Premiere CS4, problems after exporting

So I just finished exporting/rendering the clip I made. And I have a slight problem with it's output, which happens to be darker than the original wherever I had slowed down the speed of parts in the clips. So now everything that is the same speed as the original is exactly as the original which is good, and everything I've changed the speed on is darker than the original, which isn't good. (I'm assuming that speeding up a part has the same effect, though I haven't tried.)
I figured it did that with slowing down clips before because I did a tryout with some 1080p material. I blamed myself on that vid because I was tired and figured I probably knocked some wrong button but it turns out that it's happening with this video again.
Not that I probably don't have myself to blame anyway because I'm not that video-savvy.
Extra info; 1280*720p 59.94fps is the original footage, exported it into the exact same 1280*720p 59.94fps. From .mov to .mov as well. Quality should be the exact same as before.

I should probably add that I use two computers. One is a crumby laptop that I use for the internet, which I am using now, and the other is the computer that I described in my first post, which is for work. My work computer is never connected to the internet unless it needs to be to install something. So, I don't have any AV or firewall to slow things down. The only programs I have installed that run in the background are the "ATI Catalyst Control Center," for my video card, and the "Emu Patch Mix DSP Services," for my sound card. They both use minimal memory.
I have two drives:
Western Digital 150 GB with 120 GB still free: This drive has all of my applications installed on it, including Windows XP SP2.
Seagate 300 GB with 120 GB still free: This drive is strictly for storage. There are no programs installed on it.
Thanks for responding!

    hello,
i recently started usining premiere c6 and after exported my project to mpeg-dvd i noticed that sound quality is reasonably lost,  than exported sound  separatedly without video to wav and result was the same bad. The imported sound source was really good, recorded in studio- wav 24 bit 48000. Before i used cs3 and never had such a sound problem after export video.
    thank you very much,

It's difficult to speculate without hearing the original and the export.  Can you upload them?

  • PP CS4 Problem with exported H.264 .mp4 video. Can't AME do proper encoding?

Trying to export a Video of ~60mins using the H.264 Codec .mp4 which converts in AME successfully, allthough when playing back the f
ile, it has problems after ~40mins. When i try to jump to a later point in the timeline to playback i.e. 48th minute or 50:10 or wha
tever, the image freezes, audio continues and it takes 10-20 secs untill the video image continues.
I tried different playback programms like VLC,Windows media etc. and different compressions 2-5Mbps as CBR and VBR1 / 2, nothing cha
    nged.
Source is Sony DV and i have some still images as .png. Since the first 30mins work alright, i thought i try out if something with t
he source material in the timeline is causing the problem , so i cut after the 30st minute and copied the first 30mins behind that
to get a 60mins video, but exaclty the same playback issue after ~40th minute.
Is this an most likely a problem caused by AME using H.264 .mp4 Codec?
Other videos i did months before in the same way using the same source material worked fine. Adobe Premiere and AME is up to date!
    Thank you

hmn sounds like it makes sense. I have seen that "i-Frame in GOP" somewhere in PP i think.
Allthough i recall that i had videos i exported which played fine till the end with no delay at a later seek distance.
I noticed that quicktime player has the same issue but is much quicker than VLC.
Is there a work arround or alternative? Can it be improved?
    I need H.264 & .mp4 for webpodcast on vimeo.com
The only thing which looks strange to me ist that the lenght of the delay showing the images (i guess finding it) takes almost the same time
as on other later point like at the very end. Id assume that if its normal behavior the delay should become bigger and bigger with a later point in time ?
Appreciate your time to answer jim,Thanks

  • Audio sync problems after export

I've been having this problem occasionally ever since starting to use Premiere Pro CS6, and it's now also happening again in the latest version of CC (just updated to 7.2.2 on W7, 64bit):
A perfectly synced sequence that plays fine in its rendered preview loses sync with its audio (or the audio with the video) after exporting to mp4. (preset H.264 format). I have tried trouble shooting by deleting all render files, restarted application and computer, played with different media players... to no avail.
Admittedly the raw footage happens to be a wmv file. Which I know is not ideal. But what bugs me is that everything is perfectly in sync up to the point of creating the export file. That makes no sense. I'm about to counteract this shift now by separating the audio from the video and making up the frame difference manually, but it feels wrong to do that and is a silly hack to something the software shouldn't mess up in the first place.
    Any ideas?

