Just one file (from 5)  auto saves works but is to outdated to use really:(
I`been trying :
- create new project and import corrupted project inside without success
- reset ppro settings ctr shift alt
- Import entire sequence  -"importer raported generic error"
- Importing separate sequence  - Dynamic link hangs/stop in 1/8 progress bar
- edit file in notepad ++ , where i can see ther is some error (see screens)
- saving in notepad++ as xml -  no change
- xml wrench can only load file until first error
- also i been trying to open this cs6 project in cc ,no success. This same when I going around in CC and trying importing separate sequences via MediaBrowse ( sequences wont show up)

THANK YOU for any help. I don't know what to do.

i found some tool for Mac "Project repair" but no success there.
also when i manually delete those weird signs & errors from ppro project in notepad++ ,save to new name file and then try to import each sequence separately progress bar go up to 80% then stuck in place ,this is much more compare to original which go only 10% and stop.
This new clean file opened and checked in XML Wrench give me few errors like that

  • Premiere CC corrupt project and autosaves -  Is your project really saved?

My Project file has become corrupted along with the last 5 Autosaves.
It could have been an extra project I imported into this one that had a missing unlinked file in it... or the only other thing that changed on the time timeline was the use of the standard reverb plugin.
One thing that is disturbing about this is that you can be saving your project and autosaving but not knowing that your project has now become corrupted. Do we really have to go through the extra step of saving then closing down the project then reopening just to make sure we have a secure copy?
Is there anyway to recover these projects?
This is a link to it... btw its 1.34 gigs
    Dropbox - JAN 13 CUT.prproj

You can try importing the project into a new project.
I know it's too late for this advice now, but never rely on autosaves in any software application.  Always save intermediately as you progress, along with backup copies.

  • Premiere CS6 corrupt project files

Project was saved, premiere closed. Opened one more time all ok and after couple minutes my pc has no electricity. Tried after this to open my project and I get it's corrupted.
Tried this and nothing.... Please help! important project!
    Create a new project
in Media Browser, go to the old project. When you double-click it, you'll be able to see all the contents--sequences, bins, assets...
try importing your sequences one by one

I've made it habit to save incremental copies of my projects, often.   Also, before closing a project.  I save it, and then I save an incremental copy of it.  i.e. project_name_001, 002, 003, etc.  Whenever I encounter a project that fails to open, and it happens about once a month or so, I simply fall back to the previous copy.  In fact, I do this kind of saving for everything.  There are times I've wanted to go a different direction, or screwed something up, and would open a few versions back as a new baseline, rather than starting all over again.  It's a good habit to have, especially when you consider that I could have a dozen or more active projects in various stages, (it never gets boring where I work).

  • Premiere CS6 won't import mov files, the message: "file has no video or audio streams" shows up instead. How can I import the files?

Premiere CS6 won't import mov files, the message: "file has no video or audio streams" shows up instead. How can I import the files?

MOV is a wrapper that can contain many different codecs. The message you get is indicative of a distribution codec inside the MOV wrapper. You may need to convert the material to an editable codec before importing.

  • Does anyone have corrupt premiere projects and autosave files?

A Premiere CC project that I have been working on for weeks now is corrupt and will not open.  I get a message "the project appears to be damagaed".  All of the associated autosave files are also now messed up (some are a month old). Everything else on the drive that contains the projects is fine. Even other older Premiere projects are fine.  I open the bad autosave projects in notepad and it is filled with jibberish compared to the other uneffected projects.  Is this a bug or have I been hacked by the recent Adobe securiy issue?  Here is a link to the project file http://adobe.ly/1awiNVO
All of my autosave files look like this too.  How could all of my auto save files change to this jibberish too?  I could understand if a save to my current project goes to left field, but how do all of my autosaves get corrupted too?
I have written out large portions of the project to finished movies, but still have a few I will need to start over from scratch if no one has a solution to my problem here.  I would really like to have a chance to go back and re-edit if I see anything I want to touch up in the exported movies I have.  Thank God I at least have what I do otherwise it would be a months worth of work down the tube.   Has anyone else had this issue, or better yet have a fix?

