to D1/DV NTSC widescreen 16:9 (1.2)
(so that footage matched the original 16:9 format.)
Where do I start troubleshooting?  The initial project setttings?  Or is this an export problem?
    Thanks for any suggestions.
    Mark
PS: On the original content, it says on screen before the show rolls that the master is "720P 59.94 16:9" -- but I don't know is if that's just the master or also the DVD

Thanks for all the helpful replies. (Sorry I didn't understand the points system; thought I could tag you all as helpful.)    Elements 3.0 doesn't have that DVD or Hard Drive project setting, but it looks like this is where the trouble lies.
Ridiculous thing is, I have Premiere Pro 5.03... but it will not ingest the VOB files.  Each file truncates to 30 seconds, even if the file is already pulled off the DVD and in a folder.   I could not find a solution online to that problem, so I tried Elements which did it easily, except for this jitter.
    AVAILABLE PROJECT PRESET SETTINGS:
In PE 3.0, I can change the default project settings by creating a new default preset.  In the VIDEO section, If I start with DV - NTSC Widescreen (versus Adobe HDV or DV-Pal) I can create a new preset but it apeears my only changable video options are safe areas and display format.  The "Fields" drop down is grayed-out, defaulted to "Lower Field First" and can't be changed.  (Nothing else I change seems to make it available to change.)
    DISPLAY FORMAT dropdown:
        >30 fps drop-frame timecode
        >30 fps NON-drop-frame timecode
        > frames
Are these settings of any use for this problem?
In the GENERAL section, I can open a dialog called PLAYBACK SETTINGS.   Choices there are broken into "Realtime Playback" and "Export."   In Realtime Playback, I can check or uncheck "Desktop Video."   The default is checked, which let's me select an "External Device" or a setting for aspect Ratio Conversion."   External Device Choices are:
         None
         DV 29.97i (720x480)
         DV 25i (720x576)
         DV 23.976p (720x480)
Those same external device choices are available under EXPORT.
Maybe Elements 3.0 just can't solve this problem...  Any thoughts?

  • Premiere Pro CS5 Playback and Performance Issues

I upgraded (2) separate editing work stations to CS5 from CS4 about a month ago. I moved from 4 to 5 to try and get rid of some problems which both work stations were encountering.
The problems since the upgrade are similiar: playback from timeline has intermittent audio drop out and video going to black during playback, (new one)-video locked up but audio kept playing-system hung and had to be rebooted.
Also, when clicking around on the timeline or scrubbing the timeline, Premiere crashes.
This type of performance on playout or timeline usage is consistent on both machines which have indentical setups and builds. None of this happens all the time but happens enough to causes problems with workflow. We edit on the work stations, dub files to playback system for air, and use a shared server to move files back and forth as needed but files are always stored locally instead of using straight from server.
    These machines are:
    Premiere Pro CS5.02
OS  WIndows 7 Pro 64 bit
    12 GB Ram, DDR3-1333 (6-2GB modules)
CPU Intel Xeon Quad Core [email protected] GHZ, 2 processors, 8 MB Cache

    (3) 1 TB SATA 2 hard drives, 7200RPM, 32 MC (3 TB, RAID0 STorage) 2.16 TB of space avail
Nvidia GE Force 9800 GT Graphics card, DUAL DVI, 1 GB
REaltek High Def Audio, Drivers 6.0.1.5953
    (1) monitor in use
output of system runs to ADVC-700 breakout box to feed playback system
I have all of my software installed on C: (309 GB of 500 GB avail)
I have all of my videos files stored on D: (Raid Storage with 2.16 TB of 3 TB avail)
The only changes I've made since installing CS5 would be to change the auto save from 20 minutes to 60 minutes. Don't know if an auto save would cause an issue on playback as I've noted above.
I'm not a computer whiz by any stretch of the imagination but I can follow directions if given for testing/eval.

Do the PPBM5 Benchmark and send the results to me by PM, in addition to sending the results to Bill as indicated. I'll have a look at what might be going on here.

  • Premiere Pro CC2014 Playback issues, Render issues, Serious Error issues

Here's my problem.  Premiere Pro CC worked amazing. Never had any issues with playback, rendering - nothing. However, CC 2014 appears to be quite different. Yesterday I literally had to restart Premiere every 20 minutes! Out of no where video playback would stop. The playhead would continue and I could still here audio, but I either saw a still frame of video or it would go completely black. The only way to get out of Premiere was to force quit. I also was not able to save the process I had made over the last 20 minute session.  You can imagine my frustration as I have clients in with me on this edit. I need to know a fix and I need to know it quick. If Adobe wants to be in the professional game, they need to fix it ASAP.