Holy cow, that was easy. You were right, that worked. Doooh.
    Thanks.

  • Help with stuttering/jittering problem AFTER export

    Hi all,
I'll describe the problem, then the solutions I've tried. First, my system is a Dell Precision 690 3.0Ghz dual core, 2Gb ram, win XP pro service pack 3, Premiere CS4. I also updated to the latest nVidia drivers (8 Jan 09, ver 181.20) which fixed a separate crashing problem with CS4.
Here's the problem. My video in the timeline previews perfectly. No jittering, stuttering, or flickering. When I export my video, I always get some scenes jitter or stutter (the action in the scene jumps around back and forth). This generally occurs in the same places of a scene. I don't have any stills or freeze frames.
I've read some of the forum threads on flicker and stutter, but they mainly apply to a frozen frame, or picture. I've played with the following with no effect: anti-flicker, gaussian blur, increasing my bit rate, exporting to different formats (mpeg1, avi, wmv).
My frame rate is 29.97 drop frame. It wouldn't allow me to change my field order. Other settings are NTSC, multiplexer (Mpeg1) (I'm not sure what that does), multiplexer bit rate=variable, video bit rate tried at CBR= 3.0Mbps, and VBR1 (min=1, avg=3,max=4.5).
This is driving me crazy as my timeline preview is perfect. Please help!!!
Thanks very much in advance! Also, is CS3 less problematic than CS4?
    RickyRoma

    Ricky:
The successful export was based on a time consuming troubleshooting work-around.
This was a corporate video that was played at a fairly large meeting. Several months later other departments of the company wanted to use the same video, but with some shot changes that are relevant to their departments. In the meantime, we upgraded to CS4 and had to open the CS3 project with CS4 (We uninstalled CS3).
I narrowed down the jitter problem to a graduating Gaussian blur added to a PSD on Video layer 1 that had an image above it on Video layer 2 with a transparent background. Gaussian blur and fast blur cause unacceptable image shake when the timeline is rendered and the shaking exists in the exported AVI. Fortunately, I was able to overlay segments of the original CS3 exported avi over the shaking areas in the new CS4 project because those areas were not changed.
The overlay presented yet another minor problem. The aspect ratio of a widescreen NTSC video exported from CS3 is about 8 pixels wider than that exported from CS4. So I had to stretch the old CS3 overlayed avi segments to a place on the timeline where the aspect ratio change was not detectable.
*It is possible that one of the editors stretched the width of the CS3 avi. One person in the forum did confirm though that CS3 exported avi's with a slightly wider aspect ratio than CS4.
We had a few other weird problems with this converted from CS3, CS4 project:
1.) Certain still image transitions failed to work. They would appear normal until rendered. The exported avi would be missing the transitions.
I found a workaround... For whatever reason hitting the "reset" icon in the Effects Control pallet (keyframe added) fixed the missing transition problem.
2.) Some timelapse, scaled down P2 1080i footage on the timeline exported with an odd unintended effect. The sky with clouds would hold a few frames, then jump ahead. Kind of a stop-start effect that was not in the original footage.
    Didn't find a work-around.
3.) A still image at the end of the video shook violently in the export.
I fixed that by being able to overlay the original CS3 avi over this area.

  • Premiere CS4 crashes after installing Quicktime 7

I reinstalled the CS4 package after having some unexplainable problems, one of which was Quicktime crashes.
I did the clean install, with the Microsoft cleanup utility and all that.
    It ran just fine.
Then I did the 4.2.1 update and everything was running great.
Then, I installed Quicktime directly from a freshly downloaded inst aller from Quicktime.com
After this, as soon as I open a Premiere project, even a new, empty project, it crashes immediately.

