Premiere CS3 lauch Encore CS4...

I have installed CS4 and kept CS3 on same system (Vista x64), as I have projects ongoing under Cs3.
Under Premiere Pro CS3, if I export to ENCORE, it now launch Encore CS4. I was used to CS3 proceeding to DVD burning after different steps. Maybe it's just a matter of learning the rope of Encore CS4, but I just wonder if a project under Premiere CS3 can effectively proceed under Encore CS4 for DVD burning ?
When I get there, nothing happen as it was under Encore CS3... Or Am i just missing a command to burn the DVD ?
Thanks,
Rob

lanstrad2008,
Rather than fight with the linking of PP to Encore3/4, I'd look to Jim's suggestion.
In a nutshell, you Export from PP, and then Import into Encore (of your choice). There are other ways to do this, but the fool-proof method is (assuming SD footage to DVD-Video) to:
1.) Export>Movie and choose DV-AVI elemental stream (Video ONLY).
2.) Export>AME and choose PCM/WAV, or AC3 elemental stream (Audio ONLY).
3.) Open Encore (of your choice), define your Project and Import>As Timeline, your DV-AVI file.
4.) Import>As Asset, your WAV, or AC3.
5.) From Encore Project Panel, drag your Audio file to the proper Timeline.
6.) Do your navigational Assets, i.e. Menus, Playlists etc.
7.) Check Project
8.) Preview
9.) Let Encore set the Transcode settings for your target output, i.e. DVD-5, or DVD-9.
Good luck,

  • Exporting from Premiere CS3 to Encore CS3

Hi all, I wonder if anybody has the answer for this. I have been really excited about the new feature that lets us export from a Premier timeline and open straight into an Encore project.
But what I want to know is, is it possible to perform this type of export for multiple sequences or timelines so they all open in the same encore project?
What I am doing at the moment requires 2 films on one authored disc. I am currently exporting straight to Encore which creates a new project each time, closing the unused projects tghen importing the exported video into my main Encore project manually.

More of a Premiere question, but no, it's not possible to do this with multiple sequences.
Instead, let Premiere create the Encore project for you from one sequence, then export your extra sequences to AVI or MPEG-2/H.264 from Premiere and import them as assets into Encore, where you can then add them to timelines and link to them.

  • Premiere & Encore CS4 crashing on exit

    Hey,
i just installed (twice..) Premiere Pro and Encore CS4 on a NEW computer running windows 7 x64.
Everytime i quit either PP or Encore, i got a message telling me to send report.

    thanks in advance

atv- I've experienced similar issues- usually when this happens to me is because I open a project with a lot of media and close it before all the media is loaded or when in a large project-one thing I've done to combat this problem is for big projects I usually start a new project when re-editing it later down the road and importing the sequences I need into the new proj rather than work in the same older project--
Please make sure when you are using prem or encore that you close any unneeded programs you have open as this sometimes creates problems
how much space do you have available on your c/program drive?

  • Premiere and Encore CS4 crashes and issues on Toshiba Laptop

I have a Toshiba Qosmino Laptop, 4 GB ram, Windows XP Sev pac 3, Nvida Gforce 7300 video. new 7500 RPM Hard drive
The two programs that crash all the time are Premiere and Encore CS4
Premiere will start some times and sometimes not. I've tried a new projects, importing a CS3 project seems to make no difference. Takes approx 2-3 minuites to load. Click on a imported video clip or timeline and crash.
Encore crashes "EVERYTIME"... tried to import from Premiere into Encore.. when the timeline is clicked in Encore it crashes everytime. Tried a new project in Encore same problem. Started Encore alone and same problem... first click and crash.
I'm not getting a blue screen just the Adobe crash report screen asking me to send a report... have done that many times.
    Things that I have tried:
Had CS3 (BTY it ran fine)
Uninstalled CS3 and uninstalled CS4. Reinstalled CS4 same problems.
    Defrag hard drive....
    Reinstall CS4
Updated video drivers to latest version
    Reloaded older video drivers
Did MSCONFIG and stropped all unneeded processes
All the rest of the CS4 programs open and run fine.
    Any help is appreciated!!