  • Premiere Pro CC - Playback issues, rendering and export

    RAM: 8GB
    Intel I7 Processor
    64 Bit Operating System
    Intel HD Graphics Card

    Hello all -
I am trying to edit, render, and export a video for play on YouTube.  The source is a Camtasia Studio 8 Screen capture with a 1080P High Defintion PTZ camera that is hooked up to the computer as the "webcam".  We recorded the screen, used Camtasia to produce and edit, and saved it as a .MOV
I then transferred the .MOV to my computer and opened Premiere Pro CC.  I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos and have a read a lot of threads, so I decided that a simple edit job would be the easiest and fastest.  I have attempted this 3 times now, each try has been a failure.
    Attempt 1:
Opened a new project.  Imported my video.  Dropped it into a sequence.  Added an opening and closing title card, plus lower third captions to video, and added transitions.  Playback was choppy, so I read that it needed to be rendered.  I rendered the sequence (it took most of the evening).  When I went to play it back, I just got footage that said "Media pending" in 7 different languages.
Attempt 2:  I decided not to render, just export.  Followed the steps above, but instead of rendering, and exported it.  I exported as media file, chose the TechSmith Capture Codec, and .AVI as the format.  Let it do it's thing.  The result was very fuzzy, plus the audio was about 10 seconds out of sync from the video.
Attempt 3:  I didn't get very far here, because when I started playback to check my audio syncing, my computer started flipping between Premiere and my desktop, just swtiching back and forth.
Any help here, suggestions, would be very much appreciated.  I need to post this video for work as soon as I can.

  • Why does Adobe Premiere CS6 slow playback after importing some audio?

    Adobe Premiere CS6.0 v6.0.2
    Mac Pro:
    1, 4 core - 3.2ghz CPU
    16gb ram (4 sticks of 4gb @ 1066 MHz)
1 Tb dive with OS/Apps on
    2Tb 7200 RPM media drive
    ATI Radeon HD 5770
    Sequence:
    30Fps
    1920x1080
    Media:
mostly .MFX files from a Canon XF100 however these clips commonly play nice with Premiere.
    Issue:
After importing some audio clips (.wav/.mp3, possibly other extensions) to the timeline on occasion the video playback will become choppy and the audio will slow down 3% creating any voices in the video to become deeper and slows down.  Choppy video playback as well.  The problem is very annoying but  it can be temporarily fixed with a computer restart but it will come back.
    Things to note:
Creating a rendered ID (Exporting the movie out to a .mov) the slowed choppy video does not appear in the final movie.
    Temp. Solution:
The only way I can fix this problem is by restarting the computer.  Simply restarting Adobe Premiere and closing any non-essential applications does not fix the problem.
Any ideas on how to fix this are much apperciated.

Try converting your MP3 to AIFF ,QT or something else Macs like. See if that helps.

  • Premiere CS 5 playback stops

I have a dilemma, can anyone help please?
I have Premiere CS 5.0.3 running on a year or two old Mac pro on OS 10.6.6. Just recently I've had the playback stop after a second or less no matter where in the timeline or which project I open. Playback just doesn't work. The problem started after we ran an Adobe update; coincidence or no. We upgraded the RAM to 16gig, we moved the capture footage on and off the same drive to see if that was the problem. I've even tried to searching out the com.apple.audio.AggregateDevices.plist file to delete but it doesn't seem to exist on my computer.
Also, the video card is 32bit.
What could the issue be? I'm trying not to reinstall Premiere because that's my last straw.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum.
Can you give us a bit more to work with?
The Sequence Preset, and the full details of the source footage would be great.
The specs, and especially the CPU and I/O sub-system configuration would be useful too.
This ARTICLE will give you some tips on what might hold the key.

  • Premiere Elements 9 - Playback only works on Admin account

Hi, I'm running Premiere Elements on a couple of iMacs 2.93GHz, Core i7, 8GB RAM, OSX 10.6.8. This is in a library so we have student accounts on all of our machines. Under the admin account Premiere works fine, no crashing and playback is working. However, on the student side whenever the same clip is trying to be played the playhead does not move, it sticks on the first frame and there is no audio. The only visible difference is that the play icon changes to pause. I was wondering if anyone would know a good way around this. I have tried the 9.01 patch to no success. It seems that the student side does not have permissions to some component. Hoping someone could shed some light on this issue. Thanks in advance.