Thanks Jon, I was not aware of the new zip files for the project files in CC.  As Ann had confirmed, the project file was actually intact.  I moved all of my assets and the project to another machine and it opened just fine.  I still do not know why the project will not open on the other machine.  Premier will open and start a new project, but I get an error code if I try to open that project.  I did start the project in CS6 and convert it to CC when we upgraded, but a bug there still does not explain why the same project works on one computer but not the other.  I will do a better job of asset management next time I work on that computer just in case:)

I usually visit this forum since 2006. I Had another Adobe ID, but forgot the password, and as i lost access to email, used to make the forst ID, I did this other ID about a year ago.
I have followed and contributed to dozens of posts on the Audition, Encore, Premiere, Soundbooth, that useless software, since that year. In ALL posts of this forums , we found this same MVPs, with their "maybes" or "figured out" about everything. Is not my account, but this is very time consuming, so I wondering  if they have time for other things in life.
There are few posts that I write something in the solution, as this demand research, test and post the result. but when I do, it is a final and tested solution. For example, in 2009 i resolving a problem from a bloak, that i have to write a software driver to him. I spent 2 months in that job, but i resolved his problem, not these "maybes" or "perhaps", or else "I heard that" or "try this," or "try it".
In forums in my opinion is when you post an answer to a question has to be "THE ANSWER",  definitive, correct, tested, to solve the problem of who asked for help there. This demand, days, a week, months  sometimes.

  • Premiere CS6 suddenly not supporting .VOB files

    Hey guys...
Been working on a reel on Premiere Pro CS6, wherin most of the footage comes straight from ripped DVD footage. Was working FINE for weeks, could drag and drop the VOB files and preview/edit them in premiere NO problem...
However, one day I noticed that the vast majority of my footage had gone offline. I tried to link the media back up, but to my suprise, whenever I try to link media or drag and drop new VOB files into the Project Panel, I get this message:
    Error Message
         File format not supported.
Premiere suddenly no longer accepts, previews or lets me cut VOB files. I have no idea what went wrong...I vaguely recall accidentally disconnecting my harddrive while the project was open one time, and that seemed to be around the time the problem started. But I'm not sure, and even further still I'm not sure that an event like this would cause such a drastic change in the program. It's like the codec got erased or something.
I've tried uninstalling Premiere completely and re-installing again, probably 4 times now but to no avail. Today I caved in and wiped CS6 Master Collection COMPLETELY from my computer, even going so far as to erase any remaining folders w/ the word 'Adobe' on it, and re-installed everything fresh. Unfortunately, same result. When I open the project, all of the VOB files on the timeline are still dead and it still wont let me drag new VOB media into the Project Panel. I have no idea what is causing this.
The closest thing I found to someone else having this problem is here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4648006
It seems his problem suddenly--an inexplicably fixed itself. Discouraging...
I read somewhere else of someone's VOB files not working, and someone recommended using Encore to rip the DVD's and it should work. I used MacTheRipper, but those files were working GREAT in the beginning, so I don't see why now suddenly they would shut off like that. Im not against trying encore, but I've already returned some of the DVD's to the guy who shot the footage, and it will be a pain to get them all back and re-burn them in encore.
Can anyone think of a solution for this? I would worship you for eternity, even build a statue in  my closet and feed it every night.

My sequence pre-sets are the same exact as this image:
(stole this image from this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4508635)
Does this look like some presets are missing, and could this be the cause of my problem?

  • Premiere cs6 won't load cs5 file

This project contained a sequence that could not be opened.  No sequence preview presetfile or codec could be associated with this sequence type.
The project was created in CS5.  I get this messge again, again, and again, even after CS6 DID work once.  CS6 is supposed to load CS5-created premiere project and  sometimes converts it, etc.  Then won't load the converted project!!!!!
    I am using creative cloud.
    What is going on?