Sounds like a problematic video driver or codec issue. You need to update all your drivers and try again. Also get rid of any unnecessary codecs. Try opening files in various formats and see if the same happens. Also you should search the KnowledgeBase, it contains a lot of information about this kind of problem.
If all fails, call Adobe Tech Support...

  • Premiere CS4 to Encore CS4 Export  Quality Problems

I recently purchased a non-linear editing machine with an RTX2 Matrox Card and CS4 Professional. After six or seven projects, I finally noticed that all my imported .avi files exported through Adobe Media Encoder and burned through Encore CS4 are not as crisp, sharp, or look like the original high quality SD footage after the DVD is burned like it always used to look in CS2. ( jumped from CS2 to CS4)
These DVDs were of plays, football, and basketball games. It seems that when the camera shoots a close up, the video looks fine but after you shoot from a distance, there is a considerable difference in the footage. ( alomost blurry) I just caught this and nobody has complained but I watched one of my older DVDs I produced with CS2 and it had no quality loss whatsoever. There is a night and day difference
For the sequences, I am using Matrox SD, NTSC, Standard, 720 x 486  and capturing with firewire through the Matrox card. The raw footage is beautiful. The Video Preview Option is NTSC Standard and the Codec is NTSC Matrox DV/DV Cam.
I can playback a timeline from the Matrox card and burn directly to a DVD burner and the footage is perfect, but when I export, I have chosen Microsoft .avi file, Matrox DV/DV Cam/ MPEG2, and MPEG2DVD.
I have even changed the sequences codec to Matrox MPEG-2 I-Frame and tried exporting using that out of Adobe Media Encoder and am getting the same results.
None of my customers have complained yet, but I definitely do not want to continue producing almost blurry DVDs.
I am using Adobe Premiere CS4 Version 4.1.0 and Encore CS4 Version 4.0.1.048 and Matrox Version 4.1.0.23
Can this problem be related to and eliminated by updating my CS4 Production Suite and my Matrox Software.
I was wondering if anyone had experienced this same issue and what solution they came up with or if anyone knew if the updates would correct this important issue. I just filmed a lengthy play that I have to author through Encore CS4 and I cannot release any more of my productions until this problem is solved. This is a big dollar production and I need some assistance on this matter as soon as possible. Thanks  Jimi White

Thanks for taking the time to help me out. I just purchased my non-linear with CS4 Production Suite and the Matrox RTX2. I have several projects that I am working on right now and I was advised by Adobe, Matrox, and my non-linear vendor, 1 Beyond, to finish those projects before performing updates.
I also found out that If I export using the MPEG2  8Mbps, it cleared up the video dramatically. We had to go through a number of export presets in order to find out what worked best in Encore. I am going to try to finish the project now and will advise on the results.
This is a basketball highlight DVD and that's when I noticed the problem. My other productions were photos to music, and non sporting events and I didn't notice any problems with those DVDs ( they actually looked decent. Worst part about it was, I finished the project once and burned 18 DVDs, and then reviewed one of them and found the problem. I have to start over and just eat the DVDs printed and all.
Thanks again, it was nice of you to get back to me.

  • Problem opening a Premiere cs3 project in Premiere cs4

i recently did a clean install on a new machine with adobe premiere cs4
i attempted to open the project in adobe cs4 that i created in adobe cs 3
( i confirmed that the project isnt corrupted as the same project plays fine on another machine that has cs3 running)
Here is what happens When i open the project in cs4 it goes through the stages below and keeps looping and indexing.
*first pass: i first see adobe indexing the project and there is a  media pending display in the program display and on the time line the thumbnails have not been created where the edits are.
    * second pass: adobe finishes the indexing and then i see adobe looping again to conforming the video again, there is still a media pending display in the program display  but this time the thumbnails have appeared on the timeline and i see the subclips in the project bin.
    * Adobe stops indexing but there is still the media pending display on the program display so then i grab the timeline slider to scroll throught the project and then the indexing process starts all over again in this endless loop.
The project is located on a local drive and i turned off indexing on the drive.
I also tried deleting the rendered and preview files from the cs3 copied project , hoping that
CS4 would recreate everything. and still no luck
Any specific steps that i can do to trouble shoot this problem

