Premiere CS4. Video-individual images freeze. abrupt change from frame to frame.

I'm working with Adobe Premiere CS4... windows XP prof SP3 4GB RAM. ATI Radeon 38XX Graphic
my problem is as following: working window: the projection of individual frames in a movie doesn't run smoothly, the change from frame to frame is abrupt, almost robotic...it also freezes occasionally .. sound is fine though.
I've reinstalled all recent graphic and sound drivers and also latest updates but the problem is still there...

My understanding (which could be wrong) is that the iPhone shoots video with a variable frame rate. This is likely so it can optimize video for FaceTime. So uncomplicated scenes can be shot with a lower framerate, and active scenes will be shot with a higher framerate.

The image freeze at a single frame

When I tray to play, the image freeze at the first frame. I can listen the audio and control the color in the panels, but the image is freeze.

as I said read the manual, prior to using proxies you need to generate proxie media for all of your clips, this is an option on importing your vision, or can be done later, as in your case, select all of your media, depending on the amount of media this will take some time, everyclip is having a second low quality and bandwidth version/proxie created that you will use for editing, upon completion of editing you then swap back to original or optimised media, re-render all of your effects and exports.

Problems with Premiere CS4 video

Just purchased Premiere CS4. When I import video (avi or mpeg), what appears in the preview monitor or the timeline monitor is greatly distorted. Audio is great, it's just the video that I'm having trouble with. Running it on XP with 3.4 GB of memory. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

So would some information. AVI and MPEG mean nothing, they are just containers that can hold anything from scrap metal, toxic chemicals, food, clothing, electronics, spare car parts, tapestry or God knows what. Unfortunately PR can only handle certain contents, so you need to know what codec is used.

When I click on Images the language changes from English!

I search using Google. I then click the Images icon/tab (top left).
Images are displayed however the language changes from English to (what looks like) German. Most bizarre. Any clues as to why this would occur?

Try to clear the Google cookies.
Does it help if you set the language to English via the gear icon > Settings?

Time measure has changed from frames to centesimal.

After upgrading from QT 7.2 (or 7.1) to 7.5 today the time measument in the film info window has changed from showing the time in frames to showing it in seconds with decimals.
Now shows time as 00:00:03:96 instead of 00:00:03:24.
I have looked around in the settings but can't find anything related to this.
I use QT-player for animation production, I need to have time displayed as frames.
Is there some way to change this or do I have to revert to my old version (not working with Firefox3)?

Yes, thanks, I've noticed that change which is nifty.
But it doesn't change the time display in the info window where before, I could have the time displayed as minutes:seconds:frames. With the new display I can have frames only, not seconds:frames.

Xf86-video-ati: system freezes after changing power profile to low?

I am running multihead with awesome-wm and the latest xf86-video-ati drivers (not from testing). when i change the power method to profile and change the power profile to low, the screen flashes, my temps start to go down and everything seems normal. a few minutes later the system hard freezes, can't ctrl-alt-del, power button doesn't work on a single press (have to press and hold). i don't have this problem when running dynpm but because i am running dual screens, the temps don't drop at all and hover around 66 degrees.
card is a radeon 6950.
this is a fresh install of arch, had arch installed on the same system about a year ago and didn't have this problem at all.

If I remember correctly this is known to be possible to happen (is that real english? ). In this case, just don't put it to "low", since it's quite experimental.

Problems with video previews: image freezes when scrubbing (CS6)

I just installed CS6 on my computer after working with CS5.5 and I encountered a strange problem with my EOS5D Mk 2 and also Ixus 100IS footage in Bridge CS6 (actually this happens with every video).
In CS5.5 I was able to preview my mov files and scrub through them without many problems (aside from a casual crash, but hey... )
In CS6 now the video preview starts and everything seems fine, until I scrub to a later point in the video. At that point the video freezes but the sound goes on. The only way to make the video run again is to click pause and then click play again. You can imagine that scrubbing through videos isn't much fun..
Has anyone ever had a problem like that with CS6?
Since CS5.5 is still installed, I checked and found out, that in Bridge CS5.5 everything is still working fine: No video freezes there - only in CS6
I already updated to the latest graphics card driver and all updates from CS6. Does anyone have an idea what I could do?

win7 64bit
nvidia geforce GTX 590, driver 301.42
no other video software installed
Aside from that, I also realized that video quality in the preview area isn't particularly brilliant (neither in CS5.5 nor in CS6). Since the video is scaled to the preview window size, I sometimes get scaling artefacts/moirees. Is there a way to smooth the video playback, like you could in a regular video player?