  • Premiere Pro CS5 playback stops with Canon DSLR footage

I am using Canon DSLR footage (5D and 1D). When I import the footage for the first time everything works OK. If I save, close and reopen the project without doing anyother activity on my PC everything continues to work OK.
My problem is that after I close the project and start doing other activity on the PC e.g. using Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash etc and not necessarily all of them, and then reopen Premiere Pro I then start to get a problem with playback stopping on the timeline after about 5-10 seconds.
What I have found is that if I import a fresh Canon DSLR file from the camera then everything starts working fine again until I start using other programs.
There must be something on my PC that is causing a conflict but I can't work out what it is.
Are there any known issues that might help me solve this problem.
My PC is running Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit. I have two x 2.66Ghz quad core processors (NOT hyperthreading), 12 GB RAM, Nvidia FX 4800 graphics card.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I have finally resolved this problem and it is several weeks since the "fix" with no repeat of the problem.
I uninstalled Nero from my system and straight away the problem resolved.
I noticed that prior to removing Nero that it was taking priority over Quicktime which, I think, was causing the conflict with codec for the Canon DSLR files in Premier.
It has now been 4 weeks since I removed Nero and there has been no sign of the problem of the video footage stopping in playback on the timeline.

  • Premiere CC C300 playback crash

    Hi there,
I have been running CS6 on my machine without any issues. Today I downloaded and installed CC 7.2.1 (4) and uninstalled CS6. I create a new project, and import a mix of C300 and 5D footage into bins. Everything seems to import without any trouble. When I open up the bins and begin to view C300 clips, Premiere crashes within about 15 seconds to a minute. I have created a new project and reimported the footage, only to run into the same problem. The point at which it crashes is not consistent or tied to a specific clip, but always happens very shortly after I begin viewing clips. After the crash happens, I can re-open the project and often succesfully play the clip that previously crashed Premiere only to have it crash while I am viewing another clip.
    My specs are below.
    Premiere CC 7.2.1 (4)
    OS X 10.9.2
Macbook Pro Retina 15 inch, 2.7 Ghz i7, 16 GB RAM
I am viewing .MXF clips with the crashes happen. I get a OS X "Adobe Premiere Pro CC quit unexpectedly" error. I am running no other software at the same time, and have no third party codecs or effects installed.

    Hello,
Did you ever find out what was causing your problem? Unfortunately, I do not have an answer, but a similar problem. I'm running Premiere CC v.7.2.2 on Windows 7, and when I edit footage from the Sony EX3 (.MP4) and Canon T3i (.MOV) I have no problems. However, when I try to use footage from the Canon C300, I run into a lot of problems. I've already changed playback resolution to half, but I still get really laggy playback. Clips switch back to "media pending" often, and indefinitely. Sometimes my playback window only shows black even though video is definitely present. One time the playback window showed the video with crazy florescent colors that were not present. I also start having issues using Dynamic Link between After Effects and Premiere. I'll import a Premiere sequence into After Effects with no problem, but then randomly the link will be broken and I have to reconnect over and over. I have never encountered this Dynamic Link problem, ever. Eventually, this all usually ends in the frozen "not responding" screen in Premiere and I have to force quit.
    Anyone?

  • Premiere CC 2014 playback and rendering issues

Definitely having problems that I wasn't having just a couple of days ago.
Timeline, 4 minute music video mainly7 all on V1 and then V2 with just a few short shots overlayed using opacity/screen.  I use this technique a lot and always worked more than fine in Premiere CC.
So, I made some minor changes today.  Select in/out on entire project and hit render in/out.
First thing I notice is the progress bar keeps jumping back and forward; ie - 20.0% then 19.8% then 20.2% and so on (two steps forward one step back).
Then noticed...  I hit render and it says rendering 1 of 20 previews...  ie 500 frames.  Then it gradually changes... 1 of 21 previews 510 frames.. 1 of 22 previews 520 frames etc etc and etcetera... and basically never end... just hangs around 98.8% until I was waiting for over half an hour for something that would usually take seconds in the previous version.  I keep having to hit cancel on the render.
Then, I look at the render bar on the timeline.. all is green (zoomed in, no yellow anywhere).. hit play and it pauses for a split second here and there.  Completely randomly.  Also certain shots just completely freeze.
I didn't have any of these problems in the previous version of CC and at present it's not suitable for client playback.  Nowhere near it.
    Any updates?
    Thanks

I selected the entire project that was completely rendered and hit render and it did 0 of 2 frames 1 video preview.. then 4 frames 2 video previews up to about 50 previews.  Eventually looks like it has rendered.  Hit play and the video clips its pausing on are now completely green shots.  Not had this on PPro or CC before.  I have a Quadro 2000 and usually runs perfectly.  In fact there is not chance of it being my card.  It's definitely to do with the update.