When one Opens a CS3 Project in CS4, there is a lot of work that needs to be done. I'd Open the Project, and go get some coffee (decaf, so you will not loose your patience). Just let it do its thing with no input to the computer at all. Come back in 5 - 10 mins. and see if all have been completed. Be patient.
If you are actually getting a loop in the Conforming, Indexing and the rest - remember be patient - then close down and reboot. Try Importing the CS3 Project into a New Project in CS4 to see if things improve.
BTW did I mention being patient?
    Good luck,

  • Premiere Pro CS4 (which includes Encore CS4) Failed to install

HI everyone,  I am trying to reinstall Premiere Pro (which also includes Encore CS4) since I seem to be having some problems with the Blu-ray authoring in Encore.  I uninstalled Premiere Pro from the Add/Delete Programs in Win XP Pro Control panel.  After uninstalling, I'm trying to reinstall Premiere Pro/Encore programs.  However, I'm getting an "Error Code 2" for Dynamic Link, Encore CS4, Encore CS4 Codecs, and the Encore US Language Pack.  Then the install stops and fails to complete the installation.
Anyone have any ideas what's happening here?  My system specs are below.  I don't know what's wrong in order to fix it.
    ~thanks, Gail
    Win XP Pro SP2
    Q6600 Quad Core Processor

    PK5 Deluxe ASUS MoBo
Not connected to internet.  No anti-virus software, firewall, or internet/Lan connected or activated.

I'd just suggest to run CS4 clean tool one time or (better) twice, after uninstallation.

In this way you can clean register also.
Good choice to switch off antiviruses.
Take also a look to the disks, are they clean?

  • CS4 - Does one need to Premiere render before Encore transcode?

    Production Suite CS4
Question: Does one need to Premiere render before Encore transcode?
I have an Encore asset which is dynamically linked to a Premiere sequence. Do I need to render the sequence in Premiere before transcoding it in Encore i.e. is Premiere rendering necessary? Thanks in advance.

Adobe Encore technical support told me that Encore will not automatically render the Premiere sequence. You must manually render the sequence in Premiere before transcoding in Encore.

  • Encore CS3 Is Stuck Importing As Timeline from Premiere CS3

I just purchased CS3 as an upgrade from CS2 and Exported to Encore from Premiere CS3. I've gotten to the screen that says Importing at Timeline and have been at 49% progress for over 30 minutes. The .m2V, .m2v.xmpses, .wav, and .xmp files were all created but I'm stuck here with the Import.
I'm running on a Windows XP SP2, 4 GB RAM, 2 Dual Core processors machine. I loved CS2. It worked great but there have been multiple problems with CS3.
    Please help with Encore.
    Thanks

This is aimed a Premiere Pro, but may help - First, work through the steps here http://ppro.wikia.com/wiki/Troubleshooting

  • Premiere CS3 avi to Encore CS3 DVD

I have captured an avi video in Premiere CS3. I want to burn it to a DVD in Encore CS3. Do I want to create an MPEG 2 file first and then send it to Encore or do I want to send it directly as an avi file? I want the DVD without menus.

    > What is the advantage of creating the MPEG2 file in Premiere CS3?
1.) If you have a 24p timeline, you can export it as 24p MPEG2 -- for some reason Encore will not encode 24p
2.) You dont need to create an intermediary AVI file.
    a) A lot of folks think that DV is the ideal intermediary for DVD. It is not. The format is quite lossy; especially for graphics, photos, animation, titles, etc.
    b) Alternatively, you can export as a lossless or uncompressed format, but these files are very large for long projects -- and Premiere does not output uncompressed very efficiently anyway. Better to use a lossless codec like Lagarith.
    c) Jeff's approach is a fine one also, but this will only work for a single sequence (which is totally appropriate to the OPs needs, however). For multiple sequences, it is best to use lossless AVI files as I mentioned in my last point.