Now that everything is working, You should buy software to make a full backup of your hard drive to an external USB hard drive... which makes restoring very easy
The product I use is at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm
Image runs off of a bootable CD via Linux (the Zip you download includes a program to make the bootable CD) and it reads EVERYTHING on the drive, even the hidden registration information, so everything is restored when needed... and you may restore the image to a brand new drive and not have to re-install anything
Please note that I own no part of Image, and I don't get a referral fee (that is just a plain web link) but I use the program and it has saved me a LOT of trouble when I had a hard drive die... and I was able to restore everything and not have to re-install or re-activate a single program, from Windows on up

  • Annoying problem after exporting to itunes

    Hi all,
After exporting edited music files into itunes from garageband, there is a few seconds of silence at the end of each file. This is annoying to me because I like my music to change immediately after the last note has been played... Any ideas on how to fix this problem/limitation?
Please note, the files were originally MP3's that I ripped from my personal CD collection. I do not have crossfade playback enabled in itunes.
    Thanks in advance,
    rawbertow789
P.S. I searched the forums before posting this, but I could have missed something.

Oh, man. This is the greatest!
I have had a bunch of songs that have had front and back end silence or other crap that I wanted out and the way I did it was to export the whole thing to Itunes, then open that file in CD spin Doctor, create a track in that cutting the unwanted part(s), then re-save, then delete the original imported songs in Itunes....a very round about and time consuming way to do this.
I have seen this option, but to me it seemed like the only function was to just repeat the GB song over again. It never occured to me that you could select a "section" and export that.
    This is terrific
    Thanks.

  • Audio Sync problem after exporting

    App : Imovie
    Device : Ipad 2
    iOS : 4.3.3
    Rushes : MP4 from a FLIP camera
    Audio track : m4a
The project is around 9 minutes. Sync ok in Imovie. After exporting, the sync is ok in the beginning but loosing it more and more as the movie goes.......i tried all the options on exporting, nothing changes. This is getting me mad......Any solutions ?

I am assuming this is because the way the flip camera embeds the audio.
The problem with editing non-iframe video is that it does not have all seperate frames.
And so the audio is sync in blocks to video.
I assume that the reason iMovie iOS is stated as only supporting video shot on an iOS device is that this video has a "standard" way to sync audio.
There are many different ways to encode mp4s.
Editing a non-Apple iOS standard video may give you these problems.
So the only real solution I can give is to convert all your video to the same standard as the iPad shoots.
You should tell Apple here, and ask for a fix:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/imovie_iOS.html
And also email other editing app creators and ask them to port to the iPad.
Then you will have more options to edit then just iMovie iOS.

  • Premiere Pro freezes after exporting with Media Encoder

So I'm running the latest version of CC.
Mac Pro, OSX 10.9.2, 8-Core Xeon, 24GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5870 1GB
I've got a very simple and straight forward timeline. After sending "Exporting Media" via queue to Media Encoder, everything exports fine. But after returning to Premiere, it has become impossibly slow--practically frozen. No crash, no error message, just takes about 60 seconds for any clicks to register. I click save project, and the saving progress bar does not visibly progress, yet it seems to actually successfully save the project, because closing and launching premiere, the file is saved up-to-date just fine.
So for the past few days, I've been saving --> export/queue timeline --> quit premiere --> allow queue to complete --> then relaunch premiere... Of course, this is only a temporary work around.
Now, if I "Export" the media only without queueing in Encoder, it does fine and premiere remains stable and normal.
    Ideas?

Exact same problem here, plus exports are slow

  • Problem after exporting

    Hello,
I am a relatively new user of premiere elements 9 and i'm working on windows Vista.
When i am about to export my .pre file to .flv to have a video to put on the internet (not youtube but commercial site) i always preview my project after its been rendered and everything seems correct but when the file is exported in .flv some images are not at the same place as i see them when i preview the project on the preview screen.
This is a big problem for me because i use images over my videos a lot.
    thanks for everything
    Jean-Luc

This is a bug in the program and sometimes does happen, Jean-Luc. No one is yet sure why this is happening or how to fix it.
In the meantime, one solution is to use Share/Computer/AVI to output your video as an AVI. Then open a new project and place your AVI on the timeline.
Since you'll then be using a completed video as your source instead of several parts, the FLV should come out perfect!