Perhaps your understanding of rendering is different than mine. I think of it more as combining edits to form a new video. Are you using rendering as the same as playback? Also, not sure how you can have a system that has only CS6 files, as files are the same for CS5.5. I must be missing something here.

Believe that error is fixed as my video play OK now.

Bridge CS4 edit history problem with OS change from XP to 7

I've changed my OS from XP to 7. After reinstalling software, Bridge CS4 no longer keeps my editing steps in the "edit history" metadata. The only steps recorded are that I've saved a file. I have the edit history box marked in preferences in both Bridge and PS, and have tried changing the metadata section in Preferences to session only, concise, and detailed. None of those choices make a difference. Any suggestions on how to get my edit history steps back in the metadata of Bridge? I use the edit history frequently! Thanks in advance!

Quicktime video skips and freezes after exporting from FCP

I have tried exporting from Final Cut a few different ways, but my QT file had short skips and freezes in the video (the audio is perfect).
I have done this same thing several time with no problems at all. What am I doing wrong?

How are you exporting... QT Movie, Conversion, what settings?
What drive are you exporting to?
What version of FCP and QT?

When you select and change more that 20 items at one go, from FIFO to Moving Average, it causes SAP to Freeze; Also if you do them one-by-one, after about 30-40 itms, SAP freezes.

But I am running SAP 8.8 PL15; working on the server console, single user, tried several option, restarting Server, SQL, stopped TomCat etc, played with threads etc.
The DB size is 510MB and 1,500 stock items; they have about 7 warehouses, automatically created to each stock item.
I really think it is a problem on 8.8, so I will log a call with AG Support.

Image problems at change from 1.5 to 1.4

Hello all,
in my applet, I am displaying a jpg. I use the Piccolo library for this, but unfortunately, the guys there couldn't help me with my issue.
So, my problem is: I have to downgrade from java 1.5 to 1.4 (as some big companys don't use 1.5 yet, and it can take months for them to change to 1.5...). Most of my code is already compatible. the biggest problem in the moment is the display of the jpg - it does not show up any more. I think my code is pretty straightforward:

At the first trials, I always got an error message "media tracker errored image load", until I realised that the graphic string path was not build up very well, it contained a "/\" as directory separation. I corrected this, and now I don't get any error message any more. But still no image.
As I have not worked with 1.4 before, I have no idea what might be different - any ideas?

ok, I found out a little bit more:
- the string containing the file name may contain whitespaces. This is no problem for 1.5, but obviously for 1.4.
- if I replace all whitespaces with "%20", the code works for 1.4. The image is only shown after I move the window, but this is another problem (this is why I thought in the beginning it would not work - I didn't see anything).
- but if I replace all whitespaces, the image is not shown on 1.5 any more!
As it is now, I can compile my code either for 1.4 or 1.5, but not for both. Any suggestions? It's no good idea to ask the customer which version he wants to use - he might upgrade at some time, and then need the other version...

My tabs abruptly change from tabs to new firefox windows.

When I have several tabs open to different website, clicking on a particular tab frequently leads firefox to change the tab into a new instance of firefox, that is, a new window. This began happening a few weeks ago and seems to be happening more frequently. It happens on different computers also.

I need to change from "frames" format to html...

I published my first website using iWeb. Evidently the search engines aren't finding it because it is "frames" format. It needs to be in "html" format. How do I convert what I've already created? It is the Rage SEO website (no affiliation). I used their free SEO Tool to add meta tags and alt tags to photos, and then bought Rage Sitemap Automator to make a sitemap. I also got a Google Webmaster account and verified my sites. Google asks you to create an html file with a specific name provided by Google. I made a blank html page and just named it per Google then uploaded it on my site.
However, I just did this a few days ago and my sites still aren't showing up in searches but I figure Google hasn't crawled them yet. We shall see.