Jim, Thanks for the quick reply.  The problem is indeed a missing codec, viz. intra100.  There is a related problem that Adobe apparently has not solved: A/c to a technician.    CS5 overwrites CS6 files and vice-versa (in creative cloud anyway).  So,  I am constantly having to re-activate CS6  because of using CS5 for things like markers.
The tech said they would be working on it (two or three months ago).  Have you heard anything on this issue?
I am wondering if there is any simple way just to copy this particular coded for the moment.
    Thanks again.

  • Premiere Pro corrupted project

Well this is just great. My project will not open anymore. All my auto-saves are from the same day so none of them will open anymore. I have absolutely no idea why not. It won't open even if I move all my media files elsewhere (not even offline helps).
Anyone else experienced something like this? This is pretty bad. If it helps I've uploaded the project file here:
    http://hmcindie.pp.fi/vesa/
    Thanks.

    jportx:
What version of Premiere are you running? I tried to open your project with Premiere CS3 at home without success.
A few years back when we used the Matrox RT.X100, Premiere project file corruption happened occasionally. Since we ditched the Matrox, we have never had a situation where a Premiere project became corrupt and refused to open. We are now using CS4 at work and have had an After Effects dynamic link issue cause a *.prproj opening process go into an endless loop. We were able to find a work-around for that.
I was able to open your project in Notepad. The Prproj's are XML files with a *prproj extension. If you change the extension to *.xml, you can open them in Dreamweaver. The problem is, these documents contain so much information, I'm not sure if even the engineers who invented the format could spot an error within a reasonable time frame. A software *.prproj repair utility would be a wonderful thing. Unfortunately, I don't think there is one.
You said the auto-saves appear to be corrupt going back a ways. Can you remember if you closed and re-opened the main project within the time frame when those auto-saves were created.
System Mechanic has some great tools for finding and repairing hard drive errors. The fully functional program is available to use as a 30 day trial at iolo.com.
I'm not really sure if an MFT hard drive error could cause Auto Save files to become corrupt. I mentioned in a previous thread that when we used the Matrox card, I did an experiment and changed just one character (manually with Notepad) within a *prproj. The project file would not open and the dialog said the project was corrupt. So I can tell you that *.prproj's will not tolerate even the slightest error. I would let a complete System Mechanic hard drive diagnostic run all night.
Could you post your system specs?

  • Canon XF Import Causes Premiere CS6 to Crash.  Help!

I purchased a Canon XF300 to work specifically with Premiere CS6 as Adobe claims native support for MXF files.
Unfortunately, whenever I import footage from the XF300 into Premiere, it causes Premiere to crash.
This happens no matter what method I use to import the files... using XF Ultility, using Prelude, clicking on import in the Premiere CS6 media browser, opening the files in the media browser and dragging and dropping into a bin.  It doesn't matter.  The crash still happens.
This is not an issue with spanned clips as it happens even without spanned clips.
After importing the clips into a bin, the bin has trouble drawing thumbnails for all the clips, usually but not always the ones not initially visible in the bin window.  The thumbnails don't appear, just gray boxes.  Scrolling down and clicking on the gray boxes, even after waiting several minutes for the system to "catch up," causes a crash.
This is a repeatable problem that *only* happens when using Canon MXF footage.  Every other codec I've tried works just fine.  The Canon footage never works.
I am on a Mid-2012 Mac Pro 2x 3.06 GHz 6-Core Inten Xeon computer running 64GB of Ram on OSX 10.8.3, using Premiere 6.0.2 Creative Cloud.  I use a Matrox MX02 for I/O and a NVIDIA Quadro 4000 with CUDA Driver 5.0.59.
I've troubleshot this problem to death, stripping everything from the machine down to its original factory state (no extra RAM, no NVIDIA card, no Matrox I/O etc.) and the system still crashes every single time I try to import the MXF footage, no matter what method I use.  The only workaround is to transcode to ProRes and that's not acceptable.
Am I the only one having this issue?  Is there something glaringly obvious I'm overlooking?  Thanks in advance for any assistance or perspective.  I am growing increasingly frustrated as I feel Adobe has a software problem here they're not addressing.

