Premiere cs6 changes image quality of .mov from d5200

When importing the .mov files from the nikon d5200 to premiere pro cs6, the movement looks strange and there is pixelisation. What can I do about it?

Here are some screenshots for illustration. Of cours the poor movement of the video is most annoying, but even in the stills you can see the difference:

No, especially not video files. That's way too much scaling.

it might be worth checking your TV settings to see if it has an option for different settings based on whether using the tv speakers or headphones.
Normally you should be able to control the sound via the tv.
Have you tried it without the headphones?

  • Image quality of movie transferred from VHS

I’ve recently begun using EyeTV 200 to transfer old VHS home movies to DVD using iMove and iDVD. The movies look OK on my monitor, but on the burned dvd, they don’t look as good – especially during quick pans (this is especially a concern for another movie I am working on as the camera was manned by a friend who had no reservations about whipping the camera around from scene to scene). I realize that I can expect some image quality loss due to the compression (and also due to the fact that the VHS tapes aren’t that great in quality to begin with), but I was wondering if there were other ways to improve the image quality through settings in iMovie or iDVD. Also, I am getting iLife ’06 this weekend. Are there any improvements in the compression in that version?
    Thanks,
    George

    Hi, George,
I don't use Eye TV, but I have copied many hours of old VHS family movie tapes onto DV tapes using my camcorder.
I was surprisingly pleased that the quality of the DV tapes was a big improvement over the original VHS tapes. I then imported the DV tapes into iMovie and have been creating DVDs of my old photos and movies.
I have found that those VHS clips were darker and less clear when viewed in iMovie, but on the burned DVD they came out better. "Better" is a subjective term, because VHS quality is much less than digital to begin with, and the older the VHS tape, the worse quality. So, I am not sure why you are finding that the burned DVDs are not so good. I would expect them to be better, as I have found.
Maybe it is because I recorded the tapes to digital first, before importing into iMovie. I did it this way because I wanted to have the DV tapes to preserve the VHS movies in addition to the iMovies and iDVDs that I am making.
I have not yet purchased iLife 06 because of the problems I have been following in these forums. I have everything working well in v5, so I am going to continue on with that until I get more of my movies completed. I started with 1979, and am finishing 1990 this week! Only 15 more years-worth to go!
    Good luck to you!

  • Bad image quality when importing from word

When importing from MS Word 2003 to RH X5.0.2, embedded
images are converted to jpg whith an obviously quite moderate
compression qulity. This is particularly evident for screenshots.
Is there a way to improve the image quality?

Peter , these images were copied and pasted directly in to
the Word-document (using the Print Screen button) but I did find
out something. RoboHelp generates two image files of the types PNG
and JPG for each Word image (named, e.g., image102.png and
image103.jpg). Regretably, the lesser quality JPG is always
referenced in the topics instead of the much better PNG. Sometimes
the two images greately differ in size (pixel size), but most of
the time they are about the same size.
So the task might be to change the references in all topics
using a script and then manually checking the images for their
    size.
An observation: Any GIF images in the Word file (i.e., real
*.gif files that were inserted over the Insert menue) remain GIF
files after the import, they are not converted and maintain a good
    quality.

  • Poor Image quality in iDVD from iMovie

After creating a video in iMovie using photos, video clips, transitions, music, and Ken Burns, things look great. Everything looks fine in iMovie ('09). I then export it to iDVD to create the menus, etc. So far so good. After burning the disc, the picture quality is really horrible, especially the photos using Ken Burns. I do not know how to describe it....wavy, pixilated, something. The video used, taken using a digital camcorder is tolerable if I remember to deinterlace. What do I have to do to get these pics to look right? IF I export in iMovie using Quicktime, the resulting .MOV is fine....looks great. After exporting to iDVD, it looks awful.....Any help would be appreciated....thank you.

    Chris,
    not using any de-interlacing
Both iMovie 08 and iMovie 09 only use one field of a DV video frame. iMovie 5 and earlier used both frames. I'm not sure that using just one field makes a lot of difference when the content goes through mpg-2's heavy compression to make a DVD in iDVD.
As far a still images are concerned, the best sizes for NTSC DVDs are 720x540 pixels for standard video and 854x480 pixels for widescreen. Going to larger image sizes can actually reduce the image quality on a DVD.

  • Does Photoshop Express change image quality of original file?

I use Photoshop Express (currently version is 3.4196) on my iPhone 5s to work on 24 megapixel files from my Nikon D7100 DSLR.

    Hello
We are currently having a beta for Measurement Studio. This is a public beta where we let customers evaluate beta software versions of the next release of Measurement Studio. If you can go to the beta site ( http://ni.com/beta ) and sign up for the Measurement Studio beta, you can evaluate this behavior in the newer CWGraph control and see if it provides you the desired behavior.
The main reason you are seeing problems like this is that the ControlImage function selects 600 dpi to draw the image out, since this is a standard number that works with most printers. The 7.1 controls will now provide a ControlImageEx function that lets you select the dpi for the image. The standard for most screens is 96 dpi.
    Please email the beta coo
rdinator( [email protected] ) once you have signed up.
    I hope this helps

  • Image quality after opening from camera RAW

Why does the image quality seem to get worse in Elements 11 once the image is opened up after editing from Camera RAW?  The image looks great in the RAW screen, then once opened in Photo editor it seems pixelated, smooth lines look jagged.  Is it something I am doing wrong?