  • Premiere CS4 - Crashes when Export is selected

Seems like every time I turn my attention to things other than video, and then return after a while, Premiere has a
new problem. Like it's angry at me for neglecting it.
This time it's the export feature. When I click on Export to create a video, the program just hangs up. Adobe Media Encoder does not start. Media Encoder does come up when I start it myself, but not when called from Premiere.
When I try to click on any place on Premiere during this period, I get an aggravated "beep."  It's almost as if there is a hidden alert box, but I have tried all I can think of to find it, and can't.
I hope I am not gonna have to uninstall and reinstall. I do have a life.
If anyone has any thoughts, I'd sure appreciate seeing them
    Thanks.

Thanks, guys, for all the input. One of the suggestions had to do with having gone from two monitors to one. That is not the case for me. I have been using two monitors for quite some time without problems, and am still using two monitors.
As I mentioned in my original post, when the lock-up occurs, it acts like it has thrown up an invisible dialog box, awaiting my response.  It dawned on me over the weekend that if the program is doing that, then hitting either Enter or Esc should make a difference. So I tested that theory this morning, and sure enough, if I hit Enter it continues on with the Media Encoder. If I hit Esc, it unlocks the program.
So obviously there is a dialog box that is somewhere off the screen. As I also mentioned earlier, I squished all the open windows down in case the dialog box was behind one of them, and I never saw it.
My only concern is, I don't know what question I am answering when I am hitting Enter to continue with the process. Maybe someone can tell me? If it came up before, I don't remember what it was.
Ten lashes on me for not thinking of that idea sooner.
    Thanks again!
    Bill

  • Various Premiere CS4 problems on Windows 7

My job is to edit weekly videos for a college. They've provided me with a Windows 7 computer and Adobe CS4. My source material comes from shared servers. For the past few months, everything worked smoothly. In the past couple of weeks, I've had various problems with Premiere that aren't consistent.
    1. Sometimes the playback and controls begin to lag just before the program crashes.
    2. Sometimes audio clips from one source will suddenly be mute on playback, even though the waveform on those clips is displayed. This also keeps exports from being successful (the log says "Error Compiling Movie - Unknown error").
    3. Sometimes jpegs or png files I have superimposed can't be found when I open the project file, resulting in the "Media Offline" box in their place.
    4. Even when none of the above is happening, exporting the video as an AVI results in choppy audio that then cuts out when it reaches the clips mentioned in 2.
Help please? As I said, not all of these issues consistently happen, but at least one is always there.

  • Premiere CS4 problems with Snow Leopard 10.6.7

I know that this is draging the depths of history but we have eight MackBook Pros with Snow Leopard (no roll back possible) and various CS4 progeams on in the college at which I teach.  We have a problem with Premiere in that clips will not play either in the preview, timeline or program areas rendering the whole program useless.  I don't think this is a problem that unknown; has anyone found a solution othere than installing 5.5 of course?

That is not good... PPro requires FULL access to the system to work properly... it just is not designed to be run on a limited use account
Also (Mac may be different???) to use some of the functions in Encore in the Win7 world, you not only have to be running the program from an Administrator account, you actually have to right click the program icon and select Run as Administrator from the list of options
Welcome to the wonderful world of computer security settings that get in the way of doing work
To create a dual layer DVD (or a BluRay?), you MUST have Encore set to use the Run as Administrator option

  • Premiere cs4 will not export sequence

I am not new to Premiere, but I am  new to the CS4 version. I have set up a simple serquence with a single  dissolve between clips. But i cannot export it to any format. I am on a PC using XP Professional.
My Procedure: I  select the sequence created in Premiere; I go to File>export>Export Media; there is no "export" button available. I can hit OK which opens the  Adobe Media Encoder and shows the file statis "waiting". If I go ahead and encode, I get an error message. It says something about that it cannot find the files. I tried this in an earlier version on Premiere and it works fine-no error. Any ideas about  what I am overlooking to get this thing rendered as a Qicktime (or any  other format)? Thanks.

In AME (Adobe Media Encoder), you need to load the Sequence into the Queue, set the Export attributes, and then start the Export. If that is what you have done, then it might be useful to have the full text of the error message, as something else might be conflicting.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