That's the thing.  The system drive has plenty of space... 762Gb out of 1TB available.  All the HDs have a ton of space on them.  This has happened since Day 1 when the entire system was brand new.
And only with Canon XF files.  No other codec produces behavior even remotely similar on my system.  It's baffling because everyhting is up to spec as far as I can determine and yet the problem persists.
Limiting the number of clips in a bin is unworkable because of the type of work I'm doing.  Transcoding is the only answer at this point but I really would like to know what's causing this.
I really wish Adobe could try to recreate the problem.  Does anyone else out there using Mac OSX and CS6 have trouble with XF files?  Is it a known issue?

  • Missing renderer error in Premiere CS6 plus three more errors

    I just tried to open a saved project and now get a Missing renderer error in Premiere CS6;
"This project was last used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA), which is not available on this system. Mercury Playback Engine Software Only will be used"
I then click OK and get a new errror:
The preset used by one or more sequneces in this project requires third party components that could not be located. These sequences will be modified to use a custom sequence setting instead ...."
I then click OK and get the error:
"Adobe Preniere Pro CS6 has stopped working"
This is the same computer thta created the project and nothing physical has cahnged. I reboot try to create a new project and get the error:
"Sorry a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premier Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project"
I cant do anything with premiere CS6 at all.
    HELP!

The first two can be solved pretty easy, but won't help much in light of the third.  We need to solve that one first.  Once you get PP to open and remain open with a new project and new sequence, then we can fix the first two.  So...

  • Premiere Pro CS6, large project file size - crashing etc

Working on a project in Premiere Pro CS6 - also incorporating after effects and using 2 external plugins (Beauty Box and Factory Pro FX).  Project is over 500MB, lots of comps, titles etc.  project seems to be corrupt on my machine. .The project crashes continually. I cannot save my work, I cannot export, I cannot create XML and media is linking incorrectly.  When I pull the project in on my laptop (separate machine) which has CC 2014 running, the project is FINE.  That said - I need to work off of the more powerful machine to do this job - so need to find a way to troubleshoot.  Note - project opens on my partner's machine, she can save + export, etc - however the media in still linking incorrectly on her machine as well (note partner does not have the 2 plugins, beauty box and factory Pro FX) - that said, it still links to the wrong media.
We have worked out a work-arond where we pull all of the AE sequences out of Premiere and into separate AE project which has made the project workable again but we know something is WRONG and we need to fix for future ASAP.
    please help!
    thank you

  • Project Bloating and Repair in Premiere Pro CS6; Max Project File Size? Adobe Coders Welcome...

    Greetings.
After a few browsing sessions, I haven't found direction for a specific problem within a project bloat. First and foremost; we're always backed up. I have a restoration copy of the project that I will reference herein. Check that off the list.
Numerous people have posted here and around Creative Cow with problems regarding an expanding file size using CS6; watching files go from 300mb to 2.8gb. The unfortunate problem is when the project crosses a magical line that results in an inablity to open, import, export, or access sequences contained therein. Has anyone addressed a solution to repairing Premiere CS6 save files? Reducing file bloat? I haven't seen anything (recall the FCP7 repair days... solutions existed because problems were frequent; thankfully not so bad with Adobe).
Does anyone inside the code size know the maximum project file size that Premiere can read? I created a monster... Over 200 sequences utilizing 4.5TB of footage, stretching from Red codecs to EXCam to MPEG4 and H264. And for some time, the project size was manageable. Then, it inflated. And one day, randomly stopped opening. None of the auto-saves open.
Just curious. Files aren't the problem, but the 2.8GB save file is. Machine specs // etc. are openly available if required; no bad ram, no problems with all projects (just this one beast).
    Cheers,
    Jon Michael Ryan