  • Changing picture mode playing movies from USB on Toshiba 46TL938

    Hello,
i tried to play yesterday a movie from the USB on my Toshiba 46TL938.
Unfortunately the the playback had a lot of opera effect and surely i did not see anywhere close
    the 24p playback.
On my TV i have the clearscan completely turned off, but it seems the toshiba media player uses its own settings by default. On my computer, the movie played without any problem, so the file was totally fine.
I finally ended up connecting my computer on my TV in order to watch decently the movie.
Do you have any suggestions about this?
I could not find any extra setting that would resolve this problem.

The user manual provides all information about the usage of TVs Media Player (page 65)
    http://www.toshiba-om.net/LCD/PDF/English/TL938-4046-English.pdf
During playback, you can adjust the Picture and Sound menu functions from the Quick Menu
But these items are different depending on the current mode.
Playing movie from USB the quick menu does not contain the same items like when viewing a TV programme or pictures from the external input Single Window or 3D Single Window

  • Is it possible to change image quality on the iPhone 4S?

What's happened is that all images viewed on the phone used to have good quality to them (note not actual images taken by the camera but safari related) but something has changed and now they are small and poor. Have tried to research what it could be but have been unsuccessful.
Can anyone help? Is it a possibility that settings on the phone have been changed somehow and if so how do I change them back?

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
Apps that can display some Flash from the Web:
    Puffin
    SkyFire
    Photon Flash
    Browse2Go
    iSwifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

  • How do you increase image quality when importing from Illustrator?

I have a logo that I created in Adobe Illustrator that I'm trying to place in Muse.  Every time that I do so, it's very low quality, fuzzy and pixelated.  After doing some reading around the discussion board, I tried resizing the image in both Illustrator and Photoshop so that I wouldn't have to do so in Muse.  That didn't help at all.  I also tried adding 1% transparency, which also did no good.  I know it's a high resolution image, so I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing wrong.
    Thoughts?

Is there a solid white rectangle behind the logo in AI? If not, please try again after putting a 100% opaque white rectangle behind it.
When smoothing the edges of content (anti-aliasing), the options are limited if the background color is not specified (transparent). If the background colors are known and 100% opaque, then much higher quality anti-aliasing can be achieved.
PNG preserves transparency. JPEG is opaque. When going to JPEG I would have expected AI to have performed high quality anti-aliasing, but perhaps that isn't the case. If you open the PNG and/or JPEG output from AI in Photoshop does it look pixelated there?

  • Poor image quality when played from dvd just burned

I exported a FCP file from FCP using Compressor using several variations: uncompressed, compressed MPEG2 etc... brought the file into DVDSP and burned it to a DVD. when i play it from the dvd on my computer monitor it has these terrible lines and there are dropped frames occassionally. It doesnt look that way when I play it directly from DVDSP or from FCP only from the dvd. What is the problem here and how do I get a dvd whose quality matches the original?

All video brought into DVDSP for authoring is converted to the same format for DVDs, MPEG2.
Your "terrible lines" are probably interlacing artifacts. Look up interlacing in the manual. they always look worse on a computer monitor since that's a progressive display.
Stuttering can be caused by tons of oddball glitches, no way ot even start guessing from where I'm sitting.
but the whole process of going form FCP to DVDSP successfully is clearly and exhaustively explained in about 100 pages of the manuals and, yes, it really can be that complicated.

  • Adobe Premiere CS6 degrading audio quality

Hello everyone.  I am new to video editing but have been learning very fast.  However, I am having an issue that I can't seem to find an answer to.
When I import anything into Premiere, the audio quality gets noticably muffled.  I have tried exporting at the highest quality settings, but I don't think that's the problem becuase it sounds muffled in the playback in Premiere itself.
    Does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks so much!

  • How can I change image value to inches from pixels

    Like title says.
I want to crop an image to 5x5 inches but I can only enter a pixel value. Can
    this be changed?
(yeah i know i can convert, but i would rather not)

    It shouldn't be a problem.
Load the crop tool > select 'Custom' in the Crop HUD 'Aspect Ratio' drop-down > type '5' in both the 'Width' & 'Height' fields > drag crop tool to select area to crop > press 'Enter' or close the Crop HUD.
You can then export the version using the Size To: menu in the export preset dialog set to 'Fit Within (Inches)' and set the DPI to '100'. This should give you both a 5 inch x 5 inch on screen image size after export, as well as a 5 inch x 5 inch image during print or in a layout program (Pages, Word, InDesign - even in Illustrator).
Note - the '100' DPI setting can be tweaked if you know the absolute pixels per inch of your monitor screen (otherwise, 100 is a good general rule of thumb for a majority of monitors).
    I hope that helps.

  • Change selected tab when move from one view to another

    Hi all,
I have a tabbedviewnavigator application where I have 5 tabs in it. So, the first tab contains the first view of the application, e.g. HomeView. Inside this view, I have a button where upon clicking it, it will push to the second view which is sitting in the second tab.
How do I change the selected tab index upon clicking the button? Because right now the selected tab is till on the first tab. Please help.
    Best regard,
    Victor

When you set selected index of 2nd tab, try to set focus on of any control in 2nd tab. It might happen that if you don't set focus on of any control tab may not change.