  • Testversion Premiere CS3: Encore kann nicht genutzt werden

    Hallo Zusammen
Was mache ich falsch? Kann es sein, dass die Testversion nicht vollumfänglich genutzt werden kann?
Herzlichen Dank für euer rasches Feedback.
    Liebe Grüsse aus der Schweiz.
    Reto

Genau, du hast es erkannt. Du kannst alles ausprobieren aber nix brennen.

  • Can I import a menu from Premiere elements 7(the Popcorn menu) into Encore CS4?

Can I import a menu from Premiere elements 7(the Popcorn menu) into Encore CS4?
If so how do I accomplish this act?
Are their additional menus available for Encore CS4?

The Menus in PrE are in Menu Sets. Each set is a Main Menu and a Scene Selection Menu. As PrE does the authoring semi-automatically, there are many "extras" in those PSD's, in the Button Layer Sets. All you have to do is make a Copy of your two Menus into a separate folder, so that you do not worry about messing up your Menu Sets in PrE. I'd do this in a new sub-folder in the Encore Library folder hierarchy. Then, Open each of these two Menus in PS. Go in and clean out all of the other languages for the Text and Button Text. Match the Layer Set/Button Layer Set names to those naming conventions in the Encore Library Menus, as you will not be getting any semi-automation. Where you do not need, say a Next Button, just eliminate that Button's Layer Set. Remember, PrE will do this semi-automatically, plus will give you the number of Scene Selection Menus, that your Project calls for - Encore will not. You must count the Scenes, divide by the number of Buttons on that Scene Selection Menu, and do Copies of that Menu, to accommodate what you require.
As for Encore, it comes with a full compliment of Menus, Buttons, and other Assets, like EM files (Templates), with Motion and Audio Assets. All can be completely customized in PS. Note: in PSElements, I do not believe that you can create Layer Sets, so that will be a limitation. The full PS has no limitations, with the single exception that to change Button Sub-picture Highlight colors, this must be done in Encore's Menu Editor, unless it's been added to PS CS5.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - remember, work on Copies of the two Menus in the PrE Menu Set, and NOT on the originals, or you will be doing a Repair Install to get those back.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 to Encore encoding time.

Hi everyone, I have a move timeline, and its about 1h 30m long, and I'm just trying to burn it to disc to play in my DvD player. Currently it is an AVI file. I understand that to do this with Adobe, i have imported the AVI file to my timeline in Premiere Pro and then I must export to Encore, direct to disk, no menus. I've got all this working however the encoding time is enormous, 30+ hours, for such a simple movie should not be right, I was wondering if there are other faster options? Im running a 2.66 Ghz 1.5 gb Ram windows xp computer.

    > Currently it is an AVI file.
Why not put the AVI straight into Encore, bypassing Premiere altogether?
For 1h 30min a long encoding time is normal, your CPU is not the greatest which is why it takes long to encode.
Encoding is CPU intensive. Premiere CS3 takes advantage of more cores, trust me it works.

  • Dynamic Link Premiere to Encore CS4

I'm under the impression that each time you export from Premiere to Encore you have to start a new project. Am I correct? The only way to get your Premiere edits into Encore is to be in Encore and use the procedure =  File > Dynamic Link > Import from Premiere.  I have completed this step an I see  in my Encore Project Window a Premiere sequence, but it's not the current edits I did in Premiere. Form Premiere I do a File>Dynamic Link>Export to Encore routine. It creates a new project. I check the timeline in the new project and it is the updated edits I did in Premiere. But I can't get the updated edits into my old Encore project. How do I get my new Permiere edits into Encore project.

No, not correct.  But it is a bit hard to find in help.  someone added this comment on the help page below:
Director Jones: Just drag sequences from Premiere project window and drop into an existing encore project (or) Open your existing encore project and try "File->Adobe Dynamic Link->Import Premiere sequence" option.

  • Premiere CS3 "export to Encore" missing

So I purchased the CLP version of Premiere and receive Encore and OnLocation serials with it. When I install PP and then install Encore, I can not export from PP to Encore (grayed out).
How do I get PP and Encore to talk to each other?

P.S. This may be a reasonable feature request. If you have a sequence highlighted in the Project Panel I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to export it (etc.) as if it were open in the timeline window.
    Cheers