  • Adobe Premiere CS6 'Create new Trimmed Project' Crash with .MXF files

Yesterday I started to back up all our students work, and found that the "Create New Trimmed Project" no longer works in CS6 with .MFX files.
Adobe Premiere CS6.0.3,  crashes when I try to "Create New Trimmed Project" under "Project Manager"
This only happens when there are .MXF files in the Sequence.
As we use Panasonic P2 cameras at this university, this is a problem, as this is the format that they shoot in.
As a test I have made a Project with only one .MXF file placed on the sequence, and it crashes.
This happens on my Macs and Windows machines with Adobe Premiere CS6 .
Adobe Premiere CS5.5 works fine, and does not crash.
    Unfortunately I cant save a CS6 project as a CS5.5
If you don't have any .MXF files to test this,
You can make your own .MXF files by exporting any video file as "MXF OP1a" or "P2 Movie" Format, (the Preset setting is irrelevant - any preset will cause it)
    P.S.
Using "Collect files and Copy to new Location" under "Project Manager" works fine, but does not reduce project size as much.

I also discovered this behavior last summer.  Unfortunately the best (lame) answer I could find was that "Some formats, such as Long GOP based media files, cannot trim media, or add handles."  Source:  http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premierepro/cs/using/WS1c9bc5c2e465a58a91cf0b1038518aef7-7c72a .html
That's not very specific, but in my case at least (and it sounds like in your case, too) .MXF may be another file type that cannot be trimmed.  If I remember correctly, the answers I got from others was that they were able to export fine.  My machine (and maybe yours) has an issue that nobody else seems to have encountered.  So none of the prescribed remedies allowed me to move forward in this regard.
After much searching, asking and several suggestions from various Premiere communities, I gave up and moved on.
Use Remove Unused and then Collect Files and Copy to New Location.  At least that can help you if you have a lot of clips.  In my case, it didn't help much, because my very short clips were edited from very long takes, so as Premiere sees it, not much was "unused".
Be aware that "Project Manager does not copy and collect After Effects compositions that are dynamically linked to an Adobe Premiere Pro project. Project Manager does save the Dynamic Link clip in the trimmed project as an offline clip, however."
Wish I could offer you more.

  • Recover Corrupted Project file

I got this message when trying to load a WIP file: "The project could not be loaded, it may be damaged or contain outdated elements."
I've searched the forums as well as on other sources on how to deal with it. So far I've tried:
    1. Check files on AutoSave folder. No luck. All 5 files gave the same message
    2. Fix XML with XML wrench. Tried the "Check is Well Formed" & "Check is Valid" and both said ok"
    3. Restarted PC. Same thing.
    4. Move project and working files to other folders - same.
    5. Created a blank project and tried to import sequence - no sequence show up.
    6. Import from After Effects and Exported - no luck as well. Came up with a message saying there's no valid sequence.
Would appreciate if anyone can help look into my project file to see if this is salvagable. The file looks ok, but it just won't load for some reason.
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9542978/MMK%20Interview%2001.prproj
Thanks in advanced for your help.
    Some info:
    Adobe Premiere Pro 6.0
    Windows 7 64bit
    Using Plural Eyes plugin

For what's worth, after hours of searching online for a solution and tinkering with the XML file, I managed to figure out how to salvage my project. What I did was to import my file into After Effects, and then single out the sequence I need, then went to Adobe Dynamic Link and created a project file in Premiere. Then I copied the sequence from AE and pasted it into Premiere, and deleted (what I took a while to find out) a screwed up sequence from the project and saved the project and ta-da.. it now opens fine.
I'm still unsure why the 1 or 2 sequence is causing the project to be corrupted, but I don't have the time to investigate as I need to complete this project asap.
Thanks to all that have helped.
